Binge watching doesn't work for TV shows anymore. Also doesn't remember that I use captions so I have to turn them on every time. Also need to force stop and clear cache for it to show the next episode of a show on the homepage. Pretty disappointing compared to other streaming apps, and now it just feels like one of those products that Google made and forgot about

I've used this app to buy and rent movies for years. I usually use my phone and mirror it to my Samsung tv because I dont have wifi. I dont know what happened but its requesting me to use chromecast to be able to stream my movies. Its absurd. I bought chrome cast hoping its similar to data streaming and no... not only did I spend money buying a movie I cant watch, I also bought chrome cast and cant use it. Will i have to subscribe to an internet provider??? Ridiculous!

Bought a movie, unable to download it as a file. When I buy a movie, I want to store it somewhere safe and store it on other devices. I also tried to cast it to my TV, they block me from casting/using screen mirror unless I have an Apple... I mean Chromecast device. I've been a fan of Google for some years, but this was one of the poorest experiences I've had from a Google product. Product's like this should be discouraging piracy by providing complete control of a bought product to its owner.

The app is constantly crashing, I have deleted the app and reinstalled. When the app is not crashing, I can not view the movies I have paid for and downloaded because it states "Couldn't fetch license..." So I'm expected to use cellular data to watch movies. However it would be SUPER if I could watch them when I'm on a airplane twice a week. I would really like a refund for every movie and tv show I have purchased.

The latest update broke several things (namely being able to get to TV shows) . Just read through the latest comments to find out. It still works if you do specific steps or reinstall the app, but I'm guessing it'll only be a matter of time before needing to jump through hoops to get to my content. Google really needs to hurry up with a fix. Also annoying is the inability to permanently remove movies and shows from my account, sure I can hide them temporarily, but not for good.

Did update now movies I purchased won't download or play (Wi-Fi or network) but is happy to let me know my time to view movie is ending. Google App keeps closing on me. Did a reinstall three times before things started working again but I have to download all my movies over again. Get your shampoo and fix those bugs google! Nobody has time for all this! Update 11/27 Stopped working again and won't work. Won't download movies and freezes up when trying to play. This is rediculous!!

Unsupported playback type and brighness completely turns off making it nearly impossible to see. Reached out to Google One for help. They sent me to LG. Funny, since Google Play is the only video app having problems. Google One isn't expensive at all and is a great idea in theory but, what is the point when you just get the run around?

Binge watch function does not work on my Pixel 2, iPad, Samsung TV, or Roku. This function used to work. I've submitted numerous feedback messages about this issue. I'm still waiting for a fix. I've contacted Google about this issue and the fix was to use the YouTube app. This is not a fix because if I'm watching something and I finish the season, YouTube, instead of starting the next season, plays some video or show that I do not own. Please fix the binge watch feature on this app.

I've had a terrible experience using this app so much so that I decided to uninstall it from my device. All my purchases are not getting downloaded and even if they do after many attempts, the next thing I see on the device screen when I tap the 'Play' button is some 'licence problem.' I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times but to no avail. Very poor, indeed.

Content is fine, but I have to re-download the app every couple times Itry to open it because it will just sit on the loading screen and not do anything. The only reason to keep re-downloading it is because I bought a bunch of TV shows through it. I'm on a (Note 9) I've tried force stopping it, I've tried restarting my phone and so far the only thing that works is uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Stopped working after months of perfect performance. Enjoyed watching some movies and one of my favorite tv shows untill the app just stopped working with no info as to why. The store doesn't load, my purchased movies show up perfectly fine and tv series show up fine. However, the episode lists do not populate with episodes; bought or unbought: everything past the info section is blank. I will not be investing more into this service as I can't be sure I will actually recieve what I paid for.

Not happy, went to watch a movie on my tablet via screen mirroring with a usb-c/ hdmi cable only to find out this is no longer available and can only watch it via chromecast. We have tried chromecast and have had nothing but problems. Bring back the option to use screen mirroring, have bought plenty of movies from google play to watch this way and now no longer able to.

The biggest issue I have with this app is that it doesn't work to cast to Chromecast through my Home Assistant. When I try to play a movie I own, it says it can't be found or isn't available right now. I switched from buying movies on Amazon for the Chromecast capabilities that don't work.

