Unable to update since September. Tried cleaning cache, uninstalling. Never expected to happen on a pixel phone. Now I am stuck with the very old version. What a shame. I thought those days we had to flash Rom etc is gone. Really cannot believe this happen in 2021. Edit1. Useless canned reply from the "developer". Did you actually read what I had tried before copy and paste the same useless reply?

Everything works mostly as expected and like the design too, but I did find a bug, I think. Sometimes when there are lot of files and you select any one file, it opens the previous file in the list. This happens inconsistently. Currently I have a Google pixel 5 and it's happens sometimes. I even observed it in the moto Z4 that I owned previously.

It should be easier to manage photos with this app....moving pics, creating folders, etc. It is either cumbersome or impossible to do various photo mgmt tasks with this app. Since Google Photos is the only other stock pic app, this should have better options. Also, videos being kept separate means I forget about them completely! It might nice to have the option to see them separate, but otherwise it would be nice to have them with pics from the same day.

Cannot move or copy files unless to Google Drive. Update: you can do it, but NOT from all of the quick access Categories like Downloads that the app steers you towards. You have to scroll down to STORAGE DEVICES which is not on the screen by default (keep scrolling) and then you have to navigate to the Downloads folder. So, you can move files from the downloads folder, but not from the downloads category. Why they don't support copy/move from the places they direct you to at app start is beyond me. But then Google interviews are famous for needing to know how to code a B-tree and nothing about UI design.

It's been more than 2 weeks since I provided feedback to Google through the app's feedback form. Still waiting. |> The Files app by Google on Android 9 and before did its job and provided seamless access to OneDrive. This new version has a more user-friendly interface, but it only seems to provide access to Google Drive. Am I missing something here? I don't need an app to keep my device clean. I just need an app to browse and manage files on my device.

GREAT!! LOVE the app itself (being able 2install apps online. Also, It tells u how much space u have, gives the option 2free space taken up by junk, then gives tons of categories 2go through/decide if you want to keep/delete what is in them! Can also expand the photos 2see a larger portion, to ensure u do not delete something u wanted kept! Not sure of u can do this w/other things aside from pics but 4those of us who constantly takes pics& over organizing them SO often = PERFECT!! THANK YOU!!

Used to be a good file manager but now even do something as simple as moving or copying a file from one directory to another isn't straightforward. You need to go through internal storage and navigate to your files there and then you'll see the options for move/copy. The developer's response says to go through internal storage but it's annoying that you can't do it through the download or recent files tab.

Now this app is really Crashing alot. I can't even send a single file to others. Completely not working in case of file transferring. But this app was working fine for past few months. Resolve it as early as possible! Also music player is having some issues like when the phone is unlocked, it is again starting to play from the 1st song we played.

I've been using Files for a while now and it's a great app. It helps you keep your phone clean, files and documents neat and organized. What's great is the safe folder can actually be on your SD card unlike many other file programs which force you to use your internal storage.

I really can't move a file?? Contrary to instructions by Google, there is no Move option when using the menu for a file. It provides a "Move to Safe Foldet" and "Move to Trash", but nope, no move to a different folder function available. Android 11. Already uninstalled, reinstalled. No change.
