I've been playing this game for 4 of 5 years i love it but there's flaws. Especially 1 reoccurring flaw. There's consistent slowness for years. I've put this game on my gaming desktop & the programming is slow. The slowest I've played of other games, so many menus & options have 5-10 second loading screens. U can't reality just jump in the game if u have a minute or 2. Now, fort couple months, after battles, there's blank screen that last up to 20 secs or crash the app. Auto battles stop.

Love the game (not anymore), but a lot of connection problems and its not my internet. Loadings taking forever... whats happening!? I can't play like that. NOT TO MENTION THE WORST STAMINA SYSTEM EVER!!! HUNDREDS OF DUNGEONS TO PLAY AND I CAN ONLY PLAY LIKE 2 OR 3 DUNGEONS AT A TIME! RIDICULOUS! DEADLY UNFAIR YOU ROTTEN DEVS! Changing to -9999 stars! Mobile FF games are garbage! And ULTRA PAY TO WIN! YOU CAN'T GET THE BEST EQUIPMENTS IF YOU DON'T PAY!

This app is AMAZING. I discovered Final Fantasy for the first time a year ago, and have enjoyed every bit of it. The story is amazing, the bosses and dungeons are spot on, and trying to get good relics for soul breaks and upgrades is addicting. The sheer number of unlockable characters and their unique abilities and animations is awesome. Would recommend this app to any Final Fantasy or RPG fan. This game is still getting updates to this day, which is amazing. Good work. Amazing game.

I downloaded this game awhile back and it was slow as heck. Still is today sadly. When I first played the game I had a cheap phone and I thought that was the problem. Just recently I bought a Samsung galaxy note 10 and decided to give this game another try. Nope still slow as heck, and load times are a pretty long wait for a mobile game. I like the game play and all but I feel like the developers don't care much for the game anymore. After all these years I thought there would be improvements...

Great game, but constantly starts flashing and crashes or stays in a black screen lately. It happens often enough to have been a thing several times a day, everyday recently.

Well scratch that last review the new updates have added some new stuff to make the game feel a bit fresh. I just hope they add more quality of life stuff so that we don't have to sit through so many load screens. I also wish the bosses had more variety in terms of strategy. Most of them involve debugging, attacking during damage phases then pray to God you prepared to survive their overpowered attacks, repeat. They don't even have weaknesses u have to make ur own :/

  17. Marquis Martin-avatar

    Marquis Martin

My favorite mobile game of all time, would've gave 5 starts but the only thing I don't like is the early game mechanics. Mainly, the Realm Dungeons. They are time consuming, repetitive and boring. You fight pointless enemies before a boss which is so time consuming. I feel as though a overhaul needs to be made to make it a smoother experience instead of feeling like a headache. Not sure why you have to fight 3 waves of 3 enemies each dungeon. Should just be one 3 wave each dungeon.

  18. Lupine Dream-avatar

    Lupine Dream

Square Enix seems to have learned their lesson from scamming people over Kingdom Hearts dark Road and as to complete that title you will basically need to be a higher income bracket. The purchases in this game in the way of the packs made available are reasonable and will get you through the game without any problems. I'm surprised it's a good game and it's not a scam. For once offering a reasonable $60 for a software license will allow you to conplete Record Keeper.

  19. Cory Yee-avatar

    Cory Yee

Been playing since 5 years ago and haven't stopped since. I've tried all the FF mobile only games and this is the only one I still play - it's the only one that's completely beatable F2P. It's also the most generous mobile game I've ever played! Check out the subreddit, the community is extremely helpful and there's no toxicity to be found! Can't say that for other games. Despite this game being F2P, I bought a pack to support it because the dev's listen and this game has always been improving.

