Reviews From google play store

Unfortunately, I don't think I can recommend this app. 1). The app uses so much battery it's absurd. Maybe it's a problem with my phone, but watching a 1080 60fps video on Youtube uses less than HALF the battery of this app. 2). The app crashes constantly and it's totally random what seems to cause it. 3). Randomly pauses constantly. 4). Doesn't seems to remember where you last left off of you're playing a downloaded episode. 5). Overall very slow and struggles to perform any function.

Updated review. I have had this app for a while and it is pretty great. My only thing is it quits out all the time. Alarm goes off, turns off. Get a phone call and ignore it, turns off. The worst is it will turn off randomly. No rhym or reason, just turns off. Very annoying when you are cooking and have to wash you hands to open this app.

Has a lot of problems working with Google home. The sound will suddenly start playing on my phone and the Google home speakers, and they won't even be in sync. There is a large delay using any controls, like pause/play and skipping ahead, etc. If I get a call while casting on Google home, everything gets messed up. Also, can't control the volume of the Google home speakers from you phone, which is frustrating. If you're not using Google home, the app works fine.

Great for listening to podcasts, but the ads are full videos and, if you are like me and listen to them while you work, it will demolish your data as the ads refresh every few minutes even if the back light is off. It used half a gigabyte of data in the last two weeks along. I have gotten Spotify instead to play my podcasts now due to this problem.

Very good app. My only issue is when I subscribe to a podcast I get a pop up and I always set it to not automatically download new episodes and then it goes and downloads the newest episode. Can anyone tell me why this keeps happening? I can't find a master settings to change. Updates my review to five stars because my issue has been fixed. Love the app!

Changing my review again. Wasnt able to listen for over a week. And it now seems that the app will just play whatever episode it chooses to play. It is finally moving onto the next episode, but the next episode could be five down the line, or 38 EPISODES DOWN THE LINE. I am happy to have it move on to other episodes but a little bit less random would be nice.

In general I like the layout of Castbox. However, I can no longer find the Delete button used to delete all the podcasts that I have highlighted. Also, I have never been able to get the option to work that automatically deletes an old podcast episode when a new episode has been downloaded. Instead, i have to delete old episodes by hand.

I must change my review FOR THE THIRD TIME and remove yet another star. I don't think I've ever given anything one star before, but Castbox has found even more creative ways to descend into unusability with its nakedly deceitful and shifting UI. Initial impression was positive, but the more it's used, the more it vexes the user. Although its presentation appears thought out, this is yet another ruse to trick you into clicking on one of their ads instead of one of your casts. Stop it.

In the last week the app has suddenly taken to opening itself in the background and playing from whichever episode I last played. I then go to shut the app and it doesn't show as being open on my phone. Even force stopping it does not help. I loved the app up until this started happening. If I can't get it to stop I will have to uninstall.

Edited and lowered because recent updates made this app really buggy. 1. When cast to a chromecast audio device stream gets out of sync and uncontrollable. It's related to the Castbox's video/image ads, because it wasn't an issue before. 2. Pre-Downloaded shows were not playing from the downloaded file. Show was downloaded, but was being streamed with my mobile data anyway. Controls and organization are good, but until the above are fixed, I can't recommend.

I like it in most of the time but it can be a pain to download episodes. If you leave the page showing the download, it seems to immediately pause it. It seemed I can't do anything else until they are done downloading. UPDATE: they claimed to have fixed it but problems persist. Can't go to another app poor it will permanently pause download. It still can't handle being told to download more than one or two episodes. Uninstalled and reinstalled and still have these problems. This app is garbage.

Ads have become too much. Switching between feeds has a pop up that goes full screen. App also "glitches" the audio which causes a rewind or fast forward for roughly 30 seconds. RSS feeds that have updated requires you to manually unsubscribe then resubscribe to the same podcast to keep the feed fresh. This app use to be solid, reliable, and with managable ads. Now it's just annoying and broken.

