I'm using the arabic program. So, the other languages offered might be completely different. But as for the arabic, I am not considering purchasing the complete version. All of the speakers have thick non-arab accents and lot of the speech is inverted in places where the learner is required to place the words in sequence. Additionally, I cannot figure out how to access an arabic keyboard from the site on my laptop, so I can only use that part of the vocabulary learning on my phone.

  2. guest-avatar

download The best language app out there. Everything is divided into nice 'bite-sized' pieces. It teaches you how to use expressions in context, which is truly useful. I think this app can be easily used as a main language learning resource, and not just as a supplement, unlike most of other apps. It's too expensive for me, but I believe it'll be great for many people.

  3. guest-avatar

Very good to learn a language from scratch! Good combination of listening, reading, writing, grammar and some talking (more talking would be good). Unfortunately it's not possible to use the vocabulary trainer offline, not even with Premium. Fix that and I'll give five stars. And please extend the grammar trainer, that's a great new feature.

  4. guest-avatar

So far it's the best! Better than Duolingo, I believe. Everything is explained, but not over-explained, though you can choose a Duolingo mode, revising the vocabulary... I tried nearly all of them (a lot of popular apps), with the intention to leave duo. It's the only alternative. As a teacher of foreign languages, I feel my colleagues behind this application ๐Ÿ™‚ Well done! Thank you! Merci beaucoup! Danke!

Awesome app, far better than some of the competition I've used before. Some bugs with the UI I would like to see ironed out in the future like repeated exercises appearing when you look through your friends work and your own profile. Solid recommendation to anyone looking to start learning though as the features really help immerse you in a new language without overwhelming.

  6. guest-avatar

Very easy to navigate through and really informative app. Would give 5 stars but there really isn't a way to meet new people like it is advertised. You can correct people's examples but no chat or direct message options and everyone can see your conversation. I still use it every day and feel I am learning a lot.

  7. guest-avatar

In my opinion this app is better than duolingo. I've been learning Japanese and you can learn relevant words and phrases, starting with greetings and casual conversation. Also the paid version looks great and I re on I will pay for it, but you can get by and learn just as much for free with a little bit of dedication. Awesome app

  8. guest-avatar

Good afternoon. My experience using this app have been so far so good, but recently I've faced some issues related to the "Conversation" section. The exercises to engage with the community have been double/triple posted everyday and I keep receiving notifications regarding exercises that I already had previous corrections from native speaks. Is something wrong going on? I am neither correcting anyone nor submitting new exercises because everything is getting reposted several times in a row.

  9. guest-avatar

The app was good when I used it two years ago. It's gotten even better. As a professional language teacher I can tell you Busuu's instructional methods adhere to currency theories of language acquisition. The only fault in the app is it will not stop you from rushing through without review. It's up to you to figure out when you, individually, need to review. Since they are not mind readers, this is quite reasonable ;)

  10. guest-avatar

I was using Duolingo and tried this one, had a good start and so paid for the annual subscription. The start was quite good, with sufficient explanation and the progress was not too fast. Yet, towards the end of Beginner course, the dialogue suddenly becomes very difficult with very long sentence and vocabulary which was not taught. So it became a bit frustrating towards later courses. Also, the review question only accept one specific answers but not all answers which are correct. For example, "will you play golf this weekend?", you can be singular or plural in English, but the answer only accepts the plural form ใ‚ใชใŸใŸใก

  11. guest-avatar

I have the premium version and I think it's worth it, the app keeps me entertained while learning the language through realistic dialogues. I like the social aspect of having the ability to get quick feedback from a native speaker. I don't think you can learn a language just by using this app, but you get a well structured course that can significantly improve your conversational skills.

