Really enjoyed the standard version for years, with all of its useful tools, but LAN access suddenly stopped working. Upgraded to Pro version, still no good. Installed a different app, works perfectly. This app, even in its standard version, has a great set of useful tools. For me, access to the other systems on my LAN was the most important function, so once it could no longer do that I had to uninstall.

firestick I loved this app. Then for some reason it was crashing. Every. Single. Second. I had over 50k crashes on my phone. Because of that, I could not send a single message on time, install apps correctly or they would take 30+ minutes. Also, my phone battery would drain in about 4 hours. Now that I deleted it I can go on a full charge about all day and my phone works like it did when I first purchased it.

apk mirror Even though I purchased the PRO version a long time ago, this app continues to engage in bad behavior. Most recently it hijacked my dialer and started to throw up advertisements after each phone call. Even worse though, when anyone calls, it puts a phony name on the caller ID instead of the name of the person calling me. I have no idea how this benefits anyone but they did it! DO NOT DOWNLOAD AND ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PAY FOR THIS APP!!!!!!!!!!

apk firestick ES File Explorer (free version) was my longtime favorite file management tool for Android, so i bought the pro version. It's superior in every way to every other file management tool i've used. In particular, the way it seemlessly integrates various network file technologies (smb, ftp, etc) into a file management interface makes it a no-brainer to do file management tasks that normally takes several different programs and a lot of extra steps. Must-have app if you have a file server at home.

alternative The free version stopped working when trying to access files via the LAN option, which uses an smb protocol. I am on a Windows 7 machine. I downloaded this paid version to see if I could get it to work. It turns out I can access my files if I turn file sharing password protection off. As soon as I turn it back on it cannot authenticate with the correct windows credentials. What a waste of time!

play store Overall this app is one of the best and worth paying for. That said one of the biggest annoyances I have is the player. It only plays two songs and then you need to touch the phone for it to continue playing. This doesn't appear to be an Android issue no other player does this, but the ES media player is the only option when trying to play multiple songs.

android Caveat: I am using this on a chromebook. It seems to lose the mount on the external storage media (both an SD card and a thumb drive) after being closed (ie, they do not appear in "Local"). Quite disappointing. UPDATE: While it is true that the thumb drive does not reliably show up in "Local" it can be added to "Favorites' (e.g., path = /storage/THUMBDRIVE)

apk latest version This is by far the best File Manager I had installed. You can move/rename/delete my file locally on your phone and tablet and also in the entire network at home. It gives you access to your Google drive and other cloud services, let's you transfer files from one File Explorer to another and even let's you manage your installed apps. It is definitely worth the extra bucks for the Pro version as it's gonna be the only File Manager you're gonna use. Thank you ES team for providing such an outstanding app.

apk free download I use this to manipulate files on both the internal storage and the SD card on my Android Galaxy S9+. However, the best part for me is that I can connect it to my SMB share (Windows share) and it allows me to log in with different users (sometimes i don't want write permissions) and it will allow me to manipulate files there as well. Its great for periodically moving all my photos from my phone to my shared drive in one batch.

app I use it for like EVER! It does everything i want and much more. I can copy files between NAS, cloud, phone, desktop, laptop with a single and convenient app. I can browse the file system and handle most file types I want. I use it to play videos, listen to music, set wallpapers, read pdf... either using the ES default app or an external. Granted we live in a steaming era, where we don't own the files we use... but for those I do own, I use ES File Explorer to manage!

I like this app, but since it was bought out by another company, something's up. Pro users (Who PAID for this app) get no major updates, new features or a theme rebuild. The app starts itself up and activates my app lock while I'm doing something, which is extremely annoying, and I'm sure it's wasting battery. I've switched to Solid explorer and will only return once this gets a major overhaul.

Disappointed! Pro version doesn't have the same features as the free one. . In free one SD card analyst is much better than this paid one. Free version categories the files like, large files, redundant files, duplicate files. But, Paid version doesn't show the analysis in that way. . I hope that developers will add that soon. Otherwise free version is much better. 😐

Been using this fantastically versital app for years! Actually tried others, but still feel none come close to the freedom of use I have, all around my phone & tablet. If I previously don't support a file type, I just add it. That flippin simple. I can see more & do more with this app over any other, hands down! Thanks for a great app!! Well worth the few buck for the upgrade too!

