I'm not a huge fan of being able to rotate the camera but I got used to it quickly; my real issue arises whenever I try to appraise something with Torneko Taloon- the game freezes every time. I'm only on chapter 3 so, maybe it wont freeze when I try to appraise something in the final chapter? Still, VERY annoying, especially if this doesn't get fixed. Otherwise, good remake of a good classic.

Great game, merely competent port. Positives: The story is simple but satisfies. The characters aren't developed very far but are inherently charming. As always, great music. A substantial length. Problems: I'm not sold on the rotating maps. This is a 2d game, so I find it gimmicky and ugly without adding anything. The game froze on me every time I tried to use Torneko's appraise skill, so I never used it. Skills are somewhat interchangeable, making party selection arbitrary.

Would have given this awesome game 5 stars however the need to go online occasionally so it can check the license is annoying since I have limited data and cannot always get online. Played though twice and the only glitch I came across was the credits displaying a little weirdly at the top and bottom of the screen (does not affect the game at all).

A surprisingly good port. I'd recommend it, but I wish it was available on the Nintendo Switch, as well as the Final Fantasy pixel remasters.

I've already played one two and three and now four and enjoyed them all :) my only wish is that dragon quest 7 be available :) and I will finish the series up to 8 lol thank you for bringing dragon quest to the Google Play store!

A great game with a serious drawback. This is every bit as fun as the original version of the game. It even has the advantage of saving at nearly any point in the game. But the drawback is enough to ruin the game. The game' s saves can self delete. If not for this I would give this game 5 stars.

Amazing game and easy to play on a mobile device. I've beaten it multiple times on NES and mobile and this is a great updated version of the NES classic!

I played through the whole game, plus Post-Game content. It's a fantastic story (one of the best in the series) with some of the most memorable characters in the series. It also fixes the botched lack of party speak that the DS failed to have, get this game as soon as you can. Hopefully, it'll get a Console and PC port alongside every DQ game in the series.

Older versions of the game secretly let Taloon, in Chapter 3, come to the store as a customer, after a customer sells a Cautery Sword (Sword of Malice), and buy it for himself. WHY would you implement a NEGATIVE quality-of-life adjustment by REMOVING that???? It was the most fun secret in all of Chapter 3!! Sorry, but I cant give 5 stars, after this. its almost perfect, in every other way, though.

I was wary of the complaints about the translation, but they've proven unfounded. It's quite decent; people are confusing the phonetic spelling and intentionally broken or dialectic english with poor writing. The use of these devices is common in early rpgs, before audible speech and detailed graphics could be used to convey ethnic variations. This adds distinctiveness to each region, though it demands more of the reader (eg: familiarity with legitimate, but obscure words like "ken" and "bairn".)