I used this app a few years ago, stopped for a while, and then started using it again. Although it was still helpful in its old form, it has certainly improved a lot since then. You can tell the team has put a lot of thought into it and I am rapidly understanding things that were previously depressingly confusing. I love where the app is at right now. I highly recommend using this program

  13. guest-avatar

After lesson 56 in Japanese a whole shitload of words that the previous lessons never taught you show up, so I don't know if the lack of those words was done intentionally or not but at least its got me looking up a lot of the things outside of the app to make up for it (specifically particles). But, there's a butt ton of YouTube videos on that topic so it was easy to supplement. Asides from that issue if you're planning on using this app to learn Japanese its really good. Buy if on sale.

  14. guest-avatar

Okay, this app is so awesome! I'm learning French, and this freaking app is so accurate! It won't just tell you the formals, but the informals as well! This is really useful for speaking with colleagues. I also really love how you can help other users speak your native language. This is a really great app, even if you don't have the paid version.

  15. guest-avatar

This is a really great tool for learning a language. The only thing I would change is that there seems to be people correcting others on a language they themselves are not fully fluent in. A solution I've heard is to create a rating system where you can vote on if a correction is good or bad. Then, maybe if people make too many bad corrections they can no longer do it for that language.

  16. guest-avatar

Whilst the content ist "gut" the interface is riddled with premium, premium PREMIUM detracting you from what your end goal is...learning. Voice quality is below average and probably done at 64kb at most which makes it very difficult to hear what the pronunciation sounds like. It sounds like its been recorded in moby dick's stomach or a bar. Furthermore it sounds like it's copying a far better quality app, duolingo. I do like the different levels in terms of quality of German though i.e A1, B2

  17. guest-avatar

Only a week in but I've made decent progress in basic Japanese. (I have paid the annual subscription fee) The app is simple to use and logs plenty of data on your strong and weak areas to build a personal learning programme. There are several difficulty levels or targets to choose from when you start and you can alter these as you progress if you are struggling or require a higher level of learning.

  18. guest-avatar

    Izabela ล egedin

Unlike other language apps (the wonderful Lingodeer comes to mind), most of the content of this app is behind a paywall. Want to quiz yourself on what you have learned? Pay up! Want to apply what you have learned in a context, actually learn the grammar and not just a few vocab points? Get premium! In my country one can get a full fledged online course for this kind of money. The app has a lot of potential but the in app purchases just ruin it for me.

  19. guest-avatar

Interesting app but for me (learning Japanese) there is too much focus from the start on being able to write/understand Hiragana. I am a total beginner and I can in NO way recognize the symbols after seeing them for like 25 seconds... So this frustrated me a lot. Other than that, good app.

  20. guest-avatar

    Random Videos Z

I like a lot of the lessons Bussu offers but I would just like some key concepts in a language that we really struggle in like pronounciation, verbs and tenses because mostly or all of them are in premium. That would really help a lot! Even just a few lessons. Other than that, it's pretty good! ๐Ÿ‘

  21. guest-avatar

Great app! It has useful insights on each phrase. All examples can be pronounced for you. You can help others on the "social" tab, and you don't need the membership to learn a new language. By far the best language learning app I've tried! Btw, do not recommend Babbel, it is awful without membership.

  22. guest-avatar

I have really enjoyed my experiance so far with this app for learning japanese. I like the order of how things are taught and i feel it is more like an actual lesson than any other app i have tried. Explanations are simple and concise making it understandable and quick to learn and make notes. It includes mulitple exercises too making the learning experiance varied and great for all learners. The only downside really is the fact that you would have to pay to do quizzes.

  23. guest-avatar

    Deshantha Lenecke

Compared to other language learning apps I find this quite refreshing. I enjoy the mix of vocab and grammar with reading and listening. I would suggest that even the answer options as in true or false can be translated to German at some point. Maybe from A2 onwards? Also another suggestion would be everyday you sign in maybe there can be a Test your knowledge on what you learnt the day before. Awesome app!

  24. guest-avatar

    Carlos Villegas

Very useful, way better than duolingo, dont get me wrong, duoling is good and fun, i would recomend duolingo for kids, but busuu teach you real situations from the first lesson, instead of " the dog writes a book" like duolingo. I recomend bussu as a main app and duolingo as a secondary or just as a practice tool, also, dont forget to download a good dictionary app.

