Try the free Family Link parental controls app from Google. Whether your children are young or in their teens, the Family Link app lets you remotely set digital ground rules from your own device to help guide them as they learn, play and explore online. For children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your country), Family Link also lets you create a Google Account for your child that's like your account, with access to most Google services.

With Family Link parental controls, you can:

Guide them to good content

• View their app activity − Not all screen time is the same. Help your child make healthy decisions about what they do on their Android device, with activity reports showing how much time they’re spending on their favourite apps. You can monitor their usage with daily, weekly or monthly reports.
• Manage their apps − Handy notifications let you approve or block apps that your child wants to download from the Google Play Store. You can also manage in-app purchases, and hide specific apps on their device, all with remote access from your own device.

Keep an eye on screen time

• Set limits − It’s up to you to decide the right amount of screen time for your child. Family Link lets you set time limits and a bedtime for their supervised devices, so you can help them find a good balance.
• Lock their device - Whether it’s time to go and play outside, have dinner or just spend time together, you can remotely lock a supervised device whenever it’s time to take a break.

See where they are

• It’s helpful to be able to see your kids' location when they’re on the go. You can use Family Link to help locate them as long as they’re carrying their Android smartphone, tablet or other devices.

Important information

• Family Link’s tools vary depending on your child’s device. See a list of compatible devices at
• While Family Link helps you manage your child's purchases and downloads from Google Play, they will not need approval to install app updates (including updates that expand permissions), apps that you have previously approved or apps that have been shared in the Family Library. Parents should regularly review their child’s installed apps and app permissions in Family Link.
• You should carefully review the apps on your child’s supervised device and disable those that you don’t want them to use. Note that you may not be able to disable some pre-installed apps.
• To see the location of your child's or teenager's device, it must be powered on, recently active and connected to the Internet.
• While Family Link provides tools to manage your child’s online experience, it does not make the Internet safe. Rather, it is intended to give parents choices about how their children use the Internet, and encourage conversations about Internet use.

App ChangeLog

  • Several stability improvements and bug fixes.

Worst app ever! I thought this will help me to managed my son's frequent installing of diff apps and so to avoid me from unexpected billings. But it almost gets my son's phone broken. With that Family link for children, it makes the phone glitchy and System UI has stopped and you can't even do anything on the phone. Thank God, after 3x of power off, I just did remove my son's email on my Family Link for parent and then uninstall the one on my son's phone. It resolves the issue from there. 🤦😤😠

app This app is terrible it has so many problems. First of all it drains one's battery as if it is nothing. I have to stay near the charger at all times. Secondly, it keeps on saying that the location is not available and says my daughter's device is offline while she is online all along. That is very dangerous because if my daughter is out with friends she can be in danger and I will not be able to know where she is.

iphone I got this app because it was supposed to be good to control what your child sees and locates their phone. Unfortunately the location device sucks and doesn't work unless you are right beside them. Also the controls are horrible you can pick and choose things. I still use it but only because I haven't found anything better. But seriously FIX the location device!!!!!

app download This app has some shocking bugs: particularly if you give "bonus time" it often unlocks the device for the rest of the day; and it often forgets to give my son 15 and 5 minute warnings, upsetting him quite a bit when the it suddenly locks without warning. Amazingly, google doesn't care. When contacted I was told that times are probably out of sync - which is bull. To Google's response: I *did* report it, don't be daft. No one cares. I have to raise the issue in public like this to get interest

review This app is the absolute worst. I and many others turned my kid's phone into a paper weight because of this app. If you're setting up your child's phone but can't because Google play services keeps stopping, try taking out the sim card and putting yours in it. That bypasses the constant error from Google. I deleted her Gmail/family link account before setting up the phone not knowing that it would do this. I'd rather check her phone multiple times a day than deal with this headache. Bad Google!

apk Loving this app! It helps me manage and monitor my son's (6 y/o) screen time, which is so important. I love that he has to get permission to download apps. There is so much online these days and my main priority is to keep him safe. This app allows that. Not to mention the alert for us to actually find his tablet, which somehow is always "missing" when we're ready to leave the house.