It's certainly not because regional block, because i can download it from play store, but the pl issue I've always have is the loading screen took so long, some ppl at forum recommend it using vpn to play, that solve the problem but still for me it's not really a solution, some ppl encounter similar problem Nevertheless this is a great final fantasy game, it's deserve the title "Record Keeper" for all final fantasy fans out there who want to rekindle their past story with their memorable series

  21. rpepp22-avatar

I've been playing this from the beginning and I just can't get over the fact that this is a gambling game. When you buy gems (please dont waste your time) you barely get any good weapons. Plus they do a daily draw and 9/10 you get something completely worthless. They also constantly do draws but you can never afford them cause you have to use mythril for everything including relic draws. I hope they change these issues, probably not cause it's clearly a gambling type game disguised as a rpg.

  22. Schan-avatar

Love the game and have been playing over three years. For new players there is a bit of a learning curve and a healthy dose of sodium for the "RNG" to get items critical to progression (mostly end game). However, I am 99.9% F2P and feel like with the proper resource management, you get good longevity with the game and reasonable power creep.

  23. Hauke Peer Sawallisch-avatar

    Hauke Peer Sawallisch

5 years and still going strong. Gacha is generous and many banners are discounted and regularly reset/updated. The banners of the current era allow you to completely rinse through 80% of content with ease. I've been playing since launch and still struggling in endgame, though might be I'm struggling for mythril to pull on new banners consistently in order to advance my meta game. New players will not have this problem. Battles are ATB based like the good old days. SB's are pretty. 10/10.

  24. Irrisher-avatar

So there are so many different currencies in the game. But it's a good throwback to some of my favourite final fantasies that I enjoyed when I was younger. I have just begun so later on I may very well increase or decrease the rating depending on the paywalls in the game.

  25. James Krik-avatar

    James Krik

Too tedious. This game takes so long to get anywhere it's so overwhelmingly repetitive with a garbage stamina system that makes it feel like progression is non existent and pointless, I have been playing for year's and I still can't complete anything no event's or story mode too pay wall never even one it's disappointing Mobius was a better mobile the original Final Fantasy on NES is still better no gambling money for possible progression there.

  26. Life of Yooms-avatar

    Life of Yooms

I wish there were more cut scenes from FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX. The storyline's pretty good and the characters are cute. I'm still new at playing this game, so I'm still unsure if this game allows you to play online with other people. So far I'm enjoying it 😊

  27. antonioiii Elarmo-avatar

Its a really good game and ff series based, its not bias nor unbalanced, tons of freebies too and really fun I just hope there is some readable ingame option for quick info about the items, skills, etc. Overall a great game God bless you guys and more power. I recommend this game.

  28. David Van-avatar

    David Van

It's amazing for a gatcha game, and it's very kind to F2P players. I've played for 4ish years and I check in daily. It's a bit more complex and there's lots to figure out, but r/FFRecordKeeper is an awesome community and will help you figure things out.

  29. Yupo Kam-avatar

Haven't played it yet but it looks good!!! Hopefully gameplay is good and it runs well on my phone✌️ PS: I'm kinda disappointed that ffmobius was closed down, I played that game for about 4 years...😑 I wish we could retreive our save and somehow play offline because the gameplay was beautiful 🤯

  30. Eschatological-avatar

Game would've been good if it weren't for the unoptimized client and horrible loading times. My internet connection is just fine and yet I still can't get past the title screen. I could've used that wasted 30mins for other things instead.

  31. Mark D-avatar

Fun to an extent...Easily hack your way through lower levels, but as soon as an event becomes active you'll be extremely out matched and unable to participate in anything other than mindless clicking without spending money.

  32. Doug Wood-avatar

    Doug Wood

Great is not a powerful enough word to describe this game. It's the nostalgia of all my favorite classic final fantasy games mixed with a taste of the new era's take of the series! Cannot put this game down. I've been playing for a couple days now and haven't seen a single add or an overpowering pressence to get you to buy in game currency. I've managed to get most of my favorite characters without investing, but the temptation to get some gems to get the higher tier weapons quicker is real!