I really wanted to like it but the app appears to be outdated and no bug fixes have been published in quite some time. Onedrive from Microsoft fails to connect. Also, why is the free version updated constantly but the paid version hardly ever updated with broken features. There are more themes for the free one. It is like they just gave up on maintaining the paid version. I wanted no adds but figured the versions would be the same or maybe some more features for the paid one but not true.

I like this app and only after a little moments I got the lan setup, It's the lan I've wanted so I bought this app too, since unfortunately I bought it only after buying another app which I still can't get the lan to work. "same price". I just love this app and it's really not expensive. Get this app if you want to invest in a good file manager, this is the one to get. One with a lot of useful extras and easy to get used to. Well at least remember this is only my opinion, and I didn't tried out the other ones, only about 10 of them at most.

This is a difficult review to write. The file manager is very good. Easy to use and very intuitive. The text editor SUCKS. If you are looking for a decent text editor get the free version. Don't waste your money or time with the pro version. You edit or you don't. There are NO tools. NOT even a save button. You exit the editor and it asks do you want to save. I just lost an entire week of work because somehow it asked to save twice. I did. In between saves my ENTIRE document was erased.

JUST BUY IT NOW. JUST BUY PRO - NOW. BUY IT. BUY PRO. Yes the newer "free" versions are more annoying than the older free versions but the Pro version is low-cost. So buy Pro and get on with life. If you have any technical knowledge of computers and tablets, the Pro version is a no-brainer, and you will be very happy with the tons of features for less than 5 bucks. I would pay twice what ES is asking for Pro. This is excellent software. You will be finding more and more useful features as you go. I just set up my tablet as an FTP server and am running my backup software thru the door that ES File Explorer opened. That's just ONE of dozens of capabilities. You can access anything on your PC network via your phone or tablet. Just Buy It and give ES Global some credit for good work.

I have used this app for years on Motorola Droid Smart Phones. I recently switched to the Samsung Note 8 and found several glaring issues. One of the most annoying one comes when I try to rename files. It highlights the entire file name including the file extension if I try to paste a name from the clipboard. If I to try correct the issue the menu for copy paste is obfuscated and unreadable. Still a great file manager, just needs more testing on Samsung Note 8 and likely 9.

Im having issues connectig to my OneDrive account. It recently stopped working. I tried to email them, but the email bounced back saying "it was rejected due to spam classification". I then tried to go to their website as shown, but it appears to be down too. I had been very happy with this app, and still am for the most part, but I'm dropping my ratinf to one star due to this issue and them not being reachable to address it. Where's the customer service and support?!

this app easy to use and powerfull. But on ASUSZ_X00DD. Android 8.1 after copy multiple file to sd card (around 40 file. Size around 15-80 mb). After copy all (or some latest file) destination file has 0.0MB and unsable. I must wait for a bit (1 min to 1 hour. I don't sure) after that file size will valid and file usable. I don't sure this is Android problem or you forgot to flush file. And sometime after creatr folder is sb card. And connect phone to PC. My pc can not access folder that just created. but on next day I connect again and can access it.

There used to be a time when ES file explorer was the best file manager app. There are better apps now, go with them. ES suffers from constant and fundamentally catastrophic bugs such as not being able to actually enter passwords for protected files because the prompt cannot be clicked and closes when you touch the screen. Additionally issues such as freezing up and not supporting basic features in their text editor just make it difficult to use.

  22. Fusion Developer-avatar

The best. If you can't connect in Windows 10 be sure to enable "Private" file sharing "password protected", then right click the drive, go to properties, sharing tab, advanced button, enable sharing. Then refresh your LAN folder. yeah the folder that doesn't have the dollar sign "C", not "C$" (protected link). Directions are from memory.

Absolutely essential. However, when I create a cloud link for OneDrive, even though the link verifies and appears in my cloud window, it never actually works. All other cloud services work as they're supposed to, only OneDrive fails -- and this is true on any ES Global app with cloud support. I had to install a crappy competitor's file manager for a OneDrive link that works.

  24. Lawrence Emke-avatar

It is better than Chrome OS files app because I can navigate to a directory and create a new file in that directory. Currently Chrome OS only allows me to create new folders in the current directory. Be aware. The "Downloads directory in both ES and Files are the same directory. I don't know if ES allows access to the Linux directory. Need to check this out.

