  1. Jefferson Real-avatar

Developer responded to and fixed an account configuration issue in about 60 seconds. Now everything is working perfectly. Amazingly fast and attentive chat support, top marks for customer service - also I'm on a free account I might add! Love the app, all my transactions are automatically organised into easy to process categories and it gives me insight into my areas of overspending I'd otherwise not be conscious of.

  2. Raghav Dua-avatar

Honestly such a great app. It look so nice and has so many features. I used to use Mint before and coming to this app really helped as I have several accounts across different banks this app lets me keep track of them all. The subscription tracking feature is also really amazing!!

  3. Judith Spangenberg-avatar

    Judith Spangenberg

Been using the free version first, am now on the paid for. It's straight forward to set up, and I find the insights into where your money goes very insightful. Also used the in-app support for the first time today, my issue was swiftly resolved. Thanks Emma team 😊

  4. Marcin Lament-avatar

I'm a premium user and this app helps me a lot with tracking my finances. However, I'm so fed up with the notifications. I don't want to turn them off as I like to be notified when something happens to my accounts but I just can't stand the tone and language used in these messages - full of silly emojis and useless meanings. If this doesn't change, I will need to start looking for an alternative service.

  5. Brian Hughes-avatar

UI is a little cluttered and not super intuitive. For example "feed" tab doesn't really grow like a feed, it appears to be more of a dashboard and some tools are only accessible from that dashboard. It would be nice if the dashboard/feed/landing screen could be customized for what you want to see most in a glance and then all the features were still available from elsewhere in the app when you need to dive deep. A clearer privacy policy would go a long way to building my trust. The wording around sharing information with third parties could be easily interpreted in a multiple ways, but the FAQ page does try to be a little more explicit at least. The FAQ is decent but some longer tutorials (possibly even video/animation format) of how a typical user might use the app during a week/month might help explain the logic in the UI layout and help users (including myself) see the value in this app. They seem to be working very hard with regular updates, so that gets kudos.

  6. Toni Parfitt-avatar

I've been using Emma for a little over a month now and I can honestly say it's been a game changer for me. I've always found managing my money really time consuming and boring so avoided. Now all my bank accounts are in one place. I had the apps for each bank separately so it was so quick to get them all linked to the app. I now have one place to check in on all my purchases, little prompts to steer me in the right direction, and clear budgets that I can (try to) keep on top of. Thanks Emma!

  7. Ethan Hatch-avatar

This is perfect for anyone who wishes to keep track of saving accounts, credit card accounts and Stocks and shares! Slightly frustrating Aqua isn't supported yet but aside form this, I use this app every month to keep on top of my spending and saving.

  8. Vasarė Vasara-avatar

I love this app. Has great analysing tools, data visualisation is really helpful. Scramble mode is very clever as well (to show people the app without them seeing the exact numbers in your account). One thing though, every time I launch the app it takes a few seconds to properly launch. So let's say I'm imputing the passcode, the pascode is being imputed with a delay. Usually it's sorts itself out quit fast after that. But it would be great if that delay is no more. 😄

  9. Dylan Kirkby-avatar

So far, this app has been amazing! Refreshingly well -designed and reliable coming from mint. The app and features have worked really well! I've had a lot of issues with the data integrations unfortunately, Rogers bank was failing for ages and now isn't available, discover isn't available at all, and questrade needs me to re-login every time.

  10. Nikolaos - Evangelos Karantanis-avatar

    Nikolaos - Evangelos Karantanis

Best budgeting app I have used overall. Some things keeping me from 5 stars: Permanent box on switching energy, etc. even after going for the paid version; lack of predicted balance on main page and average daily spending (a competitor has this and I found it very useful); vibrant colours a bit much for me and I find that they distract me. Otherwise, a solid and feature rich app.

  11. Lucas Buffington-avatar

    Lucas Buffington

Wow! I'm new to budgeting since I recently turned 18 and now have my own accounts for checking, credit, and investing. I've been trying all sorts of apps, but now I think I've found the best app. The app is simple, beautiful, and useful; I love the ability to see how much you've spent at certain stores over time, to see how much I waste! The app is organized and easy to navigate, and the important information is easy to see. Only downside is I couldn't find a way to see credit score in the app.

  12. Eze Ogueri-avatar

Very fluid and user friendly. I like that it let's you use tags in addition to categories and can do batch categorization. It would be a welcome addition of the tags could also show in the registers underneath each item description this way it is obvious that a tag has been assigned to that item.