  33. The Unfiltered-avatar

    The Unfiltered

By far the best of all the mobile games. And running special series based and mixed series based teams is my favorite part. Played a few years back, was away, and restarted again with many new features including some haven't quite figured outnuet

  34. Shiva Shiham-avatar

    Shiva Shiham

I've had a mediocre experience with gacha games before, so I was hesitant to get this game, despite being a big Final Fantasy fan. I was wrong. The game has loads of permanent content for you to tackle (I've been playing for a year and still haven't finished), a gacha system that allows you to clear end-game content without the newest relics, and gameplay that uses the traditional ATB system. Also extensively reading enemy AI scripts for 6* magicites - you'll being doing that a lot. 11/10

  35. Wilianto Asna Hendrawan-avatar

    Wilianto Asna Hendrawan

Honestly, best mobile phone game ive ever played. Hands down one of the most f2p friendly game. I pay sometimes but tbh i dont have to. Most harder content are permanent. Most of the stuff are balance imo. Unlike other game where new stuff are totally OP. Yes new stuffs are better, but you wont be left behind if you fail to get it. Aside from the poor bit char, this game is amazing. Ive been playing since the release and totally recommend it

  36. BZking24-avatar

Please bring back Kingdom Hearts to the game! I want to get everyone available like Sora, Riku, and Lea :D Frrl plz bring back Kingdom Hearts ;-; I want all the characters, alternate costumes, and equipment. They all look so awesome and I'm a huge fan of Kingdom Hearts lol :3

  37. Derek Cloutier-avatar

No idea why i dropped thos game 5 years ago, i wish i stayed with far my favorite mobile. Never makes it necessary to spend, the nostalgia is real. Only draw back is loading times, reward screens ect. Spend more time between fights than in them.

  38. Veronica Hollmon-avatar

    Veronica Hollmon

You will most definitely grind to get stronger, but there is no shortage of content. Plenty of opportunities to earn mythril so you don't feel pressured to buy store currency. I absolutely love this game.

  39. Blaze lover777-avatar

    Blaze lover777

It's super fun but there's a lot of bug that need to be worked out mainly the audio sometimes the sounds glitches out and loading takes longer the more further I get in the game it get so slow it with each update.

  40. DragoonX-avatar

Pretty fun, as long as the 15 mithril summon remains a thing. If it reverts to 50 and stays 50 at some point then I will not play it anymore. I feel they can maybe update the backgrounds to not be so flat, and tweak the character sprites. It looks a little too simple. If they made it kind of look like FFBE that would be great! 5 star for now.

  41. Genghis Ham-avatar

    Genghis Ham

It's a great game, providing many opportunities for nostalgia and spoilers, and for the most part it's pretty polished and well-made. However, the combat is a little too simple early on. Combat mechanics like Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia are much more interesting. Audio cuts out randomly as well. I can fix that by switching apps, but occasionally the sfx/music glitches out. Can't find a solution online.

  42. Mike Boudreau-avatar

    Mike Boudreau

This is the hands down the greatest final fantasy game I've ever played, honestly once you start collecting some good characters and limit breaks and make your way into endgame content it's fun and challenging and super rewarding. If you loved the final fantasy V and VI Era of RPG's I guarantee you'll love this game. Give it a chance, save your Mythril for (50 draws) so you guarantee at least 1 powerful new weapon, just my suggestion.

  43. v x-avatar

    v x

I really wanted to like this game, however it has a few major flaws that prevent me from properly enjoying it. First off, there is no way to reset your progress. This is one of the biggest problems that I have because I haven't played the game in years and the game is just way to complex to just jump into after not playing for that long. Second, the loading times are atrocious, especially considering the games pixelated art style. I have no problem with this art style, the problem that I have is that there is no reason for the load times to be as bad as they are when the graphics are that simple. There is even a simple fix for this, just let the player predownload all the games assets either to their internal storage or their sd card if they have one, this would even help people play the game more if they have data caps on their internet access. The third and final issue is optimization, The game has performance and stability issues. It lags at times and crashes a lot despite the fact that there are games that both look better and have even more complex gameplay that work just fine on both my phone and my tablet.

