Reviews From google play store

Overall good way to calculate daily calorie intake, but I'm concerned about the micronutrient tracking. I'm following a plant-based diet and cook everything from scratch. The app shows that my sodium is through the roof. The app shows that a boiled potato has 486mg of sodium - 20% of your daily. Google shows that a potato has 5.4mg of sodium. What's going on?

It's cool so far concept is good people so far are supportive. Very easy to navigate if using desktop mode on the phone or just use a computer. The app doesnt have the same features if it does I couldn't find it. I had to change my profile picture and type my bio in desktop mode and login using chrome. However that's minor the app is good so far and I like it

I've been using this app for years and was happy with it, but lately I've noticed some serious data sync issues. For example - meal data logged from the android app doesn't show up on the web app. Today I've logged 2 meals on the android app and when I got back home all the data was missing in both android and web apps. Please fix this, I don't want MyFitnessPal's zero data privacy.

Keeps me on track, I can check and look back at my progress. Helps me plan my days meals. I put in diff things/ingredients and see what it all adds up to for my day. The search library covers the majority of things I look for. I only added one, the Macro Lo Carb seeded bread. I think I would have failed in my weight loss endevour. Im doing Keto diet, but the app will help in whatever diet you do. I quickly realised that I was eating way too much carbs and no wonder I was overweight/obese.

FatSecret is making it easy for me to make close to accurate estimates about my calories consumed and burned. I love the database of foods that comes handy when entering food types. I think it takes one a week or two of using the app to figure out servings that are within one's intended plan, intuitively. The greatest part is the partnering with Google Fit, that makes this a true MASS BALANCING tool. It is so wonderful! I am hoping for an offline version/libraries of the FatSecret app.

I have been using it for years. Monitors my food in take daily. Monitors my weight as well.I know my limits and especially my carb intake. The app is easy to use. Most foods we consume are already on it. You can also add on foods if you cannot find it on the App. Many other features are in there.

It's a good app I have been currently using this app and tried to switch to many other apps but others doesn't have the ease of usage I would give it a 4 Stars but due to some inconvenience of crashes and lagging and failing to search some simple things such as a "Tomato" first instead show's some other stuff you really have to dig to find someone simple ingredients so for now I'll stick to the 3 Stars unless you can simply find a way to fix the bugs and not being able to save any foods fix this

great app to get you started on the right track.. I've learnt to recognise food portions since using this., now I know exactly what portion sizes are right for me. I've lost weight after a year and I'm steady weight now, I am seeing this as a whole way of life eating. I was told I was borderline diabetic, and through losing just a few pounds, and cutting down on sugar my diabetes scare is no more...I cook from scratch a lot and freeze in batches...

This is a pretty good tracker for weight management with extensive food database and reporting options. It loses a star (IMHO) for uneven coverage of units available for food (only cups and grams in some cases, for example) and for lack of fully integrating nutritional advice. For example, the reports don't adjust the percentage of macronutrients recommended based on the reduction in calories. Overall though, it's useful.

Just updated to the latest version (as of 02/10/2019). Have been sitting on an old version for quite a while, and against my better judgement updated it today, hoping that some problems got fixed. Things like: - the nutrition entry for new food being all out of whack (the list starts with Sugars, instead of going in the same order as the usual AU nutrition label - so calories, protein, fat, etc.)). - selecting something from the recently eaten food list and then trying to change the meal you want to assign it to erases whatever you've just selected. You can't pick something from the Dinner recent list and then assign it to Lunch, for example. - the fact that an entry is easily deleted by accidentally swiping a couple of millimeters to the left. - etc. But no - the improvement we got was a colorful scrolling paid meal plan commercial at the top of the screen. Nice job, guys! I used to recommend it to all my clients, was the easiest and best calorie counter app for Australia IMHO, - but it's been getting progressively worse.

There's a weird glitch that duplicates items sometimes so I have to go back and delete items from the food log that appear twice. The picture feature didn't accurately capture items. For instance, I took a picture of 2 crackers and it suggested yogurt or sour cream. Don't like that the settings default to Monday as the beginning of the week and there doesn't seem to be a way to change the settings. It would also be nice to easily swipe to another day when logging items.

*** I've been trying to update my calorie goals it keeps saying that it failed to save for over 2 weeks****Thank you for this free resource. In over a year worth of use I've only ran into maybe three items that were not already listed. Has been a helpful tool to make me aware of my eating habits & choices. Would be nice if the export feature allowed you to sellect more than just one day at a time.