  7. FatherOfLOL-avatar

pc I've been able to choose the apps my kid can use, which I expected. The pleasant surprise was that I can also set time limits on each app or easily temporarily block them. It's been a lot easier to manage how my kid uses the Chromebook. I do wish that I could do all approvals from my phone instead of being forced to enter my password on the Chromebook. I can do that for some things, but not all. I think it was purchases that required the password on the device itself.

download The app was barely sufficient, terrible glitches, long delay times relaying information with my child's phone. However a lot of the features work fine, it's nice being able to restrict access to a child who cannot restrict themselves. However today was the final bullet, I will never reccomended Family Link to family or friends, ever. This is because today my child needed to sign into her school account, on her phone, which required my password. I was not with her or the phone.

  9. Mert-avatar

delete account Needs a major improvement similar to Apple's Screen time. Generally it's working good but I'm quite annoyed giving each application individually time limit. There should be option to group them, like games, and i add games that should be in that group. I set a time to this group and my kid can play whatever game or app within that groups time limit. How can I fix time for each game, 10 min to this, 10 min to that. Urgently fix this

features Very painful to customize for different kids, especially if you just want to limit the settings to a few features like screen time or automatic shut down. There really needs to be an ability to turn off all features and only enable only the ones you want. Instead, perfectly normal apps stop working on the managed phone and the lousy UI and poor documentation on the parent phone makes it almost impossible to figure out why. UPDATE: It's worse than I reported before. Settings don't stick. For some utterly mysterious reason, the desktop interface has different functions than the phone interface. And let me emphasize: THE SETTINGS DON'T STICK. It's worse than useless.

Great app to "try" to have a control on the digital life of our kids, the time limit is cause of infinite fights between us, but at the moment unlimited time it's not an option. Anyway it will be a nice addition to have a sort of messaging app inside the app to send short messages between parents and kids.

Not for older kids, this worst to delete! I have two kids 7 and 11 the older one wants to use you tube and it's impossible when this app. I trust him to watch videos. And he is at an age that I would like to monitor things more than this app allows. So we decided to go with a different app. The process of now getting rid of family link is an absolute nightmare! I had to delete his email address and wipe his phone just to do it all because he is under 13 and Google don't think I should.

This has been a great app for me to have a peace of mind as to what my children are being exposed to. I have used it for two years with my son until he aged out and now I'm using it with my daughter. There were some "glitches" as my son would call it, that he figured out to be able to bypass the time limit but they have since fixed them. Time limits, bedtime, I even like that when I set up a new device for my child, when I put her email in, it initiated the Family Link automatically.

Excellent app. I love it. Super easy to use. I have 5 children of various age groups added to this app. It makes moderating apps and setting limits super easy. They have to ask my approval before installing apps. And i can set individual timers/bedtimes. So i know when they get a device. They can not access something they shouldn't. Great for peace of mind while they're online. We all know we can't be everywhere all the time.

Good app but still so much to do : + Really good to manage screentime of my 3 kids on the different devices : phone, Chromebook, tablet - missing 1 : YouTube management (even for kids under 13). The killer feature would be an option where I could select authorized YouTube channels and playlists for each of my kid. - missing 2 : fine tuning of authorized sites and domains. A good functionality could be : auto add all browsed domains and sites in the authorized list for the next 2 minutes.

  16. Amanda Cassell-avatar

The app does not work the way it says it does. It does not lock when time limits are reached. Instead it changes the time limit to unlimited once the time limit has been reached. The same goes for scheduled bedtimes. When the bedtime arrives the app changes it to bedtime cancled. When I lock childs phone frome my phone it unlocks again on its own within a few minutes. I tried to troubleshoot by re-downloading the app but that did not fix any of the problems.

I think the Digital Wellbeing update is basically the same as this app. You should probably just do away with the app and let us control this through the settings in the Digital Wellbeing section. (Bring back Google Play Music in its place...js) also it should be integrated into Google One and Google Home. You have to many apps that should just be part of one suit.

Horrible app that is useless Now he's reached 13 unable to access the setting where he can take control. The email link just goes to a page that displays this message: Looks like you're trying to sign in with an account that can't go here. No help whats so ever. I might as well reset his phone and just give him total control. And it ALWAYS misreports times. You add up all the app times used and it's well under the total time its showing.