  44. Jay Tackett-avatar

    Jay Tackett

I loved this game when it first came out but after taking some time off from playing it has become so complicated that it is nearly unplayable for me know. I wish I could clear my game and start over. This was such an amazing game. It's very sad that its become so overly complicated.

  45. Jonathan Gille-avatar

    Jonathan Gille

Very fun game, once you learn how to unlock heros from whichever version of FF you lived most it just gets even better. Unlocking starter 5 star weapons can be done thru the record quest which helps you to really unlock heros ability. This method also works for getting specific hero level break Crystal's. Only downside is it takes a long while to unlock multiplayer. Story's and music stay very true to the original games as well. Ending note if you are a diehard fan get this app.

  46. Hooty-avatar

Great for any Final Fantasy fan! Lots of charm in the sprites and characters! I really enjoy the old Rpg feel to it when it comes to the dungeons, weapons, equipment, magic, etc. Really embraces the f2p scene. It is still gatcha game, but microtransactions don't feel overbearingly required like other gatcha games. Highly recommend.

  47. Adam Antczak-avatar

    Adam Antczak

Its unbelievable that this game is free, you get access to all content in the game and the only microtransactions are for extra relic pulls to get strong 'soul breaks' for various heroes, and the devs give out a lot of free currency to use these pulls anyway. There is a lot to do and you can use pretty much any character from any mainstream final fantasy game and some spinoffs like Tactics. Really recommend.

  48. Matt Dilling-avatar

    Matt Dilling

I'm heavy into playing FFEV so I decided to give this game a try. I'm still very early into it, but I am loving it. It's got a real nostalgic look and feel to it and that brings a big smile. Easy to get characters, easy to make a good team, easy to play all together. Cannot recommend it enough

  49. Kalzock-avatar

This game is definitely a great one and I can't wait for future updates! I have a suggestion for an update if you would mind. You know how some people miss an event that they wanted or something else? Well maybe you guys should add some sort of a crystal or ticket that opens up some past events. And the only way to get it is through a "moderate" boss (since some people dont have good stuff). I dont know but anyways have a nice day!

  50. Matthew Staffen-avatar

    Matthew Staffen

Games is very addictive but also only pay to win. Don't let ppl fool you there is 0 chance that can actually get good gear without spending money. You can't even grind a final fantasy staple without spending money just to greedy of a game.

  51. Truth Seeker-avatar

    Truth Seeker

Awesome I love this game it takes the best epic moments of all the final fantasy and let's u experience it and u can play with characters u couldn't play with in the normal games like Rufus from vii. Thank u guys for making this game.....

  52. Jon L-avatar

    Jon L

Its hard to recommend this game with just how crazy the powercreep is and the fact it has alot of major issues: long loading, annoying inventory management, and overall dated UI that begs for an update. However, I must say the music, graphics, gameplay are generally pretty good. Id love to see a FFRK 2 with just overhauled systems and definetely ditch the weapon gacha in favor of hero gacha (perhaps how romancing saga re does it).

Hallo Dev I having so much trouble playing this game lately. Since 2 days ago I found so hard to understanding the blank screen like 5 mins, sometimes I have to force close the apps and in again but still can't play Loading screen takes 5 mins sometimes more. And always kicking me out while playing The worst experience I ever have till now I play using iPad Pro 2 btw

  54. Kristopher Arbayo-avatar

My first experience with this game was bad. The drope rates were awful. But after giving it some time and coming back to it. I really enjoy it. They must have increased drops rate because collecting 5☆+ relics has become much more common.

  55. Daniel Bennett-avatar

    Daniel Bennett

Good gacha game. While grindy F2P is easily executed. A little patience will go a long way. Expect to be able to start clearing end game content in two weeks of daily play.

