Google Play Reviews

  1. Neil Baldwin-avatar

My favourite apps do their job quietly and effectively, improving the functionality of your device, their authors instinctively compensating for missing or underdeveloped features. In this way they become essential, in the truest sense of that worn out superlative. DAVx is certainly one of those apps. Essential, truly.

  2. Vector Vitale-avatar

Does what it says on the tin. Never had a single failure. Open source, responsive on Twitter. Can't reccomend it enough.

  3. Steve Youngs-avatar

I'm using it with Nextcloud. It is easy and painless to set up and very reliable.

  4. MAS-avatar

Great. Synchronizing contacts with my own NAS instead with Google or the phone manufacturer. That's what people need.

  5. Marco Almerigogna-avatar

    Marco Almerigogna

I have bought and installed this app after that one I was using before left me without contacts on the phone and no support for two months. This app syncs well, has many custom aware features, it is a one stop shop for contacts, calendar and tasks and best of all it has blazing fast support from the developer.

  6. Seb-avatar

The latest version is throwing a lot of java errors :/

  7. Dion Henare-avatar

Perfect! Exactly what I needed and very simple to set up.

  8. Andrew Barnett-avatar

Does what it says, easily and simply.

  9. Nick Spreitzer-avatar

Exactly what I needed! Happy that I can synchronize my Android contacts to Fastmail.

  10. OC Häusler-avatar

Works as expected 👍👍 Update in response to Devs: Fair enough, +1 star to make you happy 😄

  11. Stephen P-avatar

Reliable, works well for me with Fastmail.

  12. Felix S-avatar

    Very reliable with Nextcloud

  13. Johannes H. Glitsch-avatar

    Johannes H. Glitsch

Easy to set up. Even for my mom. Sensible defaults. Seems to work very well after that as well. One thing though... Entering the wrong password does not give a wrong password message, but something like "no dav service found". That is very confusing... (-1). But overall recommended over CardDAV-Sync, which I have been using for years. I'll update this review as I go.

  14. Karsten-avatar

Simple! Does not sync anything at all!!!

  15. Mike Flint-avatar

An app that "just works". Having spent ages trying to get an acceptable bidirectional sync solution between Android and Horde, I gave up, and installed this. And now everything syncs both ways, and you can forget its even there. Ought to be in Android by default, but that's life.

  16. Janne Ohtonen-avatar

I upgraded the review to five stars as the app works great. It is Huawei phone that has the issues. The developer sent me instructions on how to turn off all battery automation impacting performance. Now all ok with this app. ---original review--- This does well well but drains the battery so 3 stars instead of 5

  17. Moon Wong-avatar

Long time user of Card/CalDAV-Sync. Started getting cheesed of with the contact app of different phones changing the labels of the phone numbers of contacts so found the excellent replacement of Simple Mobile Tools. The problem was CalDAV-Sync just would not work without the default calendar configured. Swapped to DAVx5 which allowed me to disable the default calendar and was really impressed with how easy it was to setup and all the different functions and logs available.

  18. Daniel Bergløv-avatar

    Daniel Bergløv

You may be able to get this for free via source or fdroid, but the price definitely matches the value of this app. This one-time purge is worth it as the app works perfektly for what it is surposed to, and the small fee may ensure that development stays active for a longer period of time.

  19. Steffen Schade-avatar

Works well for me since years now.

  20. ZangBox Phone-avatar

Works flawlessly with every provider that I have tried, which granted is only two. Well-made app.

  21. Florian Dazinger-avatar

    Florian Dazinger

Use it for a few years now, together with nextcloud. Highly recommended!

  22. Beat Guggisberg-avatar

    Beat Guggisberg

Only syncs reliable after batterysaveing settings are manually changed.

  23. PlauzeTung-avatar

I am using it to synchronize my nextcloud contacts and dates - works like a charm!

  24. Alice Rhodes-avatar

Keep Nextcloud up to date and this works great

  25. Iskren Mihaylov-avatar

    Iskren Mihaylov

Using it for years with my Nextcloud server.

