    Crashes all the time, No SD card support, Loses connection with Geniego and DVR's all the time, Slow loading list when it does actually load the list, shows waiting to download never start downloading, on and on and on and on. Fix this crap. I still have Dish and their app works flawlessly. Shame on you Directv or AT&T whoever the Hell you are now.

    It worked a couple of times early last year then it stopped working and never would again. The integrated app doesn't work either. Looks like the DTV & ATT merger will be causing alot of issues for awhile if not permanently.

    After having this awhile, it finally became stable and reliable. Now they are moving it to the DirecTV app where so far no luck getting it to work. Wish DirectTV would just leave it alone. Guess i will continue to use app, and then cancel it

    DTV suckceeded in making the GenieGo app just about useless to me. Does not consistently download, but will consistently crash on two phones. Cuss Service says try restarting phone or uninstall/reinstall when that happens. Really? I refuse to update on my tablet. At least I can download shows to watch, but not as convenient as on the phone.

    I went to turn on my Genie go tonight and it advises me to go to the DirecTV app so I can watch the list of programs on my DVR, I do that and of course it doesn't work on the DirecTV app either. What is going on with you guys do you not know how to hire some decent IT people more often than not this app does not work matter of fact your almost wondering if it's going to work because most of the time you know it's not going to work. I have never had Netflix fail.

    What a piece of crap. Got it working again with no help from DTV support (thank you forums) and now with new update I need to be home to login and set up. I TRAVEL FOR WORK. THIS IS WHY I BOUGHT THIS POS. I am so sick of this waste of money.

    Yes, it acts a little quirky sometimes. At least it works once you fiddle with it though. The new integrated all-in-one DTV app doesn't work at all with my LG tablet. Please don't get rid of GenieGo until the other app actually works. Listen to your feedback.

    Tried it with DTV app integration. It doesn't work! Downloaded shows appear and disappear. Recorded shows update and revert back to old list when refreshing. Fix the DTV integration before this app goes away!

    I love this app I don't know why they built the geniego app onto the direct tv app it freezes when going through tunnels on the train and it stops playing while watching a show or movie it's just horrible I guess they have to work out the kinks but the geniego app by itself is the best .

    Ordered at the end of August, spent two weeks working with IT with both Directv and ATT. Returned it in the beginning of September. Now still fighting for the refund. Freaking four months, what is going on?!

    Love the app, but so big we need to be able to be able to use the extsd card. The latest update enabled the direct TV app to use the extsd option so half way there! For those having issues you need to install the directtv app to use geniego app. When both apps are installed it's so awesome! Been using for over a year, even more awesome when waiting in my car waiting for long periods!! 😊

    I have never been able to get out of home access to work, even after hours spent on the phone with Direct TV and my Internet provider. Direct TV says it's my Internet (which works fine) and after my Internet company spent hours on the phone with me (I even paid to upgrade to an IT service package) they could only tell me it is a Direct TV issue. I am able to access it in the home (through my Internet) so....what I use it for is, in the house, to down load recordings to my tablet to watch on the plane

    After waiting and waiting I thought the latest update for lollipop would finally work, but it is not the case. This app is constantly slow, playback is buggy, streaming is problematic, shows don't download properly, tried reset to defaults, phone reset, nothing seems to make this work. Why did I pay DirecTV for this device when it is not usable? This has been the case for a long time, not just the latest update.

    Used to run on a droid RAZR Maxx HD and then the newer RAZR Maxx. Now on s6 active and nothing but issues. Both phones did have the same problem that I had to have a data connection to login so I would watch downloaded programs when on a plane. Kinda defeats the point

    New version still has bugs. After uninstall and reinstall. Gx5 can find and download shows. Next day cannot find Geniego no matter how many times I try. Old version could find but not download. I also checked and am able to find Geniego with my ipad so it is the Android app that is at fault. I suspect it is related to the renew downloaded program function. In examining the problem more, it seems that the problem is not that it cannot find the Geniego because I can check the storage status of the Genie.

    First let me state that before att bought a DirecTV my Genie go worked fine. That being said I have had a tech come out to my house 5 days in a row to try and set up my hardware and my uverse router they finally got the hardware to work only to be told that the problem is with the app and engineers are aware of the problem and are working on it a waste of money a waste of time please please fix it

    Has constantly gone downhill since AT&T bought it out. Used to have a great widget and actually stream tv! Has slowly declined, and now doesn't work at all. Luckily I got DirecTV to get me free NFL Ticket Max or I would be out of here.

    Ever since I upgraded my phone to the Note 5 I can't use this app. It gives me an Internet error. Fiancée's Note 3 works fine. I have AT&T and she has Verizon, but don't think that matters.

    Last few weeks I get the cannot activate error. Before that, there was no way to get it through my 2 router firewall (even though my NAS and other devices never had a problem). Basically this is a $100 heat generator for my media cabinet.