It's great when it actually works. Unfortunately, it only works about 30% of the time. The other 70%, when I open the app, it spins on the home screen and when I click my library, where I have some seasons of kids TV, it shows that I have the show in my library, but it does NOT show the episodes within the season of the show that I have purchased. I then have to close the app and try again, but usually I have to restart my phone for the app to work correctly, and that's not a reliable solution.

Pity Google can't match the functionality of their competitors. Works fine on phone both streaming and downloaded, but when casting to Chromecast, voices get out of sync with mouth movements. Update, still needs fixing, there was a work around of playing on phone and mirroring to screen, that's been disabled to make it even worse

I used to like this app. However, lately I have repeatedly attempted to download purchased movies and tv shows to my Samsung tablet, to no avail. I continue to get the message "Couldn't fetch license (error -1). I can download them to my Pixel 2XL phone with no problem. I have "Googled" this several times and tried the "suggested solutions," none of which work. This needs to be fixed!!!

Excellent app, however recently a bug has cropped up when using my chromecast. I can only watch one episode/movie via chromecast, then I have to disconnect from my chromecast, close the app, and then start the app all over again. I have tried on 2 seperate phones and 2 seperate tablets, and the problem persists.

If I could give this app zero stars, I would. Before Google updated Google Play the other day, everything worked fine. Now I have trouble playing content I purchased and can't seem to project any content at all. I am a high school English teacher and sometimes like to show clips of films and TV shows in class. Believe me, I'm not making any money off showing this content! When I connect to my projector, the video cuts out but we can here the audio still. Incredibly irritating!

Last few weeks it has been crashing all the time. Cannot play anything anymore. Some bad update must have messed it up. Absolutely love Google Play Movies but I can no longer use it. Luckily Youtube can play the content from Movies so I have a work around but when is this going to be fixed?

App will not run on my phone. Stalls on a black screen, will load my movie page but when I click it freezes, sometimes it will shut the app and say that it crashed, other it just stalls for hours and the buttons on the bottom of the screen become unresponsive. Fix this trash or refund the money I've spent. Edit: Tried to play the movie from the Play Store instead of the Movies and TV app and it says that it doesn't support mirroring, that I have to use chromecast? What the heck, Google? Serious.

Used to be good but now, they will not allow screen mirroring to a TV via usb-c/hdmi keeps saying gotta use a Chromecast. My family has nothing but trouble with Chromecast buffering , even my sons smart TV with Chromecast is a joke... even with updated software, we never had problems with mirroring our phones to our TV's.. Bring this option back We! paid a lot of money for the Movies and TV shows, We should not be forced to use Only Google products. That's called Monopoly.......

They just changed the settings you can't use your normal screen mirroring device to your tv anymore, have to have a chromecast. Been using the app for two years I've spent a lot money and bought several movies that I can no longer watch unless I pay more to get a Chromecast. Considering they could do this to me again at anytime with the next innovation, I'm calling it quits right now

You can only watch 4k if you own or purchase google sponsored products. I have almost a dozen ways to watch movies through this app and I have my family accounts connected as well. 4k is supported through YouTube but it will not broadcast 5.1, only 2 channel audio. For a tech giant such as this it leads to only one conclusion... GREED!

It's a reasonable app designed for Google Play movies and with good Chromecast abilities. It usually works very well for offline and online viewing. It has great subtitles (sometimes) and great information cards. The only issue I have with this is that the movies on Google Play don't always have subtitles. I consider this a huge issue that Google needs to deal with.

I have been using this app for probably 10 years. I own a ton of content here. Lately I have had problems with the homescreen not loading and, more importantly, my shows not playing. I really do not want to reinstall being that I have about 40 gigs of stuff downloaded. Please update.

Everytime i try to cast a movie no audio comes out and a prompt on the screen tells me that surrond sound is enabled no matter if surround sound is enabled or not on the tv regardless it doesnt work. I use my old phone with an older versiom of google movies and it works perfectly fine. Please fix!!!

Suddenly did not worked anymore in my S10+ 1tb edition. I bought exactly 100 movies from you and all of them were in my mobile memory not in a SD card. So, I reinstalled Play Movies and now it works again, nice. So why only 1 star? Because Play Movies shows all my movie Library but I need to download all of them again! Really? Really? Re download 100 movies that I downloaded before? THIS IS TOO MUCH GOOGLE PEOPLE.

