Fire.onion lets you browse the web anonymously by routing all traffic over a series of randomly-selected proxy servers using a technique called onion routing. All data is encrypted multiple times, analogous to the layers of an onion, so that each proxy can only decrypt a single layer. Addresses are encrypted together with the data to make sure that each proxy only knows the address of it's immediate successor and predecessor, but not the entire route.

Love this browser!! I tried searching for it on my new tablet, using the EXACT name, copied and pasted into the search, it didn't show up ANYWHERE!! The only way I got it installed was the share link built into the program, emailed it to myself then clicked the link on my new tablet to get to the app! This isn't the first time this has happened with a fav app I needed to reinstall or put on a new device! Thanks for the great program!!

  2. Suraj Kumar-avatar

Every time cloud fare captcha pops up. Can't get past that. I moved over to vpn

  3. Dan L-avatar

Went from Hero to Zero... This was good a few years ago but what happened. No updates, no enhancements plus not working on newer phones equals no install.

  4. A Google user-avatar

First: I'm using this app on a Chromebook which supports Google Play Android apps. I liked the 'all-in-oneness' of this TOR browser. There's no need for a separate app to open a TOR circuit for you (i.e. Orbot) as this app does it itself. One small thing: When I go to close this app, it crashes and throws up an error (I've reported this through the usual channels). Any chance of fixing this? Thanks for a nice app though :-)

  5. Syncru-avatar

the only app where i can actually access the DW without having have 3 different apps and lag. you can make a new instant fake identity after you have browsed a few sites. no more need for paying for a VPN B*******t while having to download the disfunctional TOR apps.

There was a great deal of choices, I have to say that this app helped what needed to be finished, as soon as possible. ... excellent service and support, enjoy

  7. Edward Jones-avatar

Brilliant app. Smoothest way to access the darkweb by far. A little tricky to find in the app store though. Had to find under my own previously installed apps as didn't show in search results.

  8. A Google user-avatar

Works when Tor doesn't on my Chromebook. If I could wish for a feature then it would be to be able to zoom out on a webpage. Thanks! :)

!!!! The SLOWEST app on earth!!!! Abrupt stops, making you start over, which as slow as it is, that is a whole charge on the battery!!!!

  10. A Google user-avatar

It's really a great app to surf the dark if you are new to it. It never tracks your location and its reasonable for a tor browser. Besides It is independent.

  14. Daniel Breeden-avatar

Great option for personal privacy. Do need tech awareness to fine tune app and modulate expectations on what it can do vs what by definition it will prohibit.

Needs polish and a few more features, but a reasonable TOR browser, although keyboard bug is STILL in evidence! Would rate 4 stars if it was fixed! (Doesn't work with slide typing - must type one letter at a time). Also is very much slower than Anonymous Private TOR Browser.

  76. Android User-avatar

Great app, and magnificent browser. Thumbs up on design, user interface and options. As per Aug. 2016, this seems to be the only TOR browser able to play YouTube videos, a major plus. ONE catch; The app quckly eats up memory, and cause CPU-lag, at which time it auto-restarts, ending the session abruptly... Memory is not released, even if tabs are closed. Needs to be adressed. A bookmark management feature would also lift up a notch. But otherwise; Fantastic app.

  77. Timothy Schultz-avatar

I NEVER rate apps, but I had to say I really appreciate this app for what it is and I for one love it's simplicity and would very much rather take that over less privacy. Anyone using these types of apps not knowing the point of TOR, or to just go perusing .onion's is an idiot, do your research. Anyways I love this app and I sincerely hope that you will continue to improve upon it! Polish is good, and yes it could use some, but don't let it forsake you, keeping in mind that no matter what "input" people will have here, security, anonymity, and privacy should remain the number 1 concern as you continue to develop it. Thank you!

  78. Pepe: TheFrog0-avatar

The browser need a lot of work. I'm pretty sure users would love to have an option where they can see how many tor nodes they are connected to in the circuit. Also, why won't it let me keep the settings that I want in about:config? There are tons of vulnerable settings different from Tor browser/Orfox which can potentially bypass the Tor circuit & leak A LOT of information about the user behind the device (including IP) & the device itself. I would love if I can save my hardened about:config settings so that I can prevent the data leak.

  79. A Google user-avatar

The pages load a bit slow, and it's annoying to have to go into my menu and hit the back button rather than tapping my on screen keys, but besides that, it's great! Another feature I'd die to see is Flash support.

  80. Florin Slash-avatar

best of its kind!! one bug though: volume keys don't work in app, however, pressing task button solves the problem temporarly, untill back again. Btw, youtube works minimised, with screen locked - a big 10+!!! it loads fast, it reacts fast, at least on 4g or wifi and on a qcore with 3Gb ram. almost flowlesly

  81. JPSU #112-avatar

I totally love and appreciate the integrated setup( tor+browser). However, solely with the intention to encourage improvement, I would also like to mention that I am highly disappointed to find out that the browser does not allow access to the recent pages. Once you click a link there's no going back! Dear developer(s), please do find a solution to this. Thank you.