Recent updates means HUGE ADS all over your screen, its a little slow now and still has bugs such as saying it needs to connect to the net to play episodes it has already downloaded. Sometimes gets stuck in your notification bar too. Edit: I'm uninstalling. I need to find an alternative player, 'downloaded' podcasts keep requiring download again and so stop part way through listening :(

One of the very best podcast/vodcast apps. While attempting to shoot a video, I figured out a minor glitch. When sorted newest to oldest and setting bottom to top play, Castbox doesn't play the next episode properly if playing audio while changing the settings (on Android). Stop all audio, change settings, then restart audio ensures the changes work correctly.

Really good podcast app with very good features, including auto download and set play order. I also really like the fact that when you go to a specific podcast list it shows the play button for where you left off. One downside is that some features are somewhat unstable, such as the remote control and screen lock window.

Found you folks once I had decided to check out these podcast thingies. I've been listening to OTR radio broadcasts from way back for a few years now, thought I might find some worthwhile things here. Google Play Store said I would, and one thing led to a dozen others. Hard to decide what hundred things to listen to next. And while I'm trying to decide, I find another couple of dozen things to listen to first. Thanks for making that part so difficult and the listening so easy.

This app sucks up all my data. The thing is, it is random. I download ALL my podcasts at home on my wifi and listen to ONLY the podcast that have been downloaded. Right now I have used 1.67 of my data and 1.15 has been used on this app. Last month I did the same thing and this app barely used anything. I'm uninstalling this app and going to try another. ☹️

I absolutley love the app but some of my podcasts stop randomly. It doesn't happen as much as it used to, but it still does occur. I also have another improvement that i think would be great for the app. I wish i could select a certain time limit, and only the podcasts that are within that range will show.

The app is nice EXCEPT it'll stop playing for no reason and not once but several times throughout an episode. I don't understand why and had many tech friends check my phone and connection with different bluetooth players. It's starting to become irritating please correct the issue. I really don't want another podcast player but will change just to have nonstop listening enjoyment.

Found pretty much every podcast I've looked for. Sometimes the tabs that tally unheard new podcast will bug an add like 15+ on all cast. That said I doubt it merits a lower rating than 5. 10/10 I'm able to listen to what I want without it killing my batterie or interrupting other applications. I like this applications for podcasts. Side notes are that the ads after clicking on a show is new to me.

By far the best podcast app that I have found. An extensive library of available podcasts, stable on both Android and the desktop, easy access to public domain audiobooks, playlist functionality, lots of ways to control audio playback, tags to organize library, and ad-free with a low-price premium subscription. The app runs a bit slower than its competitors, but it's a lot more powerful.

Suggestion: merge Library & Download views. They're essentially identical, except offline you must navigate to Downloads (extra step= annoying) which lacks full episode list. This lack of overview is frustrating. Why not a single interface with all episodes, if one's not downloaded, grey it out ? Yes, it'd use storage, so set cache limit option in settings. Also, Downloads has grey bar above each podcast with date, yet each podcast also states date. Duplication & messy interface.

I'm totally fed up with the Next Up playlist. It lists podcast episodes from newest to oldest and so plays them backwards. If you play the first episode of a podcast, it just ends without continuing to play the subsequent episodes. Pointless. It doesn't matter how you have ordered them on the podcast's homepage, it still only plays newest to oldest. I don't want to have to reorder manually or create my own playlist out of every podcast, just so I can hear the episodes in the right order.

App I great for episodes but constantly stops when other apps are opened even when said apps have sound turned off. Also, episodes just stop randomly even without opening up other apps. I naively thought it was due to phones I had but now on a fourth phone (not because of this app) I realize it is just poor. I suppose this is a big reason why nobody ever advertises for this app on their podcasts

Awful app. Constantly stops playing while listening to a podcast. Also will randomly keep playing when you unplug from aux. Would give 0 stars if I could. Ads are more intrusive than on youtube. Edit: followed the trouble shooting and problems still persist. Absolute garbage app. Do yourself a favor and dont install this app. Put these scrubs out of business!!! Edit 2: Castbox, will you please publicly share with me how you plan to make things "Right and better"? You respond to everyone this way

On the whole not a terrible app just a couple of major issues which prevent its use as my daily podcast player. 1) There doesn't seem to be any 'continuous playback' option to binge/catch-up on a podcast 2) If I try to work around the above issue by creating a playlist it doesn't work either. If I multi select episodes and add them to a playlist they seem to be added in some weird random order with no way to sort them by air date.

