Pretty much junk. Audio keeps stopping. I'm aware there may be a setting to override everything else on your phone, but that's silly and renders your phone useless for anything else when this program is in use. Also, once it stops you have to restart the whole chapter. Great idea but...

Cannot extend subscription or add other books to the account? Definitely not user friendly, the school nor Pearson offer any resolution. When selecting online courses, Definitely think twice if your etext is provided by Pearson.

This has no use for me as there is no option to view only the book(s) I need/have for class, I can only search for the book and hope I get the right one.

I have this 3 stars because I felt the reader worked ok for needed reading, highlighting, notes... etc. Then it started crashing. Repeatedly. I havent been able to get the app to load for over.4.days. I understand that in theory switching to etext is supposed be the wave of the future but nothing beats a regular book. Unfortunately I can't afford paper books through peasrson (not discounting the level of work or research involved in creating text books). So, now I read text online.

App keeps shutting down! I have tried to reach out to Pearson and there is no response on the 24 hour support chat. My child cannot move forward in his AP course work. This is very frustrating for an online student!!! Oh phone support is non-existent too and changed the password twice and it will not let him in. HELP!!

Would be a better app, if you could read the text in portrait mode without having to zoom in and scroll side to side. Also, if you were able to change the background to Sepia or another dim lit background.

Great Resource. Unfortunate to have to keep paying every year for access to e text though.. have spent so much money!! Highlighting is slow so I don't use it but otherwise very handy and nice and clear text and pictures. Would LOVE read out loud feature.

When compare to the Kindle app, this app is really bad. None of the features mentioned mentioned in the package work. It's horrible. I honestly don't understand why professors force their students to purchase books that uses these type of apps for support.

Can't use Moon Reader Pro. Forced to use mediocre app. I understand they don't want these books pirated. Nothing is keeping someone from ripping the spine off a book and scanning in to OCR. There is a wealth of features that Moon Reader has that are missing from this basic app. Can't download to PDF.

Works great & saved my butt because my computer is having issues loading the text! When I try to read it through Canvas it's terrible; although, the Canvas app is good for course viewing.

I would like to see a read aloud feature. It's how I read books, since words tend to mix together for me, especially on mobile. Disappointing this wasn't considered sooner.

These etext books have almost nothing to do with the questions asked. It is impossible to find the anwsers to questions on the website using tour text books. Googling is much more effective. This is a waste of money and colleges should stop using this. It frustrates me so much.

The zoom options are terrible and make it very difficult to read the text. It also makes me sign back in every time I open the app, which for the nature of the app seems unnecessary. The book un-downloads from the app bookshelf and also adds much more time to my studying. This app unfortunately needs a lot of work and if a hard copy was available for my book I would swap--which I usually prefer etextbooks.

The app needs lots of improvement including adding a read aloud function, and additional highlighter colors. I always encounter issues when highlighting content as the highlight option always disappear.

2020-10-30T03:14:44.794Z
I can't highlight anything with math equations! It makes all of my prior highlights disappear or sometimes the equations don't even load saying there's an error. It's so difficult to highlight the text with this issue... Sometimes the practice questions don't show up either and say there's an error. At least this is not as bad as the mcgraw hill textbooks but lots of improvements are needed to make this app even remotely good on my tablet

This APP needs A LOT of work. The zoom options are terrible and it needs native text resizing. The sorting of the available text is atrocious. It took me over 5 minutes to find my text and when I reopened the app the first time it was not even sorted to the top, on second reload it did sort to top, but then when I rebooted my phone it did it again and took a couple times before it sorted to top again. I would also like to see if sort the text you have the class for to the top, since I did this this through MPL. No matter what device I have this on, this needs serious work. More options and features to make it usable.

2021-01-08T21:51:23.453Z
Ok for reading and highlighting but the feature used to fill in the blanks of the textbook does not work on this app. Also the interactive activities work only half of the time.
Michael Acevedo
2020-11-23T04:47:24.330Z
Zoom is horrible. The app lags and it's difficult to enlarge a specific area. I'm on a folding phone and when switching to landscape, it will lock in the most widest view possible making the reading impractical. Switching between landscape and portrait will cause the side of the book to be cut off and I'll have to restart the app. Unfortunately Pearson forces you to use this app if you want to do any reading on mobile

Works fine with me, the only real criticism is when zooming in and out it lags and doesn't always work well. Apart from that its good Edit: btw i mean zooming with pinch, the zoom feature works well on the app but if you just want to zoom with your fingers without the buttons it doesnt work as well

2020-12-31T10:26:12.170Z
This app is awful. It frequently does not save the correct location, is very laggy, and highlighting passages often does not work. When highlighting the passage does work it often does not let you highlight what you want, forcing you to highlight either more or less than you attempted to, or even breaking words.