  56. Dan Puza-avatar

    Dan Puza

More time is spent waiting for loading screens between every little thing and for "stamina points" (MTX) than there is any actual gameplay. A "stage" has 3 battles, with 2 or more 15 second loading screens before & after each battle. Then the battles last like 10 seconds and auto-play themselves. Completely unbalanced, you destroy EVERYTHING and are untouchable. Not fun. Pros: The music it uses from all the FF games. Collecting (grinding for...) characters from all the FF games.

  57. Ahmad Afif Isa-avatar

Decent replacement for Mobius FF which was recently shut down. It has a familiar feel with the daily grind and characters you know and love. Just gotta learn these mobile games can be shuttered at any time, enjoy while they last, and don't spend money on Gacha your can't afford.

What a fantastic game! I was blown away with the amount of effort Square-Enix put into this. I'm a huge Final Fantasy nerd so Record Keeper is exactly the mobile game for me. I love the nostalgia and how I can play for 10 minutes or 2 hours. 10/10

Uninstalled this (as well as Brave Exvius) in favor of Dissidia - there are just too many currencies to keep track of and it's rather overwhelming. It's not a bad game and the nostalgia factor is amazing but I would suggest Dissidia Opera Omnia over the others .

I have been playing this game since the day of it's release and as a true Final Fantasy fan i have to say it is probably the best game on the app store. It is in no way pay to win, altough there are ingame purchases, they are in no way required to play this game to the fullest. In the beggining this was not true, but the devs have since made it much more fair. I still think the prices are a bit much, hence why i have made almost no purchases over the years, but since the gameplay no longer relies so heavily on these purchases it has much improved. I recommend this game to any final fantasy fans or anyone that simply loves the classic rpg gameplay. It is surprisingly challenging and very fun !

If you're a Final Fantasy fan, you'll probably love this game. Also, I'm impressed with the content still coming out of this game after 5 years. They really gave us a lot of fun and prizes while we've all been quarantined due to COVID-19. Keeping us smiling!

This game of FF series is a bit better than FFBEWoV, is the reason im giving a second try. Yes, it loads and loads and loads like nobodys business, I hope this will be the issue of you dev's discussion to fix on. Apart from that all other seems good.

The game is interesting, but overwhelming and unintuitive. It has some gacha components with the relics. I enjoy FF, and I like the concept of the game, but I'd honestly enjoy it a lot more if there wasn't an overwhelming amount of stuff to upgrade, perform, and grasp mechanically. I was hoping for an experience similar to most FF games, most likely. Regardless, the game just isn't for me. But it has inspired me to play through the other games again!

First year player, contribute some money for this game, love it. But lately this game kinda hating the player, i know there is RNG factor in gacha, but the amount of dupe after multiple pull, multiple occassion, span of time make me angry.

Absolutely LOVE this game. I would give it 5 stars except the horrendous load times and frequent crashes. The story arc is very entertaining, as well as revisiting all my favorite FF tittles and their stories, and it's pretty cool to get some story of FF tittles I haven't played yet. Also, the developers really seem to respond well to the complaints of their player base (keeping in mind that they can't fix everything right away). Would highly recommend this game to anyone.

I used to play this game before and they've added some things. I lost my old account and had to start over, and while at first everything looked so different I was a bit overwhelmed, it's still a easy to navigate. The only thing I lament is the unskippable scrolling text scenes [particularly the ones I've already seen] but ultimately that hasn't hindered my enjoyment much. The story also doesn't feel uninspired as so many other mobile games. A fresh take with your favorite characters.

Its a shame that to get the items needed to learn skills you essentially need to gamble with real money. Right... Updating review. Servers have gone from bad, to freakin useless. Constant disconnects, hanging loads and log in failures... Just awful. Don't waste your time until it's fixed.