  25. guest-avatar

Love how it urges students to use the content they've just learned in a lesson with listening and dialogue prompts, while also offering a peer feedback system in which native speakers may correct a learner's production. I'm still getting used to the 'Did you know?' feature though, as it can sometimes cause an information overload, but that's not really a con.

  26. guest-avatar

I have been using this to learn chinese. The app is good at quickly getting you learning words and piecing vocabulary together to form sentences. The social aspect of correcting wach other is a really good idea and provides useful feedback. Moving forward a couple of things this app could look at improving to make the chinese course better is to ensure all lessons and words have a pinyin option, espcially the complete the dialogue tasks, and introduce some grammar lessons earlier. Overall great

I love it! Just no words, I am getting a lot with free version, but soon, I hope, I am going to purchase the full course, because it is worth. I recommend it to all who are fed up reading grammar books. With Busuu, you will learn in a fun way! Enjoy... :)

  28. guest-avatar

I love this app. However, after a few lessons in Japanese, they stopped being beginner friendly. The speakers speak way too fast for people just learning to understand. I have to repeat lessons over and over again which is frustrating.

I once used this app. I was having a good experience until I accidentally deleted this app. I download it again and unfortunately, I have to log in or sign up. I forgot my password, so I decided to sign up instead. But it keeps saying that I already have an account. I tried to click "forgot password" and did all the steps needed but nothing worked. So I can't learn anything on busuu anymore. Please try to fix it. I'm sorry I have to give u 2 stars.

  30. guest-avatar

This is the best app I've tried for learning Spanish. I like Duolingo better for learning vocabulary, because it forces you to practice a bit more and it's more enjoyable (not to mention, it's free), but Busuu is most like the college course I took in Spanish. It is a great review of grammar rules, and it's a very useful tool.

  31. guest-avatar

Learning Japanese... Money not worthit I'm sorry team busuu, at first they teach the basic how to greet each other, how to say this is, that is, etc. but when things are getting further it's more like memorization not analization is happening... I'm looking how to use pass, present and future tense and how to use the 5 W's... I notice more problem but i don't have time for now... Please Improve your app more... I love your app it is simply cool

  32. guest-avatar

I love Busuu for my japanese but ive been doing it for years, so this really helps! On the other hand, this is not for beginners. My best friend is teaching herself Chinese and the forceful use of you guys trying to get her to spell everything out when she only knows symbols and sounds is completely unfair and made her quit on me =(

  33. guest-avatar

I started learning spanish because I feel that learning a new language is good for your brain. As I have my boards next year, I wanted a quick way to learn the language, and i have to admit, busuu has been helping me a lot. It's got an easy interface, and even if you spend 5 minutes a day, you will start speaking the language from the very first day!! I am thoroughly loving this app!

  34. guest-avatar

Terrible experience. There was a start free juat to lure you to create account and take the first course. After the very first course, it required monthly payments and didn't let me continue with any course. Uninstalled and you should say it first that requires money to attend that. Wasted my Time. Don't recommend

  35. guest-avatar

The best app there is for language learning. And believe me, because I have used Duolingo and Hellotalk. Clean interface, good practice and well structured lessons. Con would be thr high price, and slow customer support. A gold mine if you can buy it during the discount period.

  36. guest-avatar

J'aime beaucoup cette app. Infact I love how blue it is and the pictures they use to facilitate learning. Es bueno bueno! It's got a little Duolingo-ish feature but I think so far c'est mieux que รงa( mon opinion personnel en tout cas). Merentum nka nyinaara mmom naaso oyie araa! ใ‚ใ‚ŠใŒใจใ†ใ”ใ–ใ„ใพใ—ใŸใ€‚

  37. guest-avatar

I paid for the premium, it was great at the beginning but starts getting difficult especially for beginners, the structure is all over the place, compared to duo, I prefer duolingo. The app doesn't function properly, I have to completely close it to continue the next lesson which is so frustrating and waste of time. If not that I paid for the annual package I would have stopped using it. I still used duolingo to improve my vocabulary.