I want a refund. This app messes with my Google Play Music app. It populates my Recents section in Google Play Music with all the podcasts I listen to. I called Google and they don't know why that would happen and contacting Castbox is a joke. They respond like they don't understand what I'm explaining. That is poor support/customer service.

I was just recently introduced to this player and love it. It continues playing even if I accidently close all apps. It has all my podcasts including ones my other player couldn't find. It is a lot easier to make playlists than the last player I used and it makes it simple to see new uploads from my subscriptions

Used to be 3 star but is now 2 because before it used to only crash. Now it crashes (could be using wifi or data, dont matter) on my Galaxy S9, and also it randompy pauses while the screen is turned off and then goes back as soon as I turn the screen on. Super weird and can't seem to see why it happens.

Used to use the old purple app and now this one years later. Had a problem with the premium as paid for ad free on the purple one, customer service helped me transfer it really easy. Easy to download podcasts & add to playlists (more than 1 if you like). You can set different settings per podcast eg auto-download, auto-delete etc. Easy to use, lots of options. Love this app. Would recommend.

So far I have zero complaints about this app. Been using it for a few months now and I don't have any intention to look for some other similar app. The app does a perfect job as a podcast player, collections are varied and always updated👍🏻 Do keep a good work!

Great, great and great. It has a lot more settings available to customize your experience (even in the free version) than most others I've tried. It would be nice to have website of podcast available, even if not in the show information.

Great assortment of podcasts. All the big hitters and plenty of smaller podcasts. Have had issues with crashes and casts pausing during streaming while my internet is running smoothly. The UI is not bad at all, but a few small hiccups. Nothing to worry about too much.

Good when it works, but at times it will stop playing when the screen locks, then continue playing once the screen unlocks. This is on an S10, you'd think they'd have most of the bugs worked out for this device.

Best free podcast app I've used. There are adds shown while your podcast is playing, doesn't disturb what your listening to, and some short 5 second adds before choosing your podcast but they have to make money too. Compared to other free players this is by far my favorite.

Pretty good app that I would continue to use if only it would work with the commands on my Bluetooth headset. The play/pause function doesn't work let alone rewind or fast forward. Because of that I don't use it.

So far I've been very happy with this app. Update, I have thoroughly enjoyed this app. Excellent shows to choose from without the censoring that You Tube has been doing to all of my favorite podcasts. Thank you very much!

This is a great app. When you download it, besure to go to the main settings before you subsribe to any of the shows and turn off the downloading. The default is 3 and you grab 10 shows and then its Adios' Storage space and if your on a limited data plan. Adios' Data for the month...

So many good features, however since recent update the playback icon has disappeared so cannot pause/forward without opening app...used to happen occasionally before but could be rectified by amending settings, however not possible anymore!pleae fix

Castbox has been great! I've covered what, 140 hours of the Dan Bongino podcast by now? Add in tons of Cisco Talos, and the ever smooth Mike Rowe. I love the UI and features in castbox, it's easy and a great app!

Previously, I've been really pleased with this app, however for the past few months it randomly stops playing part way through a podcast which is really annoying.

Used to be my go-to podcast app. Ads are ridiculous now. Full screen display ads, and worse yet, video ads that play randomly in the middle of a cast. I'm out.

Huge variety of podcasts, extremely easy to navigate! Have been using this app for about 4 years now. Love it and have no want to try anything else.

This has quickly become one of my favorite apps and one of the few I keep on my phone. The layout and interface is super easy to use and navigate. Have already recommended to family and friends.

Downloaded podcasts no longer display images or names, only the number of episodes. Makes it impossible to navigate. Also, the ads are intentionally designed to trick you to click on them.