Game itself is very fun. Recently went back to play after a long hiatus but, unfortunately, game is now requiring an account (google account) and wants to know your name, email address and phone number to play? Really, to play a video game? This was never the case in the past. I understand that it's an online game but why not just offer in-game account login instead of snooping personal info? Definitely shady and have since uninstalled. Recommend you avoid.

For quite a while, FFRK is a pretty damn fun game. You have loads of options when customizing your party, there are over 200 available characters to use across every FF related game under the sun, and the gameplay is fluid, fun, and balanced. But after a certain point, progression comes to a screeching halt. You have to spend dozens if not hundreds of hours to clear the later content and even then you'll just barely squeak by. You basically have to spend money to progress. TLDR: Try it out

This game is really fun and easy to play. Even though the graphics aren't the best it takes you back to the NES days of Final Fantasy. You can easily assemble your dream team. Not just of heroes but villains as well. You revisit some of the most memorable moments of your favorite Final Fantasy games. Is there some grinding involved? Of course but that's par for course in any rpg. Is it undauntingly difficult? Not at all. Each dungeon gives you the information you need to breeze through it.

Played this in 2016 and didn't play again until now and there's so many things that upgraded and added to this. All I could say is, big wow!! I'm very impressed with this game and I enjoy playing this so much. Was overwhelmed with more stuff like the corrupted paintings. I loved the stories with plus motion effects to EVERYTHING and the battle effect in movies are awesome!! Monsters and heros coming to life in modern times mixed with ffiv animation? I love it!! I'm a final fantasy die hard fan player only up until ffxii, i haven't played any series past that, but it's neat peeking at game characters I haven't played yet and the events! Huge kudos to the game developers! Thank you for the app! I'm hooked! Thank you for your hard work!

The game has a great concept, and unlocking characters is either through certain level rewards or through use of an item and you can choose them, so that's great. The only issues I find personally is the load times and the navigation through the item draws. Loading takes a long while even with a strong signal, and often downloads on the newer levels when you play which adds to the load time and makes loading new levels with limited data a bit of an issue. The navigation of the item draws is a bit confusing, there's gems and mithril to be used for them and it's hard to tell which item draws only allow for gems and which are only mitril, and you have to open the screen which leads to more issues with the loading time when you change screens...otherwise it's a great game with an awesome concept, I can't wait to see how it evolves and grows.

I've been a longtime player of this game. it's one of the best FF android games in my opinion. i do however have one request. I'd like to be able to change my characters equipment without having them in the party. it's kind of a pain to go through piece by piece to equip my characters with equipment that they learn abilities from.

  109. I_Am_Dragoon-avatar

A great game that invokes tons of nostalgia for me. I grew up with the FF games and going through different scenes with all those characters is great. The gameplay is good, and the Gacha isn't too bad thanks to various events that guarentee quality gear, and there's always the realm draws that are cheap. Overall it is Much better then Opera Omnia. That game leaves out 90% of a character's arsenal, each character only 2 "specials" , and made up lazy moves to replace iconic ones. And 32bit>Chibi3D

Great game to bring you back to the Retro Final Fantasy in its glory days and you can use characters from any game on 1 team but then they ran out of games to replay so it ended for me. The problem is loading times are terrible, you can't move there is no overworld and you can't move around in dungeons it's only battles that you just spam because normal enemies don't have a chance this game is only made for the boss fights. You also have no items so White Magic is required to heal and status effects are the worst. Characters are really unbalanced they can have like 6 different job skills they can use at max level while the Core Classes like Black and White Mage can only use their 1 specialty only up to 4 star and their stats are low they should be the only ones to use the highest of that job's skills since they specialize in it. It's just not fair also please flip the abilities and soul breaks around why can you use 4 soul breaks and only 2 abilities each character? I quit about 2 years ago so maybe they did I'll check it out later if they fixed anything I had here. The game is just boring until you get to the boss why even have regular enemies if there isn't a dungeon. Also there's no store and you have to wait until an event with the game of a certain character comes out to have a chance of getting the soul break you want.

