Decided to give it another try. Getting rid of ads is a great reason to use RSS, but nope... Feedly puts em right back in. I was like no prob, I can buy a pro version. But nope. It's a subscription. 8 bucks a month😒 You can't even save a feed with creating an account. One assumes that's so they can track and harvest. I find myself very frustrated by being unable go find an app that just brings you the RSS without a bunch of nonsense added on. It's supposed to be simple. Really simple.

  2. Steven Freeman-avatar

    Steven Freeman

Keeps losing my feeds. Just fired it up for the last time - I shouldn't have to keep adding the same feeds every couple of weeks. I don't run any kind of cache cleaners or run anything to flush data, and I have loads of space. Good when it works.

  3. Stephanie Smith-avatar

    Stephanie Smith

Why can't I read my news today? I open Feedly, and I get a screen to start a trial. There are usually options to skip a trial. This is always been five star app. I had to knock it down to one star until I could figure out what's going on. What happened?

  4. Dante Lectro-avatar

    Dante Lectro

⚫ Bug: when an ad is scrolled to the top edge, it doesn't get marked as read, instead the article below it gets prematurely marked as read. ⚫ The Android status bar items are white on the white Feedly theme, thus they're illegible. ⚫ Please add a proportional scroll bar to articles so I can see how long an article is and how far along I've read. ⚫ Please display Youtube video descriptions like on Feedly web.

  5. Will Hockensmith-avatar

I've been happily using this for years. Today, after the most recent update, it is literally unusable. It insists I login, which wasn't even an option yesterday. However, it pops up errors when I try to create an account so I can login. So, I am really incapable of using it now.

  6. Ja Witha-avatar

    Ja Witha

This has been a great app for years - until today, when it seemed to break completely. It asks for a login, and then when I try to login through Google it hangs before it can load any content. Problem persists after clearing cache and storage and trying to login again. I've been a happy pro user for a long time and this is disappointing.

  7. Vishesh Agarwal-avatar

    Vishesh Agarwal

I was recommended Feedly by a college friend. I have been using the app for a few days now and I am loving the UX. I also really like you guys reaching out to the users. One thing that I feel lacking in the app (or that I haven't found yet) is to mark when I am not interested in some piece of news, neither can I mark that I wanna see more news like that. If I could do that, and if you could then reorder the feeds shown to me (based on my inferred likes), that would be absolutely amazing.

  8. Mike Bresciani-avatar

    Mike Bresciani

Must have auto updated. Half a hour ago it worked fine, now it requires a login. I'm not happy, but, Fine! So I login. Says Google login is good, then just sits there. Crickets... When I try any of the buttons on the bottom of the screen, it goes back to the "Login to get started" screen. I should add, I uninstalled, reinstalled, and got the same results. Time to find a new news reader.

  9. Vaidy Subbaraman-avatar

    Vaidy Subbaraman

I have been using this app on my Android phones (& laptop) for many years. I don't have auto-update of apps on my phone. Today I upgraded many apps and mysteriously Feely doesn't work anymore! It prompts me to login and when I pick my Google email id, all I see is "login failed". Bad.

  10. Lynn Wong-avatar

    Lynn Wong

(update, five star for super fast dev response. It was due to their maintenance down time. Understood.)Used to be great but log in failure starting from today. It is login using Google credentials, btw

  11. Thando W Dlamini-avatar

    Thando W Dlamini

Let's you tailor what you want to read and when you want to read it. Great social media interactions too. With some sites though you have to click the "Read Full Article" button to read an article. Which might have intrusive adds which does not make for a great reading experience. It does not let you save articles for offline reading. Great user interface and easy to use.

  12. Alex Sol-avatar

    Alex Sol

I get the ads and I dont mind them but having to pay for the search option as well is very, very low Edit: I never said you shouldn't use ads, on the contrary I understand you guys need them. The search option is what I complained about.

  13. Chris-avatar

The non standard gestures and navigation are really annoying. E.g. jump to all at the end of the feed, the usage of back button, the left hand menu behaviour. Would be nice to have a setting to reduce some of these. Detecting and grouping the same news story from multiple sources like Google news does would be really good. App is fullscreen for no apparent reason. Bug: if open app with phone held landscape but locked to portrait, splash screen rotates to landscape and then back to portrait.

  14. George Reedy-avatar

    George Reedy

By far, the best app on my phone. The free version lets you source 100 news services. That's enough for most, but the paid version is mind blowing. You can follow Twitter feeds, save articles to most apps, it even learns as you use it. Absolutely tremendous.