After writing a complaint that the content wasn't available, I went to check again and it was there and loaded just as it always had. The purchased content was again available. I'm keeping the review at 4 stars, because this issue should never have happened in the first place, but I'm glad it's working again.

Not loading thought the movies app directly. Used to work flawlessly. Now whether I'm on my wireless provider network or home network, they both are miserable and wont load. I love this app in the past and own hundreds of movies and shows but I recently purchased a Samsung Note 10+ and the app crashes when I try to watch anything or go to my library or anywhere other then the home screen, I have tried clearing the data downloading and restarting the phone with no success. I have hundreds of titles that I have purchased over the time that i cant access. Once this issue is resolved I will update the review bcs another problem is that I cant get help or answer anywher.

22-11 have migrated flixster collection but Google Play Movies does not open. Seems to continually be opening app and does not show migrated library 25-10. Update, app doesn't open just buffers. Unable to see if migrated flixster films are there. Just buffers. Have updated to migrate my flixster collection over and used app for the first time. Nothing happens but a red spinning circle. Have uninstalled (as best I can as you can't remove it) and reinstalled but still the same circle. Any help?

It's sometimes gets errors but if you learn how to manually fix it than the app is pretty awesome. However the reason it gets 4 stars is for two reasons. Errors and lack of accessibility for the impaired of hard hearing. Talking subtitles here. Movies such as the Matrix doesn't even have them, not even the full triolgy of the hobbit has them. It's disappoints me and yet a little bit of me hopes that they read this review to maybe start adding in subtitles into more movies.

Been crashing since the new update. Won't load into the home page and I goes into my library and my tv shows episodes won't load. Been talking to 2 assistants both times when it crashed and they asked me to go the same thing uninstall it but it won't work. And I told them to the point they told me it's my phone not the app. But clearly I can see from everyone's comments they Lol have the same issue so please do us all a favour and give us a new update and fix this crash..

Since the app was updated on October 23, 2019, I'm not able to watch the movies I've bought and downloaded to my SD card on my Samsung Tab E. Can't un-install the app since it came preloaded on my tablet. I'm getting g error codes. I called Samsung and did a factory reset, talked to Google and even my cell phone provider (where I got the tablet when I upgraded my phone) and they all said they could not find anything wrong on the and I should the the other companies. It works on my android.

I understand it's Canada. I understand it's NOT the US. But the amount of movies available over the border to stream in 4K that are NOT available here, is somewhat frustrating. AND... there's no way to upgrade a title if you already own it. And yes, don't get me wrong. I love, love, love the fact that they upgrade us for free every once in awhile for titles. That is pretty awesome. But take more of my money if I'm stupid enough to want to upgrade to 4K after enjoying a title for years in HD!

I used to love this app it made everything so much easier. I have a smart tv and a s10 so I would just screen mirror my movies straight to my TV now I can't do that? It keeps telling me I need to use chrome cast. Why? It worked perfectly before and I used it that way for over 2 Years. It's really disappointing, I feel like I purchased all these movies for no reason. Would give 5 stars if they fixed it back to the way it was

Was an absolute perfect app until yesterday. Nothing loads. I've restarted my phone multiple times, restarted my TV multiple times to see if it was a chromecast issue, nothing. Not even the movies I've had purchased for a while. Tried it again today and still nothing. I'll change to 5 stars once issue is fixed.

Once again I was dumb enough to trust this service, even though it's failed miserably before many times. I just won't take it anymore. I can't watch my library movies, only when the stupid service feels like working. Clearing cache and all that doesn't work. This time I'm serious I'm not buying anything else here. I'll look somewhere else. I'll have to get used to my library being fragmented.

It is broken! I use a chromebook at work and recently, I stopped being able to show my google play movies from the google play platform. I downloaded this app when prompted to by google, and it'll play the SOUNDTRACK only. There is no video. I restarted my device and uninstalled/reinstalled without improvement. I have purchased at least 6 movies that I cannot watch from my chromebook.

This app is a joke at its best, want to download something well to bad for you it'll never go past preparing to download and if it does it gets 50mb then stops downloading. You know because movies and TV are clearly less than that. If this app was new I would be understanding about it but this problem has been going on as far back as 2014.... That's basically 6 years ago and you still can't figure this out. Really!?

