The app is so glitchy it is hardly usable. I always struggle to import and publish panoramas. Even if the app doesn't crash midway, which happens regularly, photos may not actually get published, though it says they are. I have been trying for the past 20 minutes to publish 5 panoramas and I have not yet succeeded.

fails It's good enough for the Android who has Ram of 8 GB or more, if not you need to connect the camera. And Google really needs to work on this app. I have read many reviews that they doesn't like it all still I was not believing it until I tried it and yeah it really is not nice. How they are showing map first of all when you just open the app is kinda like a problem.

app They wanted to add many new accesses to update the app. Insurance company used incorrect info from this site to determine fault of accident of my friend. Utility company has been forced by CPCU to use this as an inspection tool of their facilities which will definitely result in problems. It is not just the app but includes governments and people and companies relying on tech. way way to soon, there is a Sci Fi book that warned us...

spiel [IMPORTANT BUG] Theres this problem on newer samsung phones, for example on my galaxy a40. When taking photo spheres, even if you hold the phone still, the picture slowly moves to the left by itself. I guess the software thinks you are moving your phone? So by the time you try to take a full 360 photo, every row of photos is offset by a lot from the previous. How do I know this is a software issue? Because the same thing happens on other galaxy a40s and works just fine on a galaxy a5 2017.

  8. Mia Gorceska-avatar

download It's useless for taking photospheres because when you're taking the pictures the preview slowly moves to the left away from the dots even tho im holding my phone in a still position. So the app thinks that every picture is in the right spot but in real life its completely offset from the previous. This is not a hardware issue as this problem appears in other phones. I thought this was gonna get fixed soon :(

handy I am facing the pictures gathering issues, I been using this app a long time before and have almost 215 photos with this and about 4.8 Million views, but now this is not working perfect with my Note 9, and camera keeps moving and in the end joining all the pictures make is mess.... Which should be improved

car StreetView is a great idea and I really appreciate the additional information you get in Google Maps. That's why I'd like to contribute to this service. Unfortinately my experience with the StreetView app was slighly frustrating. Firstly the StreetView App can't find my location even though Google Maps can.

  11. K V-avatar

More bugs in more Google apps that the company have no interest in fixing. What you see in street view is not what location you search for in Google maps including what is in street view is opposite address of what you search for, locations that are suburbs away etc etc. Google worth billions but years still not willing to spend money on fixing the many bugs. Failed 🤔

  12. CaidenTMG-avatar

Worst experience I've ever had with google. I could not easily move around in street view, no compass. I'd try to go down a street and I have to perfectly line it up otherwise I'd be like 500 feet away from where I meant to go. The old way of tapping to go there was way better than these weird blue lines that disallow movement.

  13. Jared Keeling-avatar

    Jared Keeling

This might work with external devices, but using mt phone has resulted in only 1 mildly acceptable photosphere. The first rotation looks great until the last photo is taken, at which time the final photo overlaps the first one and does not correlate to the same location.

  14. Richard Carlwick-avatar

    Richard Carlwick

After you upload a 360 to profile In the correct location you go to explore the blue circle showing your 360 on the map it's always miles away never in original upload location. You then go to edit location but it's in the correct location but showing miles away on explore. Bug filled mess of an app.

  15. Digital Naturalism Laboratories-avatar

Incredibly buggy app. I have tried it on 3 phones and with the Theta v which is it suppose to support above all other 360, and it can barely function. 3/4 of my mappings end up garbled by the app and unable to upload or be published. Could be great, but it sucks :(

I love exploring the world with this app. additional features that would make me happy: 1) ability to bookmark views that I like so that I can revisit, 2) display details of the location (link to wiki perhaps), 3) location labels like on google map (or maybe I'm dumb and dunno how to set this?) 4) a "back" button, because when I accidentally touched the screen, I couldn't go back to what I was looking at before, and it's impossible to find it again and I have missed it forever.

The various tabs at the bottom of the streetview window are distracting, disruptive, obtrusive and extremely annoying: Why does Google insist upon inflicting this unnecessary intrusion within a perfectly useful application. Obviously there are users that may welcome the features shown, but why is the choice to hide them either unavailable or so difficult to select.