  13. elliott-avatar

Nice looking ui, terrible user experience. There are so many ads/partnerships in this app disguised as 'money saving' even on the paid version. LET ME HIDE THEM. Why is the 'money saving' section which is a partnership with money super market, PensionBee and Nutmeg located before all the useful information such as my 'what did I spend' section and the 'my subscriptions' section. Why do you force your paying users who don't want to switch providers to scroll past this. £9 a month to see ads.

  14. Jen George-avatar

It really has helped me to see my spending and enable me to save. I really love the app. I upgraded to premium, however honestly it hasn't made that much of a difference. The free version is just as good!

  15. Sunita Soundur-avatar

I'm new to Emma, and still working my way round but so far so good. As a renter, sometimes housemates will pay me back for bills paid. Therefore I'm wondering if there is a clear way to tell the app that although (example only) £80 has come out of my account, I have only spent £20 on a bill... and housemates paying me back is for this bill?

  16. Ashley Porter-avatar

Love it! Very smooth, really accessible. Definitely worth getting! It tells you things like how much you've spent at a certain shop "in the last month/6 months/all time" - wow its scary, and you need to see it!

  17. t vanduijv-avatar

Excellent, still don't understand the kiddy emoticon scheme but as a budget app, it works supremely well, especially with pro package. Had a few issues over the past year with accounts sometimes not being able to get reconnected but seemed to have sorted it self out.

  18. Lisa Ewings-avatar

This is a great app. The only reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is because you can only set monthly budgets but some expenses are annual, quarterly or bi monthly so this would be a useful feature to add.

  19. Tracey Crabtree-avatar

    Tracey Crabtree

Love this app. In terrible with money but this gives me a daily update of my balance and breakdown of what I've spent and what bills are due to go out. Since using the app I've managed to save money which I haven't been able to do before

  20. Emma Noma-avatar

Having used the Emma app for over a year now, I truly love it. Really helped me get my finances back on track and be more on top of my spending. Especially love the quiz feature - hoping I'll eventually win the prize one of these days 😝

  21. Jade Evans-avatar

Amazing app that helps you keep track of your spendings and savings each month! Me and my partner have separate accounts but share money, this app helps us work out what we are saving together.

  22. Camilla C-avatar

Well made and easy to use app that allows me to have an overview of all my bank accounts and investments in one app. Budgeting feature helps me categorise my spending.

  23. Wale Animashaun-avatar

    Wale Animashaun

This is by far the MOST useful financial management app I've ever come across. You can tell a lot of thought went into this. Although the UI could use a little less colors.

  24. Alok N Krishnan-avatar

    Alok N Krishnan

Simple and effective interface. Lots of connections. It just works! The alerts and reports are well presented and useful.

  25. Daniel Wilkinson-avatar

    Daniel Wilkinson

Great app, use it to keep track of multiple accounts. Also like the budgeting tracking and the spending insights.

  26. Noah Nazim-avatar

A very clean, intuitive UI design complimented by friendly, well-written text that gently calls my attention and never makes me feel like it's wasting my time. Overall I think of this app as a public good -- a tool for anyone looking to keep their finances in check and budget in a way that feels sensible, consistent and (dare I say) fun.

  27. Siân Powell-avatar

Really good app to help you keep abreast of personal finance. Has helped me spot where I can save money too.

  28. Mhairi Shields-avatar

Overall a good app. However, I've paid for the Emma Pro subscription and the main issues I've found are that it doesn't recognise the majority of ebay payments and even after you manually amend them to show they are for ebay they still aren't included in my stats. Also find that even though I've update the names of my regular payments it doesn't continue using the amended names the following month. This means I'm spending a lot of time each month amending my regular payment information.

  29. Chris Dock-avatar

Love it, seems to be more reliable than mint. That said, a widget or two would be nice!

  30. Griffin Malone-avatar

God I love this app. Looked for so many account overview apps that were free and good and it was so difficult! They all focused on budgeting and I couldn't get a grasp on my accounts. Finally used clarity but it was so basic and stopped working a few weeks ago. Emma blows mint and clarity out of the water. Helpful, clear, editable, efficient, and way smarter than any other app I've used. Search and category functions need improving. Can't seem to just search transactions or view categories easi

  31. Salman Khan-avatar

Great for budgeting, however the spending reports are silly and need to be improved and the quizzes are too hard😅

  32. Kourtney Fiorucci-avatar

    Kourtney Fiorucci

It is an OK app. It is manageable and does what it says. It however, just doesn't budget quite like I was envisioning. Maybe over time it will get some adjustments that make it less of a having to make adjustments to categories, etc. And more of a just knows how you spend money by doing more analysis of your purchases and such. Maybe it can make suggestions on which bills to pay now in order to save money or some other types of adjustments to your habits etc.