There are some features that are really missing. 1) Setting to disable ability to switch off the mobile internet and/or WiFi by the kid. Otherwise kid can unintentionally get lost from the radar. 2) Ability to configure silent mode on the schedule. It is good to turn on silent mode during the lessons, and off during breaks. Holidays need no silent mode at all. Now you are able to provide only one time period for silent mode which is supposed to be night. 3) Actually give us right to enable YouTube!!! YouTube kids is awful app which suggests videos for dumbs and there is no way to filter them out!

  20. Randall Sexton-avatar

This is bad. The controls make little sense, and if you want to relax them for your child, it's nearly impossible. Once you link accounts, you can't unlink them. Your only remedy is to delete your child's account and all its data. Please reconsider how this was implemented. It's making me ponder on extracting my family from the Google ecosystem.

  21. Alex B-avatar

    Alex B

Really half baked attempt at family controls. You can only have one manager, and it's impossible to transfer ownership. Transferring means deleting all of your children's accounts, not just from a device but entirely deleting them, and recreating from scratch. This is an app that was clearly made to check a feature box for Android and has little actual effort put into it.

What is your favorite part of this app? How about everything! The affordable cost on checking on my 10 year old and knowing he's safe online. Best feature in my book has to be the GPS tracking as he walks home from school, seeing that he's staying on the straight path home.

PRO: More reliable connection and easier to navigate than other apps such as Family360 etc. I can check my kids have used homework apps such as doulingo, maths, kindle reading etc and how long use was. CON: Doesnt currently have notifications for child leaving / entering designated area such as school. I still have Family360 installed for this reason. This app could be amazing if integrated with google assistant to ask location of child while driving etc.

Excellent. I was concerned of what our kids could come across when browsing. The app is great as it has a few options including asking for your approval to download apps and access websites which can be added to the approved list. You can also disable their device at a tap and set the time frame that they can use it so no more sneaking it to bed to play until late on a school night. At this time, I highly recommend it.

Love this app helps me control what my children do and how much screen time they get can locate it and it's amazing how they have to ask to download anything great for younger children me and my old man have it on our phones to help limit the bs they take in so far it's great. Have used tracking as well it's accurate. My step son ran away with my younger sons phone and was able to locate him quick. Great app recommend this app for any parent that has younger children they need to supervise

I see a few negative reviews but I suppose it depends what you want it for. My 13 year old is constantly glued to his phone and staying up late at night watching YouTube videos etc. It causes huge teenager style arguments when I take it off him. With the app I can set a timer to lock the phone at 10pm and come back on @ 8am. The only way to alter that is with a password that i know. As a consequence I make the restrictions earlier - he can still make and receive calls but can't use anything else

  27. Tenisha Presley-avatar

This app only makes monitoring and accessing my child's account more difficult. I was able to easily access my child's account by simply signing in to it on my own device. I could see all of his history, emails, location, and sign out of all of his devices. I could also access his calendar, clasroom, drive files, and passwords. I can no longer keep my device signed in to the account because of the new restrictions and this app lets me see a fraction of what I was able to access before.

  28. Phoenix-avatar

So overall the app is good, however it blocks YouTube for under 13s. End. Of. The. World. Half the time it can't locate them(I've tried different networks and devices). The family pay doesn't work properly. But I can lock kids device when I want. And check screen time. Set bedtimes. Will be keeping but tweaking certain things.

Beware! Once you link a child's account, it cannot be removed without deleting the account. I accidentally linked my 5th grader's school account while signing her into my chromebook, and now we're stuck with it. Her classes won't open properly now. I hope the school district's IT department is more helpful than Google's was.

  30. t b-avatar

Almost ideal....but..... It works great for a one user (child) device however there is a massive limitation that they can't watch YouTube only kidstube until they are 13. There is no option to bypass this (nor a technical workaround - I am a IT Pro with 20yrs exp). My son hates Google because he can't watch youtube videos. The controls aside from this are good but if you lie and say they are 13, you then lose a lot of these controls. So a great idea that interacts well but is not practical IRL

The app is good and flexible. I can restrict access and time to any device and any app on that device. I can also, which a feature missing from Xbox family app, add time on add-hoc requests from my kids for example give them 30 more minutes instead of having to adjust the daily time limit. My kids don't argue with screen time like they do with me, if this app says time is up, they accept it. The location feature is also very good and comforting for parents.

