Ads masquerade as articles. Uninstalled because of them. Reply to Feedly: your product has reduced in quality over time. First, by forcing users to create an account they don't need to aggregate rss and now by injecting ads that are deceptively similar to articles. I'm cognizant of your need to make money but the deceptive ad injection is reprehensible. I was considering finding a new reader app before this, and these ads have finally destroyed your product enough to make me leave.

Why does the BACK button activate your new Navigation panel in the 7/13/20 update? When I tap my phone's BACK button, I expect to retrace the steps I've taken, NOT activate new steps. This is an awful design change that needs to be reconsidered. UPDATE: Six (6) updates to the app have been released since 7/13/20, and the BACK button issue has still not been fixed.

Love this app and use it as my news feed for topics I am interested in. The 4 stars is due to the app not changing the status bar icons back to dark once the system default changes from night mode to day mode. Fix this bug and I will re-rate to 5 stars.

  4. akaMePs-avatar

The latest updates are making my phone crashed REALLY hard. The older versions were working good with no crash at all. If it ain't broken, don't fix it! Update: Back to working again!

  5. Caroline Docwra-avatar

Have feeds that show broken images in place of image files that previously worked so it's pointless to read that article. Loved this app for years but looking for others now so I can see the content I've subscribed to read.

All sorts of error messages with latest update. See other reviews. Thanks for the quick response. Waiting for 80.0 to hit Play Store. Will install. Updating to 5 stars just based on your speedy response. 👍 Update resolved ALL issues. TYVM for great response.

I am blind and thought I would give this a try on both Desktop and moble and I haate that it doesn't let mu screen readers navigate both on desktop or mobile so I need took look for a diffrent option. The onlyy good thing I could say was extreamly up to date the only other thing i dislike Is not being able to scroll back up.

  8. Demi-avatar

I used the previous Feedly and although I liked that one better this one is still usable and better than alternates I've used. I use the app to go through news feeds and save them later to pocket.

Using feedly pro+ , day 1 worked fine. Day 2 unable to reload page, i uninstalled then installed again but this time login page is not opening however internet connection is perfect. My suggestion folks Dont pay for this app Its kinda scam

I returned to this app recently after using another reader for they last few years. It has come on massively, very simple to use and plenty of good configurable options. Wish I'd come back to it sooner!

Let's you only create a maximum 3 Feed categories in the free version. I am not going to pay for such cheap features which other apps offer for free.

  12. Peter Hess-avatar

The insertion of sponsored content (ads, basically) into feeds with the last update means I'm off to find another feed reader. Which is a shame, because Feedly is otherwise a decent reader app. But doing this breaks a core assumption of feeds, which is that the feed reader presents the feed as-is. These ads look like content in the feed, but with tiny weasle words about being sponsored. That's deceptive. Put ads in the app if you must, but don't alter the feed I'm using the app to read.

  13. Lech Deregowski-avatar

It looks like you're reading and suddenly lost network connection. Guess you don't need to read that anymore and we'll display a large "no network" notification instead,. What's a cache?

  14. Jackie Salazar McCallion-avatar

I used to love this app. Now there are ads and news only loads for one page and then I get a blank screen. It's been two days like this. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. It's just too frustrating and it's clear the company made a lot of bad decisions way too quickly. This app doesn't even work anymore so it's time to find a new RSS reader.

  15. Dave Moore-avatar

    Dave Moore

It's always been my favorite app. The adds now are terrible and very annoying and they don't go away. Something may be wrong on your end because the O2 Canada add never disappears from your feed. You are going to loose a lot of people. $8 a month is pretty steep. Most of your add free subscription music services aren't that much. I may consider if you had a discounted rate (like half price) if you paid for 1 year in full ($50 a year?). Or even a lower fee just to remove adds.

  16. Andy Walker-avatar

    Andy Walker

I enjoyed Feedly for many years but their development path has strayed from what I want in a news reader. The new features want to help curate a personal feed like a typical social media app, but for me it's just bloat. The final straw was the inclusion of ads on every single screen, about 4 articles down. You cannot read or swipe to mark as read and ultimately dismiss it as you can with all other articles. I've migrated to another source already.