  19. Jason Kotze-avatar

    Jason Kotze

This app constantly crashes and fails to upload photos. I am tired of constantly having to battle against this horrible and broken app to upload multiple 360 photos and will be looking for other mapping and 360 services that will allow me to upload.

I am trying to add more photo spheres and connect them manually, but the user interface is very complicated and makes no sense. I have imported the 70 360 photos/ they are for some reason divided into different groups. Why. I want to see all the photos I have uploaded in a list, with file names (so I know how to connect them). Also I have found no solution to connect them before publishing. I am able to publish only group-by-group, and not all at once. In conclusion: the photo sphere contribution feature is very complicated and a total mess UI wise. There should be a desktop solution to make virtual tours because it is very hard on a tablet/phone.

Once wonderful. Now broken. I'm using the same device as before. The same Samsung Gear for 360 pics as before. It won't even accept those taken using the App camera. But now it posts two pics when I upload one. Both of which are black when viewed. Neither of which is accepted. Always Map Rejected. I have over 150 spheres online and now I cannot load any whatsoever. Not only are my pics within specs required but I cannot even load previously published spheres that still exist online.

  23. Oliver Mills-avatar

My only real use of the Google Street View app, at present, is to submit my spherical panoramas, stiched and edited on my desktop computer, onto Google Maps. This has been done ever since Google disabled Street View submissions from desktop computers, a rather infuriating decision - not everyone uses mobile phones to take panoramas. Anyway, I attempted to take a few panoramas with the app and all have ended in spectacular failiure. It might be a hardware issue with my mobile phone (LG G4), but when taking the panorama, the alignment guides and the already-taken frames drift out of alignment. Eventually you will find that you have covered the full 360 degree rotation on the app, yet in reality you still have another 90 degrees to turn. Practically, this means that every frame is spread apart by a certain distance (albeit corrected in stitching), and a quarter of the panorama is missing! Attempts at covering the tiers above and below will intensify the horror, with one tier rotated 180 degrees from another. The stitching will not repair that, as you can imagine. Needless to say, this behaviour is intolerable and makes panorama-taking entirely impossible. I suspect that either the (very good) image stabilisation system in the camera, or the phone's gyroscopes are meddling with the app's operation. As for viewing panoramas, I noticed that the app had improved slightly since when I last used it for this purpose, with less intrusive "cards". It is still much easier on a desktop computer, however. The investigation into whether all phones are genuinely compatible with this app is required, because the LG G4 evidently is not! My old G3, with less hyperactive stabilisation, worked perfectly. It would also be nice to be able to submit my panoramas to Google Maps from my desktop again, instead of sending them to a comparitively inferior device. It seems logical, but I am probably pushing my luck with that.

This app used to be useful and connected well with Google Maps. It is now cluttered with unwanted photos and a "contribute" button that covers up what I am trying to see. It also keeps trying to access my camera while I am NOT at the place I am searching for. I liked it much better when it worked as a part of Google maps that you turned on only when you wanted it. I won't use this app again.

I am experiencing the same problem as many others. Using a Galaxy s20 plus and when trying to take a photosphere it constantly drifts. Even when I do not move the camera the app thinks I am. Makes it impossible to take a photosphere.

Whether it's a combination of updates or Android 10 being flaky, Street View is broken in Daydream now. The search flat-down does not work; it either ignores your input ("Please enter a search string" when you've typed in text) or tries to steer you to curated locations, mostly Disney ones. You can't put in a postcode or ZIP now and go to that location. In short, Street View does not give you street views.

  27. Un Om-avatar

It seems there is no way for a user to determine in which direction he/she is looking when viewing street imagery in the mobile app. I can't belive there is no compass indicating which way you are pointed at in the 360 view of streets. I always have to spend considerable amount of time inferring this information which makes the app beautifully useless compared to the browser version. Anyone from the app team listening!? Devs, management!? Seriously, no compass!?