  32. Vesna Stojakovic-avatar

It might be a good application if it actually worked or better described at the beginning. I managed a whole bunch of complicated settings, to find out the hard way that the time limit for each application (which is actually the only feature I need) is not available for my daughter's phone. I had to install another application that can manage each app time individually.

I had heard great things about this app, but whenever I try setting it up on my phone and my child's phone, I just get a message "Something went wrong" and it won't setup, no other information, very frustrating, and can't find anywhere to get support from google to help me set it up, just getting sent to help articles that don't address the issue

  34. kent paulsen-avatar

The app does what it's supposed to, but it blows my mind that I can't group apps. I can only set device lock-time and individual limits for each app/game. The way it is now the kids can cycle through the games and play each game the allotted limit. It would be better if I could have some apps without limits (phone, sms, messenger, alarm clock) and group all non-essential apps (games, youtube, chrome) and set a shared time-limit for the group.

  35. RD Raj-avatar

No option for controlling notification panel. For this I can't set or control Wifi, data connection, brightness etc. Also there is no option for setting time schedule for using applications like : block any app for 14:00 - 16:00 & 20:00 - 22:00. Add these features. It will be very helpful.

  36. daylus-avatar

A useful tool but in desperate need of an overhaul/bug fixes. I can't find an option to remove old devices that no longer work, location only works on with one of the two devices and despite searching for solutions, unable to switch to the other. My daughter is 12 and is limited to kids you tube, a program suitable for up to about age 6. I also can't set different time limits for each device. If one is 2 hours screen time, they all have 2 hours - that 2 hours EACH, not between them.

  37. Brandon-avatar

Easy to use, would be nice to have more filters for content such as black list and other details. The only internet filter is for "adult content" a little vague and broad. Would be nice to set for violence, pornography, chat or other specific content that different parents would like to restrict. Overall all good app especially for the price 👍😎

  38. Mike Capstick-avatar

Parents DO NOT INSTALL!!! I thought this would be great way to lightly monitor my sons phone usage, but it turns out that Google know better about parenting my own child than I do. It is monumentally restrictive, and you can't get rid of it without terminating the account. I found a great email address for my son that will now be useless as I'll have to set another account up from scratch. I trust him with apps like YouTube, but this app doesn't allow that. I hope I'm missing something!

I've set up my children account to do not allow any download without my permission, including the "All Ages" apps. From few weeks ago, I could see that him was able to install some "All Ages" apps. The strange this it is happening only with some apps, others apps with the same requirement is sent to me that I can decide if I approve or not. May I did some wrong configuration?

There are things I really like about this app, but so many things that are just making me lose my mind. There needs to be a setting for parents to bypass limits that google thinks kids should have. For example, we're remote schooling and I bought the kids Chromebooks specifically for schooling and we set up a family link account, but now my kids can't watch any of the youtube videos their teachers are posting for class! This has caused so much frustration and many tears from the kids, as class is happening in real time. So when they have to run out to my computer (thankfully I have an extra!) and quickly log in to try to watch the youtube, they are missing real class time. And there have been apps they need to use for school which they can't. Also, I have 6 kids and can't even put all my kids on one family link account with both parents.I really wish this app would work better for our family. I do like how I can set limits and bedtimes and screen time limits for the kids, well, the ones I can fit on my Family account...

  41. ellie-avatar

This app works great for us but one thing that they definitely to revise in future updates is to let us select some apps to always be allowed after downtime. For example, I want to allow phone and texting after it locks but unless I am just not finding how to do this, the option is not available. This is a huge deal for us and I may try another app that allows this.

This app is very helpful as a whole! However, would like to ask Family link if I could stop monitoring the GPS? The setting was made in a way that either child switch on gps all the time or child gps is switch off all the time. I want to allow child to decide when to switch on or off her gps. Hope to hear from family link soon on this matter.

Beware of this poorly conceived app. It is automatically used for Google accounts for kids, and you can't remove it without deleting kid's Google account. However, it doesn't work well with PC Chrome/Youtube. Can't enable youtube at all for kid below 13 for his classwork. Video listed as restricted even in YouTube restricted mode off. Even when relogging in Chrome as parent. Even in Edge. Help lists options which don't show up in app. I have worked in IT 20+ years and couldn't make it work.