  17. Benoit Pronovost-avatar

    Benoit Pronovost

This has been my go to RSS feed reader, but I guess it's time to look for something else. Recent updates slowed things down unecessarily and added recurring adds (as in ; ALL feeds have ads, and often the same one over and over and over). Always had a great experience, now I avoid the app altogether and will be uninstalling.

  18. Andrew Drake-avatar

    Andrew Drake

Disappointed by the recent inclusion of advertisements hidden in the news feed, designed to look like normal articles. Especially disappointed your sponsors include a company profiteering from covid-19. Please consider adding an ad-free tier that's less expensive -- I don't need the extra features in Pro but I'd gladly fork over a couple bucks a month.

  19. LordGoga LastName-avatar

    LordGoga LastName

Please, please change places in the bottom menu for the button, that opens a feeds list (leftmost), and the button, that adds a new feed ("plus" sign). I am a right-handed person, having a phone with a large screen. I do not add new feeds as often, as I browse my feeds list to choose some feed to read. So, it is kinda hard every time to reach the leftmost feeds list button with my right thumb! Thanks in advance!

  20. Wayne Weaver-avatar

    Wayne Weaver

Feedly has been fine to use for many years even with ads, but the recent changes to displaying the ads looking just like feed articles is not acceptable. You need to make the ads look different than an article if you place them in the feeds. Could you flip the ads image to the right side so it's more noticeable as an add? Also, you need to allow me to disable ads I feel are from companies and for products that I find offensive, and don't want to be reminded of constantly.

  21. Gabe Salinas-avatar

    Gabe Salinas

I keep installing this app because it is one of the best available ... but there is no option to enlarge the font size (choosing larger font on web version doesn't affect app). I have vision problems, so I'll just need to uninstall and try again in a year or two. UPDATE: The developers were kind enough to respond with a tip on enlarging article font size. Unfortunately, my issue is with the size of the feed font, not the articles themselves.

  22. Tim Mui-avatar

No search feature by topic, ads look too much like feeds Update: Uninstalled due to ads being pervasively displayed instead of on first load.

  23. Jon Hawkins-avatar

    Jon Hawkins

I love reading the latest news and articles, but what I really need is to be able to go back and read things from seven years ago and support that by being fed the same useless ad over and over and over... SAID NO ONE, EVER. The recent addition of horrible inline ads and unneeded feature bloat ruin this otherwise great app. Bad idea. I know what I want to read, I don't need AI to help me. That ad is the worst. Sadly uninstalling... here's an ad for ya: Try Inoreader.

interface sucks for ease of use/intuitiveness. bought pro after 5 min using the free version but can't figure out where the help chat is for pro users & no sign of font change option. Need to be able to change font size of the interface as well. why is there no background notification feature so i know instantly when a new article is posted?

  25. Luke Driscoll-avatar

    Luke Driscoll

The sponsored content is very misleading. I would pay to remove this content if there was a reasonably priced option, I don't need more features, just ad free. ---- To respond to the reply - thank you for making the ads a little more obvious. As I said before I am not interested in the Pro offering, all I need is what I have with no ads; and $8/month is VERY spendy for that.

App no longer works on my Chromebook. Can't open any articles, whether using internal browser or other browser. Useless on that device at the moment (except to browse the articles). Issue seems to have resolved itself. Perhaps it was a browser problem, although, at the time, tried three different browers. Thank you for your response. Changing my star rating accordingly. In the past many years I have been using the app, this was the first problem encountered.

Sorry, bouncing back to the Classic version due to the unending ads. I'd be willing to pay a flat fee for a lifetime pro membership, but I'm not willing to pay a monthy subscription fee. (Yup, I know Feedly has reasons for their fee structure. No, again, I'm not willing to pay a subscription fee.)

  29. Saket Savarn-avatar

    Saket Savarn

My only complain as of now is removing websites you have subscribed for. I go to "Manage Sources" under feeds and click on the tick mark to remove them and get prompt to upgrade to premium. I am not asking to add more sources as I have already reached the limit but at least remove the sources I added by mistake? Why am I not able to remove any sources?