  38. guest-avatar

I love it but after 2 lessons you have to get the premium to get a full lesson. Other than that I love the app. Not even 1 day and I can introduce myself and I have learned that there are 2 alphabets!

  39. guest-avatar

Great app great content, however when I logged out, it wouldn't let me log back in again through my Google account, it just comes up with the message, Email/Password not found. Help!! I really liked this app!

  40. guest-avatar

I tried to use the form of contact setted on the official website to report mistakes, but couldn't even send out tge message or reach any contact service (while my mailbox is full of busuu ads!). There are many mistakes in arabic courses which need to be fixed!

  41. guest-avatar

I love the app bought the premium very great. I only have 1 problem and that is that my japanese keyboard is not being detected in the app. While on other media or seach boxes it does work. ใฏใ„ for example here it does but in the app it stays romaji

  42. guest-avatar

I really like it. This app is just amazing. Always beeb a fan of japan and just in two days I considerably increase my knowledge about the language. My only one problem is about the quizz that are locked. I wish they were free tests as well. Ganbar!

  43. guest-avatar

I have tried Duolingo, Memrise, and I like this one better. It focuses on the sentences you want to say and conversations you want to have, instead of just memorizing vocabulary.

  44. guest-avatar

Every thing is going great with learning Japanese! But if I could change one thing about the app is that you can take the quizzes without having to buy premium other than that the app is absolutely amazing!

  45. guest-avatar

    Monique Van Heerden

Everything abouut this app is great. It's fun to learn and easy. Unfortunately the app doesn't allow you to receive full lessons. So if you really waรฑt to learn a language and are willing to pay quite a lot I recommend it. But if you don't, don't download it because yes some of it is free but the more important parts of learning a language is not ex. grammar. Download Duolingo you'll learn a lot faster for free.

  46. guest-avatar

Has some good features, but lacks in opportunities to practice in-app (Take a look at Du****go and their drill exercises). The spell-check should be more lenient to typos and the range of accepted answers should be increased (e.g. he recibido is fine, but yo he recibido is not??). Also, please remove the exercises where you click individual letters to complete a word. They're super tedious. Hope to see more improvements in the future!

  47. guest-avatar

Don't get me wrong! I enjoyed the method very much. But subscription for tests which are part of the program? A bit too much. I'm game for spending to go the extra mile. But yeah, this is business I guess.

  48. guest-avatar

Great tool, very engaging. Brief placement test was very accurate. I hope they can add more languages and offer more advanced levels of study in the long run.

  49. guest-avatar

It is an excelent tool to learn languages but it has some bugs in the Android version that makes the navigation between lessons no so simple since many times instead of advancing to the next one it restars the pne that you have just finished.

  50. guest-avatar

This app is awesome I'm already learning and I can even write my own schedule and they give me tips and tell me how to improve the best part is, ITS FREE! This is the best free app for learning I have ever got! Totally recommend.

  51. guest-avatar

I've made so much progress this past two weeks and this is the first app I feel is focused on improvement. I still use Duolingo but that's just for fun. Also subscribe to ICI.Tou which has far more accurate subtitling and great shows to watch. Wish me luck :)

  52. guest-avatar

    Kathleen Lowell

I find the app confusing and difficult. Also, beware being charged $70 automatically after starting a free trial. Canceling subscription doesn't get a refund. Waste of time and money. Don't even try this app.

  53. guest-avatar

This app is AMAZING! I have used so many language apps like duolingo and they just weren't helping but this app gives you a personalized plan for when you want to achieve the fluency of the language you are learning, so far I have no complaints!

  54. guest-avatar

Absolutely perfect ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ‘ Exactly what I be been looking for for a very long time. I love how it teaches hiragana and now katakana also in the Japanese course! This is an amazing and highly recommended app.