I just bought this app even though its hasn't been updated in a year to support the devs. I like last years ui and everything, but the text editor on the free version is way more functional. There's probably other things as well. Please, just update this with the new text editor it some other functions. Love your work and like the customization of this pro version

  26. Pete Lehmann-avatar

I use all the features and love how initiative it is. The only thing I could ask for that's not part of the app would be a very robust set of Tasker integrations to leverage what I feel are two of the most powerful Android Apps anyone can get. I've had to on multiple occasions actually had to download some 3rd tier file explorer app which didn't have 1/4 of the functionality ES does, but it did allow me to easily add a file movement and renaming action I needed for an automation task.

  27. Sherman Folks-avatar

not worth the money i paid for the pro version because I needed to get an old wifi password. I choose this app because what i read says root access isn't required to use root explorer. Maybe the article was mistaken. what I'm pissed about is this when I uninstalled an app, it asked if i wanted to delete all the data I said yes not knowing it was going delete my photos. i tried to use the recycling bin to recover my deleted photos none were found! What's the point in having a recycling bin?

So how come I can't do anything with my SD card or it's files all of a sudden? If I try to access my SD card, in the non-pro version, it says I must allow access and to choose my SD card... except when I hit OK, it doesn't do anything. At all. So, no SD card access. In Pro, I get the access, but I can't edit, rename, etc. it just comes up "task failed". Help support is not so helpful.

  29. Milić Ilinčić-avatar

It feels like and ad free version of an 2 year old version. I bought it thinking I would uninstall the basic version, but I need it when I want to do something more complex and use this one when I want to go addless. So basically I see there is a Premium version besides the Pro version. This isn't what I was led to believe when I bought Pro! Besides that, I am obviously using it still because I think it is the best, but because of this I have started thinking about exploring other options.

Still great. One of the easiest and most stable, reliable file managers for local file system and cloud file manipulations. A great feature is that you don't even need the native cloud service software to be installed. ES provides its own code and a cloud drive can be added painlessly in most circumstances.

  31. Nix Images-avatar

Fairly decent app. I have the paid version so I don't suffer from extensive apps. Easy access to my home network/server however transfering files from a remote server to my droid can be quite cumbersome and fails more often than not. However, I still use this app on a daily basis to clean out old files & cached data.

Absolute MUST HAVE for anyone especially those like myself who push and use any device to it's fullest potential. i can't express how much I love this app and how much i used it every day for years. I'm ashamed to say i just bought for the first time in 5 years of use as a pirated version, but now that I'm able i made sure to purchase and support the incredible developers of this program. thank you guys so much for this perfect and incredibly necessary gift you have given the world!! much love

The free version of this app was my go to file explorer for many years. I don't know what took me so long to just buy the thing, but I'm glad I did. I use it pretty much everyday and the value it provides is worth every penny of the cost. As for functionality, I have a home FreeNAS server that I built and the ES File Explorer makes it easy to transfer files to/from that server, as well as access the third party SD card I added to my phone.

it just does everything.Ive tried every file explorer out there and they all work ok but nothing has the versatility that ES has. When i get a phone or work on one, its the first thing that goes on it after connecting to network then i use ES to move files to the new one and it backs them up and it extracts apks, accesses my cloud files, plays music, video , edits texts and multifile renamer and duplicate finder... It just does it all. could use an equalizer and a way to print anything anywhere.

I used this app for years. However; since the disclosure of the app having security holes; only the free version has been fixed! I would've previously called the app 5 🌟! With the security holed & the developers ignoring it in the PRO version; it left me with little option but to uninstall & use a different app! I'd change my rating if they fix the security holes! Until then I recommend avoiding this app. I'd like a refund but it' not worth the hassle. Until the holes are closed I say 👎.

I've contacted the devs multiple times regarding the OneDrive connectivity issue, but to no apparent avail. I even chose to shell out good money to purchase the Pro version. So devs, please refund my full purchase price asap. And to potential users of this devil's products: Stay clear of these products. You're just left hanging if you encounter problems with the products. A sad ending for a once unbeatable product.

I've emailed several times and haven't gotten any replies, not even an auto reply acknowledging that they received my email. Hopefully I'll get a reply this way. I can't transfer any files to external computer or usb at all. Paid for this app and there's free apps that allow me to transfer files, I choose to go with this because it is easier to locate files and has a better layout, but it's all pointless if you can't use the app.

