It's good for tracking your periods IF it loads. A third of the time it doesn't even show me my expected period, but when it does, it's spot on. It has recognized that every few months I have a longer than normal period, knows what symptoms I usually have on what days of my period. Pretty spot on when my ovulation is (we're trying for a baby so I take regular ovulation tests and it's almost always the day it says it's going to be).

I've used Clue for years, but I'm going to be looking for another period tracker. First reason, the ovulation tracker was removed. I've read the reasons behind the removal, but in my opinion the feature should have been something to turn on/off. Overall, the ovulation tracker window really did help me. Second, I'm willing to pay for the app, but not for a subscription. I really do love Clue, but it isn't working out for me.

  3. Kristen Lemke-avatar

They took away the ability to see future cycles without advising that now you would have to pay for this feature. To me that is shady AF. I've used the app for 5 years and would have appreciated a heads up instead of logging in to see when my period was going to start again only to find after 5 years I'd now have to pay for this feature. What kind of BS is that.

I was okay with everything they put behind a paywall UNTIL they put the freaking ovulation tracker behind a paywall too in the latest update!!? Excuse me?? Update: I just found out they straight up removed the ovulation tracker? Which is funny because in the settings you can still toggle it on and off but it doesn't do anything so I guess they overlooked that. I really don't get this decision, it makes no sense and I will be looking for a better app. Transferring all my data is gonna be fun...

Update: after receiving support from the team, I get my access back. Thank you! However, I deduct one star because I had tried to get this support via multiple channels and only got it after 2 weeks. The social media can do better and I look forward to seeing you getting more perfect every day. Other than that, this is a good app. ---- I used it for 2 years. Now all that data is gone without any notice, just a "updating... almost done" which lasts for a month already!!

  6. Maya N-avatar

Just leaving this review to say there must be a glitch? unless we cannot see any predictive cycles anymore.. i know to see more than 2 or 3 is behind a pay wall but no future cycle prediction shows for me anymore, and it says the ovulation function can be turned on and off now but it wont actually show anything when i turn it "on". currently its functioning as a calendar app that only takes input, hopefully its just an error that will be resolved!

  7. Shelley Magic-avatar

Disappointed to learn today that even the basic predictive ovulation days are now behind a sub. Also miss the fertility window as having "possible fertile day" appear every day is not informative or helpful, it just seems liability insurance. As a brand that's been so vocal about empowering women, it feels very manipulative to slowly chip away the features that make this app of any use. I don't mind paying for apps, but don't appreciate being forced into it. I would have expected a choice Clue!

  8. Jana Leim-avatar

    Jana Leim

It seems I'm one of the 'lucky' ones with the "updating... Almost done!" bug. That aside, I used to love this app, but I've been growing more and more indifferent to it, as, like many others have indicated, it has lost some features and put a lot of them behind a monthly (why?) paywall. I can't see how that business decision would pay off, as I'm going to look for another app as well, it's honestly less hassle than trying to reach out to your customer service and hope for a reply.

  9. Moira Reilly-avatar

Clue has been a fantastic tool for me for many years now, and it's generally very good. There was a little blip when I went to to open the app and a screen popped up saying "Updating... Almost Done", but the update never seemed to finish. I contacted support and review team who helpfully replied after a few days, suggesting to uninstall and reinstall, which I was apprehensive to do, but thankfully it worked and I didn't lose all my data.

  10. Kaye Bohémier-avatar

I used to really love this app. Years ago, it was the only period app that seemed to focus on science and not on flowers and fertility, which was a welcome relief. I also liked that they were using women's data to further period science and learn more about women's cycles. Over the years, they added additional features like the ability to share your data with someone else. I found this very helpful, as having easy info about my partner's cycle can help me be there for her. Over the years, they went from showcasing that feature to making it a huge pain to locate every time I want to see it (I swear its place in the menus moves), and my last straw was them removing the ovulation stuff. I have ovulation pain and bleeding, and while this isn't so important now during the pandemic, ordinarily, I like being alerted so I know that I need to check and make sure I have liners in my bag when the blood starts. I've since started using another app and will be deleting Clue once I have enough data in the new one. I never paid for premium, though, because I would need to know more about the company's values, whether they are donating to women's health initiatives worldwide and so on (and updates on how they're using the data to help women), and I would want to be able to accept/reject parts of the data agreement. Other menstruation-related companies I pay (like Cora) send periodic information about the impact my subscription is having, and I really like that.