  15. Shaun Currier-avatar

    Shaun Currier

It's fine. It was better before they added ads right in the feed. I'd tolerate those as a cost of a free app, but today Feedly deleted a bunch of older unread items without asking me. They just vanished. Losing something valuable like that is not acceptable to me, so I'm on the hunt to find another app.

  16. Harl Windwolf-avatar

    Harl Windwolf

The source limit on the free version is stupid. Sources aren't features of your app and there are free apps without such artificial limitations that don't pretend that they need to do stuff just for the sake of doing them. So I don't see a reason to pay $8(!) every month just to be able to add more sources. This really seems ridiculous. I liked the app otherwise, but this kills it for me.

  17. Perry Ramsey-avatar

    Perry Ramsey

Can't use it without agreeing to be spied on. Creating an account is compulsory, terms and conditions are full of dense legalese, but the part I was able to figure out was that it's allowing them to do anything they want, and change the rules in the future whenever they want, however they want. I don't want to give a news reader that sort of power. I'm trying to drop out of the surveillance industrial state.

  18. Ismail Warsi-avatar

    Ismail Warsi

Just downloaded this app and set up everything I needed to do. I was quite happy with everything this app offered me until I realised that they don't send push notifications on Android. An RSS app without notifications ? You have to be kidding me, I am utterly disappointed. Still if in future this app gets a notifier then I'll be more than happy to download it again.

  19. Kevin Smith-avatar

    Kevin Smith

Been a feedly user now for a month or so and loving it. UI is clean and easy to use. Sources are many and varied for local, and national, and international news and specialist content. Customer support provide some useful how to guides which have helped me develop a content list bespoke to me and which makes me look forward to sitting down and reviewing my feed. This is a superior aggregator app

  20. Steven Davis-avatar

    Steven Davis

Good news app overall, with a few design issues. There seem to be a lot of custom screen gestures which take me from whatever page I am reading back to the table of contents before I am done reading. Take out whatever custom commands are moving me back and just rely on the android system defaults.

  21. Danilo Silveira-avatar

    Danilo Silveira

I've been using this app for years now and I'm really happy with its clean, functional design. Thanks for the great app and please consider a paid version w/o ads.

  22. Paul-avatar

It used to be nice. You cannot just impose limitation on the functionality like that, but you instead must bring new functionality. It's unbelievable how you simply remove Reddit links when I want to add a Reddit RSS. Why is Reddit any different in your vision than any other RSS. You should steer away from this stupid business model before your users are going to. P.S. I read your reply. Why do you omit mentioning that the Reddit integration is a paid feature while you reject the Reddit RSS?

  23. Corey McClurg-avatar

    Corey McClurg

All of a sudden now it's asking me to log in, when I try to do that it says "login failed:{}". If this is because of your scheduled downtime, why would you do it at this time on a Saturday?!

  24. Myles Drysdale-avatar

    Myles Drysdale

Seems cool, but it would be useful to just have a "Headlines" tab so I can get a feel for the app before creating feeds and for a quick daily update on big stories. Also creating feeds by SOURCE is crazy. I care far, FAR more about the topic of an article than the publisher of it.

  25. Mohammad Irfan Kamal-avatar

    Mohammad Irfan Kamal

Recent update broke everything, I am unable to use app because if I try to sign in it shows login successful for a sec and after that it shows login failed not only that it also shows some kind of json error.

  26. Ganesan G-avatar

    Ganesan G

Decently featured app, albeit dark theme needs some tweaking, making it a bit lighter shade of grey. Could be easier on the eyes!

  27. johnny wyatt-avatar

    johnny wyatt

Used to love this app and I have used it for several years...now there are ads in my news feed. I'm going to try the "classic" version. I am willing to purchase this app to remove ads, but I am not willing to subscribe monthly.

  28. Felipe acuña-avatar

    Felipe acuña

So my previous review is gone, it went like many others, i have been using feedly since google reader shut down, but now the monthly subscription cosy is just too stupid to consider, i have already found a new feed reader, dont bother telling me you need the ad revenue, i dont care

  29. Bo Wang-avatar

    Bo Wang

Please disable the swipe to right to return gesture, it's so disturbing when during the middle of reading if I want to scroll down but a slight miss direction it returns to table of contents, just remove this redundant gesture or make it configurable, there's already a navigation button.