I loved the free version that's why I bought the pro version. However, it has more limitations and clunkier than the free one. Errors and problems when plugging in OTG USB (it doesn't support any of the formats) and copying and pasting is a pain or it doesn't let you. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP!!!

ES File explorer allows easy navigation/access to my phone's storage and external SD cards in a simple intuitive way. lts photo viewing and text editing are of frequent value. The Cleaning Utility deleted a massive amount of garbage that I was not aware of. Particularly helpful with only 16GB memory and no ability to store & run apps from the external SD card. If you have ESFE check its full capabilities- It may already do what another app that you think that you need to add on does!

Great app, have been using it for many years. I just wish there was a way to change the layout on my Note9. I don't really care for the tablet style layout and would like to be able to select the phone layout. I just don't like having that bottom bar down there on screens smaller than 8 inches.

I've used this or one similar since DOS days. The save to or whatever is sketchy, but I seem to be able to use all the features that I need. I'll fire up an app that monitors all port activity by app and see what comes up. It is practically set and forget for me.

Everyone talking about security's not a security flaw. It's a purpose built back-door. Anyone that's a long time user will remeber when ES got taken over by a different team and they added all the useless features to a file explorer to get extra permissions granted and then you would blame the background activity on those features...not the backdoor. It's been malware since the takeover.

Gives you more control over your phone by letting you access the filesystem. I bought this app on a rooted phone and it has some root explorer options and at least lets you get to the critical files that you can modify such as build.props. You can also connect to network shares. This and file x-plorer are decent. It was worth a few dollars even without a rooted phone now.

Partially an Android file structure issue but as a tool to navigate a device's file structure (think flowchart/tree structure), app's display is confusing. Author, go to a PC running win 3.1 and take note of the flowchart structure and how folders and subfolders are organized/displayed. That said, Android is far from a real OS anyhow.

Please FIX this app. ES File Explorer Pro will not move files on the external SD card. It will copy them instead of moving them. This resulted in hundreds of duplications of my music collection before I realised what it was doing. ES File Explorer Pro won't recognize a USB drive attached to my Lenovo tablet. When are you going to fix these problems??? A Very Unhappy Customer

The ES File Explorer is a fundamental necessity. I've found a workaround for ordering problem when copying MP3s to an SD-Card. The MP3 player does not sort its play order by filename, but instead plays files in the order they were written. I had meticulously added the episode date to the MP3 filenames, hoping they would be copied in that order, but when copping a directory of files, they are copied out of order. My fix is to not copy by directory, but by selecting all the files and copying.

Awesome! Traditional androids come with a superb file manager until file-go came in and repoaced them. I bought a Nokia Android which has the google file-go but i never liked it. I bought this app especially for the file transfer function. Transferring between 2 tablets results in failure to connect and ends with "sender disconnected". Other people have experienced this problem as well. I've asked for my money back.

I don't understand why you people have limited features compare to free version. It doesn't seem to have duplicate finding. And file type analysis like video , music etc, Which is there in free version. If it is there please help me find it, i'll revert back review. Not happy with the purchase because of this.

I have owned es pro for years but have really become concerned about the superfulous permissions they are requiring. I thought about it when they required reading the new privacy terms to continue using the app. And read them.. it's not worth my security to keep this app until permissions are clamped down. And if they can't be, tighten the privacy policy that currently discloses you're using an app we paid for with an expectation of a level of trust in our data with this app... And it seems you're monetizing it to who knows what end.. possibly malicious. I notice es pro opens links by default..why?

Able to perform features stated well. UI is clean and simple to navigate. 1 of the must have app within a phone for management of your phone if you do not have other file manager. Been around for a long time, is reputable and update application every now and then. 5 stars.

I just spent $3.24 to buy this app and it's broken... I go to "System Manager" option, it comes up with an error message saying, "Cannot find module: ES Task Manager" and asks me if I want to find and install it. I tap YES It then goes to Google Play and says "Item NOT FOUND" I feel so ripped off... Do NOT waste money buying this piece of junk app. It is totally worthless, a total rip off. The people leaving good reviews and claiming "this app does everything I need it to do" and stuff like that, well, they must be paid shills or something because this app does NOT work, it is JUNK.