I have to pay a subscription to tell this app the reason I haven't had a period is because I'm pregnant. That's ridiculous. I don't care about the pregnancy monitoring, but it's a really poor "feature" to lock the ability to even tell the app behind a paywall. It's also incredibly disappointing that the company is just copy-pasting generic responses to reviews even when they're clearly irrelevant, and then ignoring all the other low star reviews. This app had gotten worse every year. Use Flo.

Good for being able to track what my cycles have been like before and helps me know my cycle more.i have irregular periods so it's great for me to be able to look back and see what it's been like and it gives me rough idea of when my periods will be.i don't have clue plus so idk if there are features that tell you an estimate about what symptoms to expect or what heaviness you might get and some more info on how to deal with periods and so on. In the tracker thing there aren't enough options

  13. Heather Marie Wagstaff-avatar

The paywall that was recently implemented is way too expensive. A one off purchase would be fine but the price is way too steep. Edit: now the push notifications have stopped working even though they're enabled. I'm tired of this app at this point.

  14. Sarah Goebler-avatar

    Sarah Goebler

I've been using this app for years, I love the gender neutral interface. It's been great for me and I won't be going to a different app. The reason I'm writing a review is because they recently took down the fertile window feature. When I was younger it was an interesting way to learn more about my body, but now as a person trying to get pregnant, it's frustrating to have that removed. Please bring it back with an acknowledgement box that clue is not intended as birth control.

I have tried a lot of application for period tracking and this app is definitely one of the best. Good understandable interface, useful notification settings. Yes, banner with premium membership promotion is everywhere, but it is the only problem and definitely not big one. Me and my girlfriend are trying to use one account on two devices, and this application not works properly in this case. Unfortunately

  16. Rebecca H-avatar

    Rebecca H

The app was fantastic when I started to use it, but the ability to easily see symptom trends and predictions got pushed to the subscription at some point. I'd be willing to pay a one time fee for the app for some of the tools, but cannot justify a subscription service for the ones I used. I moved to Clue because it had more features than the tracker I previously had (and paid a flat fee for Pro use), but now Clue's non-sub offers a bit less (other had trends but interface wasn't as nice)

  17. Ana Almeida-avatar

It's an amazing app. It helps me track everything: how much I bleed, if I had cramps or tender breasts, if I took the pill or went to a doctor appointment, when I had sex (I can even select if it was protected or unprotected). It also helps you predict when your next 3 cycles are going to start. It's perfect for all women who menstruate. Above all, if offers a wide range of texts explaining very different subjects, from contraception to pregnancy, and much more. I highly recommend this app!

  18. Amanda Tatara-avatar

    Amanda Tatara

I first downloaded Clue because I saw people talking about how it was a gender-neutral option for menstrual tracking. I like the clean and easy to use interface, the wide selection of tracking options (including the option to turn off tracking things like ovulation), and the inclusive language. What would make Clue even better for me would be a way to turn off/alter the pop-ups that say things like 'science is sexy' or, as a newsletter I just got from them was titled 'What's up with pulling out?' As someone who is a sex-repulsed asexual and has trauma related to sex, I'd like to have options to avoid sex-related topics and sex-favorable language (I'm fine with sex-positivity, just don't want it near me) without unsubscribing or turning off articles/post notifications entirely.

It's a little frustrating, as I was using this to track my ovulation to try to get pregnant, since they have changed it o cannot get an estimated ovulation day, even when I tick the 'show estimated ovulation day' in settings. It was a 4.5 star app before that.

  20. Sabrina Hashimoto-avatar

    Sabrina Hashimoto

At first I loved this app. It had everything I needed, but over time everything I used got placed behind the paywall subscription. I used to track my ovulation with this, and now that isn't even visible anymore without paying. All it does is track and predict my bleed time. I'd maybe buy the app, but I won't subscribe. I have to subscribe to too many things already and this just isn't a priority for it. I will have to look elsewhere to track my ovulation.

i have been using this app since 2017 i think, and it has been very useful. lots of times, the prediction of my next period is on point. but i just noticed when i was going to track my next period this month, i suddenly can't use the app anymore. it just says "updating... almost done!" for a couple of days already.. please fix the app because this app is very important for me🥺 i will change the app review to 5 stars once the app is fixed, thankyou.

Very accessible and aesthetically appealing app to navigate. Is more-or-less adjustable to personal preference, but could use some tweaks to be extra specific for people (Ex. Does not include strength training for exercise options). Tags in each section (exercise, motivation, productivity, pain, etc. would be really beneficial!) Nevertheless, BEST app I've used for period tracking thus far!

