When I first installed this podcast years ago it was awesome, 5 stars for sure. Since then it's gone downhill purely because of how bad the ads have become. It used to be very few ads now and then, now right when you open the app there is a 15s unskippable ad, then for each podcast there is another unskippable ad before you start it as well as these super annoying bottom scroll ads that block your last podcast in downloads. Unless you don't mind a terrible ad experience get another app.

Love the podcasts, but they stop abruptly. In the middle of a show, for no particular reason, the podcast will just stop. It doesn't just pause itself; in order to pick up where I left off I have to search for it again, find that specific episode again, and try to find where it cut out. This is a real pain when since I listen a lot while I'm driving, in which case I can't look for it at the time. This has happened the entire time I've been using the app but it's become much more often lately.

This was the best app but lately when I click on a podcast it just keeps trying to connect. Or simply doesn't play at all. Really frustrating. Uninstalled and installed multiple times hoping to fix this issue and nothing. Even stayed away for a few weeks, stupidly hoping this would help. Nope. I'm done with this app. Sucks because it had the best podcasts.

Would be a great app if it didn't randomly start Podcasts on my phone 5 times a day. I assumed it was just my phone randomly opening the app in my pocket for 2 weeks until it started doing it while I was using my phone or it was sitting on my desk, untouched. Other than that I'll give credit where it's due, this is definitely a great app, don't get me wrong. Very simplified, just the way I like it. Unlike other podcast apps that are too complex for no good reason. Pick a topic, pick a show, done

I loved listening to podcasts on this app. Well I did several months ago. Now it's annoying. It stops after about 10 mins. Actually it keeps playing but it shows its frozen on the app. When I go back to open the podcast. I have to search beyond where it is showing it stopped. Sometimes, It will come back on and play double. And even then it's not at the same parts. I have to restart my phone because I can't turn either of them off. I looked for the phone optimization option can't find it.

GARBAGE. Always freezes or cuts my podcast short. Edit: Still Garbage. You actually think it has something to do with the battery? This is a brand new phone, and it happened before on the old phone. So get your stuff together and either fix it, or delete it. I'm not the only one who thinks this. 🖕

The app frequently stalls. (Edited review) I have discovered that if I attempt - while listening to a Castbox podcast - to use another app like a game that has music, though I turn the game's audio off, the podcast stalls. No, it actually stops after about a minute or so.. How can this be remedied?

It's all I've used for a while, has good recommendations. I wish they had a pro version without ads, I've had quite a few near misses trying to hit the tiny 'x' just to resume a podcast while driving. Ads are incredibly random, sometimes when starting a podcast, sometimes interrupting, sometimes just switching back to the app. Would also be great if I could transfer onto my sd card as well, I frequently battle my library queue against maxing my internal storage.

I really enjoy this app. It's functioally easy to use. Everything from searching for podcasts to saving your favorite stations to downloads is a breeze. Some video ads play over the podcast when coming back from paused for the 5-10 seconds they play for every now and then, but they're skipable. Overall, this is a great app. I use it almost everyday.

Update! This app just installed ANOTHER random app without my consent! I've had enough and uninstalling now! Ad overboard!!!! It's gotten to the point where your ads are playing music and sounds with no way of muting or closing out on the start up. And just now when I went to open the player, it downloaded an app I did not want! Looking for a new player since this has become too intrusive.
