  1. Adrian Araiza-avatar

At first I didn't like the app that much, looking for books (Blinks) was tedious, the audio player would constantly crash, controls with headphones or smart watch were unreliable. But the content itself was so good that I kept on using this app despite its setbacks. After a few updates, the UI has been greatly improved and the audio player works just fine. I use it everyday for the free daily pick, and the premium version from time to time. It has changed my life.

  2. s njie-avatar

Love the content. L One of my favourite apps and a wonderful way to gain knowledge and select your next non fiction book. Fantastically well curated books with clear reading. One of my favourite apps and a wonderful way to gain knowledge and select your next non fiction book. Initially I was pretty Irritated by the app. Fantastically well curated books and content but the app is horribly glitchy. The problem has been fixed.

  3. Jess FK-avatar

I've listened to/read 33 books on this app and I am sooo happy with it. It's absolutely exploded my ability to learn in record time. I'm a bit impatient to read a whole book and often found they were unnecessarily fluffed out and I just craved precision, exactly what this app offers. When buying and reading ordinary books I often found it frustrating after finishing and realising I couldn't remember what I'd read well. With blinkist I can easily relisten and keep things fresh. Recommended!

  4. KaOs-avatar

Good idea but app doesn't allow sorting by popularity/listens etc. Subscription is 6 months at a time even though there is not close to 6 months amount of content. Feels like more than half the books are self help books. Most biographies are by pseudointellectuals, there are no classics like Nietzsche, Jung, Marx etc. Most annoying thing about the app is that u can't listen to a book while u browse for others at the same time.

  5. laura gamse-avatar

Could be much better. Slim selection slanted towards self help books and no way to give feedback on the voiceover artists reading 'blinks'. Unfortunately some of them are really bad. For example on the book "How Music Got Free" -- the reader sounds like she thinks she's reading a children's book. No bueno.

  6. umaid dogar-avatar

I'm unable to finish any book that I starts and this a perfect gateway. Learning the essence of book just in few minutes is a gift. Though that's not how it should be but having a little understanding is still better then learning nothing at all. And great Ui/UX really impressive. 👍🏻

In love with this app. Whenever I hear that great people read so many books I think how can they read so many when I am lazy to read even one book. For people like me this is a great place to start and in love with the idea of blinks . Happy reading !!

  8. Ph Ph-avatar

I believe that the people who create content for this app do a really good job of summarizing the key points of various books, and I'm especially fond of the summaries of the self-help books in their catalog. The user interface is quite pleasant to interact with, and I'd like to believe that this application will only improve over time, so I'll give it five stars.

  9. Merina Parvin-avatar

Now only the basic version..... very useful and makes me smarter in minutes......keep up the good work...💜💕💕💘💙💙 Now, I use the paid version,,,,, had a bug recently that caused the loss of book count of some book reviews that I read,,,,,, other than that,,,,it’s my daily routine. Love it!! ☺☺

  10. Manish Nischal-avatar

I found that there is no option of deleting your own account. I have a below use case. As a 1st time user i login and i checked the application. Due to some reason i didn't find it useful to. So i want to delete my own account, but there is no option.

  11. Thomas stewart-avatar

Stupidly good app! I honestly was like ok I'll give this a crack see what it's about and I've learned so much they compress great books into short sticky captions I do suggest writing stuff down otherwise you do forget a lil but none the less I'm converting from a free trial to the monthly subscription so worth it!!!!

  12. Ankur Agarwal-avatar

Blinkist is a very good app. It's helping the society to encourage the habit of reading. I liked the summary of books as it helps me to get the moot points written in the book. Thanks Ryan for doing the awesome job.

  13. Ramon Royo-avatar

Enjoying it so far. I'm testing other apps, both free and paid and this one, because of the quality, the amount of content, the app and the annual price with the discount, will most probably be my choice once the trial period is over.

