I applaud the attempt of bringing Cayenne into the 21st century with an application meant to facilitate the use of its archaic and anarchic public transport system. However, as it is, the "app" is just a moderately well executed graphic front-end for the bus network's website. It suffers from all the problems the website suffers: timetables have an at best tenuous relationship with reality, it is impossible to recharge the bus card online (this requires visiting one office in the city centre which has very limited opening hours...) and of course the app, like the website, is painfully slow. This is especially annoying for the one useful feature of the app, the LiveMap which shows where buses are currently located. As the timetables and timings are at best a fantasy, users need the LiveMap to check whether buses are actually running and whether one might show up at their stop within the next 45 minutes. While this works with patience and sometimes several tries on the website, I can't even get the LiveMap to load with the app. Bottom line, the app is completely useless as it is, but it is heartening to know that somebody, somewhere tries to make public transport in Cayenne usable.