  33. Ndubuisi Kejeh-avatar

I was using another budget app before, but was frustrated when I lost the ability to connect my AMEX card and savings account. Yes it's great that I can track AMEX in Emma, but I really like the app for the ability to create manual accounts if there's something they don't allow you to connect (like a trading account). It also has a clearer and easier user experience!

  34. Eliezer Tabiri-avatar

I enjoy using Emma. It is certainly helpful with organising my finances and budgeting. I like the UI. Bright colours makes the boring task of money management much more fun. The app gives you weekly insights that help you to track your spending and identify areas to cut back. I honestly didn't notice how much I spend so soon after payday until this app started showing me. It has definitely helped me to tighten the purse strings and save more. There are many other cool features in the app!

  35. Pedro Penacho-avatar

Very good app, does I really good job at keeping track of my expenses. However, I would like to see more improvements in the analytics part, not many graph options. I've used worst app that shown a percentage of the total expenses in each category, pie graph for example, this gives the user a better insight of where his/her money was being spent, I haven't seen this in this app yet. Also I possible would like to see the option to connect to trading 212 account to see my investments.

  36. Maria Rafailova-avatar

    Maria Rafailova

I have been using Emma for a few months now and absolutely loving it! It's just a simple and easy way of keeping track of your spending. I recently got the Premium account but I think the free one does a great job as well. One thing I would love to see is a way of automatically splitting transactions from a specific account. I'm using a joint bank account for bills, rent etc. so I have to manually split all transactions from that card to see just my half of these payments in my budgets.

  37. Zoe Wheeler-avatar

Have been using Emma for a few months now and it's definitely helped with budgeting.

  38. Carlos Dixon-avatar

After trying an exhausting number of budgeting app, both paid and free, I found Emma to best fit my budgeting needs. Most apps have multiple issues that make the experience less than favorable. With Emma, even though it's a bit pricey, it performs better than the rest I've tried. I do wish there were more graphs and exportable reports. Otherwise its great for me...

  39. Andrew Arnold-avatar

Seems very good at first use: can use it to budget as a couple, auto download different account info

  40. Nick Lettin-avatar

Emma is a nice app to manage all things banking provided you are prepared to pay the £5.99/month subscription fee after the 7 day trial period, however, as someone who is on a *very* low fixed income this is expensive, I realise the devs need to finance this project somehow but in all honesty I cannot justify the expense on my miserable income, it's just too much, if all I'm paying for is the convenience of linking to my bank account then I'm going to have to look elsewhere or abandon the idea.

  41. Henry Guerrero-avatar

Love this app it's beautiful, simple, and clean. I must have tried every single money/budgeting app in the Play store and this one while missing credit score and networth checks off everything I wanted in an app like this. The updates are fast. Daily and weekly alerts. Keep up the great work!

  42. Rob Mccormack-avatar

Decent app but the graphs are hugely inaccurate and very annoying. The peaks and troughs are in completely wrong places. Maybe you could have a data point for each day instead of the average type of graph you are doing at the minute? Also, my numbers keep on doubling for some reason. Some times it says my savings accounts are double, sometimes it says the amount I have spent in my budget has doubled e.g. I'm -200 instead of like 400 up.

  43. claire feeney-avatar

Good but needs more functionality. Ideally would be great to have numbers in graphs so you can see what you're looking at better, line graphs of spend split out by day and by category, general daily spend chart so you can see each day how much you spent over the month, and drill downs from that. Total spend per week as a scorecard might be nice. Any separation on charts for when you are above 0 or below 0 would also help to see when you're in the red.

  44. Prince Harshan-avatar

Coming from Mint. I'm loving the fun way to get me more involved with budgeting and goal tracking. I would love it if the accounts refreshed more instantaneously. Mint did that. Also, please add the ability to add WealthSimple Trade to my investment accounts. Nobody provides that today and I was hoping you guys did. Otherwise, really loving the app!

  45. Dean Gray-avatar

Superb app! Really helps to see where money goes and what's left each month

  46. Wellwin John-avatar

I see a good potential to be the top budgeting app. Few things that I saw weird - multiple subscription entries for same merchant, the search function is very basic - would love to see filters and different options to do an advanced search. Although the design is beautifully smooth, it can be tonned down to soothe the eyes. The budgeting feature looks promising and works well with me and the transaction updates are also spot on! Cheers!

  47. James Steele-avatar

Really great budgeting app, but it really is missing the ability to handle budgeting beyond a monthly interval (e.g. I pay some bills quarterly, so I would like to budget monthly a contribution that builds up over the 3 months before the actual bill). I would rate 5 stars if that feature was implemented.