  23. Melissa Smith-avatar

After the crashing issue was "fixed" for androids, I can no longer log into the app. It appears that all my data is lost, like several others have said. I have contacted Clue support but have yet to receive a response. After using this app for years it looks like I have to start over and if I have to do that it won't be with Clue.

  24. Alexandra Viscosi-avatar

The app notifications don't work unless I open the app, which makes it pretty useless. I've downloaded other apps and they work (yes I know how to ensure the pops aren't blocked and they wouldn't pop up ever if there was a phone issue) and had no trouble with the app previously (stopped using while I was pregnant). I want to keep using this app because of history but if it isn't fixed I'll be forced to use something else. If there's a special trick, please let me know.

Loved this app, however since the new update and the removal of the fertile window and the ovulation day not working. I have been working with support to get this issue fixed and even they are stumped as to why I don't see the ovulation day on my cycle. I am using this app to track period as well as ovulation to conceive, however I feel more lost and less informed about my cycles than ever before. Considering stopping subscription due to this new update if support team can't fix the issue.

The icon is beautiful and easy to find amongst my other apps. Just having a safe place to track my cycle has changed the way I feel about my periods in the past year I've used this app. It's super helpful and pleasant to use.

I've used this app for years now. Sadly it's a bit glitchy, pushes for me to subscribe to Clue Plus way too often (I was a member but didn't renew after it kept crashing) and for some reason they changed the cycle graphic so it's not as easy to follow now. It used to be great but sadly just seems to have got worse not better...

The one feature that I still wish they would add is the ability to add notes. Yes, there are "tags," but that's not the same as being able to write actual notes about abnormalities and whatnot. One bug(?) I've just discovered on this cycle is that longer periods don't seem to get diagrammed properly. My period has stretched for over 9 days now, but according to the app it ended days ago!

  29. Kira Marie-avatar

I'm so salty that they removed the fertile window. It helped me get an idea on when i would most likely be ovulating. So i would then know how to plan sex accordingly. It literally has messed up my sex life by removing it. I feel blind now not having an estimate on my predicted ovulation. I no longer have any use for the app. I used to love it and used it for about 2½ years but now it doesnt serve a purpose to me. Truly disappointing i have deleted in search of a better app. No excuses clue.

This is a fantastic period tracker. I'm glad they got rid of the fertility window as that is too much . My periods can be irratic .. this app does help with the tracking and predictions. There is lots other stuff to use . Any way... Been using this app for years .. and it's been helpful with what I need to pack for work and other weird stuff our periods effect

This app had optimum amount of features in the free version. Now with the new update they not only removed the fertile window prediction but also removed it from tracking options. Prediction was nice but free tracking would have been really helpful. Also, I could never get their notifications right. Isn't that one of the main features.

  32. siantjie-avatar

I tracked my cycle on Clue for 2 years & found it very accurate, the fertility window even helped us conceive the first time we tried! Unfortunately I couldn't log my pregnancy, so now my cycle algorithms are innacurate. The subscription info isnt particularly insightful & I'm so dissapointed that the fertility window has been removed. Could this be returned as an option for women who want it? I believe in Clue's philosophies & want to keep the app but it no longer feels relevant or accurate.

  33. Mili-avatar

Amazing app. Very simple and easy to personalize. Has helped me understand my cycle much better. I really enjoy this serious scientific approach, it has definitely made me feel less in "the realm of my hormones" and more aware and in control. I wish I had the budget to buy the full version but as I am a student, I appreciate the no add policy :)

  34. Channel settings-avatar

If you've got your period every month and you're not on the pill, it doesn't warn you when you didn't get it for over two months. Whatever you're recording, it doesn't warn you about anything. Not about possible health issues, nor about pregnancies or anything else. The forecast is never accurate if you haven't got a perfect cycle. They just want to get all your data and want you to get the full version all the time. Question: why should I pay for the full version if this one doesn't even work?

  35. Gillian O'Brien-avatar

I loved the app when i first started using it to predict my period (which is irregular) and also my PMS. Then i was using it as a second info source for my fertile window in our attempt to get pregnant. I understand the thinking to remove this to prevent misuse as contraception but the potential ovulation feature is not as helpful for trying to conceive so i'll prob stop using my previously favourite cycle tracking app. For me the change has reduced audience for the app not widened it.

I have used this App for years and it has been very helpful for me . With it I was able to figure out that I have PSDD. But like others have said a lot has been changed and its no longer as helpful as it once was. The fertile window and ovulation information has been removed and that has introduced significant blind spots.