There are lots of options to listen to your favorite podcast, but Castbox is the one for me! Very nice layout and feature rich app! Great work!!

Recent updates have made the app a battery drain and has started using a lot of data for ads. I've been averaging 100mb a day for ads. Way too much with limited data.

The app was good, simple to use and had good functionality. However, for some unknown reason when I connect my headphones to my phone, even with the app completely closed and even 'force stopped' through the settings menu, the app will randomly start playing a podcast from my download list. It would do this when i was in the middle of a video on youtube or playing a game, even when i was making a call. Had to delete the app to make these interruptions stop and now cannot use it. Disappointing.

Simple, intuitive interface makes it simple to quickly get to the podcast I want to listen to on either the phone or Android auto.

Good UI, plain and simple. Does what it says. Love it. Please add a feature to play podcast from notification itself. A mini player in notification.

I made the mistake of updating this app and the amount of ads has at least tripled and now are video and autoplay as well. I would have recommended this in the past but am now going to look for a different player due to the insane amount of ads. I realize it is free and am totally fine with some ads but recently they are so intrusive and annoying that this app needs to be replaced in my library.

Very intuitive app. Best one out of the 5 I've tried. So far no random stops like Google podcasts. Love it! Keep it up!

Really good app, after using for like 2 months I uninstalled it cause of space issues, but never have i ever felt the need to install an app back, I really enjoy using this !

Way too many ads placed way too prominently for podcasts I would never listen to, but that's not the biggest problem. The biggest problem is that somehow the app continues to use mobile data to stream podcasts, even though I have all mobile usage turned off in the settings. It's absurd to have a setting to disable mobile usage and then let the app ignore it.

Love the app. Podcasts from all over the world in your library. Comfortable menu. Easy to use and no unneeded panels or info. Love the app

I used this app for well over a year and it was great. Recently, I click on pod casts that I listen to almost daily and it says it cannot play due to a broken source. I've deleted the app and reinstalled and still the same issue with multiple podcasts. Unfortunately I will be on the hunt for another provider because this has been going on for almost 2 weeks now

I used to love this app. I used it for a long time and had no problems. Recently, however, it's unusable. I can't get an episode to play for more than 10 seconds before it stops by itself. I hit play. Listen for 10 seconds. It stops. I've done everything recommended by the developer in forums and on other's comments. Still doesn't fix the problem. Sorry, Castbox, I can't deal with the frustration anymore.

Unfortunately the recent update must have broke something because the app no longer keeps my place if i don't finish an entire episode. Extremely annoying and there don't seem to be any better alternatives

I love Dr. Laura & other podcast to listen on here, so many varieties of people, no buffering, it's an awesome free app. I'm thankful for this Castbox app!

If you don't mind your podcast player completely packed with ads nearly to the point it's inoperable, this is the player for you.

The selection of podcasts is great!! Deep and broad giving you a myriad of topics to choose from and enjoy. We used it while driving across country and it kept us going. Why just three stars? - It keeps auto downloading podcasts even after I set the account settings to not auto-download. - It continues to give me notifications even after I set no notifications in the app. I shouldn't need to block notifications on the app because it doesn't want to save my preferences. - Finally and most annoying, it auto launches when I connect a bluetooth device. Car, Headphones, Earpiece, Speakers. I've gone into all the settings and the only way to prevent this from happening is to uninstall the app....Done

Stuff to like, stuff to improve. I like the continuous playback (wish for an off/on option). The playlist feature doesn't make sense to me for podcast format; I'd rather have the ability to queue items. It's a decent app, but it frustrates me. If it is paused or stopped, it has a startling and semi-consistent habit of turning itself back on after a seemingly random amount of time. Occasionally it just skips around or ends the podcast abruptly, advancing to the next episode. The free version ads are annoying, obtrusive and frequent. If things were improved, I would consider paying for a one-time purchase, but I could never consider a recurring fee for it as a service.