Disappointed after paying for this, that it would not copy files from installed sd card formatted as portable storage to an otg connected hard disk drive. With copy selected your app told me that only Fat 32 and NTFS is currently supported, but my Moto G5 phone had just reformatted this drive, i believe as Fat 32, and although your app was one of many i tried that would not do this, the MiX Explorer app did this straight away. Bought the pro version as the free one was o.k. with usb f/drives.

its a very good file manager but i encountered my 1st need for another file manager because es explorer pro does not support exfat via OTG which is really important to me. By now it is my opinion that it should be supported but it isn't. we now have devices with 256gb and more of storage so having the 4gb files size limitation is mostly hindering.

Item is stuffy - by means of that theirs loads of other things you can do with this app, like: a quick clean, open zips, etc. As it stands generally it does what it's meant to do, been on a older phone you can see the ratings been high. I have two problems: one been cloud can over syncs sometimes stalling, and two been the download manager is flimsy - other then that a great app, you get your monies worth.

I use the pro version of this app for years. It does everything what a File manager is supposed to do. Just add support for reading exFAT format. From Automated protocols to Zip functions & everything in between! Es File Explorer Pro has been my default file control center on Android since day 1. Edit: october 2018 i am having issues playing videos through LAN (watching videos on a pc thru my tablet). I used a different file explorer app and the videos play fine using both mx player and VLC. So the conflict is with ES. Please fix as i prefer ES. Easy to use, organize, reading customizations, and supports lots of formats. Easy to import files and capable of accessing files on external SD cards.

Please fix so I can use ES player as my default player and I'll change it from three to five stars!

Generally good, useful and functional. The biggest problem is that files deleted from my SD card do not go into the Recycle Bin. They just seem to vanish. Files deleted from my phone do go into the Recycle Bin. I sent a request to ES but never received a reply.

Very useful and stable app. Reliable access to all files stored in device memory and SD card. I like the cleanup tool which I used often with an older phone that had limited storage space. I can't recall this app ever crashing or failing to do what I needed.

  67. Luuta-avatar

Poor development. No update since last Summer, which is poor coming from an app that promises to be up to date. What worries me is that you're allowing a potentially insecure app access to your entire IT system. I would expect some security fixes and bug fixes at least every other month to keep up with the bad players.

this app over night has hijacked all my settings and a simple download / play talk show function that I NEVER USE THIS PROGRAM TO DO forced itself as the downloader and the player, so now I want to skip a part of the show but the player has a pretty and nonfunctional split screen and I cant make the trackbar big enough to use. the free es file explorer was ok but the paid one has to be TRASHED now, I don't know if the free one will now have the same problem if I go back to it. I probably have to go get my radio show all over again. THIS is the reason why I HATE android, stuff works fine, then it doesn't, then you can't have your app pop up and work because ANOTHER app has decided to prevent it.

The Best In The File Manager Category! If you haven't tried it - try it. If you tried it in the past but it didn't cover what you needed - review the new features and try it again, it gets better every year. Simply the best file manager there is. Nothing else even comes close to this one. Just one thing to the developers: can we have an option in settings to enable the back button to just go up a directory instead of whatever the last entry in history is? So if I was in /sdcard, then jumped to /system/media, pressing the back button goes to /system, not /sdcard. Thank you for this awesome file manager!

Please give us more attention. i know that you are getting more money from ads and (unlock features by installing other apps) from the free Version but we also paid money for the PRO version.

Decent, I had some play credits to burn. The wallpaper is annoying, I cant seem to figure how to get rid of it and sftp is not working with newer ciphers on the server defined. JuiceSSH works fine using the same keypair.

Clean operations, not a fully coherent UI (yet) , but jlas legs for at least~5 be better and the whole app demonstrates that it is intuitive with room to explore and the team to push it into a 1 stop app for beginners and wassahackers? Good job!

After I installed it to a Pocophone (Android 9) everytime I try to rename a file I take an error message "Task Failed". It happens only to the external microSD card. Before this phone I had the Redmi Note 5 ( Android 8.1) that worked fine. Any solution?

Pretty full featured file manager app, but 2 big features it's missing are the ability to select and extract multiple archives at once and the ability to select multiple files and make shortcuts for each in a folder on home screen.