  55. guest-avatar

It's great but there is one an only one downside u don't have access to every course u need premium to get some courses over all it a solid 9/10 only because u have to get premium for some courses but it is definitely the best language learning app out there

  56. guest-avatar

There is a bug in English, level 20 the third part, practise section, I can't continue pecause there is a question with no buttons or selections or field to press on it. Please fix this issue

  57. guest-avatar

Great way to learn. I have Duolingo plus and busuu, and I prefer busuu much more. I feel like it's actually teaching me rather than just throwing vocab at me and hoping I catch on. It's also allowing me to learn at a much faster and more comprehensive rate.

  58. guest-avatar

    Martin SOUTHALL

I've only just started using this app, but so far so good. Although you do have to pay a subscription if you really want to open up all of the facilities. But the free parts of the app are ok.

  59. guest-avatar

I wish they had more choices for quizzes. It's a little too easy. Also, being a visual learner, I need charts to learn the grammar. But overall not bad for a free language-learning app.

  60. guest-avatar

Love this app! Repetition is a key when learning a new language and this app provides this. And my favourite part is when a native speaker correct your mistakes. Love it!

I enjoy it a lot! But I have a problem, I add a friend and she has already started her free trial but I didn't get a reward. It's quite disappointing (

The app is very interactive. I like it, it also makes a personal study plan depending on your level and tracks your progress also. I'm thinking about availing the subscription.

As someone who is moderately deaf. I struggle with language learning app until I came across this one. This app has really helped. So much I got premium and very looking forward to my journey!

Very good app, and the subscription is justified. The strictness helps and so do the tips. I'm using this to learn Spanish.

  65. guest-avatar

This app is great. Only drawback I would say is it doesn't translate the meaning to English which is pretty hard to understand the exact meaning of the sentence.

  66. guest-avatar

It's an amazing app! I started not knowing the sound that any Japanese characters made, but I now know a lot more thanks to Busuu ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘ I'd definitely recommend!

  67. guest-avatar

Just became premium and it looks promising and I don't see the difference between duo and busuu and no one need to be premium because there is no privilege being premium. Only privilege is busuu society and it doesn't deserve to being premium too. But it's not so expensive and I'm saying again 'go use duo for free instead of busuu'

  68. guest-avatar

It's awful, this app updated the credit card alone and I can't cancel my subscription ! Worse the lessons aren't that great it is missing A LOT of grammar content. I highly don't recommend this app for anyone!

  69. guest-avatar

Why do you have to purchase a premium package to learn another language which I feel is unfair, I'm a student still learning I cant afford to buy these packages but besides that issue the learning process is much easier but can you guys also improve on the recordings when they pronounce words it's quite difficult to hear sometimes.

  70. guest-avatar

Learning a lot! I got the premium plan and it's really worth it. Very simple anda fun to learn a new language. I totally recommend it to everyone trying to learn a new language.

  71. guest-avatar

This is the best language learning app. I've been learning Spanish for a year or so now through university and duolingo. But this app has really upped the game. Gives you so much context for what you're learning.

Pairing this with other apps has really cemented my understanding. This app does a good job explaining rules and reasons why languages are structured how they are.

Is very easy, fancy and fun to use, it has images of very well-know characters, and that's what I like it

Lack of an option to use traditional characters when learning Chinese makes this app not useful to me, which is a shame because it seems like a good app in general.

  75. guest-avatar

I think it's a nice supplement to the other apps. I enjoy the social features that the other apps lack. The study plan that it offers is also very nice! 4 stars.

  76. guest-avatar

Hi, I think this was amazingly helpful I'm learning Russian but, I can't continue learning because I have to buy premium. Overall it's the best I have used.

  77. guest-avatar

I think it's a great app for learning French and Spanish because there's a gradual progression from word to very simple sentence structure before moving on to complex sentences (with verb changes) later on. (There's progression from A1 to B2 level too.) I like that there's an online community that helps to correct our exercises. And there are explanation for grammar rules. However, it's not so great for Mandarin or Arabic because there's no introduction to the writing system.