  14. jacob johnson-avatar

One of the few times I wish playstore offered me the chance to give a 6 star rating 😁 This app is just simply amazing. So incredibly time saving while also keeping up the quality of content we're seeking. Thank you, blinkist.

  15. Kaliman Hernan-avatar

Best of the best. I feel the trial should be 14 days instead of 7 but I already finished my 1 year subscription. It really nails it and deserves the price tag. Psd: love the quotes give us a little bit more

  16. MrCorona-avatar

All my items in library are locked once my subscription was expired. They force you to subscribe or you lose all stuff you downloaded earlier. Does not worth it. There are many apps with better service and more nice to users.

Tons of titles to choose from but there is a catch and that is you need to purchase them. Once paid, you will get all of them. Otherwise you need to satisfy your time with meagre amount of the blinks.

  18. Daanyaal Khan-avatar

It's good. Only problem is the summaries are of course fairly subjective. I'd recommend it only for those who want to a general overview of a book without buying them/don't want the book that much

I came back to the app after a few months and I was shocked how much it was improved. The content quality and functionalities are constantly getting better and better. It is a great source of inspiration for me.

  20. Jim Stewart-avatar

Super easy to use. The approach to learning is simple and appropriate for those that dont have the time or patience to read or listen to an entire book. Just the nuggets!

  21. Tracy Michau-avatar

I enjoy the way the app allows one to either read these blinkt pieces or have them read to you. I prefer the latter & I enjoy the way its presented in short but succinct short articles of work.

Great way to speed chew through the core ideas of books. Love it. The introduction of audiobooks and other content is a big plus too.

  24. Adrian Costea-avatar

This app made my day much easier and pleasant. I can hear some blinks when I do my excercise, before sleep and whenever I have some spare time.

  25. Krupali Patel-avatar

Daily blinks feature is just amazing. It helped me to know more about my interest. Thank you so much. One of the most valuable application.

  26. Radi Shafiq-avatar

great app. didn't know that even for free you could get to read a book each day. their collection is top notch. recommended.

  27. Chris Patten-avatar

When marketing fails! I wanted to confirm that I would not be charged beyond the free premium trial but there was no easy, transparent way to do it. Eventually I found a CS email and they did confirm.

  28. Rafi Uddin Ahmed-avatar

    2020-05-02T02:14:55.925Z

It's a great app. I love using it, this app provides so much information from the key point of books and it does so well.

  29. Nat Mansfield-avatar

It's okay. I think I expected too much. I find the choice quite limiting. The audio cuts out frequently and will not allow you to do any other action without stopping which is very annoying. You can't even browse within the app without it stopping. The player controls need to be more like a standard player to be able to navigate easier. I found it difficult to locate downloaded items, not an intuitive menu.

  30. Hanny Ahern-avatar

Was interested so i signed up for a trial. After about 15 minutes I was not interested. so I went to cancel my trial. which has been close to impossible. I was automatically signed up and just get endless sppam and bounce back emails from support. the voices on the books is robotic and is a cool idea but really unsoothing I found. the comapny seems human but must be running on bots. canceling a trial should not be so complicated.

  31. Shanna Rose-avatar

I was skeptical trying blinkist because I like the full audiobooks. I did the trial though and got through loads of books! This was amazing because I would never have had the time to read or listen to all those books in a short time. Sometimes all I want is a quick synopsis to apply the most important points into my life. I listened to some books I have read and found this is the perfect way to refresh my memory without having to reread the book. I would totally recommend!

  32. Laurie Payne-avatar

Found it difficult to get in AND out. Didn't like it and wanted out. Have to go all over the place to find out how to do that. Wanted to delete the account. Said deleting account does not stop purchases. I had chosen the 7 day free trial, then after scrolling down found the "basic" no cost option, so I chose that. There was no confirmation of my selection, so I don't know what is what. I want out, but I'll have to wait and see what happens. It is not clear.