  30. octuplex-avatar

Used this for a couple years as an RSS feed, but it keeps tacking on more garbage and subtracting from an already minimal experience. Today it wouldn't let me see my feeds without logging in. Today I uninstall and search for a new RSS feed app.

  31. Kaitlyn Schaper-avatar

    Kaitlyn Schaper

Frequent Crashes. I like this app for keeping up with the rss feed for a podcast I listen too, but the app crashes frequently which put a damper on the quality for me.

  32. Robert Lee-avatar

    Robert Lee

I've been using this app for years and it keeps going downhill. I used to be able to save stories to my Pocket account, but that feature got moved behind a pay wall. Then ads started showing up in my feed as if they are actual blog articles. Now, the app has stopped opening the links to the articles themselves. I've gone through all the app settings and have had no luck. All I get to see in the app now is the first few lines and that's it. I now have to leave Feedly to read articles.

  33. S C-avatar

    S C

Used to be great. Used it on other platforms but you lost me when you added ads. The $8 a month is not worth removing ads. You are going to lose a lot of customers. Like many others, the longer you leave it this way, the more that we will search for an alternative reader and once we find one that is acceptable we won't come back... Even if you fix the ad conundrum. A small one time fee or remove the ads completely. Either way I have found a replacement & after a week or two I won't open Feedly.

  34. Scott-avatar

apparently updated? the website works fine, but the app suddenly (today) required me to login and none of my feeds are loaded.

  35. Lawrence Bishop-avatar

    Lawrence Bishop

I wanted to try a keyword but it wanted me to subscribe to 'Pro' for free, which I didn't want for only one keyword. So it was a complete waste of time.

  36. Alex Tang-avatar

    Alex Tang

Simple app with easy to configure settings for news aggregation. Could do we more bundles of news by region, more colour themes and settings that can be applied to all followed feeds. The app have exit a few times when modifying settings. No keyword search.

  37. drainzerrr-avatar

absolutely perfect, i was pushed to the point i started coding my own app for custom feed. but then i found this gem. great work just don't change it by much

  38. Brad M-avatar

Good app but not possible to use it with VPN. App kicks you out when you connected to VPN and you won't be able to log in back.

  39. Faudzi Al-Junied-avatar

    Faudzi Al-Junied

The app is broken now. I was logged out and can't log in. Some seemingly random gibberish or some error messages of some sort popped up. Please look into it.

  40. Tyler Martinez-avatar

    Tyler Martinez

Revised review: I've used Feedly for more than a few years now and love it. It's easily my most used app, and one of the most useful. It's a great reader and a great way to keep up on your favorite sites etc. Unfortunately the widget (the would-be most useful part for me) updates sporadically. Sometimes it updates every couple hours, sometimes it updates every couple days. The app itself stays updated fine, just not the widget.

  41. Helmholtz Watson-avatar

    Helmholtz Watson

Ads, source limits, no offline content, and an absurd 8€/month. This is too much money for too little features. An RSS reader like Palabre trashes this one any day.

  42. Finn Haverkamp-avatar

    Finn Haverkamp

I'm not really sure what I'd do without feedly. No exaggeration, it's 100x faster than reading actual sites. Be sure to check the settings to optimize it for you.

  43. Dave Tedesco-avatar

    Dave Tedesco

Seems to work again.. Best news app out there. Edit: Nevermind. well they finally added sponsored ads. You guys lost me. Literally the best news aggregator and you don't have a reasonable path to upgrade? It's not worth 8 bucks a month, if it was a one time fee it would be another story. The fact that you have to cram really shady ads down my throat from shady crypto websites is just pathetic. Sorry guys but this went from a 5 to a 1 star until you do something about the sponsored ads.

  44. Tom Gjonaj-avatar

    Tom Gjonaj

Fix scrolling on s21 ultra. Scrolling feels too short and not smooth on the S21 ultra with snapdragon 888. Add more scroll flick so it's longer and smoother. Other than that, best news reader on the market

Clean app, many papers and magazines to choose from. No intrusive ads. Great free version, with a premium version that makes sense.

  48. Bryan M-avatar

    Bryan M

It's a decent freemium RSS reader that limits features to an overly expensive subscription. I'd be willing to pay $20 or even $60 but refuse to shell out for another endless subscription.

  49. leo5354-avatar

Worked fine until yesterday (March 1st) Today can't access my feeds at all Clearing cache, data even reinstalling don't solve the problem Login say successful but my feeds don't show up at all

Wild Ads appeared in my RSS feed masked as articles... uninstall. Edit after dev response: Asking 6$/Month for RSS reader is daylight robbery. Compared to Netflix that has to actually fund content creation for the same price ... go figure.

