I love the use of pictures to help remember stuff as it gives a practocal learning. I am yet to see how they reinforce the learning of writing with hebrew characters but great app for beginner's grammar as of yet.

Simple to use, but the timer is misbehaving lately. It is kinda running at double speed, so i am loosing my minutes.

Great app for vocabulary. Just wish it included exercises with complete sentences.

  4. Abdullatif AlYafei-avatar

It was wonderful and fun the way of this app using, I have noticed that alot of words are easy to learn and remember it, also the name of things are much closer to Arabic language which is making it easy to learn and remember too. I enjoy this learning app and I will definitely continue learning. I wish there is more options in free trial so I can start from the basic, such as Hebrew letters and pronounsing.

  5. Kate Bundy-avatar

I've tried several language apps. Most throw you into the language too quickly - expecting you to know a foundation even if you select that you are a beginner. Drops allows you to begin a new language completely & learn as a child would. It allows you to be a living dictionary. This is exactly how a child learns, & it is the most effective way to immerse yourself in a language in the first steps in learning. The pronunciation is correct on Drops, whereas on others, it is not. I give Drops 5☆'s!

I have to say it's the best thing I've gotten for Hebrew so far ive only had it for a little bit<333 but I already liked it very much There is something I would like to ask I guess? I'm non-binary and I use they/them pronounse and while it is fairly recent there is non-binary Hebrew, drops, it would mean a lot to me and the other non-binary people who use this app if you could add some sort of non-binary option. We get recognized so little, it is hard to not even be recognized others speaking,

As a beginner, I find the lessons easy to comprehend and use. It starts with the basic words we use everyday and advances at the rate you're comfortable with.(IMO) I have only just begun the program, so I will very likely update this review at a later date. But so far, a solid 5 out of 5 stars.

This app is really good I love it! I learn so easily! A suggestion : I'm learning Hebrew, I wish I could hide the prononciation of the words, it's too easy. I hope you gonna see my idea!

  22. Sarah Bloxham-avatar

Great app for learning! I love the feature that allows you to miss a day. I am averaging 6 days a week or more so far - the safety net makes me feel more secure and doesn't pressure me to exclude other important things in my life just to practice my language hobby. I feel that the developers realize that this app's place is probably not someone's top 5 most used apps, and they built the app on that knowledge. Really works well and so well thought-out. I highly enjoy and recommend Drops!

  23. Rana Moore-avatar

It's all new!! The app has greatly improved and it was already perfect! She repeats the words slower a the second time when on the review page. The look and feel is streamlined and more pleasant. Drops refreshed the course for me also remembered where I was even though I removed it from my phone. Good job. Best language app for Hebrew so far. I will consider going premium for sure

  24. James Lipscombe-avatar

I love this app, it is great for learning everyday vocab. It would be good to have more sentences to show how to use the learned words in context though. I like that I can switch off the Romanized text (I'm learning Hebrew) as I personally find it a distraction, most other apps that I've tried seem to show it all the time.

  25. Dave Maini-avatar

I'm a complete novice at this language and a total beginner. This App is so good it makes me want to stick with it learning everyday. Hopefully one day I'll be able to speak and hold a conversation.

  26. Isgard Klein-avatar

    Isgard Klein

I like the app and it's good to practice my hebrew but if I learn a new verb, there is never a notification about the gender. Usally the verb is in the I-form but in hebrew it depends on your gender wich form you choose. So if I learn with the app, there is no notification about the form. Therefore I have no idea if it's right for me to say that or if I accidentally learn the male-single form instead of the women-single form .

  27. Angela Conley-avatar

    Angela Conley

Said it would teach you the alphabet -- doesn't. Also moves too quickly to let you focus on reading the word. Might be ok just for learning to speak conversationally.

I would like to purchase this app to get rid of the ads, it would be worth the price it's a great learning tool. I am extremely forgetful, and it's hard for me to retain things but this app makes it a whole lot easier to retain what you are learning. Anyone who doesn't like this app or doesn't give it a good rating is just being gay

after about an hour in or so, i like it. it's like a fun little game so far. it really tries to get the information committed to your mind by repeating what you've learned in different contexts, forcing you to rely on deduction for what you don't remember, then eventually removing the opportunity for deduction, forcing you to rely on memory alone. too soon to really say, but right now, if i stick with it, i can't see me not knowing Hebrew. at least I'll have a very strong foundation to build on

I love this app. i have tried to learn Hebrew a few times and found it very difficult to remember the words but since i started using this app it has made it a lot easier. The way that the words are repeated over drills it better into my head. I love the way that it has sound and spelling. i dont find learning boring anymore and the app nudges me to stick at it every day. I have been using this for around 2 months and am very impressed by how many new words I am able to remember

It's an interesting concept so far. I've only tried the beginner level, but the 5-minute approach with mostly icons is a fresh way of looking at language learning. Time will tell if it actually sticks. I also would like to see if it gets more advanced. Also I offer one suggestion for the Developers: $160 for the premium version is too steep for someone who is only interested in one of the languages. I would like the option to buy only a specific language at a reduced price.