They should have cut scenes once you restore a record in the campaign instead of just a picture and description. Also, in the special dungeons/ airship missions, Tyro should give a brief summary after you clear a corrupted painting. Very nostalgic seeing the different FF games in this pixel form. Fairly decent too whether one is a small time gemmer/f2p or whale. Lots of incentives to give a player advantages. Some mechanics might be a bit difficult but still a nice challenge. Careful of chasing relics though, not advisable to do so. Its also ok if one can't complete all events, as long as you're enjoying. Overall, a nice pastime and great memorable game! Thanks FFRK, SQEX, DeNA!

If you are a fan of old school Final Fantasy games, you'll love this one! I've been playing it for years and still love it. Its very free to play friendly. Most of the content you need the latest and greatest relics to beat ends up becoming permanent game content or recurring content, so if you can't beat it when it launches and don't want to spend money, no problem, just wait a few months and all the free pulls you get alongside slow and steady power creep as the game progresses will get you caught up! The nice thing about this game that makes it easy for new players to get into is all the current banners we can pull on offer up the newest and best relics available, so right from the start you have access to the same top tier relics veteran players do. There is no need to spend months or even years grinding away hopelessly trying to catch up to everyone else just because you weren't around since day 1.

Used to be amazing I have been playing it since 2 weeks after the public release. However as of late it's as if they just stopped caring. The game crashes probably every 15-20 minutes. Relic draws which some are possible to be free, most are not though have become downright disgusting. the percentage of a good drop is unfeasible and theres no good way to get mythril (the free way) once you beat all realms. Motes that's the next big issue... 5 star motes are damn near impossible to come by.

  118. Amanda Vidican-avatar

    Amanda Vidican

Ive played this game since launch. and really liked it for a long time. However its become difficult to progress to the higher content, because certain realms just lack the proper buffs to succeed. They've become quite stingy with their relic draws aswell. ive only gotten 1 decent relic everytime I draw. and the purchase option is 30$. And im sorry. But 30$ for one relic is absolutely ridiculous.

I can't fathom how this company makes money at all. The game is excellent in terms of gameplay and balance. 5 years going and it's crazy how fast the update rolls, yet it doesn't powercreep everything. And the progression curve is very very steep. So expect around 50 60 hours of gameplay before you reach the saturation point, and another maybe 200 hours before you get bored.

As of 9/14/18, the app runs again on 9.0. The game still suffers, however, from excessive load times and menu lag on older Android OS versions, and from crashiness and flickering menus on 9.0. It's painfully obvious that iOS is DeNA's priority, but it's frustrating that the developer doesn't even seem to play-test the app on Pie. I'm used to developers dropping support for older OSes--not repeatedly breaking the game for the latest update. This is all a shame because I enjoy the nostalgic feeling of gathering FF characters and relics. FFRK also has one of the fairest gacha systems out of all the mobile games I've played, and it's extraordinarily generous with its F2P currency. My only real qualm with the game itself (independent of its red-headed stepchild status on Android) is that the gacha is equipment-based rather than character-based, so you can get your favourite character(s) but you may not be able to use them if you lack equipment for them, or if their equipment isn't useful in the current meta (I'm begging you, DeNA, give Haurchefant some love...).

She has no 5 star capabilities, very few unique weapons/equipments and her stats are not very good. I know this is a really specific request and not every character is meant to be good- but can you guys show her some love please?

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!! It's not only an AMAZING quality for a free game, it hasn't bombarded me with advertisements or in-game purchases like other "free" games. It is mostly just battle after battle but there is a dungeon set that does let you relive the stories of the of the other games in not only a condensed format but including your main character (Tyro) as part of the narrative! The best part is ofcourse the fact it uses ALL of the original game soundtracks on top of it's own new OST remixes

I only had this game for a few days, and even late-game, I'll feel the same way. This is a high-tier casual game that basically just reiterates the FF franchise with it's own battle system(which is spot on similar to the original series). I only gave it a 4* because there is too much thrown at the player when they start doing things or going into new areas for new players. Ignoring that, this game easily made it in my top 3 games on Android! Extremely well made! And somehow incredibly addictive.

