Adverts made me delete it. It would be nice if collins gave me free access since i spent £40 on the physical dictionary, say it had a code in for the companion app ad free. Sadly not, they want another £17 from you for that. So will just use the web for looking up words.

PROS: Excellent Collins content. CONS: No “share” feature to select and look up words from other apps. Search functionality is very limited; there’s no full text, example or idiom search. The “smart" search that seems to be happening only slows down the app and never comes up with anything relevant. Favorites don't sync across devices. The interface has an adware-like appearance. In a paid app, I don't want to see "Invite Friends" and "Rate App" on the home screen as if these were features for my benefit. The nagging "rate 5 stars" popup is especially annoying. The front matter or “special topics” of the printed dictionary are not included as they are with some other titles. I much prefer the WordWeb dictionary interface for which currently only the Chambers dictionaries appear to be available.

I am English language learner. I have purchased this app though my financial status is poor. So, kindly request you to make this app function properly without lagging as I was encountering this issue from the beginning. I hope this figure out my problem and do solve immediately. The best mobile dictionary I have ever used. Clear cut and unambiguous defintions along with phonetic transcription are it's hallmarks.

I expected to use the app for translating words, sadly I found it as an advertising tool. Sure it is ok to make ads, but this system is very distracting to use, I hope you would improve it.

So High Rate for Full Version of The Dictionary. Unthinkable! There Is No Much Difference Between This One with Oxford Dictionary Which Is at Nearly 1/7th Rate of This Dictionary. And There Are Several Very Good Dictionaries Which Are Totally Free & Also May Be Got in Offline Mode. And Word Limit & Definition in Details of Words Are Much Better in Those Dictionaries Than These Money Grabbing Dictionaries Like Oxford Or Colins.So I Am Giving It Single Star for Quality & High Rate of Full Version.

Paper dictionary is excellent. Hope this is as good, but why the daft naming of the app - 'English' instead of 'Collins' puts it in the wrong place in the app tray - and lousy icon, should be full size!

Slow: word search fails: visually unappealing. Do not buy. Stick with the online dictionary, because it looks better, works faster and succeeds at word searches.