  26. Glenn-avatar

Using it to sync my Synology calendar and contacts ++

  27. K.C. Martin-avatar

It COULD be an issue with me as I'm not super tech-savvy, but I couldn't get a good sync going to save my soul, and the documentation just wasn't all that clear.

  28. A Google user-avatar

My smartphone would be useless without DAVx. I have been using it since when it was called DavDroid. Like since 4 years now. Since I do not use the calendar from Google (I'm using fruux) I needed a way to connect it to my phone. Only DAVx does the job properly. It also does integrate contacts list, and it can be configured to use the contacts' "category" field to make groups on the phone. Priceless. Bonus: you can use your ownCloud/nextCloud caldavs, even with self signed certificates.

  29. Lyu JH-avatar

DAVdroid actually works with my synology NAS. (DSM 6.12, DS3615xs firmware). The video showed several calendar apps, including business calendar 2, A+ calendar, and another one (?). Business calendar would be my best choice. Events and tasks on my cellphone are synchronized to my NAS within 1 mins. The setting of Google calendar in DAVdroid is more complicated. I will recommend to business calendar 2 to auto sync between your google calendar and smartphone. DAVdroid is a simple tool to sync between your smartphone and your NAS (synology calendar). You may not use google calendar all of your life. That's why I decided to buy it.

  30. A Google user-avatar

Excellent app, relatively simple to configure, it's stable and syncs quite quickly. It was key in moving to privately hosted services and dump Google calendar, tasks and contacts, thereby reclaiming a big chunk of privacy and control over my data. Tried other connectors, none were as simple nor stable. Also really appreciate that 'family library' is enabled, so I could purchase the licence and install on my spouse's devices too. A widget to sync an account would be a really useful!

  31. Jan Richter-avatar

Seems to work very well. I don't regret the money. However, there are still some issues which I don't know if they're caused by DAVx5. The main one is that postal address in contacts is not syncinc. Well, It was synced for the first time but whenever I edit it, either on the server side or on my phone, the change does not appear on the other side. Changing the address type (Home/Work) works fine but the content of the address does not. This is, however, something I probably can live with. Any help would be appreciated.

  32. A Google user-avatar

(installed in a HUAWEI P20 Lite or ANE-LX1)Just PERFECT with Yahoo and its Calendar ! Actually, after trying many applications failing to sync in read/write mode with YC, I ended with DAVdroid as their web page says that it has been successfully tested. It failed to connect when I tried for the 1st time. Simply because Yahoo has a 2-step security system and if it is activated, you need to generate in your Yahoo Account a special password. But it is explained in their web pages. Their support has been very reactive, and they gave the right path. Now, all event created either in my smartphone or PC are very well synchronized, read and write (you can create/modified events it will be updated both ways).

  33. A Google user-avatar

I bought CardDav, CalDav and struggled to get them working seamlessly with my Nextcloud installation. Even though those are good apps they just needed a bit too much finessing as I moved from one phone to another. I have been using Davdroid for years and it's made my world an easier place. Thanks for the good work and continuing to add features AFTER you had my money.

  34. foo bar-avatar

Once created, account URL cannot be changed anymore. since that's why I bought the app (got somehow the impression that it is possible) this app is not better than free apps. UI is more polished, but constantly nagging about 'scheduled sync' despite being told 'no' several times already. all in all, nothing worth paying for.

  35. Jonny Gordon-avatar

Thank God... finally my woes of calendar sync (hosted on SOGo) are over, and I'm not forced to host email on the big tier companies who refuse to adopt CalDav. Worked flawlessly instantly. I sync outlook via the free outlook extension CalDav Syncroniser through DAVx5 on my phone... more than happy to pay the modest price. Thank you thank you thank you!!

  36. Benedikt Packmohr-avatar

    Benedikt Packmohr

Works brilliantly on my device. Only thing missing for CalDAV is an option to enable default reminders for events without a reminder, like e.g. CalDAV Sync does.