Good app great UI. Database of food is great. Would be even better if it supported flexible goals by custom macro ratio, e.g 5C:25P:70F rather than just calories being the goal. Would help us doing diets such as keto. Macro breakdown in UI per meal would be helpful so people see which meals may need tweaking. 14/11/2019 Thanks for the response Lenny. I see now where you can set the ratio. As a result I have updated my review.

This App has helped me track my eating habits and curve most of my bad eating choices. By logging everything I consume, it allows me to see my caloric intake as well as the percentage ofcarbs, protien and fats. If you commit to keeping a daily log and keeping track of all you consume the app can really help to hold yourself accountable and make better eating choices. It helps set realistic weight loss goals. Only issue is the food data base, as I have had trouble finding some of my meals.

A great way to record your weight and diet. To be able to see what nutritional information you've had means you can see where you need to improve. It lists popular brands in the UK and you can add some if you know their nutritional values. I also like that you can record any exercise/activities so you have an idea how many calories you burn.

I am a lazy person who is overweight cause of laziness. Must admit I love this app it's very good and useful for a person like myself. Apart from the laziness. This app is probably the most useful app in Google Play Store. Easy to use and calculate the calorie intake. Thumbs up to the team who put the effort and time to create it. Thnx

Easy to download install and use. Wonderful community. I love the reports and reminders. Great pictures of healthy food. Nonjudgmental support regarding what diet you choose. It picks up my activity from my current app so I don't have to enter it twice. Con- There's no visible option to opt out of a conversation I don't like. I'm trying the meal planning. Can you please allow the camera function in that function????

Very good app, still having a few problems syncing to my fitbit account, if for instance it syncs at 9pm, and not again until after midnight, then you would only get readings until 9pm, it doesn't sync data from the day before. Would it be possible to add a button to make the app sync on command or to download the fitbit data from the day before

I really like that it has South African food to choose from. I just wish an entire restaurant's menu was uploaded instead of just parts of it. Also, it only has the option to log weight. It would be useful to log cm's as well. Sometimes weight loss is very small, but when you can see how the cm's are dropping it is very motivating.

Unfortunately if you have chosen one language in smartphone settings and need another in the app it doesn't show the search results you need, even if you selected the preferred region in the app. If you change language in phone settings it helps and search results are right, but it is very very inconvenient. Please fix this, cheers.

I like that you can see your nutrition info, whereas you would have to pay for that in MyFitnessPal. The overall look is very nice and I like the graphs, but an actual dark mode would be great. My biggest problem is that I can't submit photos; there's a few items that I scanned the barcode of and they didn't appear in the app. I would try to submit a picture of the barcode and it would take me back to the search page as soon as I hit the check mark. Other information does save though.

Google fit "integration" is to much of a one-way street. In a day and age of connected scales that automatically sends your weight to Google fit, it's beyond me that this app can't pull that data off Google fit, but relies on manual entry - that it then sends to Google fit. *Epic facepalm*

Was able to lose 40 lbs just by tracking what I ate after years of not knowing calories, etc. There is an extensive data base of foods. I would give it 5 stars except that when looking at recent foods they are limited by meal. That becomes annoying after a while.

Love it! And it's free. Also possibility of adjusting macros manually and seeing breakdown of food macros. I took off 1 star because the selection of food is small so a lot of food has to be entered manually. Fitness pal had a much bigger database

Just came off Keto because not counting just does not work for me. This app is nothing short of a miracle if you can get into weighing and measuring your food intake. It's brilliant and it's working already dropped 3 lbs in 4 days! I will be buying the full version but the free is working fine ATM. πŸ™‚πŸ™ŒπŸ˜„

Love the app! As a long time MyFitnessPal user, I truly appreciate how certain workflows are much simpler and more user-friendly in Fatsecret than in MFP! Initially, I wasn't able to find a way to set specific macro-nutrient daily goals, but the developer was quick to respond and let me know where to look for it - greatly appreciated!

The app is pretty simple to use, though saved meal modification and management requires using the website. The searchable food database is nowhere near as good as MyFitnessPal's, but the privacy and less bugs with FatSecret make it a solid alternative. Offline support of diary entries would be nice (for at least previously used items).

Interface is fairly easy to understand and simple to use. However, there is a problem encountered. I couldn't add exercise - after pressing the "+ Exercise" button, it shows blank page.

I like that it had nutritional information for all foods. It's very easy to use. I don't like that it doesn't sync to my Fitbit more often and doesn't have a manual way of syncing when it has not been updated in a long while.