I'd give 5 stars based on my previous months of experience with this app, however the past month or so has been less than stellar. My podcasts used to update automatically when a new episode would drop, now I have to refresh and refresh some more before episodes will show up as available. Today, numerous episodes from different podcasts will not play due to a "broken source." One episode giving this message is one I had started yesterday with no issues and now will not play.

I have enjoyed this app for a good while but now I am having problems. I kept a downloaded playlist of mixed podcasts which I listened to one after another overnight, adding and subtracting podcasts the next day. When one podcast ended it would play the next and so on. Recently it has started playing the first chosen podcast and then stops, which is extremely frustrating. Note This issue was sorted ages ago now and I've been enjoying the app every day since then. It's very good!

Real review. Great app to use and find all kinds of good listening stuff BUT sometimes it will just stop and you have to open your phone to make it play again and sometimes pause and play it or clean the catch. Fix this and it would be 5 stars. Read reply it fixed it thanks so much. My girlfriend had the same issue. You should program a troubleshoot or a link to this fix because its common. Three to five star 🌟 is on the way lets improove the app.

an amazing app... until i updated. now it stops constantly. i tried changing settings as directed- no help at all. pretty clear that it's the new ~visual ads~ interfering with an ~audio~ app. am going to find another podcast app. edit: if i immediately close the app on the screen once i get my podcast playing, before the visual ads start playing, everything runs smoothly, so i have upped my rating.

This app has some great functionality, but lately it's been eating a ton of mobile data. It's somehow used 100MB this month despite all my settings restricting streaming over data. I'm sitting on a train right now watching my data counter tick up while doing nothing but listening to an episode I supposedly already downloaded. This might have something to do with all the video ads I've been seeing lately. I pay per GB for data, so this is pretty annoying.

TLDR: Doesn't play DOWNLOADED Podcasts. What a joke. Unfortunately, I downloaded the app to download and listen to 1 podcast series. It cannot seem to play downloaded content after about 10 minutes away from my wifi. I have all Mobile data capabilities and the network signal ia strong, but regardless the f***ing podcast is shown as completely downloaded. This is inexcusable! Also the app while failing to play will not allow ypu to "swipe up" the podcast you're playing.

many many features and options this app has. one flaw, even after reinstalls, is that, often, the podcast that you are playing, goes into hiding and you can not see the banner down the bottom so when u want to stop or forward etc, you have to go back to the main menu to refind the podcast audio that is playing. very good interface overall. have tried many podcast apps, seems to be the most robust and also seems to have all podcasts imaginable listed from australia and united states.

I've used this app for years and it's been the best podcast app I've ever had. I've tried just about every app out there and it's bar none, the best there is. Until now... Sadly, the ads have become too much for me to deal with. If there was a one-time payment option, I'd do it without question, but I'm not doing a subscription when there are other options out there, even if I do love Castbox. Guess this is goodbye, it's been real Castbox ✌🏻

Works well, EXCEPT WHEN YOU NEED IT THE MOST, at 36,000 ft on an airplane. Even when U download multiple podcasts at the boarding gate. Without an internet connection you cannot access the podcast. Just the circle of wait giving you the middle finger. Back at the next airport when you get an internet connection yes I see all those green check marks that I couldn't listen to Iat 36,000 ft well done Podcast.

I love this app!!! Hands down the best podcast app I've ever used. Rarely it gets overwhelmed by multiple downloads, but it could be my phone and I'd like a way to use it to play other audio files because it's that stable. If there's a bug, it disappears FAST. Ads can be bypassed easily. I'd like to know about the effect of favoriting (is that a word?) episodes, if reviewing works to push a podcast up the charts, and things like that, but I know I'll get feedback. Keep up the fantastic work

This app was working fine until the latest update and now podcasts that I tag don't show up under their labels consistently....really annoying. At least they still show up under the "ALL" label. 10/06: So now I have the opposite problem where all the shows show up under every label regardless of how their tagged. This happens most of the time.