  37. Zyanya O'Neill-avatar

I started using this app some 3 years ago and it was perfect. Now everything is behind a paywall or taken away by "having been improved because not everyone needs it". No, I don't want kids. Yes, I'd like to track my birth control methods. Yes, I still need to know my expected ovulation and PMS because it helps me track hormonal spikes to keep my epilepsy in check. Another service affected by "wokeness".

  38. Courtney Paris-avatar

I have been using this app for 5+ years and up until recently I had enjoyed its features. I have tried a paid subscription before but I feel the information received upon payment isn't anymore helpful or insightful than the unpaid - especially now, with the removal of the fertility window. I use this app to track my patterns, sure, but I feel more (useful) information should be provided than what is. The app is good for broad tracking purposes but not so much if you're looking for explanation.

As many others said. I've been using Clue for years and I hate that the fertile prediction window is gone. I do not believe that it was removed to provide better quality of information (the response Clue keeps giving people). This feature was very helpful for me and it seems many others. Unfortunately, I will be in search for another period tracker app because of this. At least give the option for people to use that feature or not. And Clue, please do not respond w/ that generic comment. Thank u

I really like Clue, and I love all the different tracking options. However, I wish there were more options within each category: right now there are only 4 per category. For example, the mood tracker only lets you choose between happy, sad, sensitive and PMS. More options, please!

The fact that we have to pay a premium price for knowledge and more info about our period is ridiculous. Like bruh really, I might as well look it up on google. What does it benefit us to pay for some information that should be free, it's bad enough we gotta pay for products every month. But now you want money for some info. Lmfao that's crazy.

I'm very upset that I have to start over. I've been using this app for years because its more accurate compared to the other period tracking apps that I've used. A couple days ago I went into the app to get a general idea of when my period was going to start, but the app wouldn't open. It was updated, I force closed the app but the app still wouldn't open so I unitalled and reinstalled it to all of my information that I've logged over the years being gone.

What used to make the app special, is now behind a paywall. If anyone here has Samsung health, it has a period tracker that is essentially the same as what this app has become. I'd recommend that unless you're willing to pay for features that were previously free.

It's a great app! Clue has helped me track all of my menstrual cycles. But recently, I had something very suspicious happen. So yesterday when I checked the clue app it said period starts tomorrow and I was having period symptoms. Cravings, headaches, etc. And it said my cycle was 29 days, and the period length is 6 days (which mine is). And when I woke up this morning, no blood. I was like huh? So I checked the clue app and it has switched to tomorrow, does the clue app do this? Please reply!

Don't ever use this app. My records were there a few weeks but because I never update the symptoms I was having , everything was gone. And I was having irregular period at that time and everything is gone just like that. Now I can't recall on when was my last period becuz it erased everything

Woefully incomplete. Although this app is generally well put together, it only offers two possible "life stages": menstruating, and pregnant. For a woman entering perimenopause, there is nothing. Period tracking is important at this stage too, to understand the changes taking place in your body. Perimenopause is a significant "life stage," but Clue renders it nonexistent and tries to force users into presuming a regular cycle when that is anything but true. Quit making me feel invisible!

I used this app for years with no problems but the last few months, I have been having problems opening the app. I was only able to after the company gave a new update last month but I'm having the same issue now. Edit: As I have not been able to open the app properly for months now, I have decided to migrate to another period tracking app. It really sucks that I have to resort to this because I have five years of data stored on Clue but I really have no other choice.

Its pretty convenient. I wasn't wanting to use a period tracking app for privacy reasons, but from what I know the data isn't being distributed to third parties. Its actually really useful, because the data can be printed and provided to the doctor. Or just makes it easier to calculate averages for medical purposes. In the end I actually really enjoy using it. & It has been super useful.

I love this app over all! Its great for daily tracking or even just tracking your period or fertile predictions. I only wish that there was an option to under birth control to choose sterilization or sterile as I am sterile and there is no period tracker out there that has that as an option for sterilization under birth control so I feel like that would really set the bar for other tracker apps

No longer glitches, but missing key info. Where is the sleep tracking in the analysis? Doesn't Clue realize that lack of sleep can cause your body stress and thus interrupt what may be a normal cycle? Sleep tracking should be part of the analysis. Please return sleep quality/time to the analytics portion of the app.

I love the app, but I am getting the message "Updating... Almost done!" since yesterday. Can someone from the company inform the customers what's happening? I just signed up for premium to support the app and I am feeling very disappointed...

