The CURT Echo™ (#51180) is a Bluetooth-enabled, mobile brake control that allows you to control and monitor the activity of your trailer brakes using your smartphone and this downloadable app. The device simply plugs in between the vehicle-trailer 7-way wiring connection and uses Bluetooth to sync with your phone. Download the Smart Control app to set up your smartphone as the trailer brake control interface for the CURT Echo™. With it you can adjust maximum braking power and sensitivity while towing. It also shows diagnostic information like overload conditions and trailer-disconnect errors. For added control and safety while towing, the Smart Control app provides a button to manually override braking and activate the trailer brakes whenever necessary. With the compact design and plug-and-play installation of the CURT Echo™, it is a highly portable brake control. It is designed to be easily transferred from one vehicle-trailer combination to another. As such, the app allows you to store up to five user profiles, each with its own personalized settings. The Smart Control app does not need to be open for the CURT Echo™ mobile brake control to function normally. The app can be closed, and the Echo™ will use the previously selected profile settings to determine maximum braking and brake aggressiveness.

Unfortunately this app crashes my phone all the time. Can't even start it... immediately getting "System UI has stopped" error followed by screen flashing on and off and phone rendered unusable, only cycle power can bring phone back to life. I even tried to reset my phone back to factory settings and even after that this app still crashing my phone. This app is useless... and unfortunately it makes brake controller useless too...

I just bought a 2019 ram 1500 had the 7 connector from factory, but no brake controller installed. Literally just plugged and played. Worked like a charm. Never lost signal. Would recommend for any truck that had the wires already installed, but no brake controller.

This app is worse than garbage. I dont know how you could screw up a simple pairing and control app, but yall managed to screw up royally. The connection to the unit is constantly breaking, trying to re-pair the bluetooth connection doesnt work. My phone connects to the unit via bluetooth just fine, but the app does not recognize it. Multiple times i've had to re download this app to get the functionality to work. Even then it worked once for five minutes and it no longer works. Trash.

I have been using this for 8 months worked well on my android one plus 6T. I updated the software. It worked till I stop at a gas station. After I started the car Echo could not find the controller. I tried a few things nothing worked. After reaching my destination I wrote and called Curtis support. Eventually was told it want work with one plus 6T. I asked if I can get the older software and the answer was no you will need a different phone.

Doesn't find device. Phone bluetooth finds the controller just fine. It's the app that doesn't. It worked for a while and then it was great. Not sure what changed. Software update? Phone is moto stylus g. Runs Android 10.

Love this brake controller as I can set for any kind of weather and road conditions. If I lose wifi connection for whatever reason. It automatically defaults to the very last setting. It has multiple profiles I set up for whether I'm towing with my truck or class A RV. So I always have breaks. Pricey but highly recommend 👌

this app is trash. for a $250 brake controller you would think the app that goes with it would be a little more solid and trustworthy. I would return this whole unit if I could.

Used on my 1995 P38 Range Rover with my 2016 Jayco travel trailer. Worked fine then. Now using it with my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado with the same 2016 Jayco, and again, works fine. Little connectivity issues here and there, but still a great product.

This worked fine last year, why did you try to fix something that wasn't broken? Now it doesn't work, I can't pair it with my phone. Tell me Echo, what are you going to do about? Let everyone know what you're going to do.