Quite disgusting really Sell books for a high price to use them on a platform that doesn't even work? I can't download eBooks on this rubbish app let alone use them because literally loading a single page takes five seconds. Just buy a physical copy from your local bookstore.

Stupidly bugged and doesn't work properly on phones. Doesn't zoom in Zoom out or sweep right or left properly. And I think that's why they say doesn't work on tablets because it's shity on phone.

This app is absolute garbage, just buy the book, don't waste money on an etext that uses this. Other pearson books use an app called bookshelf that has a text reader, which was the whole reason for paying extra for this. It doesn't have it. The only audio is some author commentary, the app itself was a nightmare to get working, and I work in IT. Once in, the app was completely unusable, it skips and bounces all over, its ugly and painful to read and navigate
Michael Griffith
2020-10-17T02:11:52.388Z
Not functional. Crashes after single use. Uninstall and reinstall each time you want to access your content. After paying nearly $100 to rent a textbook, this is completely unacceptable. Add to that poor design when it does work. How can a 1000 page book lack links in the table of contents?

I really like this app - nice to read and awesome practice abilities that you can take with you anywhere. I do wish the audio chapter reviews were available. Of course it isn't going to have every option (such as highlighting) available like the computer version, but thats to be expected with an app (but that would be cool as well *wink*) Overall, im glad this app exist, makes it easier for me as a busy mom of two on the go trying to keep up on my studies

The reading experience might be okai on tablets but it is quite unpleasant on smartphones: the zoom in is insufficient (text is super small) and the never receding menu option tabs (top and bottom) occupy too much space while reading, especially in landscape mode leaving us little space for the actual pages. Lastly, it's impossible to move through the pages diagonally when zoomed in: I can only go one of the X or Y axis at the time. When these will be optimized I'll review my rating.

Do not update!!!! I was able to access my books on my tablet before updating app, after updating I get a not available for mobile error for the same book that I was using prior to updating. No assistance for getting book back on my tablet and difficulty reading on computer screen. - update on status, I did contact support, case has been elevated through multiple levels, still not able to use the book I was reading prior to the update.

App has a lot of potential to be really good however it is poorly designed for mobile use. If you zoom the screen goes off text and the page is not centered, however, if you don't zoom in the text is almost too small to read.

Nice features, wish the bookmarks synced. Sometimes I'm reading on my phone, sometimes my laptop, sometimes my iPad. The bookmarks don't sync between devices so it's almost a useless feature. I also wish that there was a more mobile friendly version of the textbook, but I realize that it would really depend on the text. Also, you can't highlight (that I've seen).

This review has been changed to reflect the most recent update. The new features are great but it also comes with many new bugs. Highlighting is now very buggy. Self-study questions aren't always accessible on Android devices. I had an issue where all of my notes were gone after the update but the developer was able to restore them eventually. The new functions do not outweigh the new bugs. My case Id is 09386159

updated: yeah it recognizes me now, but would be helpful if it didnt always log me off. it does it frequently, where I get a message/notification saying it logged me off at least 3 times a week. Has nothing to do with my connection. Several times it works, where I dont need to sign in cause it recognizes my information, then the next time it doesn't

Not sure what all of the griping is about. I'm using Android 9 (Pie), and when I log into my University's course dashboard, all of my highlighted notes appear. In addition to that, my bookmark is in place. I would like to see the ability to turn a page in the etext by swiping across the screen, however. The app is convenient when I'm not able to access a desktop (or for times when I do not desire to do so!).

Meh... It'd be better if Pearson just provided a PDF that could be read on other platforms. I wanted to like this app, as the highlighting and notes in the doc could be handy. However, highlighting is a giant pain as it jumps erratically from row to row (if it starts highlighting at all). It's also impossible to read on a phone unless in landscape mode, at which point the bottom line is always cut off. I'm using a note 8 btw. Page numbers on exported notes would be useful too...

Easy to navigate and consolidated. I have multiple classes that use Pearson and it is convenient to have access to all within one app. The navigation in this app is just as easy as their MyLabs online. Edit: I'm now having issues with it "fetching" my bookshelf. In fact, that's all it does regardless of my internet connection. Pretty useless now. Maybe I'll change my rating if the issue is fixed.