When I first downloaded this app it was awesome, I had no complaints and recommended it to everyone who was looking for a new app to listen to their podcasts on. A few weeks ago I get a notification that if I pay I can get ad free but it was always ad free before? Now I get an add before and after I do anything. It will randomly stop playing constantly and I have to sit through an ad before I can get back into the podcast episode listand scroll through to find the episode I was listening to.

Mostly has been a great app so far for a year or so. Unfortunately the latest update has taken a turn for the worse. 1. Way too many ads. 2. The auto-delete doesn't work anymore. I have episodes that I listened to days ago that are still there in my downloads. Disabled and enabled "auto-delete episodes after 1hr" multiple times, to no avail. Just have to do it manually. 3. Playlists feature still needs a lot more work. It's still not good enough for me to use it, I just play them directly.

really great app but recently has been a little buggy for me when trying to sort podcasts from oldest-newest and vice versa! this function worked for me a month ago but in recent weeks it just doesn't do it at all... would love to get some assistance regarding this, & for reference, I use a Huawei P10 Plus! edit: thanks so much to the Castbox team for the speedy response! the app works perfectly after using your solution :) will gladly keep using the app as my number 1 podcast player!

I use this app daily for all of my podcasts. Very easy to navigate and I love the search function, as it gives me related podcasts to try

I like the player, but the frequency of ads has been getting over the top lately making it hard to use.

I really like the interface. If it stopped there I would give it five stars. However there are two bugs of which I am currently aware. The first is annoying but minor - adding a new episode to the play list doesn't correctly place it in next up. There is a work around but it's a kludge - one star. The second is catastrophic. I have all of the appropriate sliders in the app set to forbid mobile data use. Commercials eat data anyway. Stupid! Two more stars.

Really bad surprised when I realised that in plane mode I couldn't access my predownloaded podcasts... Second, not as bad but still really annoying, why it is so easy to had something in my library but so difficult to remove it? The first point is plain bad, the second make me willing to delete the app. Edit: On the way back everything worked properly... and thanks for the procedure.

Unfortunately, it's been hogging mobile data for the last two months. I adjusted every setting they recommend in the app and restricted access in my phone settings, but it still finds a way to use more data than any other app I have installed (by far). Last month it passed 1 gig, even though I never steamed or downloaded on mobile data. I had hoped it was something that would be patched quickly. It's going to suck setting up all my subscriptions and settings on a different app.

Having access to podcasts is good, but since the latest update this app constantly pauses itself (even after turning off the battery optimization, which it should surely be able to work with anyway). It's very annoying and distracting. The downloaded episodes don't always play in order either and it instead plays the episode you're currently on and then skips to a previous one. Needs a lot of improvement.

I'll change the review when it starts working. I downloaded a bunch of stuff I really want to listen to, but when I try to play any of it, nothing happens. It just repeatedly goes from pause to play, and right back to pause without ever playing. Super frustrating! ---. A developer from sent me a message to contact them through the app. I opened it, and it worked! I even turned off wifi and data, and tried a different podcast. So, now I can give a normal review. Im just out of space now...

this app was great for a little while. Great sound quality, good controls, and relatively easy to learn how to use the features. However the app started to not work correctly. Anytime the app is playing and the screen of my phone is not actively on, the app would stop. Turn the screen back on or unlock the phone and it would instantly start playing again with no further input. Wasn't able to figure it out so I eventually had to uninstall. Hopefully this gets resolved. Was great initially.

I castbox for years and I hate it now. Un skippable splash screen adds when starting a new episode, adds in the description of the episode, adds that cover the shows logo. Not to mention the functionality now sucks. I can't look at all the podcasts I'm subscribed to without a pro membership? I have to download it automatically then find what I want after downloading. Castbox got greedy and tried to get you to pay for basic functionality and then splattered adds EVERYWHERE. Seriously. Skip it.

So many incredible updates, I'm very grateful for them taking feedback seriously and responding to user concerns! The "Zen mode beta" is pure magic. I wish there was a simple user guide, however, when first installing the app (optional) for a tour of all the features and how they work! Also would love a guide on how to use the "Podcaster" features. Huge thanks for not requiring us to make an account to use this beautiful app!