  126. Breathless-avatar

The basic concept is a good idea, but I fear the game has come a little too far since then: branched off into too many endgame/side activities, with too many skills and other equips to prepare way too many characters for way too many fights. I'm feeling too lost as to where to go and what to do at any given point; a little more focus, streamlining, and polish would perhaps serve the game better than a seemingly infinite amount of bloat just for the sake of more additions.

It broke my heart to uninstall this game, because I loved it so much. I played it every day and got to a very high level. But after 6 months I couldn't ignore the frustration at how incredibly slow everything takes to load. This game takes at least twice as long as even the most graphically intensive games. And EVERYTHING needs to load, even simply going from one menu to another. I knew if I kept playing I would eventually hate this game, and I didn't want that. I beg of you to please fix this.

This game shouldn't be so good for a mobile offering. It has some of the best strategic elements of any Final Fantasy game, the gacha is there but it's very forgiving. Excellent F2P turn-based RPG with surprising depth and an active community base. There is the option for buying a special in-game currency, but everything can be acquired using Mythril - currency you get for playing the game. There's also seasonal events and other events focusing on specific entries in the FF franchise. If you like the old-fashioned, turn-based RPG gameplay of older Final Fantasy titles, this game is for you! Also, bonus points for using the FFVI sprite style.

This game is pretty cool, but some of the dungeons are literally impossible because your can't level up before going into them. I love this game! It's one of my favorite gacha games ever, and plus I'm a huge FF fan! They're always updating and adding new characters and events to keep things interesting. My only complaint is that the normal 11x gachas cost 50 Mythril to pull, and it's a pain gathering that much (you have to go through 50 dungeons essentially). They offer promotional, 15 Mithril ones, but those are limited. If the price was brought down to maybe 20 or 30, it would feel less like a paywall!

This game is certainly great at reminding us about all the great stories of all final fantasy games and the weekly events and seasonal events are truly great. So you can get your favorite characters bot through gambling away at getcha, but by clearing dungeons. Love that, but my favorite is very far down the list, MAKING ME MORE DETERMINED THAN BEFORE!!!

So I have been holding back on writing this review as I have been HOOKED for years. The reason this is so good is for these reasons. *Nostalgia *Storylines *Classic ATB System *Accurate Soundtrack *Massive RPG Elements *Strategic Gameplay *Raids and Constant Updates and Events *Progress Without P2W *Soul Break Graphics are STUNNING *So Much To Do. If I was to ask one thing from the team. Then PLEASE bring back the Kingdom Hearts Event as I missed it and want Sora! In 3 words BEST APP EVER!!!!!

Hesitant at first. But I've been playing for a few days without the need to spend real cash. But we will see how long it takes to hit a pay wall. There seems to be really fun events all the time too! 12/25/2019 Hit the "pay wall". Only dropping 1 star because; it has been entertaining, and I plan on grinding for the materials I need.

Loving the game and it doesn't get old easily. Making a party of the best characters across ALL the Final Fantasy games, even Tactics or Kingdom Hearts is an amazing concept. You could have Selphie fight alongside Kefka, Sora and Lightning and much more. While it can be a bit complicated, at least to me, I worked stuff out eventually as to how to make and improve gear and spells. Getting heroes isn't hard either and you don't draw them from a luck-based "slot machine" as usual, you can get them directly. The only downside is that for the simple 2D pixel art graphics, which I love, the loading times are obscenely high. Was that really necessary? Anyway, good game.

Been loving getting back into it, played the Octopath web game to help with community rewards, game won't load all of a sudden. My guess is they're working on a fix quick, but some acknowledgment of the issue would be appreciated. Love the game but really let down at missing all the hype because I have a newer phone.