  53. yuon mi-avatar

    yuon mi

can't open the app. "updating..almost done" since last update. upd. contacted the support and could reinstall the app, now everything works. would be nice if weight data could be shown in some kind of graph with the cycle. also would be great when entering the weight you wouldn't need to delete zeroes.

  54. amber-avatar

Great app but every time the clocks go back or forward my pill reminder does not stay the same. For example my reminder is at 7pm and now that the clocks have changed it reminds me at 8pm despite the reminder in the app still saying 7. Not the biggest problem and overall a fantastic app but definitely slightly annoying.

  55. Becky Breeden-West-avatar

    Becky Breeden-West

Clear and concise app that helps track many different elements of periods and explains each symptom well. I have an implant but it still predicts cycles very accurately. My only gripe is that it doesn't have enough emotional descriptions to define how you're feeling which would be helpful from a depression point of view. Haven't got clue plus and find it functions fine without it, just wish I could afford it to support its creators.

  56. Elle Woodley-avatar

    Elle Woodley

Update - used to love this app, have used it for years, but now they've taken the ovulation dates off unless you pay for the upgrade. Absolutely ridiculous and unfair so I have purposefully paid for a different app as I feel they have taken something away to force you to pay for their app.

  57. Ro Lewin-avatar

    Ro Lewin

So far so good. Algorithm is a few days off in predicting when I'll start bleeding but I might have enters details incorrectly at the start. I really only use as a period tracker recorder and it's great for that but I think there's more functions I'm not using. The entries you can make are good to see if there's any patterns in your cycle but I would recommend making more options as well.

  58. Krista Rhodes-avatar

I really love this app for tracking and predicting my period. I wish there was something between "free" and "all the money." I would happily commit $2-$3 / month for like one extra perk but $10/month when I'm already 98% happy with the app is a lot.

  59. Lauren Semple-avatar

Has this been fixed fully? I can sign in now but it seems to have lost a full month of my tracking and the app is very glitchy and non responsive now. All my medical tracking needs to be completely set up again from scratch. Was there a loss of data or functionality with this fix that users weren't made aware of?

  60. Becca Michelle-avatar

    Becca Michelle

The prediction algorithm is really good, but the reminders aren't. They don't send when you set them to, sometimes not even sending at all. As someone who needs a heads up for my pms, this is a definite problem.

Used to be very useful, now they removed all the useful features we all needed, like the fertile window and ovulation day. This is so upsetting because now I have to find another app that have this features and lose 5 years of data!!

  62. ami-avatar

Like many others, I am disappointed that they got rid of useful features like tracking your fertility window. To get features like these, you now have to subscribe.. which kinda puts me off. This app was amazing 3 years ago and I'm really sad at how it turned out.

I have been using Clue for several years now. It's more accurate than I could ever wish for. I have had lifelong irregular periods, and it accurately predicts the start of my period 99% of the time within a day. I love this app. I use the free version, and it's very good.

After the newest update, the app crashed. the unsuccessful update has been going on for hours. I have just lost over two years of data at a critical moment when trying to get doctor's appointment. And no i can't contact you from the app, bc it doesn't work.

Doesnt work. I was using this app to track cycle and symptoms. It wont even open anymore. Its literally useless. I appreciate their prompt response.

It worked well but just when I needed the info on my period the app just went "updating... almost done" and that's it, it doesn't change. I'd reinstall it but I don't remember if I had logged in so I don't lose my progress :(

I really love the app, I love the information they give us on our symptoms and how much we can track on it. It's also easy to use, it's not overwhelming when you look at it. It would be cool if it had birth control pill reminder though.

Getting a new app. Wanted to see fertile window, worked fine for years. Now it's gone, and with no explanation. Support just gives generic 'we did it to be helpful'...but it's clear many users don't want this feature gone. A shame, but i and others can find what we actually want elsewhere...

I've been using Clue since I got a smartphone. The UI is clean and clear to understand. The $10 (USD) a year subscription is absolutely worth it. I am a trans man, pre HRT, who has a very regular cycle. The gender-neutral language in the informational sections is a very nice touch.

This app does basically nothing. I opened the app to be told that it now doesn't even show you all the parts of your cycle in the free version because that was just removed. now you can do literally nothing but put in what your cycle is for free like it doesn't even have enough free features for you to see if you'd want to get premium or not. My advice skip this one all they want is money and it's a waste when plenty of other apps do this without premium.

Theres no option to set in period length and cycle length manual in profile that can check it when its late, theres just averag counting which every day says tomorrow is your period day, even if your period is late for 100 days its just show you will period tomorow. And theres no chart list to show your temp and your weight or your yearly period.