Well I have been testing so far and I have felt blessed to use it until now. I hope you will be able to add wireless stream to audio device. I will like to use freely when I am cleaning my house or wash dishes or cooking home. I use one my daily walking. A second opinion will be if you can add female or male voice before I can play. I found more pleasant to hear a man voice and more productive in understanding the blinkist. Thank you

  35. L H29-avatar

I absolutely love this app. Even without the monthly subscription you get a daily free pick which is great. Once a day I take a look at that and see wether I'm interested or not and according to that I listen to those short extracts of about 15min and just enjoy. Thank you! 5 stars!!!!

  36. Netty Vet-avatar

Doesn't tell you you have to pay over $110 until you've installed it and signed up. Maybe tell us that to start with, coz I can't afford that! So I looked at what books are available on the free membership - it seems to be a few "self help" style books only, nothing from the topics I'm interested in, otherwise we're back to this expensive paid plan. I respect the work you've put into this, but how about a monthly charge even - the app just said it would take the annual amount straight away.

  37. Sunil Nair-avatar

Though a summary of a full length experience still the subject of, the objective, the purpose and understanding is not lost. Consider this as trailer before the actual journey with that book...

  38. Megan Lally-avatar

Good content, even for the free account, however the app is bothersome to use. There is no option to cast the audio (only via Bluetooth, very outdated technology). Searching for alternative things to listen to means exiting the current blink, and when resuming, it never resumes the audio where left off. Actual usability testing of the app would help solve these minor issues.

As usual, disgusting support are hidden behind beautiful design and content. I’ve been waiting for any response from support (issue of refund, surely) for 2 weeks. Whereas, the creators "carefully" assure on the website: "If you purchased a subscription and decide Blinkist isn't for you, please write to us within the first 14 days and our Support Team will be happy to cancel your subscription and refund the purchase." Well, think twice before subscribing. Thanks for ignoring, keep it up!

It's a practical app to use on the commute to work/home although it uses a lot of data for a not so rich content app (only text and audio). I have problem with doanloading blinks for offline use, i have a notification saying "download complete" but i don't find them in the downloaded section and when i am offline, i get the message that i need to connect to the internet to listen to the audio. My phone is a Samasung Galaxy S10+, please tell me if this happens only to me.

  43. Eshwar Pilli-avatar

Blinkist is a very good app for summary of non fiction books. I personally recommend it. But it can be made better. I am comparing it with Amazon Kindle in reference to reading. If I don't know any word then on selecting that word i can see the meaning of it which I do not find it in blinkist. So would recommend to add this feature of showing the meaning of the word upon selection.

  44. David BF-avatar

Nice way to improve your English skills, as we can read while the audio is playing, so we know how new words we learn are pronounced. The selection of books they have is GREAT. Also they provide 1 free blink a day (a blink is a book summary) The content is wonderful and the app just works! Good job! 👏👏

  45. S P-avatar

Lured into the free trial and then autocharged into 1 year subscription (99$) with no explicit approval or pre-possibly to opt out. Very confusing interface to change the subscription that takes you from the app to the web to a re-sign in page to.. nowhere. I am writing to the app owner for a refund, I'll post the result of the conversation. Got full refund 3 days later, after couple of emails

  46. Tommy Feehan-avatar

Doesn't allow me to search for blinks or authors. Also none of my blinks are appearing in my library. Has soured my experiance with the app

Very much depends what you're looking for. Pros: Good interface Good selection Well narrated Cons: -If you're learning style isn't that of someone who grasps information very quickly, a summary of key messages isn't going to be sufficient enough -You're missing the depth of learning and development if you don't go on to read the full book, as these bullet points will only ever leave you with a skin deep understanding of the concepts at a superficial level in my opinion

  48. Sukanya Gogoi-avatar

If you are running short of time due to work schedules and you still want to read a book, then its the best app !!

  49. Abi Edwards-avatar

This app is brilliant if you love reading, listening to audio books but never find the time to really sit down for a few hours and read. I personally find it great as I really love the idea of self improvement books but find them so hard to read and listen to. This app makes it possible.