    Worked once only not either does not open or will play only a very small portion and then go back to home screen and just loads. No amount of shuting down and restarting will help. Super frustrating wish I meber bought the genie go machine just a big disapointment. Really hope they fix soon. I have this on my phone and tablet and neigher one works.

    I love DirecTV at home, but the GenieGo service is crap. Sometimes it does work, but usually you get a "Can't stream right now. Try again later," message. TRYING AGAIN LATER NEVER WORKS! You have to exit the program, stand on your head, spin around three times, and roll box cars.

    Was bad, now worse. Rebooted Genie Go, phone and router multiple times. According to the router support instructions, my router is set up correctly but this app still doesn't work. Glad I wasted $100 on this garbage.

    I got the genie go system to download shows to my tablet for watching while on long flights. Old version would eventually timeout while attempting to sign in (it would make more sense for the creators of this app to recognize airplane mode, like many other apps do) and go on to the play list. New version broke this, doesn't time out, even when the device is in airplane mode it still attempts sign in. Worse, support told me the new version is WiFi only and only in my home network!?

    First off, video quality is crap. My Genie Go has a gigabit connection to my router and my equipment is wireless AC so I have plenty of bandwidth, apparently DirecTV just doesn't want you watching your shows in HD. Secondly their Out Of Home service just doesn't work, at home I run the test and it says out of home will work but every time I try to access my Genie on the go it says it doesn't work. Customer service even told me my ISP is compatible. Please fix this DirecTV, this is unacceptable.

    I downloaded episodes to watch and it now crashes every time. Wiped data and it worked for a few then started to crash on startup again. Streaming was working with no problems.

    DirecTV could have hit it out of the park but instead hit nothing but a foul pop-up. Can only stream to one device at a time. Audio is completely distorted. Clunky interface, requiring multi clicks just to change programs. Video not quite proper aspect ratio on tablet, so image is slightly squished. Menu cannot display in landscape mode requiring head to be twisted when tablet on stand. SHOULD I GO ON??? I am SHOCKED at the lack of quality from an industry leader.

    Follow the instructions. You have to open the portals on your router so your cell phone can get in the network. Make sure when you're on your computer doing the setup that your portal numbers are the same on the computer app and on your phone app. It's working great for me

    My last review of this was horrible, but now that it's working properly, I love it. I usually download a few shows before I go to work and watch them when I get some free time. If you have wifi or unlimited data, frame rate is a bit slower but still good! Thanks for repairing this app!

    Used to have this on an apple, hated the phone, loved the app. Switched to android, the android version doesn't work at all. Can't find genie go unless I reboot it 3 times, says out of home not working, but I'm in my home and it does work either. Test out of home and says working. Directv, you're about to lose me after 17 years.

    I immediately get "You are not connected (POSIX/51)" when using the same email/password that does work for the regular DirecTV app. The error is instantaneous, it does not even try to go out and authentic the email and password.

    9/28/2015 Update found fix for out of the home streaming. You have to hit the red restart button on your DVR. Leaving old review still terrible app and service; Now that ATT has DirecTV they took no time to truely upset me by making it impossible to remotely access content on my DVR. Now users will get error message "Unable to stream due to a DRM connection issue." ATT will not give rights to stream over cellular networks and most WIFI hotspots. What's the point of this device now is beyond me. Never thought they would make Comcast look better. Which they don't we just have another bad choice for cable providers. Thanks AT&T

    Direct tv come up with a good idea. They sell the good idea. They make money off the genie go. Then they don't fix or maintain their product so the customer can actually use it. It's a scam and a waste of money. I have an Apple and android that only work sometimes. Not worth it.

    Why did I spend money on this product? I don't know. It has so many restrictions it's a pain to use. It won't authenticate now so it wants me to restore defaults but if I do that I lose what I transferred and I'm on a trip. Trued to use it on plane last night and it wouldn't play a video. Garbage product. Shame on you Directv. Why am I paying you again? Oh yes so I can be endlessly frustrated. Oh yeah and Directv won't support chromecast because they want to hobble your use.

    Preparing for a long trip the geniego was purchased. The app at first was able to download stuff (but not the SD card!) to my mobile device but now the app won't run. Total waste of both time and money. I have to go now without this and no time to call the customer service computer. arggg. Update... Tried again with new install and app just does not come up.

    I have loaded this on a Note 3 & a Note 4. Two phones DirecTV specifically brags to have "improved support". Can't get past the first screen. So basically, the app is a wallpaper. The 'get started' button is non responsive. That makes that statement, clearly, a bold lie. This is typical for DirecTV. Lawsuits are in order.

    Thanks to GenieGo, I have been watching recorded content from my phone/laptop on hotel TVs all over the world (using Push2TV). However, please let us download content out-of-home (or at least via vpn). Plus, any kind of streaming is unwatchable.

    The installation was easy. Worked as expected. The app isn't the prettiest, but it gets the job done. It would be nice if I could cast. Apple users can AirPlay, why can we cast?