When this works, it is a good way of monitoring the activity of my kid's. However, it seems to have a mind of its own as the limits will change or turn off without me making changes. The "Bedtime" function also frequently fails to activate! If someone can explain why this happens, would be nice.

Cannot be used for devices shared by multiple children. A child account cannot be added to a device where the parent is logged in as the owner. Our tablet has not been used for half a year after the reset. Until the tablet reset, the accounts worked as they should. Poorly.

I love that this links with my Google account. I can see everything my son downloads, where he is, apps he uses, etc. Problem is, everytime I set time limits, my selection doesnt save. I really would like it to work like it should and shut off my kid's phone when the limit is reached. New Comment (Aug28.2020): I almost hate this app. Nothing I program ever sticks. I constantly have to reprogram all my options for my kids. Its awful!!

It's a shame that everyone else supposedly has good reviews about this app. Yet again I made an attempt to set everything up and yes I followed everything step by step. Well, for some reason I (the parent) can't even update anything on my end... Yet still waiting for a response. I'll change my review the moment this is made right.

We've tried to get rid of parental control with downloading apps you pay for but switching it off still won't allow my son to download the game we want. This is very frustrating. We've gone through family link many times to try and fix the problem but we've been unsuccessful every time. Very annoying and so far I've found this app useless!

Difficult to manage a family device with mix of adult, older and younger children. I have been trying to remove my youngest account from the device and the instructions provided by google do not match experince in the app. Still cannot delete. Wish I would not have used the app and just continued to monitor with my firewall router. I do like some of the youtube features but still better to monitor with firewall and good ol' talk about internet safety and microwave timer :)

There are no perfect parental control systems, but Family Link is quite good, as long as everyone is on an android device. The only feature I feel is truly missing is the ability to set certain apps to be always available, even if the phone is locked down for the night. I would like to allow my kids to listen to their music or have access to certain school apps, even if everything else is shut off. Overall, it's easy to use and functions pretty intuitively.

It breaks a lot. If my child leaves the home wifi, they can't log in and parent access won't work. Similarly, the location doesn't work. Right now I want to log into the phone and update an app, and it won't let me ("Something went wrong" is all it says). I literally cannot access the phone. When it does work, it works pretty well... but it doesn't work a lot (not bad for Covid stay-at-home order, but otherwise bad).

This app when I first got it was good. Now it's just frustrating. Every time I unlock a phone from my app it still will not unlock the phone. I have to put in a parental access code which is really frustrating when I'm in the middle of doing something and should be able to just unlock it from the app

Great app to make sure my kids stay focused especially during school at home. Suggestion for developer: Add something like "app groups" that we can add apps to in order to unlock/ lock/ time limit the group. That way we can lock all games in 1 tap instead of going through each individual app to lock or unlock or set time limits for. It gets annoying & very time consuming having to go in 3x/day for 2 kids and editting multiple apps for both kids. This would be a huge success I think.

Love it! It works great for setting timmer in apps, maintaining screen control and a bedtime limit. Only problem is that if tablet has 2 users linked to the child's email (one for kid's personal games and another for the child's school use); when making the user swap, the app confuses and think the tablet is locked but the child is really using the other user. Other than that, it is perfect!

This app isn't all bad. It has great functionality options but doesn't quite execute them all. Most importantly, this app doesn't update the time my child has spent on the Chromebook that day. I can look at past days, but no update on how much time spent in the current day. To me this is a major flaw and makes this app pretty much useless.

Doesn't look like Google is even trying. It's very hard to get any type of support and experience is very limited and buggy. I can't manage individual devices times and I can't stop monitoring or remove one specific device. We use a Chromebook for learning from home and that is also limited with screen time that cannot be different than other devices used for playing time. I have encountered several issues when trying to setup Classroom and Meet, the error descriptions are enigmatic at best.

Super easy to manage my kids devices This App is the main reason my household left Apple devices to start using Android devices (cells and laptops). I have two young children that now use laptops and cell phones. This app helps me stay in the know of what they do with their devices, set limits, cut-off hours at night, lock devices remotely, etc. It is really easy to use and learn (unlike iOS which I found impossible to use effectively). Love it.