  51. Boris Lipschitz-avatar

    Boris Lipschitz

"Sponsored" entries appearing in the feed. Removing those requires a SUBSCRIPTION. I'd definitely pay a one time fee of $1..$3 or so to get an ad free version. I'd think twice with a higher price. Subscription? No! Even if its $0.01 a month, just NO, absolutely not.

  52. James Johanson-avatar

The app is pretty and functional but the monthly price is pretty outrageous IMO and the free version is extremely limited.

    Jay Dorsey

Feeds kind of stopped refreshing, or at least as often. Pricing is a bit on the high side; I don't need 1,000 feeds (who has that many?) But the free version is mostly fine

Ok but buggy. Sometimes widget won't refresh for days, and sometimes it refreshes out of the blue while you're reading it. But there aren't many good, customizable news widget apps out there.

  62. Inferno Blaze-avatar

Neat....That's the word to describe this app. Amazing cleanliness is what you experience. As for articles, you get a wide selection of different websites. Defenetly the best.

  63. Chris Noone-avatar

    Chris Noone

Gets worse every year. They just added "sponsored articles" (ads) that sit in your feed and can't be removed without paying. Uninstalled, will not go back.

  64. Joerg-avatar

Since days I'm seeing the same ad every time I'm looking in my feed, very anoying. The monthly fee is to high just to remove this, so I need to look for a new reader :(.

Uninstalled after a few days. Refreshed feed shows articles at least 7 hrs old, they seem to be in random order (not chronologically or by source) and surprisingly small number. Was looking for something to collate all my news sources in chronological order and would remain current - instead of checking each site's 'just in' list myself. This app is not doing that for me.

For the past couple of weeks, off and on, after reading an article, pressing the back button now results in the app reloading (versus simply going back to the feed). I don't know what is going on, but it's probably the most anything thing I've seen in a while.

I've been using feedly for years now, like, years and years and years, I don't even know how long. It's been great, ideal even, it helped me abandoned Facebook, it just works right in so many ways. And then this month ads started appearing. God, have I *hated* watching ads destroy the services and apps I've enjoyed over the years, one after another. YouTube once had none. Now they've come for feedly. And now I'm going to have to migrate feed apps, or go back to using a browser. RIP

Scrolling and reading in this app is very unpredictable. When reading an article, it will jump to the list of articles, and I need to reload the article, and scroll back to my original location. I suspect this is some feature designed into the app, but it does not follow the standard that other apps follow, and consequently it is very frustrating to use. They should follow standard UX, and not try to get fancy.

  124. Chris Scott-avatar

I've started getting ads hidden as articles. While the ads are *technically* marked with a little green "sponsored" square, in practice I often tap on an ad by accident because it's *presented* just like an article, complete with a 'headline'. This is extremely frustrating. I already have to deal with the sites themselves trying to hide the content behind a clickthrough so they can get ad revenue from me, why do I now have to deal with an ad on every page of articles?

  125. Spencer Mullaney-avatar

    Spencer Mullaney

All of a sudden the feedly webpage is broken and there are zero links to support email/chat/forums/etc. When using the keyboard shortcuts to scroll inline to next/previous article (J and K), it will cycle down a random number of articles and then loop back to the top and cycle through the same articles again. Sometimes it's 2 articles, sometimes it's 10, sometimes if you hit J enough it keeps going before looping again but this makes the webpage, and subsequently the service unusable.

  126. gowtham-avatar

The articles are not shown in the app instead opened in internal browser. In that case if i select an article it should immediately open it in internal browser. Right now i have to open it first then select read more to open the full page. This requires two clicks instead of just one. It's frustrating, also their dark mode in app is great but dark mode in their internal browser sucks because the status bar of the phone is white. Its not comfortable in night time. Please fix these issues.

I've been a regular user of Feedly for many years now and I loved using it for my blog reading. Unfortunately, the app experience has been going downhill for a long time now. The new design is very complicated to use and looks very bland due to the pure-white and pure-black look. It would also help if the app showed notifications for trending stories in the feed or if we could get notifications for certain feeds. Update: Still waiting for notifications.....