  78. guest-avatar

It's very good. I bought the Premium Plus subscription and I'm working my way through the Spanish course. There are a few annoying issues with the social features though. Mainly that it seems to kick you back to your course constantly, which means you lose the corrections you had there. I've viewed people's profiles, then tried to go back to the corrections and found the page has refreshed, and you lose people's profiles. It's a bit restricting! Otherwise, very good!

Really sole to us. Enough repetition to learn but I haven't been noted. A great mix of listening, speaking and writing that really helps vocabulary and grammar stick.

  80. guest-avatar

The learning techniques are just simple memorization exercises, with almost no explanation of grammar or conjugation rules. Do NOT pay for this like I accidentally did. (Apparently clicking "Continue" on PayPal doesn't "continue" to a screen to review your order, it just makes your purchase.) I wish I could refund it and get my money back, they were unhelpful when I asked

Very helpful way to learn language. Easy to understand as well as a nice free course you can try. It is the best language learning app so far. I have tried other language learning apps like Mondly and Duolingo. Busuu Has a friendly interface, takes the education from scratch you get to learn new words. Wonderful! Thank you for developing this app. Might consider a subscribtion.

  82. guest-avatar

I enjoy the app and purchased premium. I'd like for it to be a bit more dialog possibilities though and maybe more suggestions on supportive materials

I really enjoy the user experience. This app is really entertaining and has great learning exercises. I also like the community.

  84. guest-avatar

It's a good app, but I hate to say it but can be quite hard for beginners and a bit boring to be honest. I'm sticking with Duolingo.

It's an interesting app for learning languages but the amount of times it bugs me with notifications to try to get me to interact with it or purchase a premium account is just ridiculous. If I don't want to interact with your app, don't push multiple notifications per day to my phone! I'll get to it when I want, not when you want. I uninstalled it for that reason alone.

I like the overall usability. English is not my first language but I still get around really easily. Thanks for that

  87. guest-avatar

Transitioned from duolingo. The lessons are structured much better than duolingo. And the progression makes a lot more sense. Way more practical.

This is great! I've learned so much Japanese over the past few days. I am trying to become fluent in Japanese in under 4 years so I dont have trouble reading when I move to Japan in 4 years. This app is great and much better then duolingo, duolingo seems more for tourists who need to learn some baby words Lol. Awesome app!!!

  89. guest-avatar

It a great app, but you could use it 10 mins a day if you dont pay. If you are willing to pay then this is a great app

  90. guest-avatar

No doubt I am enjoying the lesson, but after purchasing the subscription you guy's have started bugging me now. Whenever I open the app i get notification stating there's billing issue and if i don't fix it I might loose my subscription. Well the payment is already deducted from my account, I have received receipt for it. Now what? It's asking me for backup payment detail, why? Also the subscription mentions Feb 19 whereas I purchased it on April 15 2020? I hope everything is alright.

  91. guest-avatar

Amazing! This app really does teach you in a very intuitive and natural way. I'm surprised at how much I'm learning!

So much of the content is behind a pay wall, that it is pretty much unusable without a premium.

  94. guest-avatar

Surprisingly good for language learning. The only thing I can't figure out is how to access the placement test for a second language.

  95. guest-avatar

Awesome app. It shows you hiragana and katana, natives correct you, and along the way it shows you words which later you can review.

Its a great app for learning diff lang right now i havn't bought its premium so i m facing little bit of difficulty in accessing its full content but its really good..

  97. guest-avatar

By far the best application for learning to speak another language, I hate when you are forced to pay subscriptions.

  98. guest-avatar

I really love it. 3 days into using it and I already know the entire Russian alphabet and can read some Russian sentences.

It's the best language learning app. It will get you true (B2) fluency, unlike Memrise and Duolingo. Pair it with online lessons and you will get there fast.

  100. guest-avatar

So far not good. I had high hopes for this app but I just tried to do the placement test and the listening elements are glitchy which means that I keep running out of time for those questions. I don't feel much inclined to keep trying to be honest. If the placement test is typical of the quality of the app I think I'll be uninstalling shortly!