Update 9/3/20 I originally gave this app 5 stars and a great review 2 years ago. But now I'm frustrated with this app because it allowed someone to change my daughter's password and now I can't view anything of hers. I tried to reset with my email account but it's saying it doesn't recognize it. This ap is supposed to help me feel safe but how can someone get into her account and do that when it's a child's account under my account?! She is locked out of her phone and I can't do anything!

The app worked just OK until I not longer needed it. When my kids where old enough to no longer need it on their devices, I tried deleting it with no luck. I deleted one kid user's account, which automatically deletes his gmail account but that didn't remove Family Link from his devices. I than deleted our entire Family link account, which may things worse. All the kid's devices are still connected to the original account and when I try and manage them from the parental account, it doesn't recognize the family account and wants me to set everything up again. I am now stuck with 2 phones and 2 tablets with Family Link on them and no administrative account to manage the settings. I can't even factory reset them, as it asks for an administrator approval. Any suggestions on howto fix are welcome... there has got to be an easier app out there. And the support email address list for this app "is no longer being monitored".

I love this app, of course our son doesn't love it at all I doubt he even likes it. That being said it is a perfect tool to help parent your child. You can't always be there looking over a child's shoulder but this app does give you peace of mind and allows you to parent while still letting your child maintain some independence. If you choose to ground your child you can simply lock the device or lock any apps.

usefull but glitchy, also needs a desktop version of the app. I have broke my phone and had a struggle accesing the account for my boys. We also had an issue recently when we went away and the boys had no data, the phone locked and I could not unlock the phone at all, until we came home. it needs to allow access to wifi settings when out of data. As it basically rendered my Sons phone useless

5 stars for the service. What can I say first of all I had major issues with this App where my Sons phone would not work and after deleting the app I still had major problems. I got in touch with the support team and I have to say the service I received was first class. When one adviser was unable to help they passed me over to someone higher they promised to contact me back within 48 hours they did in less time. Now my sons phone is working.

There was only option as guest user mode for installing our apps. But i tried third-party parenting apps in same guest user, its working fine will all functions. Update: eventually the kid's device synced up with screen time and bed time settings and locked. Not sure how reliable it will be, but limiting screen time is the main reason I set this up. If it keeps working well I'll update to 5 stars. Old review: My phone says "locked till 7am" and the kid's device is completely unlocked free to do whatever they want. Wasted 30 minutes of my life setting this ip.

Extremely helpful monitoring my daughter's tablet. Nothing can get downloaded without my appoval and I'm able to set time limits, see what and how long she has played on the apps or youtube. Any and everything I'm able to see from my phone. (Even her location) By far the best app for monitoring your kids devices. And it's free! You can pay for apps like this with by far less than this one offers.

There are so many functions in this app that help with monitoring and keeping a keen eye on what our daughter is playing. Some key functions are , setting bedtimes and limiting playtime , there's also a feature that makes the phone ring (perfect for lost phones lol) , you are able to block apps and even lock the phone from your phone however I did this once and it wouldn't unlock for some reason , so we had to restore factory settings on the phone and lost all her data. Great tool for parents!

It's free and its functions are getting better. I like how Family Link can add bonus time to within blocked time and lock individual apps regardless. Can we have a function to add exceptions when locked? Example, school online platform app is added as an exception so the child can access his school work even when the device is locked, or have access to his email and messages so s/he can contact parents via messaging apps.

This app blocks and disables the Samsung Galaxy Store which prevents you from updating Samsung apps, downloading apps or purchasing apps from Samsung. Also, Samsung apps that have bugs or security issues cannot be fixed or updated.

I just wish it gave us more control over the kids' Gmail accounts! Why can't we read emails and be in charge of all settings!? Aren't they too young and we are their parents! There is an issue in locking child's device. You lock it in your phone but it takes time to actually lock in the child's phone a lot of time . I hate this app with a passion. Don't touch it unless you want to enter a nightmarish cycle of futility. I created a family group with one kid and unbeknownst to me my wife did the same with another. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO MERGE THEM. the only "fix" is to delete (1) one child's Google account - and (2) delete the family group and then (3) get invited to join the other family group, and (4) create a new Google account for the child whose account was deleted. I've spent hours to no end.