  56. Kelly Young-avatar

    Kelly Young

Excellent for Vocab Building! I have used every kind of learning aid for languages over many years, and this is my favorite. It's not perfect -- it won't teach grammar -- but it's excellent at teaching words. The concept of one or two short sessions each day is painless and highly effective. I have great difficulty sticking to anything long enough to see real benefit, but this makes it fun and easy. I'm amazed how much I've learned! I bought the pro version, but even the free version is great!

  57. Spenser Taub-avatar

    Spenser Taub

Turned off the transliterations and it completely changed the level intensity. This is exactly what I needed. Kind of wish the short vowels (nikkud) were there on the Hebrew version (guessing they don't have them for the Arabic version either). Maybe this is an option to turn on /off as well that I missed? But the intensity is def maxed without the vowels. Lastly, these guys give quick responses / feed back on reviews, which is awesome. Very impressed with this app in only a couple days of using. Absolutley love the layout. I really, really hope they don't change that.

  58. Elizabeth Brunton-avatar

I'm using this app to review modern Hebrew vocabulary, and it is very good for that. You will need another app or program to learn grammar (I used Learn Hebrew Pod). I really appreciate the ability to build your collection with high quality audio pronunciation files, as this is hard to find for Hebrew. I have found a few words that I believe have translation issues. I have reported these using the flagging feature, and hopefully their team will follow up on them. Overall, this is a great app!

A pretty easy and a fun way to learn. I'd like to see a " learn Hebrew with the bible kinda app. An app for people to learn Hebrew. As an English/ French speaking Canadian, I'm not the only one who would love to be able to learn my Christian faith in the original inarent version,,, Hebrew and Greek. If you have a program, let me know, I'd pay to use it as would others.

After the last update, it loads very, very slowly. The screens post session take forever to load, glitch out, and are long and useless for me. I just want to "close and reset timer" right after I finish. The app overall has really great functionality, and I subscribed to the premium version for more time (other account), but I'm getting very put-off by the wait times and bugs.

  61. J. States-avatar

Fast and easy immersion into a language. (I am learning Hebrew.) Don't forget to switch voices under profile to hear how men speak versus women (verb forms are different in some languages based on speaker's gender.) I found this to be a great vocabulary builder and the premium version is worth it. Use this for vocabulary and Duolingo for syntax.

I've so far tried it only for five minutes. impression is good so far. noticed that most of the selections have a padlock sign on them. We'll see if it implies purchasing it down the road. And the app promised extra free minute for the review of how much I liked them. Which again might indicate the sure future to come.

This app is fantastic for learning Hebrew! (As well as other languages.) I love how they use pictures & gifs to represent each word/letter/number! I love the repetition they use. I just really love the format of the whole Drops system! The colors they use and they way it all looks and how it works, all comes together very beautifully to help you learn the language you want to learn! I have seen several other language learning programs and apps that DO NOT include Hebrew as an option! Drops does!

  64. Christine Anderson-avatar

    Christine Anderson

the app would be MUCH better if it only introduced you to 5 or 6 characters and spent 5 minutes on acquainting you thoroughly with just those characters rather than constantly throwing more and more new ones at you. i felt like i was under attack with one new character after another and didn't have time to grow accustomed to the first 5 or 6. sorry but you asked.

  65. Steph Sam-avatar

Shows you words in diffrent categories that you choose from. Has diffrent methods to help you remember the words more so by sight and the pronunciation is helpful. For the limited time (5min. every 10hrs) I feel you don't really take the time to study the letters of each words as you could if you weren't feeling rushed. Also does not give you sentences to structure or grammar basics. But you definitely do learn hebrew words and get better at reading Hebrew and the app itself is fun.