Great App. I am currently using the free version and I had success with losing 10 lbs in only 6 weeks. I found easy to navigate the app and add daily intake of calories since the app has records of all of the food brands I consume. I has also helped me to be accountble for exercising and sleeping pattern.

Really like this app, seems to be the quickest to learn and most efficient at data entry. Good analysis and reporting too. Generally UK centric so no great lists of US supermarket goods. I would like to see separate alcohol fields and analysis too please.

In general very good app. Have a, bug where every once in a, while food is duplicated after entering. My intake for one of the days last week was showing as 4000 cal because the app repeated each entry twice after a few day of entering it.

Very good apk for count my calories and excercise that connected to Google fit also the progress and report are dailies. it's give me positive behavior too while seeing any community's posts and how it work to their bodies. We also be able to add our fav meals and it's nutritions.

I haven't used any other calorie counter but this one does everything i need and more. Highly recommend it for ease of use and its comprehensive food/brand database. I've lost 6.6% of my body weight in about 5 weeks. My only small peeve is that when the units are set to kilojoules the weekly report is still in calories.

Awesome tool....lost 20+ lbs and lowered my BF to 9.65% so far with this tool...ofcourse, I remain consistent with my workout regimen as well. Don't use this App if you're not serious about your health, because I would hate to see folks blaming this App for not seeing results, when in fact it's directly due to their own inconsistency and laziness. This App has been Phenomenal to me! Checkout #Henribasics2fitness; see my body transformation posts on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ™

I've been using this for years, but suddenly it's become glitchy. Searches by name brand come up empty, but if I search the same item on Google and add "fatsecret" to the search terms, it'll find it and send me back to the app to track it, but it'll only show up as breakfast. I have to save as breakfast and then edit it to lunch or dinner. ????

For some reason, the app is doubling up what I put in as eaten. Everything is being repeated and I'm having to go through and delete the multiple amounts of food. Otherwise it's a good app and once this glitch is fixed I will add more stars :) Definitely the best app I've used for NZ food.

It a blessing to have. I love the way the application helps me to count carbs and calories. In 30 years of being diabetic I never have such control. Thank you for creating this wonderful application. 😁

Easy to use. Simple to add your custom foods or edit servings/portions. Tracking calories is a breeze with this app. Light on weight (MBs). Happy to recommend it to anyone who's just starting out.

By far the best app I've used to date for tracking calories, and macros. Gives u the breakdown nicely, easy to search food options and input them in the right quantities. Food planner is also on a calendar planner so you can see how many calories and macros you've ate throughout the month.. great work with this awesome app, well done guys, and thanks, I've been searching for this type of app for a very long time.

Great app. Talking half a star off for the name 'fatsecret' as could be quite dangerous for those suffering ED and half off for (unless I'm missing something) the fact that you can't choose to have your end of day calories marked as a net deduction of exercise minus cals. Thank you for a great free app!

Perfect tracking app. It has a large database of foods and if you can't find it, it is very easy to add something. I have used it very successfully to lose weight and then to maintain my target weight.

Often get error when wanna see the report. I hope soon repaired. I also often got some difficulties to find out the name for the food. Even in English nor in my mother tounge language. Please fix the error in reports folder. Thank you.

Approaching mid 50s Great App to help you keep your health on track. Found the app really useful in planning and recording my meals for the day and week ahead. At the point in life where diet and exercise are now a real factor to achieve a healthy lifestyle. This app is so helpfull in achieving my goals.

So supriced, by far the best food tracker I tried from the last 5 years. Inputs are easy and foods from around the world and in any dosages and brands. Remember perfects is the pitfall before good enough. This is Good tracking app. It will give us rutine and a sense of cslories. Togheter with a calorie movement trackers heartbeat sensor gym tracking (Whit some salt πŸ˜‰) you can get autonomous and feel out your diet to the degree of North ( your goal) that you will feel in controll.

I love how almost every brand of food is listed. Also the reminders are great because sometimes I get super busy. I can track all my stats is one app which is super convenient. I love it!

Switching between own country and other countries is abit troublesome and also im using fitbit to calculate my burned calories, when the app is opened it only syncs but it doesnt sync the left over calories when it past the day or if I didnt open the app.

This app and the community is awesome. I do wish though that you could have a like button for comments that people make. Also it would be nice to be able to reply to individual comments like we can on Facebook. That would make it so much easier to thank individuals for their help and encouragement.