Not a good experience for VR use. Search function almost useless using the Lenovo mirage headset. have to use the factory settings version for it to work. To say google and Lenovo worked together to develop the daydream headset I am very disappointed with googles app development and functionality. Google photos also suffers on the headset since updates and both have very little control offered to the user. Luckily there are other apps available to view my photos and videos in 360 or 180 degrees with user friendly controls. Made by people who actually care. Street view is ok on a phone but needs a lot more development to be useful as a VR app.

Selecting photos and publishing has been a pain. The app is glitchy. Shutting down and restarting the app rarely helps. I've just had two dozen of photos in taken in two hours but publishing even 5 of them has been taking longer than the time in taking the actual pictures. The notification bar hasn't helped as well, it looks like that the photo adding process is not finishing. Location/POI orientation is also unavailable. Please fix these dev. This app is not helping us as contributors. Cheers

It's not user friendly. When I want to scroll the bar to the place where I would like to view, it cannot gradually transit the view but suddenly goes a huge amount of distance, then suddenly changes the view. Thus, it wastes time for me to view the actual place. The idea of real-time view is great though.

I want to be involved, commit quality images and correct connections, but this app is the worst when it comes to reliability and stability. I used to like this app but I don't like the little figure and the top recommendation photos that appear. I've looked in the app settings and I've turned everything off and they're still there. I wouldn't mind if the photos appeared for a location that I am interested in, but the figure moves to random places when I move the map and the photo covers a good part of the screen so when i pan in, the photo obstructs part of the surrounding area which i wish to view. This app is no longer reliable on my Pixel or Pixel XL phone. When taking photospheres the view finder wanders making it impossible to take photospheres. Good: Free Bad: Unintuitive mess of an interface. Takes many many goes to upload a series of photospheres. Conflicting messages and a lack of progress indication makes it unclear whether a batch of uploads has succeeded, failed or is in the middle of taking place or which ones it has done and which ones it has randomly dropped. The shambolic uploading means that they do not arrive in consecutive order, making it a waste of time to start trying to connect them, and they are imperfectly positioned, which is at least manually adjustable. But this has to be done after they are already on public show. There is no option to publish and link photospheres for testing or private viewing, which is stupid as the first time you try it, and every time it messes up the uploading, your efforts are low-grade public content before you have even had a chance to edit them or improve your technique. The deal you make is that in return for the free app your pictures become content for Google, which is acceptable if free is the highest price you are willing to pay, but at least give us a chance to make the content as good as it can be before going live with it.

I eventually found a way round the perpetual crash of the app when uploading photospheres. Apparently the app couldn't handle photospheres at 27MP. I had to take shots at 15MP thereby reducing resolution. Hence, the 3 star rating. I still can't connect the app directly to my camera. I use a Kodak Pixpro Orbit 360 4K. This app is awful. I used it on an iPhone and it was pretty good occasionally with processing errors but that was rare with 100 plus photos published and 1m views i enjoyed using it. But now I'm on android not one single photo can be published.

Only used this app a few times, but I can tell already that it's useless. The Blue lines are faulty. Some of them are too close to each other and/or overlap, so you end up jumping to a different area continuously. Sometimes you jump to a different area when you haven't even touched a nearby line. And some lines don't even show the correct places. For example there's a line a quarter of a mile away from me which jumps to a street over a mile away when you follow it for a few metres. There's many more places on the app like that.

To be short and clear. There is a bug. App just can't connect to Google's server. I'm also having "no internet connection" problem and app keeps crashing when clicking "publish to Google maps" with null reference to virtual method. Fix this already or just give us some feedback google! It may sound like this app is useless but for little group of people like us who are complaining this app is quite useful and for some part of daily routine.

This app works great for making Google Photo Spheres (that upload to Google photos for your own storage). Aka you can take panorama pictures using this app alone on android

Many time black patch comes in final photo. While capturing, 360 degree of app completes though revolution of camera is not done 360 degree. That is, angle in YAW axis has some drift in clockwise direction. It was not happening in earlier versions.