Did all the steps requested and still doeant work. I installed and reinstalled the app and still nothing. I no longer can download half of the movies I have purchased which I had downloaded in the past. For the ones I have been able to download, the show a licensing error and wont play. It's not a bufffering or network lag issue, it's a. error that is preventing me for downloading some movies. 4/16/19

Same issues as a lot of people (with no replies to their ratings): Binge watch is not working and captions keep showing up even though they are turned off. I've never experienced any issues with the app until the most recent update. Pretty disappointing. 8/31 edit: Binge watch finally working again. 10/10 edit: Binge-watching doesn't continue between seasons, I have to manually start a new season. I've noticed this going on for at least a couple of weeks now.

This app was awesome! No problems. Dropped a star because problems started. I can't play any of my movies now because a message pops up that says, "This type of playback isn't supported To play this video on another device, you'll need to use Chromecast instead of mirroring," even when I'm just trying to play them on my phone. Hey ya'll! Great app for playing TV and movies - maybe even the best in my opinion. The only issue is that I'll get a lot of random errors along the lines of chromecast and mirroring even when I don't mess with the settings or app whatsoever. After three days of restarting my device and this app, I finally got rid of the error and could watch my shows again — if anyone has a similar issue, simply uninstall Google play movies, shut down your phone, turn it back on and reinstall.

I'm actually quite satisfied with this app. You can either rent or buy a movie, watch it legally. However, I think there are much more thing to be improved. I realized most movies available in Google Play Movie are Hollywood. I hope you can add for Japanese movies too. Last time I searched for 5 cm Per Second and Ghibli's and I can't watch it there. Even movies in my country. 🇮🇩😅 They're listed, but no option to be rented or bought.

If you ever have to switch accounts for any reason Google will REFUSE to allow you to transfer your purchases to your new account. I finally got tired of fighting spam in my inbox after trying multitudes of manual spam filters, and scouring the internet for tips. But, because the email domains used are randomly generated and subject lines are never the same I have been unable to effectively mitigate all the spam. Reporting them to Google is no help either. So, I began the arduous process of migrating 15 years of my life and data from one Google account to another, only to end up in a battle with Google and them telling me "it's not possible" to transfer or migrate my purchase history, or any other data from my account, from one account to another. This is an outright lie as other service providers have already done so, most notably Movies Anywhere, who I previously mentioned, who was more than happy to migrate my data for me to a new account. Google is just refusing to do so. I will be placing a call to corporate as well as filing a Better Business Bureau complaint.

The fact that they aggregate free content from services/subscriptions you're already paying for is worth the rating alone, some of this media I'd never discover on my own using each individual streaming app, so this adds additional value to what you're already paying for. Also love the minimalist yet very functional filter search toggles. Searching for Media whether it's Google's or a 3rd party is a cinch. I usually playback media in the android tv version but I have had no complaints.

Widescreen movies on phones with a notch look awful. Using an Essential phone on Android Pie. The app just isn't optimized for notched phones. An is example Thor Ragnarok, Interstellar, or Infinity War. I've resorted to using Amazon Videos for this sole reason as they give you the option to zoom. Edit: This same issue persists on Google's own Pixel 3 XL. Movies and shows need the ability to double-tap or pinch to zoom. Edit 2:. Same issue on Samsung s10+ and Pixel 4 XL.

English films never available in the original language. I'm living in Germany and thought I should change my location on google play, a bit of a mistake, now it's only worth watching native german language content and I have to go elsewhere for English-language content. You can only change your location once a year, and even if I were to do that, I wouldn't be able to download some local apps. Itunes, netflix, even local services like maxdome or t mobile often offer multiple languages.

Google Play Movies & Tv stopped working with the latest update; it circles and won't load the home page, all tv shows purchased are no longer accessible on Pixel 3 phone. Definitely wouldn't recommend until it's fixed. I've cleared caches, restarted my device. No joy.

It's great for watching content but I can't download movies properly. I purchased a 128GB SD card for the main purpose of downloading movies for offline watching. However, even after changing the storage settings to be the SD card, the movies are still downloading to my internal storage. No matter what I've done to fix the issue -- removed the SD card, uninstalled Play Movies, changed settings back to internal storage, the back to SD card, etc. I would really like to see this fixed. edit: fixed!