  50. Nico Theuss-avatar

Great app to consume a variety of well condensed information in a short time. Obviously a 15 minute read doesn't do justice for all nonfiction books but is more than enough to cover the key messages of most. And if you really like the messages, you can always buy the book. Highly recommended

I love the new Blinkist Original : Checking In series. Before this, you have been helpful to give me quick bite of core ideas in many books that I don't have time to read. But this new series Checking In is so helpful & calming for my mind in this lockdown time. Thank you very much :D

Wow, what a great app. Really interesting idea! The app promotes highly effective life-learning in a quick, efficient and simple way. So enjoyable for those that love to learn but cannot always dedicate hours and hours every week to doing so. Definitely give this a try. I couldn't imagine anyone not loving this one! The settings are very straightforward with uniquely-smart customization options.

  56. Md. Islam-avatar

Content amazing! App needs upgrade. The summaries are spot on. At first I read the blinks of the books I actually read (top to bottom), only then I pulled the trigger to buy the one year premium. Love the contents. Saying that I subtract one star due to the app, to be more precise: the app struggles with syncing. 1. Abysmal sync between iOS and Android. 2. Once a book is read, you will never find it via search although the book has been downloaded and added to your library. library does not load

Wow, I am totally impressed. I did not realize how much growth this app contains until I was given a free premium account due to the corona virus. I know I downloaded it before because I was interested in knowing what it was about. I quickly deleted it to make room for something else. If I would of known or understood the value that is packed into this app it would of had a permanent position in my phone. Thanks for opening my eyes by extending a free premium account trial. I will subscribe .

  58. Anthony Vieira-avatar

I love reading but it's hard to keep up and even to find the good stuff and new works. Blinkist makes me aware of new material by sending recommendations and letting me know what's trending. The Blinks are easily digestible and I can tune in whenever a convenient moment arises. I can both listen and read at the same time. What's there not to like?

  59. R C-avatar

I really like this app. I would not pick up every book that is presented to me so I am widening my interests in exchange for very little effort since I can listen instead of reading. I would love to be able to save and listen again to the odd past blinks that have been available each day. Thank you.

Book recommendations could be more intuitive. However, it invariably offers a very pleasant, natural read. I think the people behind the scene are doing a great job. I have another similar app which is also widely popular. But I would prefer Blinkist any given day. Can't wait to have more books though...

  64. Ryan --avatar

Catastrophic. Misrepresentation at its finest. The developpers of the app want to make you believe that it is free to get you download the app, and that's what I did. But any book you click on pops up a "Free Trial" but still asks you your credit card details so that if you forget to unsubscribe, they can charge you the $70+ annual subscription fee (yes, it is clearly stated, I did not invent anything I just said). But I'll keep the app to know what good book to download REALLY for free later.

  65. Ursina Staub-avatar

I love this app!! Even if you do not have the premium version, you get one summary of a non-fictional book every day. You can listen to the summary or read them. Every book on this platform is a way to learn a new skill or learn about interesting topics. This way, you can learn something new everyday. With premium you get access to full audio books.

Never expected this much from Blinkist . The app comes with the option to listen to audiobooks even if you don't have the premium version of it( Atleast some of them ) . It is one of the best app for dedicative readers and I highly recommend to everyone trying to step to a new and wonderful life .

I love this app. 💓 For me, these books in brief serve as a savory introduction to the excellent nonfiction that has been published over the past two decades. Chances are, you will have such a hunger for the good material you will be compelled to consume it in full later. If you did not enjoy the Blinks, or main points, of the work, you were saved money by averting a blind purchase.

  68. Wanwan Yang-avatar

I love this app! It's so useful and interesting! Have numerous and varied book in the platform, also have the transcript would arrange in pairs with listening. But sometimes the speak seem too fast to understand. If the speed have microscale control would be better. Like 1.0/0.9/0.8/... Hope the developer can see this suggestion. Anyway, thank you so much for developing Blinkist!