I need this book for class, I have low vision. It's very difficult to enlarge the text and it doesn't come with a read aloud feature. How hard can be to give an accessibility feature. Other books I downloaded has that feature. I paid for my textbook and code, just to find out I have download this useless etext, I'm thankful I didn't have to pay for this. Very frustrating!

If possible I'd give it 0 stars. It's slow,it crashes every two minutes, you can't take notes with the stylus, when you zoom it freezes if you try to move around the page, overall shameful how bad it works. Especially since you pay to have the ebook, which then you can't even download as a file and read on your favourite app. Since this one is so bad you should at least give that possibility to people.
Mark Crowe
2019-09-04T23:31:07.494Z
It's bad enough that I can't download the pdf of the digital ebook that I paid for and Pearson forces you to read the pdf using this app if you are using a mobile device. The e-reader format really should be fixed. The next and previous page buttons at the bottom along with the search bar and other buttons at the top cut off parts of the book text. I shouldn't have to be constantly zooming in to read cut off text and I don't need buttons to change pages when I can just swipe left or right.

The app is just ok. There is definitely room for improvement. The app is sometimes glitchy and nonresponsive at times. I hope to see these problems fixed and an option to move the books to an external drive such as an sd card in a future update. Overall this app does what it says it does, and I am somewhat content with it.

Throughout my entire experience with this company. I have had nothing but problems. I created a account and even had it verified. So when I'm trying to get a new etext book on it. It takes me to login and when I do login. It just says you need to register first. I already have a account and I have tried everything. I guess I won't be able to access it for class. Thanks Pearson

Clunky to zoom on text and no highlighting in mobile app from what I can find. Used VitalSource Bookshelf for a course last semester. It was relatively easy to zoom, bookmark and highlight actual text in both the mobile app and web app. Bookmarks and highlights showed on both platforms so it was easy to go back and forth between laptop and phone. Plus the e-textbook cost was half for that course! Pearson please check out your competitors.

Main gripe: really wish we could *name* our bookmarks (like "Normal VS values: Pulse") instead of having only a reference-style description of them. // In itself, really useful for the fact that you get access to your textbooks (well, those for which the whole content is available) from either your phone or a tablet; so you can bring that in class (well, tablet) instead of the thick textbook, and also but mostly–and this is what makes it really awesome for me–let you advance or go through your lectures whenever you have a bit of time (e.g. while waiting at the dealership during a car maintenance appointment). The "other" publisher (because my curriculum prescribes TBs by either Pearson's or that other one) uses Flash technology for allowing (and I guess controlling) access to the digital versions of your TBs, which is essentially useless *unless* I already use/carry my 13" convertible laptop (which is, like, never ever)

Absolutely ghastly service. The Etext website is reminiscent of a website from the days of dial-up Internet. I hoped the app would ease my anguish but unfortunately I've done myself a disservice; my book does not appear to be in my library at all. Were the book available on Amazon Kindle I'd buy it at once. British universities seem to be impervious to reason and torment students by forcing them to use this malfunctioning contraption. One star, deplorable ordeal.

It's a bit slow, I just get frustrated when trying to see the Ebook online through the browser on a regular computer... it's never loading properly... The app works okay but it does not let you move on to the next page unless you search for it. It's annoying trying to figure out what the homework is when all you get is pages numbers and you can't even confirm online what the page is...

Last review was 1 star, since improvements have been made, but still some issues. Initially didn't allow me to login to my account at all. That has been fixed. Once logged in and text has been downloaded, None of the graphics or diagrams are visible. Still needs improvement, will continue to update my review as updates are made to the app.

You would think that with your Pearson Log in, the app would know exactly which book (the one that pertains to the class your enrolled in) would appear in your bookshelf. More than 20 GO! series books appear in my bookshelf. After downloading the one I need, it doesn't match the course. It takes forever to download these PDF's, if you can download them at all. The app frequently times-out while downloading and an error message stating the book can't be downloaded appears.

I usually have very mixed feelings about Pearson and these reviews reflect how I feel. I'm familiar with the web etext, not my favorite. I never make good use of my text book, the formatting is always iffy, it's not super friendly for multitasking on one display, this app loads quick, easy zoom, easy swipe, I'm a fan, I expect to be much more productive with my learning finally having given this a download

Won't download book, it starts to download load then stops then resets. No access to book. My Pearson's user name is kbouhaja44... and if you scroll down, as I'm sure you already know that I'm not the only one having this problem. I'm not sure what you mean by new version, there is no current update to the app that i can download, searched play store couldn't find anything. Still can't download book, 0 access.