I love this app. Definitely my favorite. The only thing about Google Play Movies is that they don't have every movie that i am looking for. It's listed, but some movies i can't get, and just saids "add to wishlist." I movie i would like to get is Unplanned but it's not available as of right now. Not sure why because it's been out since February or March. I hope it gets added soon. Other than that, Google Play Movies is great.

I used to like this app a lot and gave it 5 stars. In my last review, there were some issues i didn't like and gave it 3 stars. Now I can't even watch my movies wirelessly off my phone to my TV. Why should i have to buy a chromecast device when I already had a device to enable me to watch movies wirelessly on my TV. If I have to pay to watch movies, I should at least be able to watch them on any device without limitations. Because of this limitation, I now only give it 2 stars.

Unable to open the app since last Update. Missing ABC Family series, and unable to watch movies in their original language even after set the language from German to English. I'd really like the opportunity of changing the languages just like on DVDs. Also it'd be nice to have far more LGBT movies and series!

i am no longer able to mirror to my tv via cable, can Google please explain why it is necessary to purchace chromecast now to do this? and dont give the usual "improved user experience" bs either. chromcast seems to have loads of quality issues. i should be able to cable my device to my old tv if i want to.

I want this bloatware off my devices. I find it massively offensive that so many of these pre-set apps cannot be uninstalled without some kind of workaround. Forcing users to have specific nonessential apps on their phones is kind of fascist, to be frank. At best, it's insulting and inconvenient. Please, just make it equally simple to uninstall all extraneous Google software.

G play has great music selection when you can get it to work. Constantly saying not enough free space on phone. You have to clear cache. Delete downloads. Restart phone. Sometimes remove apps from phone. All of that and still demanding more room. I finally found the answer. I unsubscribed from google play and went back to I-heart Radio.

Generally quite favorable, easy to navigate and use. However, during a migration of content, I'm finding a number of television episodes are not grouped together (they appear in Season 1, Season 1 - 6, or Season 1 - 7). It would be excellent if they would allow consolidation of these episodes into one category.

Every time I rent a movie, I have to ask for a refund because there is no video, only sound, upon rental. Doesn't matter if I use a different device, clear cache or reinstall the app. Such a disappointing waste of time. I don't think they're even trying to fix this. Longstanding problem with no fix. Thanks for stressing me out when I want to relax with a movie. After 2 years, I give up.

I have been using Google Play Movies for a good few years but since a recent update I can no longer load my homescreen, view my wishlist or even play any of the movies or TV shows which I had purchased or downloaded. None of the troubleshooting tips which are available online work. Beyond frustrated - please sort it out Google!

App keeps auto-disabling. The issue is frequently discussed online with no solutions. I've tried everything suggested, and never seen anyone post that a solution worked. Useless for watching when I don't have an internet connection (like on flights) because every time I want to watch I need to connect to the internet in order to enable the app.

Not playing video / movie. Always an error not being able to retrieve license. Trying to update. We will see... App now not opening... Used this feature for years, not sure what happened and lost a few movies along the way. Followed fix directions keeps coming up error 1 can't fetch licence. Also, going to the site to request a refund doesn't have account as a option to request a refund.

Totally useless for screen mirroring. Being a truck driver, I used this app and downloaded PURCHASED content to screen mirror to my smart tv without having to use a wifi connection. It worked flawlessly, until the update. Now when I try to screen mirror, I get an error stating I cannot screen mirror without a chromecast, which requires a wifi connection. Thanks Google. I now have several hundred dollars of content that is pretty much useless. I'll be buying my content from Amazon from now on.

I can't mirror movies from phone to TV anymore... now I need to use chrome cast .... if I wanted to purchase something else to use I might as well pay for internet... the benefit of buying movies on this app is to cast to screen from my phone and now that's gone... I don't need anything else with vudu or fandangonow 😔 hundreds of dollars on movies my kids can no longer watch... disappointing

Movie refused to download on wifi, so I used mobile data, which used up a lot of my plan. Then, to make matters worse, once it was downloaded it said it needed "to download more to play", even though it finished. Thanks for wasting 3GB of my data plan.

My preferred platform for buying movies and shows. Unfortunately many fake, spam and inappropriate reviews (people's addresses, absolute gibberish, complaints about costs as opposed to reviews of the product), which Google doesn't do anything about regardless of reports. Many shows lack captions/subtitles that are available on other providers, and many foreign shows don't have their original audio available.