So far it's a good app to monitor how many calories you eat a day and good that it provides brake down for fat, carbohydrates, protein intake. And provides macro/micronutrients. It is easy to use, like it so far. Thanks!

Honestly i quite enjoy your app. I already use this for almost 1 month and this app helps me a lot on tracking my diet. But the thing that stops me on giving 5 stars was the price on the premium membership. Could you guys consider reducing the price? Even the samsung health apps are giving the same benefits as your premium for free but i prefer your apps because it's becaming a habbit to me to list my intake to your app. Please condiser. Thank you.

This app is very good to maintain calories for Six packs, presentation or summaries of reports and remainder makes it good , but is worst when it comes to add a recipe or follow a recipe , it is not user friendly.

An easy to use app for keeping a food diary. There is enough to keep you informed about your daily eating habits for no extra cost, but I am intrigued out the premium options. Maybe one day I'll take the extra step. NZ food information is also good.

I really love this app. Makes it easy to count your calories with the huge food database. Love the interaction section where you can pick up on food ideas or you can just follow their eating plans. Great app!!!!

Very clever application, really helps tracking both weight and foods. Love the foods calorie, carb, fat etc guides. Would highly recommend this ! 4 out of 5 stars because it could be better, but it's still really good. Thank you Fatsecret team πŸ™‚

Very easy to use. I like that you can enter your own recipes and the app calculates the nutritional values. Lots of food data available without having to enter the info.

This app is amazing. Its easy to use,has a vast amount of foods loaded to make it easy to count calories. It shows you your fats vs carbs and protein. And it works.Im losing weight for the first time in a long time.

Find it easy to keep track of what I'm eating during the day, the amount of calories I have eaten and calories I have left. Reminds me to fill in and when to weigh in.

Pretty awesome app! Supper user friendly and easy to navigate. My only critique is that water tracking should be made available to all users without having to purchase premium. Otherwise, a pretty good app.

It is an easy, simple way to track food. Also shows macros, which is very helpful in ensuring a balanced diet. The controls on setting portions of food are a little wonky, but other than that no complaints!

It's great to know the calories you eat and the reminders to weigh yourself and drink water. I also like the recipes they send you. Great app!!!!!

This is helpful app, unfortunately I can't switch languange in this app. At first I open thru computer and still have bahasa there, but now thru computer or mobile phone use english. It is fine for common international food but for local food it pathetic.

Very helpful app! Easy to use and really helps monitor my calorie count. Sometimes struggle linking a picture to a meal but that's not really a train smash. Has really helped me hold myself accountable for what I eat.

The app is great in terms of counting calories and helps us to lose/gain weight according to the data collected. The only problem is that it doesn't import data from my honor band 4 or the huawei health app. Please add this app to your list of fitness apps

By far the best calorie tracker I've used. I love the breakdowns in the reports and the visual aid that shows how many more calories you have left for the day.

I love the app but lately when I enter a food item into my daily diary, it doubles the entry so my calories are double what they should be. I have to go back and delete one copy of everything

Easy to use and versatile for basic calorie tracking. I like the macro nutrient graph on the daily food diary. Be careful and cross-check barcode scanner information with the label.

Good app with good number of food items and calorie values. Helps to identify the reasons for not losing weight through calorie counting and thus helps to take appropriate corrective measures. 2 weeks in and already losing weight!

A great tool to assist with weight loss. It is one of the best apps i have ever used, as it has ready made lists of Restaurant food where i can check my calories when i want to eat out with my family.

Overall very helpful in tracking calories, eating patterns, areas to improve - the report features are very useful. Lots of details available. Has many food types, but not as many prepared foods or beverages, and can't scan barcodes to import nutritional info.

Thoroughly enjoying the experience. Very educational. Hopefully the developer keeps adding on more features. Would love syncing capabilities with Polar and Smart Watch capabilities.

This app is very nice to make a personal and private food documenting experience. You can easily account for any food even if it doesn't have a label, and it's weight tracking features help visualize progress easily.

I like that this app syncs with my fitbit. I love that specific restaurant items are available. My one suggestion would be to list the nutrition in the bun or wrap etc used as sometimes i will just eat the " innards" and not the bread.

Love this app! Perfect for South African users, not like international apps where you have to convert ounces and pounds back to grams and ml. Also, everything you can think of is listed here. Well done guys!

I am unable to log in. The App says that i already have registered on my email address, but when I request the temporary password and try and sign in with it, i get a notification that the login failed. I have tried numerous times but still can't sign in.