    I have been in the same boat as most of you. I was ticked that I spent 100 bucks for a useless GenieGo box. It never worked even after the recommended fixes. Today I thought I'd try again and opened my GenieGo app on my Samsung Note 4 and it connected me to my DVR in just a few seconds and I was watching my DVR recorded shows as if I was watching my home TV. Still can't believe it. Give it a go and hopefully you'll have the same good fortune! Fingers XX to all😉

    Works perfectly on all devices. Had a little trouble setting up our router for it, online dtv helped and worked like a charm for all five of our phones and tablets. Switched to a genie dvr and now we can't use genie go. Ridiculous! So frustrating!

    This app is horrible, it has not updated in over 6 months, and it crashes after you get over 54 gigabyte of shows, what a ripoff, and there is no tablet support.

    Don't install. Does not work. I have tried several time to make it work. The genie has the ethernet cable connect to the home router and nothing.

    They don,t tell you this up front.not good business practice,but if you go threw the app it tells you that you have to buy this device in order for the app to work.

    Will usually require several refresh attempts before it sees my dvrs when on my home network. Always tells me out of home access needs to be configured even after every attempt says successful. Out of home access will often error with message "cannot connect to DRM server". My guess is that's the reason for most of the problems.

    The GenieGo is not a box you connect to a TV. It has no output ports. It only give you remote access to you main DVR. You can view your show on Android device. Was hoping to connect it to screen in van or to TV in hotel rooms...nope. You can only watch it on your tablet or phone. Not worth the bucks snce you can use normal direct app to view normal shows anyway.

    I have the app on my tablet and it works fine. I just downloaded the app on my gs5 and it won't let me hit the get stared button. So it doesn't work. Please fix!

    When I first got geniego two years ago it worked as advertised. Streaming outside of the house, watching content offline... Everything worked. Somewhere in the past few months it broke. Can no longer stream outside of the house, some offline content won't play back and even some shows won't stream from within the home network. Geniego is over of the main reasons we left cable and TiVo and got DirecTV. Now....DirecTV is looking a lot like them.

    Switched from Windows phone which doesn't allow download of programs from my GenieGo. Only problem is I can't delete programs from my Android after I did a full phone reset because of an unrelated problem.

    Works better after update but it will never auto download shows already prepared. I have to manually goto the dvr list and select show by show for downloads to device. Hopefully support can fix this core functionality for all shows marked "auto download".

    I used my day off to go home and download my dvr, 3 weeks worth of programming. I rarely get to go home so genie go justifies having direct tv. But tonight it kept crashing, so I reinstalled hoping it wouldn't lose 60gb of shows on sd card. Now I get error POSIX/52 when I try to log back in.

    Crashes every time after starting. Spent an hour on the phone with Directv. They seem to think it is just me. It is time they took a look at the playstore ratings. As many people rate it a 1 as they do a 5. Obvioulsy they have a real problem but they are acting like Comcast and sticking their head in the sand. Very disappointing

    Not a big deal to get this thing running on my iPad, laptop, iPhone and Samsung droid. However on the phones it often seems that it loses its marbles. I open it and it acts like its brand new and then asks for login. It's fine if I am at home on wifi, but if I am out of residence its impossible to get running until on the same network. Sadly, its when you are away from home that it's useful. Kind of a joke that you can't get it working unless you are at home. It doesn't seem to be relative to updates either

    The Geniego is not a bad app when it works, but there are too many issues too often. I can only hope the AT&T purchase of DirecTV will help app.

    This app has been out for several years now and they still haven't figured out how to display the correct aspect ratio. If you have a 16x9 type device works fine, but if you have a 4x3 tablet all the images are stretched to fill the screen. Really DTV? For an add on service which requires customers to purchase an additional piece of equipment?

    Doesn't link up to any receiver. Don't understand why Direct TV would put their brand name on anything that fails so miserably. They clearly hired the wrong developers to execute this task.

    Needs to have a tablet version. I hate that the menus don't support landscape mode. On my 12.2 inch screen, I never use portrait mode. Why doesn't DirecTV understand the concept of landscape or using tablets as opposed to phones?

    Works for a few days, then starts failing to connect, then says the app has encountered an error and needs to be reset and won't work till you do reset it, which causes you to loose all your videos and have to resync. Updated to marshmallow, now won't launch at all. DirecTV fix this worthless app, I paid good money for this thing so at least provide me an app that works!

    I got a whole year of use from my $100 Geniego device. It worked fairly well, but I didn't really get a lot of use out of it. Downloading took like four hours per show as it had to re encrypt and copy protect the shows again and then you could leave the device connected overnight and hope that the show downloaded.

    I can't even get the app to start except to say get started and then it just goes to the help setup the genie, I've went through all of the steps the genie is connected to wifi and still it will not open to do anything. I like being able to record movies but without the app working it sucks