I love the ease of having this app on every device and the family library is the best feature. My main issue is the sound volume and quality. I experience that no matter that streaming device I use the sound is more muted and lack punch or any real.highs or lows. I wish this was better or at least equal to other services like Netflix and Vudu.

Prior to 9.18.19 experience has been 5Star, I've invested time & money in Google Play to build a digital collection. The problem is you've taken away support for "Screen Share" in this update. I have Samsung TV's & phone + have used "Smart Screen" for years on a daily basis. It is far more practical & reliable to download my shows/movies to my phone's SD for watching anytime w/o streaming issues or degradation. I am unable to get ISP @my home & rely on 100gb 4G data/mo. for ALL of my TV viewing.

App has so much potential but it handles purchased TV content the worst of any streaming app out there. It doesn't keep track of what episode is next on one device let alone across multiple devices. It will often think that because you purchased an entire show you don't own a specific season. In others words you'll want to watch season 5 episode 6. You can't go directly there, instead you have to scroll through 200 episodes to get there. Also no names and descriptions only numbers for titles.

Android TV version of app doesn't let you select which Google account to use. It automatically chooses 1st account added to Android TV instead of the account that is active. I was unable to view a movie in Android TV app that I had rented through my phone, even though I made my account the active Google account. I shouldn't need to delete my wife's account from Android TV in order to use my own account.

I had no issues with this app until today when the "related titles" to 1940's Pride and Prejudice it showed me were pornographic movies! (Intermixed with kid shows I might add) I don't see how there could be any relation there, and my interests and activities are the opposite of pornography so I'm appalled that those images/ movies were shown to me as related to a wholesome movie. I'm extremely not happy with this app.

Was fine until a few days ago, I am now unable to watch purchased tv content. I have the latest version, I have cleared the cache, still nothing. Looking through the recent reviews I am not the only one.

The only reason why I got the Google daydream was to watch movies in VR, then they shut this app down for day dream, I travel alot so having my personal theater for plane rides and long road trips was amazing. Then On my most recent road trip I put my headset on and see that it disappeared was very disappointing, now I feel like I have no use for it 😤😔

Useless. Movies purchased cannot be cast on TV using Google's own Chromecast. No audio. This is apparently a rampant issue, looking at reddit and internet posts. But google is doing nothing. Support line is utterly useless, only suggests factory resetting my phone. I've tried on 2 Android and an iPhone and all of them have the same problem. How does factory resetting my phone fix the problem if it's not phone specific, but specific to google play movies?

Won't cast to Chromecast Ultra. I need to cast from browser. Tells me that I can't cast by mirroring... I'M NOT TRYING TO. I only figured it out when trying to refund a movie rental I couldn't play... Still couldn't figure out how to refund it. This used to be a really good and flawless app. But it seams buggy-er than the music app.. and that was nightmarish.. only thing this is usefull for is currently owned movies now.. cant rent, purchase,search, or even browse the app anymore. - Galaxy s10+

I rented something and started watching the first half last night and was surprised tonight when it said I only had 21 hours left to finish it. I thought I would have 48 hours starting after I FINISHED the film (you know, like the description clearly said) not after I STARTED it. False advertising. Change that description and stop lying to us.

Great app but..... I have the Samsung galaxy note 10+ and the aspect ratio is 19:9. So some of my movies don't fit the whole screen. The movies are cut off right below the camera. On my vudu app the movies are in full 19:9 aspect ratio. So I know it can be fixed. Please please send that firmware update....... Update.... It's August 27th .....can I get a response please....?...

Theres some king of fued with samsung and google. This app always shuts down on my samsung phone, and sometimes it opens the same app on the samsung app store(for other apps) also i cant stream to my tv from my samsung device with play movies because google says i should use chromecast instead of samsung screenmirror. Get yalls shid together.

Horrible since update.. Its wont let me screen view ( mirror ) to my tv anymore. Like others who are complaining i have invested a lot of money into my playlist of movies. The last update did away with that. I am very upset! I will NOT be purchasing Chromecast to watch my movies. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO! This is ridiculous! FIX IT!