There are top and bottom frames which occupy a big surface on the page. It's annoying especially when you use a small tablet, and you cannot get rid of it. Application works extremely slowly. It freezes especially if you rotate the tablet in between horizontal and vertical positions regardless how good your device is. In addition, the application stops working after a while, and you need to uninstall, reinstall, and download all the books again every a couple of weeks.

The UI is poor. There's no audio library other than the authors commentary over the text.. To listen to the text audio I have to sit on the first page of the chapter, it won't allow me to follow along, the audio cuts if I try to read with it. The audio doesn't keep track of where you left off as well, I have to skip ahead using 10 second increments, we could really used a playback skimmer.

It would be a great app if the swipe to a new page wasn't so sensitive. I could be reading a passage and scroll down only to be brought to the next page. Once or twice wouldn't be too bad but one in the three times that I swipe, I will be brought to the next page for the reason that my swipe was slightly curved. It makes it so hard to focus when this happens.

I would give zero star if I can. I just cannot believe in 2019 there is a ebook app that does not support goto page feature. It is so simple, user input a page number and the app just goto there. Now I have to scroll hundreds of pages in order to get what I left last time, such a shame on Pearson! I looked through the reviews and so many users were crying for this feature for years and it is still not being added. The responses is irresponsible by asking for book names, editions, this is not a book feature but an app feature. Can you find a single book that this app can let user jump to a specific page?

After the new update, I have had no problems with the app crashing when there is no user input. The app still occasionally turns blank, but a restart of the app fixes this problem. The search feature shows no results. When I try to download a textbook, it downloads to 1 or 2 percent, then stops, and the "download book" icon reappears.

easy to use, although, a bit slow to react when switching through bookmarks and chapters. Does freeze, but not often, so not a big issue. makes doing homework easier, since I dont need to haul a heavy book around. Only gave 4 stars due to a short delay when opening chapters from contents page, bookmarks page, and somewhat finicky links for help videos. otherwise, this would be a solid 5/5. I highly recomend this app, despite the short delay.

Great way to see my text book whenever couldn't have it with me without having to pay extra. It came with my bundle with the text and Mathlab access. The set up did take a little bit of getting used to to get to specific pages but other than that it was great. Got to zoom in to all the diagrams and was able to see print very clearly.

This app is not user friendly, it takes too much time to load every page. I need to tap on everything more than one time before it actually open or go to next page. Zooming a page also took up much time. I hope this app will be more user friendly in the next update because we did pay to get this feature.

I generally tend not to leave horrible or bad reviews, especially for free apps, given that I'm a software developer myself and empathize with many of the problems. However, the fact of the manner is this: 1. This app is for people who purchase the etexts, which is a product, thus neccesitating higher quality. 2. Highlighting formulas on the web version was sketchy enough, with weird partial selections, but the mathjax overlay makes it completely not able to do so. 3. Its a webview hackjob more

This app is hot trash. it's not uncommon for it to crash on it's own. The highlighting function is buggy and likes to unselect everything when you're trying to drag the markers for it. The zoom functionality is super slow and imprecise, but in unzoomed view there is a lot of wasted space around the text - I'm pretty sure they just took a pdf of the physical book's page instead of formatting it properly for mobile reading. The one useful feature I will say it has is that any highlights or bookmarks are carried over to other versions of the eReader (PC for example, though that has it's own whole host of problems). Though this level of funcionality really is the bare minimum since Pearson forces you to use their readers, instead of just giving us the PDF like they should for something we paid hundreds of dollars for.

This app is absolute garbage. It's slow, clunky, and just poorly designed. It came with a bunch of notes pre highlighted so I had to spend 4 hours decluttering my book. Also, Idk who designed the ui but all the answers to my textbook are on one page so I have to scroll for 5 minutes each time I want to check. But the scroll doesn't work. It's not smooth and it'll just jump back up for no reason. I'd be ashamed if my name was anywhere near Pearson's software.

2018-11-11T15:01:08.337Z
The app itself would be ok if it didn't cut off a portion of the bottom of every page. I have an etext of Sullivan's precalculus and I can't even read a portion of the text at the bottom of every page. This problem exists on both Android and iOS versions.

This is my worse experience with a ebook text. The app. suddenly stopped working. I updated it. After the update I had to redownload my etext book. The text book keeps on going back to the cover page every single time I use it. Its basically useless now. Using the etext is a waste of time on MylabMath because the link hardly works. For my previous course it did not work at all.