  30. Steve Miller-avatar

Love the app and quite useful for organizing and reading RSS feeds. My only issues are 1) They are trying to get too social/AI with it. I don't want to discover, and I don't want facetwitgram or Feedly to curate for me; 2) Sometimes I try to mark items as read and it refreshes without marking them read - developers love async way too much and it makes for a worse experience. Otherwise, great app and highly recommend

Downloaded this app to read my news feeds. Set everything up and worked fine for a few weeks. Then suddenly I get logged out and no longer able to sign in using my Google account. Kinda defeats the purpose if I can't use it with my account doesn't it? Edited: I've isolated the problem to my PIA vpn. After disabling it for Feedly, the Google login worked again. I'm not sure who's fault this is but it's still annoying. Please get together with them to fix this issue.

App doesn't respect my Android font preferences. The main font is tiny. I can only adjust the font of the article, but even at the largest it's too small. Buttons don't have great contrast (dark theme) and are quite hard to see. Functionally it's probably fine but I found it a really uncomfortable, difficult app to use.

  34. Erik Beriault-avatar

Latest update that featured adding "sponsored" content has broken my feed completely, 2 days of not being able to use.. guess I'm ditching the app now. Thanks for responding but the app has been buggy since the implementation of ads, I have no problem with them, except for the fact feedly used to work flawlessly and now it doesnt

    A Google user

I'm a big fan of this app and understand the need to generate revenue to keep the service active. Usually I prefer to pay to avoid ads, however, $8 a month is a ridiculous amount to ask for a service that aggregates others free content, heck that's a higher monthly fee than Disney+.

  36. Noyan Tillman Şahin-avatar

    Noyan Tillman Şahin

A weirdly badly written app. Don't get me wrong, it's a perfectly fine RSS feed. Works as advertised. But it overly relies on weirdly implemented, inconsistent and unusual gestures that do not at all conform to OS standards and that frequently cause either severe animation lag and dropped frames or unintended behavior. The app is fine! Just get used to that horrible jank. There isn't a viable alternative anyway. 3★, 5★ if they finally fix their gesture and animation systems. They keep trying.

  37. Georgia Papayeoryiou-avatar

    Georgia Papayeoryiou

It was the best RSS reader I had found thus far after trying both Flipboard and Upday and it has some of the best visuals and interface but the 100 source limitation for the free version is disappointing, though I know that this is the market trend for RSS readers. Also, the price for the pro version is way too high and it's really annoying that we can't add new feeds through the mobile app after creating 3 feeds. A beautiful app but its issues make it all go down the drain.

  38. Devraj Goswami-avatar

    Devraj Goswami

Hate using the app due to a silly feature. Swiping from left to right, closes the open article. The gesture is triggered accidentally so often during scrolling the article. Once the article closes, you lose the position. On opening again it starts from the top. Can't even read a small article without this happening and I can't find a way to disable the gesture.

  39. Boaz Blough-avatar

    Boaz Blough

A week ago I would have given it 4 or 5 stars. A recent update silently added sponsored content. This would be a minor issue (after all, it's free) except that the only prior notice was the 'article' was tagged in small text as sponsored content.

Been using the app for years. One bug that really grinds my gears is when I use the back gesture from the right side of my pixel device, it's supposed to open the left navigation panel, which it does, but then the save to board/share menu also pops up. Please fix this. Thanks!

  42. Michael Hicks-avatar

Loved how this worked until last few weeks. Still works great (for my needs) on laptop but phone use now is unacceptable. Every time I login my feeds don't appear (mobile only). If I add content then my feeds reappear but I have to do that every time. Frustrating.

  43. Timothy Nunes-avatar

    Timothy Nunes

Farewell, Feedly. The ads were a misstep with no affordable option to remove them. Even if they aren't showing right now, you got me looking for an alternative. Inoreader is simply better. When I hit the back button twice, their app actually closes!

  44. Danny Foster-avatar

    Danny Foster

It's great to compile a newsfeed of all the topics I want, but it's so frustrating to use my web browser to read articles instead of opening the article in the Feedly app or having the option to open the article in the other news app (I pay for the post, athletic, and NYT).

  45. Misja Geuskens-avatar

    Misja Geuskens

The 'back button' bug, already reported in reviews since end of July, is still not fixed. I open articles direct in my browser, hit the back button and Feedly reloads as if opened freshly. Has been around previously, fixed and now it's back. Very annoying, show stopper!