  48. Nat Baulch-Jones-avatar

    Nat Baulch-Jones

    - Lacking ability to add Debenhams cards - No "All" list of transactions for each month, you can only view "Merchants" and "Categories" - If a merchant is listed incorrectly and has no Twitter handle you can't fix it. Even then, it doesn't immediately update - Visual bug in the "Transactions" window, you can still see the unsearched list peeking out / It would be nice to have a more powerful search - The "Savings Checklist" on the home screen is annoying - Nutmeg investment graph is inaccurate

  49. Shamraiz gul-avatar

Been using this for some time now. Love it! Insights are concise when you need to glance at your financials and detailed if you want it to. Unlike other budgeting apps this works for me because its not over burdening and keeps me informed.

  50. Oliver Baxter-avatar

Great app, has helped me keep track of all my finances.

  51. Matt Swan-avatar

Emma is the first finance app that I've used that had anything like Committed Spending, and it's exactly what I've been looking for. At the month start, I know what things I will need to pay, as well as what I expect in income. My day-to-day spending is then very well informed and I make better decisions even when I feel like I have money to blow, because I can see that money is committed to something else that just hasn't been due yet.

  52. Richard Moss-avatar

Brilliant for managing day to day finances. The app uses my accounts to give me an accurate measure of my spending patterns, how much, where, how often etc. Budgeting allows me to set budgets for different streams and alerts when I'm about to go over. Great app, would recommend.

  53. Lana Ruzin-avatar

Extremely happy with this app. Syncing with bank is seamless. I love how it shows you how much is left in each category for the month. I didn't mind paying for a year subscription to support the app.

  54. Charleen Nicholson-avatar

    Charleen Nicholson

Literally the easiest way to budget Super intuitive, easy to access even lesser known it smaller companies. Still learning how to use, so far so good, will update after a couple months of budgeting, I'm effing terrible at money and have to get better so I tried this app based on the reviews.

  55. Francita Farrell-avatar

    Francita Farrell

had this app a few weeks now....so far so good. Always being told off for over spending😂😂 Looking forward to using this app more.

  56. Delia Currey-avatar

Really enjoy using Emma tells you how much you are spending and tells you if are overspending

  57. Gareth Dickson-avatar

Incredibly useful tool. Simplifies saving and some great perks/rewards.

  58. Claire W-avatar

I have tried a few and this one is the best I've seen. Easy to understand and I really like the monthly interface that clearly details the budgets for each category. Really like the option to exclude transactions. Fab app!

  59. Norbert Jakab-avatar

Almost impressed...except all transactions appear a day behind than actually took place. Not good.

  60. Ramesh Indran-avatar

Really good app. Was using Yolt before, have to say this is better (eg morning notifications, can link to pensionBee, the AI seems better at recognise subscriptions). Lacking to connections to savings banks like Marcus, Sainsbury's. But still a very good app.

  61. Julian Brookes-avatar

Better than Yolt. This is the best budgeting app that connects to your bank and credit card accounts. It automatically downloads your transactions and categorises them, so you can see what you're spending from all you accounts.

  62. Eric Smith-avatar

Simple App, links most bank and credit accounts, good budgeting tool

  63. Robert Hepworth-avatar

    Robert Hepworth

Have three bank account in one app with daily Updates, showing details of transactions, amount, which banks, type of spends, ie transport, shopping, supermarkets , it really does show spending habits, have set the budgets . On pro version can down excel spreadsheet which you add more information to.

  64. Philip Reed-avatar

Great app. Cant open after most recent update though. Trying to debug, I'm sure its temporary. Reinstall doesn't fix. :( Only seems to be an issue on wifi. Suspect some DNS is being blocked on my router. api2.branch.io was the issue. Whitelisting that allowed the app to work again.

  65. Damir Dulic-avatar

Budgeting is still weak, it needs to be improved. No automatic detection of income, sorting the budget takes a while due to poor UI, other then that the app is amazing, but having weak budgeting in a budget app gives it 3 stars.

  66. John Woodburn-avatar

Easy to download and link bank accounts. Just need to see if this what I need to keep on budget, as I find First Direct aren't up to date with my money as I want.

  67. Aria G. Rivers-avatar

I like colorful, organized and intuitive apps, specifically when numbers are the essence, and Emma reunite exactly that for a fair price. I'm very comfortable to work my budget and the notifications are informative in a fun way.

  68. Alessandro Grunwald-avatar

    Alessandro Grunwald

Why doesn't the "total budget" reflect the sum of all the budget categories kne sets?? Other than that, very good app. Update: got clarification on this from their support team via email. Updated to 5 stars :)

  69. Lynette Walker-avatar

Emma does a great job helping me track my spending and regular bills. It is very easy to maneuver around and set my budgets. I definitely would recommend this app!