  37. Eric Burgess-avatar

Advertised as tested successfully with Synology's CardDAV server, but despite following their setup guide to the letter, I couldn't get it working. Despite providing screenshots and logs to the support forum, the response was "You're typing your password wrong" closely followed by "It's Synology's fault". Anyway, save your money.

  38. Jubilee-avatar

Been using this for years now with NextCloud. It's not that hard to set up, and once you have it set up, it works flawlessly without any further interaction needed.

  39. Matt Piermarini-avatar

    Matt Piermarini

Ive been using this for years to sync my many different caldav calendars (work, google, oracle & nextcloud). It just works, all the time. And they still update the software constantly after all these years. Well worth the money.

  40. hard times-avatar

this seems to be a stand alone component for alternative to cloud based everday tools. it is unclear if the legacy is a fresh compelling choice. i give it five stars for now and hope to fool with it someday further but for now and uninstalling.

  41. Dimitri Cassimatis-avatar

    Dimitri Cassimatis

This app does mostly what I need it to do. However it is mugging one main feature which is calendar attachments. My Synology NAS calendar can contain attachments but this will not sync them. Aside from that everything else is great.

  42. Adam Felson-avatar

I dumped gbmh caldav/carddav when after a phone restore, gbmh wanted to charge me again for the apps I had already paid for. They probably used a slight name change for that scam. This app works perfectly and I appreciate not having to create seperate contact/calendar accounts against the same email server.

  43. Francis Kipruto-avatar

    Great App for Calendar Syncronization

  44. Michael Doerner-avatar

    Michael Doerner

Excellent, essential app if you want to integrate calendars, tasks and address books (contacts) with your personal cloud storage. We use it with SOGo and Nextcloud.

  45. prakhar gupta-avatar

I must also say Thanks for creating this app. Since I have shifted from Google Suit to Yandex, I was facing lot of challenges in managing my calendar. But with your app, you have made my life way easy and convenient again.

  46. Marvin Siefke-avatar

I am using the app for syncing my calender and contacts with my Nextcloud server. The app is worth it’s price – it does it’s job as expected for two years on my phone now.

  47. Michael Iseard-avatar

Nice and consistent interface, works well and has regular updates. A must have for anyone who uses a caldav or carddav server.

  48. A Google user-avatar

Been using this app a few years now, has been working flawlessly. Just another step in saying no to the cloud.

  49. Joel E-avatar

every time i reboot my phone and tablet the syncing reverts back to "manual only".. very annoying having to remember to set it after a reboot.

  50. John Stirling-avatar

After having struggle to get consistent updates from our sogo server onto my phone calendar, now it 'just works'. Thank you DAVdroid and bitfire

  51. George Lester-avatar

Moved myself from Google to a Radicale server, this is an integral part of that for Android. Works great, worth it.

  52. Mark Knight-avatar

Working with Synology CardDAV. Took a bit of work, but got there eventually. Seems robust so far.

  53. Andrew Herrick-avatar

App was easy to set up with my Fastmail calendar and contacts, and just seems to sit quietly in the background doing its thing.

  54. A Google user-avatar

This app is amazing. love that I can control which devices are read only and which can be 2 way sync.

  55. Scott Jalbert-avatar

Works great with Fruux. Wish it had a backup/restore for moving between devices but it's easy to set up.

  56. Sam Park-avatar

Works very well. Just remember to set settings for syncing interval or it will be manual only.

  57. Sergii Smirnov-avatar

The app doesn't work properly, syncs only partial details. Constantly throws errors without details. Developer responsed only once with instructions that didn't work, and then went dark.

  62. Wes Price-avatar

Using it to synchronize contacts and calendars from Fastmail and Google, everything works great!

  63. Jahn-avatar

I wanted to replace carddav sync + caldav sync with this app, but unfortunately DAVx5 does not sync relations from my address book with my fastmail account. (Carddav sync does)

  64. Jan Mrázek-avatar

can't change event color it syncs the events but it doesn't sync the colours of events or at least with Google calendar..so it is useless for me this way