You can literally search up anywhere and it comes up. Only problem is that the areas I search up haven't been updated in about 10-15 years.

Looks like there's some undocumented limitations on pic size. I had to downsiz my panos a bit before I could finally upload. That was painful since there's no indication of reason for upload failures. The app is not very stable. Any uploads I try to make would cause a crash after 3 or 4 pics. There's one obvious and annoying (although minor) bug: everytime you drag your profile to refresh, the stats are added to each other instead of resting, so your number of pics doubles each time 😑.

I used to love this app, but since the last update, it won't even load. It just says, "street view has stopped working". I've tried uninstalling, and reinstalling, but this hasn't helped. It's been like this for at least a couple of weeks. I'm using a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, but I see from the other reviews, it's an issue for several other models. Please fix this soon!

dude we are trusted photographer feel so bad with the apps now!!, 1. in ipad when we connected manualy the photosphere doesn't appear, how we edit that????? 2. switch to android device, we edit and connect manually in one time only suddenly they will never update anything such as how many viewers already saw our photosphere, 3. switch another android device, when we go to previous edited above (conected each photesphere), they come back to default wich is not connected each pano. this is crazy!

This app was working fine and now I see I'm not the only one having it say "No Internet connection, even when I have Wifi and Cellular internet connections. My services work off of being able to show people results and now I can't even do that! It doesn't even show any pictures at all! Just "no internet connection". I'm on a Note 8. like I said before it worked fine before with some bugs but now it doesn't work at all! Please address this issue because some of us are dependent upon the service!

It doesn't work. It doesn't update the search quickly at all. It takes about 15 to 20 seconds. When I type in the new search term it returns old search results. and finally and worst of all when I click on the location I want to view like Vancouver it doesn't work. nothing happens. I'm using a Google pixel 3 with the latest dream headset.

    a. Photospheres come out way better on iPhones. Then they do even on new Galaxys. b. Move and Connect (connecting photospheres at a location to enable walk around) does not work! It hasn't worked in a very long time. It used to work from my iPhone and now I can't get to to work anywhere. After setting everything up and connecting the right images users see the wrong arrows facing the wrong directions and it's a complete mess. Please fix this!

1 star simply because I am limited to what features are available for me to try. Currently I unable to take pics and I continuously get error message that reads "360 photo capture is not supported on this device." Uninstalling app now 0000 stars for my device! U suck, device!

nearly unusable, and doesnt allow you to input coordinates, only names of locations. downloaded this specifically to look at a set of coordinates, and though regular maps found it fine, street view was useless. honestly, it's total trash that we have to download maps, street view, and earth separately; they should all be under maps.

I used to be able to use Google Street View on my Samsung Galaxy tablet & recently after getting all the apps that came along with my tablet updated, it has now been discovered that street view has suddenly stopped working. Very disappointed by this & wonder how we can get street view to work again for me, as because it is very useful for my work. Stephen Acton.

Just Uodated to the latest version. Same problem. When capturing for some reason it messes up and only captures part of the entire 360 area. also cant publish the photo, it keeps crashing the app. i used this app multiple times a day and was almost perfect before i updated it. i had to log in on my iphone and upload the photo that way.

Great tool to utilize prior to traveling to any destination. Enables you to see the establishment & how the Parking lot is set up. Also shows all of the other Stores, Financial Institutions & even Gas Stations in the surrounding area - on your way there too!! 👍. The App. even offers Directions so you can see the easier way to get there and how long it takes. Big A++ from me!! ps. type in where you are

Used to be a good app. Can't get into street view and the screen is taken up by white bars which makes the map really small and hard to see. Shows "no internet connection" even though I clearly have an internet connection. Noticed others here with the same problem. Why did Google mess up a once great app?

Adding photospheres is a painful process and they don't always show up in the app after uploading. Had to dig into settings to find how to connect photospheres into a path. After multiple attempts the app clais this is done yet using Street View outside of the app shows otherwise. This would be a 1* review, but everything for viewing streets seems to work fine! The features unrelated to uploading and editing work well enough to bring the app up to 2*.