  70. Kourtney Thomas-avatar

    Kourtney Thomas

As a young mum this app has helped me manage my spending and helped my budget in a much easier way unlike other apps that can come across confusing, this app is easy and simple to use and has worked wonders for myself.

Excellent app. Bringing together info on my Canadian and UK accounts, all into one place. Top notch customer service. I've used a few budgeting apps, and this is by far the best.

Great app. I'd like to use Split transaction and add category, but can't justify the cost. Should be £1-£2 a month max. Or would be happy for there to be a paid version.

Pretty good. Aesthetic is great, organized well. Wish you could make zero-based budget, type in amounts instead of use +/-, and had a desktop version. Great features on free and reasonable for premium.

A great app. It's made budgeting something I so, rather than try for a month and give up. One thing I would like is to be able to set my budget for next month before I'm in that month.

Beautiful UI, helped me get my budget together when I was freaking out about moving out, and shows you all the numbers. The support is pretty great too. I wonder how they're making money on this..

Lots of good functionality for tracking spending but no way to see how you did compared to your budget in previous months and every time I need to renew my Open Banking connection it duplicates my credit card and I have to contact support to get it fixed

  77. Jayne Cope-avatar

Just a really handy app with daily notifications to say how much money you have in total. Not sure I'm using it to it's full advantage but thoroughly enjoying its simplicity and useful info. I reccomend it highly 🙂

Of all the personal finance apps I've downloaded Emma actually let's you see Analytics of how much you have spent and u can adjust your budgeting. However if you change a category or add a category that would be great.

Really nice app but for whatever reason it likes to randomly launch sometimes, which is always concerning when you navigate to a webpage and a banking app is launched.

Very impressed, easy to use and already saved us money

Helped me easily track and manage spending across multiple accounts. Getting our of debt and starting to save. Slight gamification and use of hashtags to group transactions for reporting. Very easy to use.

Has really helped with becoming more mindful of my finances.

  83. Angela Lawson-avatar

Love this app. It's great for tracking all my spending and budgets the more I spend time in the app the less I am spending online shopping and the more I know about what I actually spend! Win win.

  84. Alicia Ellis-avatar

I love the design, but this app won't help me unless I can add all my accounts. If the a count will not sync with the app, I should at least be able to add it manually.

  85. Russell Allen-avatar

Easy to set up. Takes more time to learn how to use. But this isn't surprising because if I need a banking app it rather suggests that I find this stuff difficult anyway.

  86. Joao Sabino-avatar

Not to shabby! Good app to keep you on track. There is room to improve. But then again so is there room for the banks to improve as well... Overall good app.

  87. KDUB SHREDDING-avatar

It's been really great to keep on track with money going in and out. It's free to hook up your accounts which is bonus. Plus no adds is awesome. Thanks Emma!

Problem fixed soon after in the next update. Love the app but can't access after the last update. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing working. Hopefully fixed soon!

Easy to use. Very accurate and up to date with figures. I love it. Makes e realise how much money I waste so I can sort my finances out.

Love the features and interface! Instantly got pro. 4 stars because I miss one feature, please add an option to see yearly analytics as well.

No way to manually add savings. My isa account can't be linked so that's missing from my profile. Huge issues trying to log in to my online banking when linking second current account. A shame.

Great app for me. I've got ADHD and it leads to a chaotic life of missed admin, thisbjas really helped. I dont need the quizzes or add ons but the format and layout is great otherwise.

  93. Arnold-avatar

So close to great but currently not there yet. Why no customised graphs or time periods over which to analyse? Forcing everything into months is only for the most simple of finance situations.

  94. Thomas Verbist-avatar

I've used several budget apps. This one is by far the most complete and easy-to-use. One big downside one needs to pay to fully benefit from its power.

  95. Jason Williams-avatar

Makes life so much easier. Nice easy interface and can adapt to your own spending habits. Nice little app

  96. Stephen Monk-avatar

User friendly and v useful app. Simple to use and provides insights into spending and creation of budgets to help keep you on track.

I love this app! It makes budgeting and managing your money super easy. Highly recommend if, like me, you're not very good at budgeting 😅

  98. Ashley heffner-avatar

Best app ive ever used for money management but, it likes to disconnect two of my accounts of the daily so it's just frustrating to reconnect them everytime I log in.

This is a very good budgeting app. I like how it categorizes almost all my purchases correctly and excludes cc payments and transfers from my income for that month.

One of my fave budgeting apps to use, very informative, provides accurate and up to date information... Even warns you when you may go into your overdraft