I stopped using due to limited features. Use Vudu instead. Normally I'm a avid Google customer and used to use Google play movies extensively until I realized the quality was misleading. 4k is available but unsupported on most platforms, including all of mine, but Google never made that clear during playback, despite my paying more for 4k quality. Dolby atmos isn't available at all. I've now switched almost extensively to Vudu and never use Google play movies at all. I hope that can change.

I have bought several movies on this platform. I take issue with the downloading feature. It works inconsistently with Wi-Fi, even stable home connections. It will download portions of a movie and then suddenly stall saying "a network connection is required". The app also falsely claims there is insufficient storage space. Currently unable to download a 6gb movie when the app clearly says I have over 20gb of free storage space.

Consistantly crashing. Can't watch what I paid for and always an error code. With none and all devices logged on to network. Can't access what I paid for with a WiFi with nothing in it? Not even my phone? Why did I pay for the film? Please consumers, don't buy movies through Google play, you'll be disappointed. Can't play when alone, or with 4 TV's on the network? I want my money back for the movies I bought and can't watch. Credit my account and I'll be happy. Please give me back my money.

I will never again buy a film from Google. They do not allow you to download it to watch on a PC - you have to stream it instead. That's fine if you have a perfect internet connection with unlimited data. Otherwise the film-quality is hopelessly unreliable. Only a snake-oil salesman would call this purchasing a film.

After subscribing to various streaming apps for several months, I soon became bored with the lack of current blockbuster movies that were available. Thankfully with Google Play Movies and TV app, there is always something available to suit everyone in the household at any given time. I've found this app more useful than others for that reason, and would rather pay as I watch than subscribe monthly for movies and TV shows that are outdated as soon as they're released, in many instances.

Nothing works. Everything I've purchased tv shows and movies will not work. I don't even have an option to play my tv shows like the movie section of my library. The movies won't load including the home screen so it's basically useless. Won't work on my android or iphone.

This app works every time without fail and I use a shity old tablet. Some of the new releases are a bit steep in price but meh, they go down in price over time, the tv shows should definitely be a bit cheaper. Some are old now and still expensive. Apart from that... Never had any issues.

Great selection but could use some additional features. I would love the ability to make a playlist from the tv shows and movies I've bought, or at least be able to set up a queue list. My daughter is obsessed with holifays a d I wish I could put all the Halloween, Christmas, etc episodes into their own playlist so they are easy to access one after the other. I also wish you could view just the items you have purchased rather than having to see all the episodes of every season.

Amazing only for renting movies. Do not buy episodes or seasons though. I purchased a season of Friday night dinner but you can get it for free elsewhere. So it's only good for renting movies.

The app keeps crashing and disappearing from my phone (happened in 2 phones). I have to keep going on play store and enabling the app for it to reappear. Even during watching series or movies. There is a bug to fix guys, please. (Doesn't happen to any other apps on my phones. Reinstalling didn't help).

thr app will open but will not show any episodes of shows i own, or new titles to buy. only way i can get episodes to open is if i had them previously downloaded and turn my phone on airplane mode. have had the problem since the latest update. any help would be nice as i prefer google play as my movie/show hub for purchases.

I can play movies on my phone, however, when I open Google Play Movies to watch movies on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8, the movie will buffer then freeze and remain stuck with the Google Play movie app open but frozen. And with the app frozen, I have to wait until my battery dies in order to have my tablet fully operational again, are there any suggestions other than updating the app because the app does not appear to need any updates.

It would be way nicer if the library only showed episodes I owned. Having to scroll through all the episodes I don't own is a real chore and doesn't entice me to buy them or entice me to continue to use the app.

Once you’ve added a film to your library it’s there forever. It’s not possible to delete movies or tv shows by any means 7 years of play movies and this simple function is not available. Not even Apple is this late to a party I rue the day I accepted Play Movies ’gift’ of free content, cluttering up my library until they add the feature or I delete my account

I had high hopes for this app. I bought a couple hundred dollars of content so I could download it because my internet sucks and my movies don't work after a couple of days it says cannot fetch license I need to re download to fix it and then it does it again. So I won't be wasting anymore money on movies till it's fixed I hope this was helpful. UPDATE to this review due to an update I can no longer use my smart view to play movies I have PURCHASED!! On my tv It is not allowed anymore

This is a great app without the updates. Your updates froze part of the fun tonality, preventing it from working. When I uninstalled your updates, everything went back to normal. Fix the stupid updates. Thx.