  66. Candice Madewell-avatar

    Candice Madewell

I love it! I love languages, and this is the best vocab app I've seen. Visually appealing, easy to use, and a variety of exercises to reinforce learning. My only criticism is the high price for premium, especially when I wouldn't be able to share this with my children. I would gladly pay for the lifetime access if it allowed multiple users so I could use for homeschool!

  67. Elijah Multamaki-avatar

    Elijah Multamaki

I've been using it for months now, however ive noticed that on some of the Hebrew categories there are repetitions of words. For example the cooking and more cooking categories, there is a repetition of the words מגרדת ( Grater ) which actually also shows up on google translate as Itchy lol. I want to have full confidence in the application i am using to learn a new language, which i dont feel like i have yet. Please could you fix these issues. Edit: Not Fixed. Even Worse since review.

  68. Helen McCoy-avatar

Great for beginners! It's a great app. I, a rather unmotivated person, managed to actually stick with learning words for most days since I started using this (yeah, I did miss some). Because of Hebrew's relatively simple alphabet, I decided to just dive in head first, turn off the english spelling, and try to work out which letters corresponded to what sounds myself. I love it. I very quickly bought the premium subscription to increase the time limit.

  69. Hannah Newman-avatar

    Hannah Newman

I love the visuals as an aid in this app! It's a fantastic learning app, but the premium subscription is expensive and they only give you five or ten minutes on the app per day unless you upgrade to premium. It's very limited, it would be nice if they would give more learning time.

  70. Sarah Burney-avatar

    Sarah Burney

Lessons are long and repetitive. Keeps asking you the same question in a slightly different way when you've already gotten it right five times in a row - doesn't learn or adapt based on progress. The format is gimmicky, it works for single words but longer phrases don't fit on the screen and are cropped weirdly. Doesnt teach grammar or conjugations, just words or phrases with no context or explanation.

  72. Tiffany M-avatar

I really like this app but I wish they showed the letters in all their different text forms. As if I want to read from say a book in hebrew it wouldn't look like it does in the app. However I like that it is broken up into segmants and you get to hear how everything sounds.

  73. Zayn Eve Dinsmore-avatar

    Zayn Eve Dinsmore

Just downloaded the app today, they give you 5 minutes learning time to start, and they are bribing me to write a review for an additional 5 minutes learning time. I have not yet formed solid opinions on the use of this app. I do, however, feel 5 minutes is a bit limiting.

  74. PIRO VIRUS-avatar

The best way I've found to start speaking a language that's as difficult as Hebrew. There are no depictions between the female and male versions as far as I have seen but I just started it so there may be the feminine and masculine pronunciation in later lessons. I'm able to catch on though and that's important especially with the brain teasers making you remember the word that goes with the pictures. Good stuff

  75. Alex Gitelman-avatar

    Alex Gitelman

It's good app for vocabulary building. However, 5 minutes per day and other restrictions of free version are very limiting. Also, I don't like how translitiration quickly replaces Hebrew script. I think it's good to be able to turn off translit unless explicitly asked. Would also be good to provide ability to repeat words on demand.

  76. Hunter Gillespie-avatar

    Hunter Gillespie

5 stars for visuals and it's great for teaching basics thus far, but more in-depth tools may be needed to become proficient in conversation. This will get you reading. Recommend trying without the romanized assistance so you don't immediately start translating. It's best to learn a language without having to translate everything to your native language.

  77. Have Mercy-avatar

    Have Mercy

A different way of learning the language...quick & repetitive which helps...ME...at least. I don't like the images though. I would it were a way to do it without them....but, Im guessing using the images, is basically the main factor in the way they do this process, with this App.

This app is by far the best language learning app for android.. I learned the alphabet for the language I was learning and 70 words in 1 week. Apart from the app I also wrote out the alphabet a few times & practiced the letter while I was idle throughout the day. I seriously recommend this app and it supports 30+ other languages so I think I will use it also to learn another, after I've learnt the one I learning now! Thank you to the authors, great & excellent app.

Pretty simple and easy to use and totally not overwhelming which is good. Often i would use the pictures as references instead of focussing on the word - if there were several different pictures for each word it might be a bit more realistic. Also there is no phonetic spelling

Have just completed the first lesson -so far so good! Update: struggling a bit as the lessons go on and include the Hebrew alphabet more and more - since we haven't learned the sounds of the symbols, it's guesswork at best. If that could be included, that would be amazing.

I speak Hebrew, but I've been searching for an App. that people can use that will help them learn a little at a time. Even though it might remind you of "Sesame Street," I believe that people learn by matching words with pictures. Even adults, you're not just memorizing new words, you're training your brain to look at an object & think of it in a different Language. Also you get little tests to help you learn to identify objects in Hebrew. This is good for People who truly want to learn!