Great app, but now has way too many ads! Worst. They always play with sound regardless of my settings!

I've been using this for about 15 months and it was pretty alright, but now it crashes within a few seconds every time I try to open it.

Diabolical ui. It's now paying me whichever episode i select followed by all the episodes i already listened to in reverse order and navigating to the options to fix this is a nightmare

Perfect App to match today's fast paced lifestyle. Learn, Build, educate, start updated all on the go and as per your convenience. #Win

I know you need advertising to survive, but I'm really disappointed that you allow/promote advertising that objectifies women like the dating services adverts that I've seen. It's not nice to have these images loop round in my screen.

Although I still use Castbox, I've gotten away from listening to podcasts. I'm finding it difficult to find stuff that interests me. When I do find something, the people that narrate, well, irratate me beyond control. Don't get me wrong, is not the apps fault people are irratating, the app is super, it's just, ugh!

Great podcast player. I was going to go for Pocket cast but the price seemed too steep. Then I used Google podcast but it's very clunky. Castbox has everything I need. There are plenty of customizable options. There is a dark mode, automatic downloads, notifications of new episodes... I could go on and on. edit: 08 Aug 19 there's been an update to commercialize the app and it's significantly slower to load. the start up is very slow and the ads in between shows and episodes slows it down.

The popups, which seem to be a fairly recent addition, are awful. The app was quite good before they put them in (in fact this is the only podcast app I've ever used!) but now it feels like an assult of advertising everytime you try to navigate to a new show or episode. It's not nice. It gives the user experience a cheap feeling. Please rethink.

I love this app. But I'm giving it a 3 because the recent update has made it so I have a ton of ads and drains my battery life unbelievably fast. I used to be able to listen to a bunch of podcasts and not have to worry about my battery life. Now, after one 45-60 min episode, I have to charge my phone; which is highly inconvenient. I expect some ads with free apps, but now it's almost to a point where I'm going to start using a different app for podcasts. All other features are amazing though.

Ignoring the adds and the issues with the UI, the app works. I have two real issues. First, I have noticed a particular issue with my car - I don't know what it is caused by, but I have not found any other app that displays similar behavior. When the podcast app is running in my car, I can't seem to receive or initiate calls using my car Bluetooth. Within my car's menu I can navigate my messages and contacts as usual, but I can't call anyone (I can if the app is not running). The second issue is with regards to downloads - for some reason it will download new episodes very slowly, and often even fail. This has become so frustrating that I have decided to switch back to another podcast application for now - or perhaps even just manually download episodes and load them onto my phone.

This app is horrible! Before all the ads, I would have given this app 5 stars. Now, I would give it zero stars if that were possible. This app crashes 8-10 times per day, its constantly buffering, and now they want you to PAY to get rid of the ads that are most likely causing part, or all, of the problem. Why pay for an app that only works half the time? Can Castbox guarantee these issues will go away if you pay for the app?? Fix this Castbox!

Latest update the app has stopped working on Bluetooth in my vehicle. I never had a issue on bluetooth before this. It completely crashes the SYNC system if I try to connect the Sansung S8 phone. I have been using the app for about a year. Worked great until a few months ago when it would just stop playing podcasts randomly not connected to bluetooth. Very annoying. Now with bluetooth crashing I have to find a different podcast app.

Best podcast app I've used so far. UX is good and intuitive. Just lacking a few features, but still the most well rounded app out there. One big thing for me is being able to hide all shows in my library that are up to date (No unplayed episodes). This helps navigate my library much better. An auto playlist would also be great. For example, I'd love to set up a playlist of all unplayed episodes in a tag from oldest to newest.

I absolutely love this podcast! I only started listening from the beginning in August, so I'm only about halfway through book 5, but it's the best. I first heard about it when I was volunteering at LeakyCon Dallas and I was in the room for their panel with Mark Oshiro. They're hilarious and wonderful. I read the series every year and this year's re-read is all the better as I get to experience it for the first time again vicariously through Roshawn! Keep up the excellent work!