This app is fantastic! So specific to our local food items. It's great for tracking progress. As a personal trainer, I find the share with professional option great for monitoring clients diets.

Small DB, they are so keen on quality idea that they keep db so SMALL. That doesn't help. Worse data better than nothing. Suggested adding "Report food" functions & "user rating" to increase quality and auto accept food from higher-rated users. Nothing. Suggested importing DBs from elsewhere, dismissed. I still manually add most of my food. 3) no Added Food tab. 4) Recently eaten tab list too short. Switching to MFP. I SUGGESTED COUNTLESS TIMES ALL 2019 AND SAW NOTHING, CHECK THE EMAIL CONVERSAT

Pictures taken in the app get flipped and uncentered. Landscape pictures from camera can't be entered. Can't export food diary on the app. Tried with several version and export is corrupt. And no, these issues are not just me, other users just don't bother reporting them.

I like it!! It keeps me on track and seeing the day by day progress. When I reach my goal, I'll update the rating ;)

Nice app, but you give "reminders" as notification. Once the notification is dismissed there's no way to show them again... Please add a reminders tab in the menu list, where one can easily show ALL reminders again.

I can't find many indonesian food if i use english as my phone's language, although i pick indonesia in the app. Phone's language must be set to Indonesian as the primary language if i want to get more indonesia food list. Database is different. Please fix this or add language setting in the app.

I used to love this app but recently, there's been so many foods, even unbranded kinds, that it doesn't even know so I had to search over the internet to know the amount of calories I'm eating and it's very inconvenient and frustrating.

You have to add more vitamins, minerals, like c, a, d, iron, calcium the way app is good but need more development.but don't feel bad for 2 rating that will keep u motivated to keep u r app updated with such quires thank u. Waiting for ur update soon..

Great app with lots of automatic info on your calories and macro intake, great food calorie library to help determine your daily food intake. Syncs to my fitbit as well.

Never calorie counted before, so was a bit iffy, this is fab, easy peasy, great help from others as well x Def Def recommend xx Im now having problems since phone updated itself, wont let me increase or decrease gramms for foods etc, just freezes. Tia x

Excellent for tracking your macros (fat protein and carbs). You can type in what you ate or what you plan to eat or both for a forecast of your macros percentage. Good good good this app is.

Im on a kj control eating plan but converted my daily total to carbs its nice if you change a few things to see that you still fit in your daily allowance. It literally keeps track on everything!!! Love it!!

I enjoy the app because I still eat what I want, I am just more conscious about portion control and choice of food and through that I have lost weight successfully.

Great app, except does not let me add custom meals. I use My Muscle Chef meals and you would think the app would have an option to manually input a meal for lunch etc. But no, so uninstalled and not useful.

I use this app as a daily tracker for a keto diet plan. The cookbook let's me build keto recipes giving me the macros. This site does have a recipe section and a quick lookup tab for foods, etc. Easy to navigate.

Mostly easy to follow. I like the way it looks. I do find the main menu a bit difficult to understand but eventually you sort it out. Good app!

Fat secret takes all of the guess work for tracking food and drink intake. Much easier to figure out what foods I need to eat to meet my macro goals to lose weight.

Basically a free version of my fitness pal. A great way to track calories and macros. Truly appreciated and runs great on my Samsung Galaxy S10! Aaaa+++

Yes Ben, I tried top contact you via the only email address you offer. No one replied, I had to write a negative review in order to get a response. I was logging in direct. I haven't used the application in a few weeks, so I needed to reset my password and it will not let me do that. If you use the password reset link and the password it gives you, it just says login failed no matter what you enter. It has been a rather frustrating experience.

Very nice calorie tracker. Has a few flaws but it is my favorite. Give it a chance!

Easy to use, great interface, would recommend if you are looking for an easy calorie counter

very good app.i watch all my calorie and nutririon .this app seperate all nutrition and give quick look carb, protein, fat . it include all type od food. really i enjoyed it . i loss 8 kg weight in 3 month help of this app. thanks

Good for calorie counting. Great data base of foods. I would like to be able to put in my steps walked each day to help with calories burned.

summer 2019 = app no longer synchs with phone. I've been using it for about 10 years, don't understand what happened. Phone version

I love this app! It makes calorie counting easy. The reports allow me to see my nutrient intake throughout the day so that I can better plan my next meal.

I enjoy this app, it helps me keep track of my calories and makes me accountable to myself. I find that calorie counting works the best for me.