  46. Chris Staudenmayer-avatar

    Chris Staudenmayer

Lastest update added ads disguised to look like news stories. I understand you need to pay bills but this is blatant deception shame. Even worse is you keep the ad as the fourth article in the list. Thus hiding the words "Sponsored". I think I'm done with the app

  47. Jon Mueller-avatar

    Jon Mueller

Latest update adds sponsored content. I wouldn't really care if it wasn't disguised as actual headlines. I've happily used feedly since the end of google reader, but I don't appreciate developers trying to trick me. Subscription fee is far too high for the value added.

  48. Jorge Avalos Salguero-avatar

    Jorge Avalos Salguero

In a previous review I rated the app really low as there was nothing I could do with it or even settings options. After a few tries I actually think I found a bug that didn't update the left navigation bar and it always showed empty. After the left menu is working it is of course much better and now it makes sense. Thanks for the support to the feedly team.

  49. Mike Neville-avatar

    Mike Neville

Recent updates made it really bad. The fonts for the category list were changed and look very bad. They also added a new "loading and enriching articles" animation which slows everything down. The only enriching I can see being done is inserting ads into the article list.

  50. Reid Fortier-avatar

    Reid Fortier

Every update this product gets worse and worse. From terrible UI updates to hiding undismissable ads in your articles, shoehorning an "AI" assistant into things to fundamental breaking changes to their web extension. If you find an alternative that works for your needs, I'd avoid this if I were you

  51. Roger Peters-avatar

Adds all of a sudden? No thanks. When Google Reader shut down I moved to Feedly and have been happy ever since. I'm not about to pay $8/month to get rid of adds they suddenly put in disguised as actual headlines. I'll be looking for a replacement immediately. Bad move, Feedly.

  52. Maria Loranger-avatar

Don't remember. As I said from the beginning, I have no time to test your app and I uninstalled it. But I should be able to get rid of it! Uninstalled after last update. Besides everything else mentioned in previous reviews, can't get rid of the pop-up requesting to subscribe to Power Search. App became useless and I have no time to research if something can be done about it.

Used to be 5 star app but sponsored ad now shopping up amongst my articles on almost every page is incredibly annoying. One time fee to remove ads might be reasonable but sadly have to uninstall this app I've been using for years and find another as last update killed this app.

  55. DisVet MarCiv33-avatar

Ads inserted into article list. Deceptive garbage. I use feedly because it was recommended by friends. After the update that inserted ads in lieu of a $16 a month pay to use subscription, I'm the only one that still had it installed.

I've enjoyed this app for years but today's update added inline ads that look just like the normal feeds I click on. Uninstalling immediately. I don't mind paying for this app to go ad free if ads were needed and actually looked like ads but the deceptiveness of this update really annoyed me.

  58. Cenon Del Rosario-avatar

Excellent devs! I suggested improvements and they listened, I was surprised they implemented all of them 😁. The changes were: Retain position in list after reading an article, allow arranging of Feeds rather than alphabetical, set default Feed when starting up rather than All, Today or Favorite.

  59. Ron Oppenheim-avatar

If they changed the sponsored content to a different color or called it out in some other way, I'd give this five stars. But ads that look like content or paying $8 a month to get rid of them are two pretty crummy options.

RSS-newsreaders are a dying breed, probably because they dodge ads and other scripts the sites want you to "experience" when you visit them so I guess RSS is not what businesses want anymore... But Feedly still works and lets me quickly skim all the sites I want to check daily and go to sites only for reading some particularly interesting piece of news, so that's brilliant. It has quirks, yes, but no dealbreakers.

Emailed support twice about an issue. No response. Ads snuck into the feeds as well, the same ad over and over no less. Using Inoreader now. Good luck y'all.

Love this app but cannot believe they've added sponsored content to our actual feeds. I'm totally fine if this app needs to go ad-supported but cannot stand my feed being infiltrated by fake ad stories.

The latest updates adds annoying ads that you can't easily swipe to mark as read or remove. It brings up a modal telling you to subscribe.

Feedly has started extorting users to pay a monthly subscription by inserting "sponsored" items directly into the feed unless you pay. Until this practice stops, I highly suggest nobody use this app. Find an alternative that isn't run by money grubbing scumbags.