  128. issysays-avatar

Hate the ads.😫 I switched when Texture magazine app was bought out. I love how Feedly collects new content from my fave blogs. However, I've never been really happy with how the app is organized. And now ads suddenly began appearing. And they're multiplying quickly. I would pay not to see them but there is no opt out. Currently searching to see if maybe something better has been developed.

Feedly has been fine to use for many years even with ads, but the recent changes to displaying the ads looking just like feed articles is not acceptable. FIRST: When mark read when scrolling is set, the ADS stay unread which makes the number of remaining unread incorrect! SECOND: You need to allow me to disable ads I feel are from companies and for products that I find offensive, and don't want to see constantly.

This app has the best UI of all the rss readers I've used. I especially like the starting screen where we get like 5 articles from each category. That alone has made it difficult for me to find another rss reader to use. My biggest complaint is how you're limited to only 3 categories. That feature is what pushes me towards using something like inoreader. I'm not the target of premium. None of the extra features appeal to me besides that one. I can't pay monthly for a feature that's free elsewher

  131. Jon Hylton-avatar

I have started to get ads among my articles. Their presentation makes them almost identical to articles from my feeds, which is frustrating. $96 (per year!) is far too much to ask for removing ads. I will be looking for an alternative RSS reader.

  132. Shawn .G-avatar

    Shawn .G

Meh. I'm just looking for a clean rss reader with the ability to categorize feeds, mark them read or to follow up. This feels like the Sales team is constantly trying to find new features to justify the cost of subscription. And don't forget the Ads. I definitely can't justify $100/year to avoid going to some websites.

This was useless after following 100 blogs/websites. Even with pro and pro+ I don't see an unlimited source feed option. I agree with it being too pricey with no actual good functionality in pro versions. Other than that, I found the 'Explore' option rather useless. I'd rather suggest you guys to try WordPress reader instead, which allows unlimited follows and contains even blogger websites. Uninstalling this one smh. What a waste of data 🙄🤦😒

This is easily the best reader. I've been using it for over a year and I definitely use it for an hour at least. I love the features, sources and the customer care. I would definitely recommend Feedly to anyone that actually wants to grow. I also reduced using social media drastically since I started with Feedly. I upgraded to the pro version as I wanted the 2500 sources option as well.

Excellent app, I'm using the free version atm (v. tight budget) and the features are excellent, I've managed to get feeds from everything I wanted/needed as I tend not to use "mainstream" news sources, to be able to have a go-to app with separate group feeds that I can create is very useful, easy to use and excellent functionality. This app closes my articles while I'm scrolling all the time. The swipe gestures to close and go back and forwards between articles is triggered all the time. A standard close button and more resistance when swiping between articles would do this app good. Then I might actually use it.

  137. Contaminated312-avatar

The application is nice, but if you want more then 3 categories you'll have to pay up to the tune of about $70.00+ a year. I abandoned ship and jumped aboard Google "News" since I can't justify anything that much.

I didnt expect I need to signup to use an RSS reader. Also the navigation behaves in weird way, when I try to add an RSS it will show dialog to login, when I press back button the dialog didn't dissapear but the screen behind seemed to display other things and when I click back button again the app exits without exiting login dialog. Didn't expect an app with more than 1mill download still have this kind of issue

Used to be useable not long ago. Lately it just won't let me continuously read through my feeds, it won't keep an article in memory for a few minutes, if have to do something else on your phone. One of the few apps that I started using back when I used a KitKat device but now in Android 11 & MIUI 12, it is unofficially dead just living on ventilation without support from users. Earlier without account u could try the app & see does it suit your demands but now ur forced & even then results are unsatisfactory. After installation size increases to 150 MB without anything saved. No option for dark theme like dark reader extension. No option for offline viewing of links & webpages saved. 💩

I used this app a long time ago... maybe 5 years ago. Since I am untying my strings to Facebook, I decided to return to this app. I tried my old password and it worked.. and remembered all my prefered blogs. This app could use a method for re-organizing the feeds by topic.

Terrible user interface... when I tap on an article ,it opens a useless screen with a summary, why not open directly to the website? Then this screen reappears when I leave the article back to Feedly. I thought this app was at least able to pull out the text from the source website but no, just the RSS feed, like in 1998...

Love this app and use it as my news feed for topics I am interested in. The 4 stars is due to the app not changing the status bar icons back to dark once the system default changes from night mode to day mode. Fix this bug and I will re-rate to 5 stars.

The app is good. Provide at least highlight feature for free, you can charge for other features but this may be useful for those who are not in position to pay. Do this if it is possible.