THIS APP IS TOO EASY FOR CHILDREN TO HACK! GOOGLE NEEDS TO BE SMARTER THAN CHILDREN! Easy to set limits and turn off child's phone. The reason it is getting 2 stars is due to the locate child function. It takes too long to locate or doesn't locate at all. It needs to refresh quicker so you are able to track your child as they are moving. I use another app for this and it works perfectly. Please work on this issue Google. It should be a live update and exact location of your child at all times.

Great app for keeping those kids unglued from their devices and keeping tabs on what they do BUT it has one huge flaw that has been reported on since 2018! The app does the basic stuff pretty well. Would give it 5, however the screen time limits will only allow my kids to receive calls, but won't get notifications and they can't call out, I wish there was a screen time limit that let you opt to still access the phone AND allows for making calls and sending text with everything else disabled. As a child that has to deal with this app everyday since last year I've hated .You literally have to ask for every single app that you want, cant get the apps that is 13+ because it's going to flagged as inappropriate, have to ask to go to a website, your phone has a bedtime in which it locks ect. What's the point of giving your child a phone if your not going to let them do anything on it and try to control there every move. DONT GIVE YOUR CHILD A PHONE IF ALL YOUR GOING TO DO IS TAKE OVER IT :)

Some apps are permanently blocked .For example, YouTube may be hidden on a child's phone or may not be open. And not all apps are controlled by the parent and some are permanently hidden. Non-Google parent apps do not have this problem. So fill in the blanks for this app

Family link is fantastic!! It means I can keep a subtle eye on what my 11 year old does with his Phone. I authorise his downloads, and can monitor how long he spends on different apps, I can even limit his time on the phone by setting shutdown times, and can locate his phone within 3 meters.

Can't even access the app itself, always trying to verify my age and still the error message "something's not right, try again" pops out over and over again. I dunno if it was because of OS issue but did try on my other device (another Redmi Note) and was completely working.

Essential parenting. I would really appreciate being able to group apps together and set timers, so I can limit the amount of time my kid plays games in total without preventing access to camera and messaging apps, but that's not here yet.

Much improved! The original app was way too restrictive but it looks like they have made it a little more lax. I only use this to prevent YouTube watching during school hours and it does that perfectly.

Fantastic features, easy to use, good to control. Only issue is youtube should be allowed to kids in the same normal youtube app and parent should be able to set if links from play store can be seen, and age restrictions etc etc. We are facing difficulties in youtube and have to open guest account and use youtube

This app is great. I have complete control over the apps the my children can download and easily remove apps if I find out later they are inappropriate. I also love how easy it is to control their screen time and reward them with extra for good behavior. It also keeps me in the know if they try to change there password.

It works great, I use it to track my son but its a little slow on location and doesn't tell you the exact location. They could be at a certain address but it will say "near so and so address"

For the most part family link is an exceptional app. However, there are some flaws. But before i get into the flaws, here is a pertinent question. Can the child access blocked content using Google assistant? In relation to the flaws previously mentioned, please tweak your app to address these weaknesses. 1) on some devices, i have noticed that the child is able to bypass the bedtime lock screen by toggling some combination of the recent apps button and the home button. 2) Why is the child able to reinstall deleted apps without parent permission? 3) Although a rating is in place and certain websites are restricted, the child is still able to view blocked content via certain in-app browsers. 4) Should have the ability to adjust time limits for apps for each device independently. 5) the child has unrestricted access to download and install apps from app stores other than google play.(eg huawei app gallery).

Good app. It would be great if it allowed for multiple windows of time to be on/off for kids to use, allow for access to a site/app only in certain days/times and limit time spent by the app/site per day.

It's been very helpful in allowing me to monitor and have conversations with my daughter about her activity on her phone. I also like that I can pinpoint her location if I ever needed to.

Love that I can monitor my 7 year old time. Love how you can limit play time for each individual app or for the tablet as a whole. You can lock it all together. You can set a bed time. I just love all the features! Definitely recommend!

Dear developer please allow some essential things like phone, torch , calculator, sms when phone is locked ( when bed time or when daily uses is over ) i think it is good for their safty. I m using this for my daughter from last 1 year and that is very good app but i feel somtimes if these option can be available for her then it will be benifitial.

Great way to keep track of kids! The only downfall is my SD can't watch any YouTube videos besides YouTube kids, which I understand, but it would be nice to have the option to turn off and on- so we could set certain limits ourselves.
