Super inaccurate. I initially tried identifying plants I didn't know because I've been trying to figure out what I have on my new property. Something didn't seem quite right, so I tested it on my green basil, only for it to say it was valerian. My miniature rose it thought was something COMPLETELY different. Two, well-known, easily-identifyable plants, and it couldn't even get those right.

Makes identifying plants at home or on outdoor adventures infinitely easier. Know that you have to do some detective work on your own to get a firm ID, but this narrows it down so much that anyone can do it. Get the premium if you're an explorer or even if you just have a decent sized yard or garden. Well worth supporting the network and getting unlimited daily uses.

Can be frustrating to use. The UI is unintuitive, with your history of identified plants being in 'more'. There's no obvious way to correct mistaken identity it seems, as I favourited a snap that i went on to find was an incorrect ID where I was subsequently unable to point to the correct ID after finding it on Google, nor was the heart icon present any more to remove the snap from my favourites.

A friend and a neighbor also tried this app out alongside myself. The friend used multiple photos off the TAMU website for Texas plant identification. I took one of a wild bush officially identified as one of two possible species and also took two snaps of a neighbor's plant (one of the leaves and one of its tubers). Not sure what the other neighbor who tried the app did. The friend had one positive identification. I was given suggestions not even native to anywhere in the state (kiwifruit).

inaccurate 99% of the time EDIT: ok I watched the tutorial (even though I had to manually type the link out because it's not possible to select and copy it 🙄) There was no information I didn't already know. I will try ID some more plants I guess, but where do you get 97% from? People confirming the ID they got? Are they mostly American users? Does it take into account the inaccurate ones when people delete the photo (or app) out of frustration? (Not being facetious, genuinely curious!)

I just started using this, and it works well, although it gives too many possibles to sort through. But I do find the exact plant by browsing through the possibles because the photos are very good. It has solved three mysteries for me.

Totally inaccurate identifications. Developer requested which plants were misidentified... ALL of them. Pretty sure you are able to review my uploads and see how incorrect they are. Look at my photo and search history and see for your self. The results don't even look remotely like the photos I uploaded. I just did a dried seed (ball shaped) still on the stem from a tree and it resulted only mushrooms.

I expect more accuracy, 50% on plants I took pictures of. Some plants identified did not look like the picture submitted. I submitted some pictures for review by botanist. I can see a great future for this app when complete.

First, it's very difficult to use. It seems to be able to only identify well known plants that I already know what they are. It can't identify leaves. It gives ridiculous answers for weeds I was trying to identify.

  10. Lisa Carter-avatar

This cannot identify any plant and, you can only use it 3 times before it wants money on top of the constant ads and constant push for you to go premium. Don't waste your time or money!