I absolutely love it! It repeats new vocabulary until I feel comfortable, you can set it for male or female student (great for verbs), you can practice in several different ways and it has a dojo for practicing words, it knows you have a trouble with. I highly recommend!

  85. Speranta Carp-avatar

    Speranta Carp

Lovely app. I've been using it for almost a year and had no problems with it. I loooove the interface and the gamified reward system. It's the most pleasant app I've had. I'd gladly buy a version to support them, if the only premium option wasn't too expensive for my budget.

  86. Rebecca Smith-avatar

    Rebecca Smith

This is a fun and easy app. However, it would be nice to learn the Hebrew alphabet BEFORE having to read and recognize wordThis app also has inappropriate and indecent pictures associated with words that randomly appear when playing it. You can opt out of learning the words but not out of seeing the pictures randomly appear on the screen. Also, when I updated it, I was given longer periods of time before I could use it again. And most of the topics became locked. That's annoying and irritating.

    Rose Patterson

I really like drops and I've used the Spanish and Esperanto version for a while now. But on the Hebrew version, the voices never load. It's very different from English but I can't justify trying to learn it if i can't hear it.

  88. Leah Grasso-avatar

    Leah Grasso

Works well for basic vocabulary. Look for grammar and speech patterns elsewhere. Learning curve at the start is steep, but you get the hang of it quickly. Play is fast, fun, and informative.

Very well done and great concept to limit learning sessions to a few minutes at a time. Personally, I don't like subscription model though, but even the free version is great for a starter

good app. Helps to learn in small increments. Makes the user want to do more every day, and not get bored. Wish there were no ads though. Still, would fully reccomend over numerous other language apps.

Absolutely brilliant app. Clear pronunciation. Allows you to learn the alphabet first. Five minutes a day is a good way to start a language routine! Simple and intuitive to use. Fun!

I just completed the first five minutes and it was actually fun! I'm really really impressed how this app gamifies repetitive vocab learning with such simplicity and makes it not totally boring while repeating the words enough times for the adult brain to retain the information.

  93. Ricardo Cruz-avatar

I love the way I am challenged to remember words through different methods. I also like the fact that there were no ads interrupting my study time. The pronounciation of the words is also helpful.

  94. Robert Gordon-avatar

    Robert Gordon

I love how familiar it gets me with the items and pronunciation, but give me the same test, with just the spelling of the word as well, so i can get better with reading, word pronunciation, and visuals.

  95. Matt Miller-avatar

You can't look at what you've learned without buying a plan. Go to collection to make sure you know the difference between mem and mem sofit and it pops an advertisement telling you to subscribe. Close the ad and it takes you out of collection. Go to collection again and it pops up the same idiotic ad.

I have tried lots of language learning apps only to be disapointed. This one is great. Actually does what it says. Has a unique formula to help you learn. You will not be dissapointed.

This is one of the best websites for learning a language.Every single website did not teach like drops.Drops makes it fun and enjoyable.and it makes you learn by showing a picture, which is very helpful.this really deserves a 5 star. babbel is not close as good as drops.very reasonable cost.

Amazing app.It learns you from the start with words, not like mondly that starts with complicated sentences. And it learns you the hebrew letters, mondly barely have hebrew letters in it. Awesome, love it.Would have been the best app if it had a leaderboard, not that it isn't the best app.

love how it starts with teaching the Hebrew alefbet...most language learning apps that I have used dont teach the alefbet. When you know each letter and the sound/pronunciation it makes understanding and retaining new words and information much easier!!

  119. Hayden Siegel-avatar

This app is for everyone. It has images if you are a visual learner and clearly shows how you read and write words in Hebrew as well as how to pronounce. I am very excited about this app. But it does not tell you when words should be used for a female or a male that is my only complaint.

  121. Tajuonna Hayden-avatar

Brief few minutes experience. Simple/easy. Downside is no writing it out in Hebrew (yet?) which would solidify learning. Plus only seeing the large letters and not the handwriting way so .... wondering the usefulness of this. But enjoying the bite sided "DROPS". Toda rahba

just completed the first lesson. Enjoyable, but hoping there will be repetition of these "learned" words as the lessons progress. It was so quick I certainly didn't retain much and completely ignored one of the alphabets as there was too much for my brain to process, but will revisit this rating after a few more lessons. ✌️