  69. Ramprasad M-avatar

While this app does not give you the same experience as reading an actual book, I really appreciate the time and efforts put in by the creators to prepare the Blinks for each book . Blinks are well made, crisp and to the point , providing accurate segment by segment synopsis. Thank you for your efforts!

Nice app. You often waste a lot of time by reading whole books, and the realise 50% appealed useful to you, or 40% was something important for you to learn etc With this app, you can read blinks first, then select those books that are the most relevant you you. I gave it only 4* because imo it is too expensive, I would say it is maybe worth 60-70% of the actual cost.

It was recommended by an acquaintance and I'm in love with it! I actually really enjoy the basic ode for one reason - I don't preoccupy my mind with thinking what to read next and adding numerous books to my wishlist and never actually reading them. It's a limitation, but in a good way. Maybe think of smthn like that for the paid plan and I'll think about subscribing 😉😊

The idea is great, but the app needs more work. The audio player is bad. It interupts with every action, and even with a simple reopening of the app it stops and restarts the current blink. It's not practical. If I want to browse the app while listening, the player stops. Fix this because the idea is great.

Blinkist is absolutely fantastic. It has a wide range of non-fiction books and the best part t is, the audio quality is super-fine. I can sync the key messages with my Evernote account and use it later. Thanks for inventing such a wonderful learning plateform.

Good concept for an app but some technical improvements could make it better as an app. Things like allowing to remove things from your reading queue or allowing you to see what other titles this app offers while listening to an audio would be two massive improvements for this app.

As a voracious reader with limited time to set aside to read entire books, I've found the summaries in Blinkist to be very succint and the takeaway as beneficial as reading an entire book, although not quite as enjoyable simply because I love to immerse myself in the books I love. With that list being so long, I have yet to find a better alternative to gaining the knowledge I seek than Blinkist. Five stars and then some.

Blinklist is a great app for supplementing your walk, commute or workout routine with some snackable food for mind and soul. It is a great alternative to brain numbing social media or music play lists. If you prefer reading, Blinklist serves as a great intro to books and allows you filter content and make better decisions about buying the full version of the books.

It is a great educational app, however, the navigations are difficult to use. For example, after reading or listening to one book, that book re.mains stuck on the last page by default and is marked as already read. It took me a long time to figure out that one has to click the back arrow so as to go back to the first page. .

The thing about audio books is they appeal to people who don't want or have time to read but still value information books offer. This audio format maintains the insights that avid readers enjoy without losing the tone or message. For me it takes away the ambiguity of wanting to read a good book but putting it off because of job or other studies.

Update: I'm an idiot, there is a freemium version. Also I love how it chooses a daily blink for me. I end up learning about things I never would if I chose what to listen to. Original: I'm not gonna sign up for a 7 day trial that auto charges me for a full year after, sorry. That's way too short of a time to evaluate an app and in general i never sign up for free trials that auto charge if you don't cancel. If you had a freemium model i would try it out and potentially subscribe but nope. ✌️✌️

For a free service that clearly takes time to produce, I'm happy with the Cliff's notes versions of books I wouldn't normally read. I think the chosen books from a wide range of topics means I'm exposed to things outside my bubble. I don't have disposable income to pay for the full version but I can see the benefit. It's not a replacement for topics that you want to be an expert in (you'd have to read the book yourself) but it's good for hobbyists and curious minds.

TL;DR - App promised me a trial period of one week then charged me immediately upon sign up. Unless I read the sign up instructions completely wrong, the app promised me a trial period of one week, and prompted me to link my card details via Play store/GPay (which is standard for subscription apps). What was NOT standard: the app charged me as soon as I signed up. No trial period, despite being promised one. While the interface is excellent, I really only downloaded the app on a trial basis.