I refuse to download this application on my phone because it is that bad for navigation inside a text book. However I have to use this app for class. Pearson, fix chromebook support so your app isn't horrible I'm tempted to just pirate your content and use other applications. Navigation is a joke, sluggish, DEFINITELY NOT TABLET FRIENDLY. Terrible zoom function. Breaks textbook formatting to make it "readable" which just makes it functionally baaaaad.

It would be better if I could access my etext on Kindle. Plus, Pearson is really slow in loading content, and I can't even download my text because it freezes whenever it gets to the "syncing notes and bookmarks" part. Unreliable. Pearson support is awful as well - I called in the afternoon (Japan time) and the line simply wasn't answered. At least have an automatic message saying the support line availability times.

Don't use this app. IF you are lucky enough that it appears most of your book's pages are loaded, there are still numerous important pictures/graphs/asides/case studies that don't load. There are many additional problems with this abysmal app. Pearson has a monopoly on these books, so they charge you huge amounts so their shareholders can make a pretty penny off of poor, extremely in-dept students who have no choice but to take out loans to buy their for-extreme-profit books. It's disgusting.

With every update, more things break on this already clunky app. It is poor quality to begin with, but this last update, and the previous build, all I get is a blank white screen. I can't access the textbook. What's the point in purchasing if you can't use your resources? You would think a company this massive would make a learning resource intuitive, functional, and consistent. This app, and the language labs online are extremely disappointing and barely usable.

I recommend this to people who need to read on the go, the reason some people are giving this a bad review is because they aren't downloading it on a phone or tablet like it was meant for. Honestly I have no issues with it and definitely a 5 star since now I can study better and makes everything 10x easier for me.

I can't access my text book, but it loads fine in web browser. I'll click on my current text this semester but it will "download" 1% of the pdf and stop without notice or any reason why. I was hoping for anything quicker than the website. Filled out the forms called the help line, and sat waiting for a chat representative for 20 minutes each. Either no one available to help or it's closed 12pm EST. Ps the online form doesn't work in Mobile unless you select desktop site in your browser

Ridiculous. Downloaded on my mobile phone because the textbook pages don't show up in browser and I cannot in the slightest lug a whole computer to class. Told me I needed to enable download over cellular, and I did, but then it didn't download. Instead, the whole app just sat there, like it was waiting for a written invitation. And even if I did download it, doesn't it still need internet to work? Preposterous. Now I don't know how to fix my perms and I don't know how to access my classwork.

this app literally never loads when i need it to. I've left it open to wait for it to load while eating lunch, must've taken at least 30 minutes, i go back and look at my phone and it's still "fetching bookshelf." i paid money to have access to my textbooks electronically whenever i need them, and i am not getting my moneys worth, especially now since im blocked from viewing the textbooks through my mobile browser. thanks for the inconvenience.

I like the app, table of contents, working videos, photos and practice flashcards. I DO NOT like that if I'm scrolling up to go down the page the page goes in the opposite direction. So instead of going down swiping up, it goes up.. Very inconvenient and almost renders the app unusable.. Fix that and it'll be much better.

Such a frustrating app. Every time I try to open my textbooks, they load blank. If I kill the app and re-open, my textbooks have to be downloaded all over again. Considering that these stupid books and the labs cost hundreds of dollars, you'd think they'd have enough money to make an app that works. Edit: for anyone wondering if they actually improved their app: they did not. It still doesn't work

It allows me study anytime, anywhere and I don't have to carry bulky books with me. User interface has been improved significantly and the app has become faster and more stable. It allows you to read many other books for free. The only problem is that it works with latest version of Android, and you may have compatibility problem if your device is 3 or more years old.

I like the fact that I can read my textbook, but the highlights and page marking does not transfer to the laptop/desktop version. This seems a little wasteful. I also wish they would have an option to make the text audio, so you can listen to it in the car, on a jog, wherever.

This app does allow you to access your etext, but that is where it ends. Users enrolled in Mastering courses using an iPad or tablet for school use...Pearson dropped the ball. Fluidity between the etext and mastering courses do NOT exist. Toggling between the two platforms..forget it. Accessing them within a web browser is possible, but there are so many incompatibilities with iPad usage; it is rendered useless. Pearson, I am ashamed for you. Your books aren't free nor cheap.

This app is improving however zooming in and out of texts are not smooth whatsoever. Neither is scrolling through certain books. Why did you people make the app available here when you're not even able to devlop it properly. Worst ebook reader. The UI in this app is user hostile. You can't zoom in landscape. And in portrait mode when you zoom, it's not adaptive - needs us to constantly scroll left and right to complete reading a single sentence. Learn something from the Kindle app. This is easily the worst offering in this category available in the play Store.