  82. Nomir-avatar

ok, so This is my first experience with a Browser designed to access TOR and onion... Most sites about Onion domains work from the Search Engine, but clicking onion links or Copy and Pasting fail to connect, many pages I go to in other browsers come up needing a Captcha to verify, but the captcha isnt allowed to load because of automated signals from the browser... I'm sure I am doing something wrong, but IDK what. I haven't uninstalled yet but I unless in can fix these issues, I have no reason to keep it.

  83. Dave Chapman-avatar

Samsung Galaxy S5 on Marshmallow: Much more customizable than Orfox or other Tor-compatable browsers, but loses sync when minimized. Slow connecting to the Tor network, but I find some sites loaded faster than Orfox. Finally got tired enough of the bugginess to give up on it.

Tor fire/onion if u don't know what t.o.r.onion is, every1 has a slow speed when it's going though several routers on the entire web. I think this 1 is sublime. It's better than orbot

  85. Cody Nelson-avatar

I installed this hours ago and it won't go past 25% saying "loading networkstatus concensus" but literally just spins there. Is there a step I'm missing?

  86. A Google user-avatar

Continous problems with security messages, such as 'CAPTCHA , I'm not a robot pages' ! Advises to install 'privacy pass' addon from mozilla website which clearly doesn't work and won't work! Continous blaming of network or computer of sending out automated queries. Webpage unobtainable. Webpage back button could be better placed and quicker to respond.

  87. Xcier Gaming-avatar

Please stop complaining about there no going back. It is a dynamic IP address with every click it erases history and makes it harder to track you. Be happy there is no back button. There are some glitches as well there are understandable to complain about (keyboard not appearing). Be happy this tool is free. If you really want to go back I suggest Orbot and Orfox.

It's the only tor browser I can get to work on my chromebook so there's something to be said for that. I'm able to access a whole host of onion sites, which is great. Where the app lets itself down is in that it's not easy to use on a chromebook. The back/forward buttons don't work; the back button on the top bar (left) doesn't work. In fact, the only way I can navigate at all is by opening the menu on the top right and clicking < then opening the menu and clicking < and so on. Quite time consuming. Is there a shortcut or two I'm missing out on?

  90. Hall Jackson-avatar

Sure, back button doesn't work on newest update. The app doesn't feel "polished." I'd like to see a built in passcode option. Can't Remember what I paid, if anything, but the developer has continued to improve. Thanls.

    I would and have recommend this app for anyone curious about Tor. It's all in one browser makes it simple for beginners and mobile users. I love it, support + respect for the developer. ❤ {Wake up America, do some real research, get familiar with Project Tor & Anonymous}

  92. A Google user-avatar

While not surprised, I am not really sure if my phone is secure or anonymous which is probably a prevalent problem... It would be great if there were settings for security, but I guess it is a light flash browser. It connects to the tor network fast, prompting me to Check if its actually connected to the tor network. It connects to the Tor network faster than orbot which makes it convenient when orbot experiences those rare connection problems.

  93. Igor A.-avatar

it is much faster that orbot+orfox... but is a clsoed-source build from anonymous developer. play version last updated 2.5 years ago. based on Firefox 41 (2015? 2014?) and had unusable interface. main thing is I can not trust it due it is from unknown private developer. I advise you not to use it.

  94. A Google user-avatar

My first attempt to run the browser was probably on a firewalled network. Orbot-compatible browsers worked but this one didn't. I gave the browser another chance on another network and it worked. it tends to freeze after a few minutes when you open multiple tabs.

Needs work. The pages load a bit slow. Always moves back to the last page and once i put a video in fullscreen i cant go back. I have to start all over.

  96. Micah Thomason-avatar

This app has a few strange idiosyncrasies but by and large it's solid. I'm installing to a new device after having used it for about a year on another so I guess that is a thumbs up.

  97. WinterXTC Venomous-avatar

    WinterXTC Venomous

It for some reason won't let me access the onion pages. It keeps saying that I have to use a Tor Browser. I thought this app came equipped with a Tor browser. What the...,??

  98. A Google user-avatar

Would be nice if this was developed more, as I'd really like for it to be stable. Video play is abysmal. Switching between apps requires grasshopper-like quickness. Should have password for app, and bookmarking should be one action, not two. Needs "clear all tabs" button, among other things. Most of all though, it needs to hold a page. Also the zoom feature blacks out, and pauses for buffering session. THIS APP SHOULD BE CALLED "BUFFER BROWSER", OR "BLACK OUT", OR "START THE F... OVER" HELL JUST

  99. Kevin I-avatar

Works well, does what it says it can do. every now & then it's slow, & once crashed. But 85% of the time works like a charm

  100. John Q Public-avatar

It's a little bit awkward to use as far as bookmarks and things like that, but it is easier than setting up Orbot ,etc and I use it primarily just to stop the incessant ads that come up on your phone. It's relatively quick. If someone is looking for some sort of James Bond stealth then they should be using a no log VPN that they can pay for with gift cards purchased at a store or Bitcoin ,st al.
