Good app but nothing special here. Many others do the same thing. However, blocking SPECIFIC Ipv6 addresses would be something Unique which is the functionality I was originally looking for. Sorry but if you are going to say anything about iptables, you need to have functionality to be able to add single IP addresses into the iptables. This blocks the entire app, which is not what I am looking for. Thanks anyway.

Gibt dem Benutzer die Kontrolle zurück, welche Apps ins Netz dürfen - und welche nicht. Nachdem mittlerweile fast jedes Programm aus oft unerfindlichen Gründen Netzzugriff verlangt ist Droidwall die angemessene Antwort. Schade, dass mit root als Voraussetzung die Schwelle für manche zu hoch liegt. Aber da Android nichts vergleichbares mitbringt lohnt der Aufwand. Kompliment und Dank an die Entwickler.

So why can't we have some basic features that are conspicuous by their absence? Save/export logs, rules, etc. would be a great place to start. It could be my phone, but log is always empty when I turn it on in the morning; occasionally it's emptied itself while in use. The rules all remain... Just to save me the bother of searching for them, where are logs, scripts and rules kept? More stars when features added and glitch fixed. Ta.

Great for blocking internet access for apps that call up ads or transfer data. Like an app but not the permissions? Worried about updates that may send you over your data allowance? If it doesn't require internet access to function, Droidwall will cut it off for you, just like your device was in flight mode. Easy to set up, and you can default all apps to on or off by default.

Not only can it prevent data overages, saving you money, not only can it extend your battery life, but it's a vital security tool that every Android device needs, whether their owners realize it or not. I'm not sure if this is the best firewall for Android, it's the only one I've tried, but it's also the only one I've needed. ********** Update: This app has ceased being updated since the author sold the code to Avast. You should now consider either installing the Avast app or installing another firewall app. **********

I had this installed then setup Avast, thinking that I could consolidate features between apps. Avast is great, but the firewall is over simplified. I couldn't get a couple of apps to work with Avast, even after enabling all registered apps and rebooting the phone. Switched back to Droidwall and haven't looked back since. Excellent app! Suggested enhancements: notification and ability to quickly update firewall settings when an app is trying to connect to network. Also, Notify after installing app. Thanks!

This is a MUST HAVE app for anyone that uses their phone for everything! Mine is a battery eater and a firewall shutting my xtra apps access saves me power. A PC has s firewall written into the OS. It's about time we have one for our "mini PCs". Nice! Running on Moto Triumph w/ CM7.2 g60.

Good app. I would like a feature - Ability to save a setting as a profiles and apply them one click. One problem: If "set mobile data limit" is enabled on ICS, then rules do not work. If I disable "set mobile data limit", rules are correctly applied. Please fix this - I would like the ability to use both Droidwall and Mobile data limit.

I use dolphin browser and it does not show up within the list. Therefore I cannot use a browser at all since it's blocked unless I uninstall this app or whitelist everything. Please fix for 5 stars! EDIT: After some tinkering I got it to show. Other than that one detail I experienced this is an excellent app and I can easily see how it could help with limited data plans. Keep up the good work!

Had to find a firewall app once Avast removed their top notch firewall from mobile security. Came across this firewall and I'm glad I did. Easy to use, straight forward, and just good all around. Make sure to change the list to "blacklist" instead of "whitelist" for ease of use (just press the bar at the top that says "whitelist" which is the default mode). Thanks dev! Great job.