Love this app. This is the best one of all the book summary services out there. It's very well designed and user experience is really pleasant. It has a great dark mode - one of the best implementations of dark mode that I have come across on any platform. I have been using this service for the last 3-4 years and I have been continuously impressed with the content that gets refreshed regularly. Trust me and try this app. You won't be disappointed.

It's quick and straight forward. The price is $99 per year, so you might freak out when seeing that, but let's be honest, we probably spend that much a week on unhealthy food and alcohol -- or buying the physical book and reading maybe 20 pages before never returning to it.

  85. Alan Lupsha-avatar

Can't use app while it's playing, otherwise the audio stops. Can't go back to app while it's playing, audio also stops, can't resume, have to play from beginning. Whoever made this app for Android does not care about a good user experience.

The app itself is great but customer support doesn't exist...have email numerous times and nothing....just the we are super busy right now message.....three months later and more emails still nothing. My warning be aware it auto renews ...so cancel or change the set up when you sign up....very happy to hear from you blinkist. Happy to say post writing a poor review the customer service team have been intouch and offered me a refund...have moved my rating up from 1 to 3.

Blinkist is a wonderful app that helps you reading a summarized book in about 15 minutes everyday. It let you choose between an audiobook or a reader. Depending on your experience, both are perfect. I love grasping more knowledge this way and read as much as possible much faster than ever.

  88. Erica Minniti-avatar

There are several apps that claim to do the same and this one isn't the best. These aren't summaries they're book reports. I got the summary writers feeling on the topics but none of the knowledge I would've gained by reading the book - which makes this app useless. KI Book Club summaries are shorter and contain so much more factual information that can actually be absorbed for intelligent use.

i have the hardcopy version of books i listen on this apps, and after i compare it, the blinkist version really got the most important things you must know from the book and it really just take your time less than 20 minute. It really helpful and useful for people to stay update and improve knowledge but he/she is busy.

Its good, love the clarity of the reader and the way they summarize it, and I know it would be better if they could include ALL CHAPTERS in their summary. It would be helpful for the readers and do justice to the book.

Great app, the narrations are incredibly done, really professional (even though I prefer reading the blinks). Is a incredible app that serves amazing content, the fact that offers free daily picks makes me recommend it for everyone with a passion!!

The free trial (without giving cc info) during our pandemic is why I will pay for a subscription when all is back to normal. That says a lot about a company! I was using the service for about a month but only the free books when I heard about it from Boost, but I'm really e enjoying these other options.

  93. Keegan Lund-avatar

Love this app, and the free premium on right now is amazing. Thanks so much Blinkist team, quarantine wouldn't be the same without you! Would love to see an autoplay feature, so you can continually listen to entire audio shows without stopping to press play again on the next episode!

As an undergraduate writing big papers in my senior year while juggling other classes and activities, I really appreciate the Blinkist app because I can get the essence of the books I'm interested in citing and listen to 100+ books in the time that I'd spend listening to or reading a full book. As a student, I appreciate that it's free to listen to these blinks. Will consider paying for the other features when possible on my end. Wish you could bookmark small chunks like audible.

Easy to follow and voices are soft spoken. The books are quick enough to grasp a vast amount of knowledge and it gives the opportunity for you to read to you, or have books read to you. Which is perfect for when you're too tired to read.

I have had an ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE with this app. I tried to cancel a membership that my young cousin signed me up for, and when I asked for a refund, nobody responded. I do not use this app, or intend on using it in the future, especially because it has been over a month since I wrote that email. Now I am being billed $100 for a service I will never touch. I think it's very unprofessional!

  99. Ken Walker-avatar

When you find out how expensive this free app is you will be disappointed. As you login they get payment details from you and they say it is free for a few days and you can opt out. But so far I can't find a way to opt out. Feels like a trap.

I love this app a lot! I've been using the free version, and it give me great recommendations of different topics everyday. Though sometimes it used hard and complicated sentences, which makes it a bit difficult to understand. Thanks devs team :)
