This app takes forever to connect to the camera and show the feed. I have 4 nest cameras on the same network and they load in 3 seconds or less. This app is still loading while I type this. This Arlo app has always been slow but the cameras are so great I put up with it. Not anymore. They've had time to get on par with other camera apps (I've had Samsung, Amazon, Logitech and Nest apps to compare this to) and just haven't caught up. And yes, the app is still loading the live feed.

Easy to install over existing wiring. I did have a problem getting the cover to snap into the mounted base but eventually remedied that. Camera works as advertised, very responsive. When an object is detected, it actually seems to grab the second or two before the motion is triggered. Only 4 stars as the zones are rectangular and can't be rotated. My camera uses the angle mount that it comes with and my front step, driveway, lawn, etc are at an angle so rectangles don't fit neatly in the frame.

I've had 4 essential splotlight and 1 essential spotlight XL for 10 months. Everything was working fine until 2 or so months ago. All cameras drop from 90+ % battery, including the XL, to 10% battery all at once. They all then go off my network. I have to recharge all cameras and then reconnect them to my network. The cameras will work for about a week and do exactly the same thing again. This has happened 3 times now. Contacted customer support to just get a run around and no support.

To many issues with not being able to view picture on cameras . I've had cameras for some time , and Arlo is an excellent camera. To many problems with APP stating "not connected to internet " !!!!!??? Internet connection is EXCELLENT! App issues need to be resolved soon . Arlo is an excellent , excellent camera system . APP not so much !!

A $400 waste. The camera rarely sees a person in my yard even when they're in an activity zone. When it does alert me, it comes late and if I try to get live look at the camera the feed never loads until after what I'm trying to see is over. Plus the battery life is total trash. I'm on a ladder every few weeks to charge it up. If you're on the fence about buying this system, run away and get a competitor. Update 10/6/21: Recent update makes the cameras worse

Latest update is worse. Live view doesn't load. Settings & notifications require never ending log in loop It's a good thing Arlo doesn't market these cameras as a layer of security, or to have the ability to detect people on your property for you to be able to talk to them through the camera. Oh, wait. I get a notification of motion detected on my cameras. It then takes over 5 minutes for the app to load the live feed, or the detected activity which was recorded. Every update just gets worse.

Update: We've had these cameras for some time now. The issues that I identified in my initial review have either been addressed by the developers or minimized to a level that is inconsequential. For that reason, along with the performance and durability of the product itself, I rate it at 5 stars all day long and recommend it to all. Spend the money, you won't be disappointed.

I find that it's difficult to mute some of the notifications that I don't want to hear all day long when I'm on property. It's confusing to change some of the rules it's nothing that you can't figure out but seemingly it should be easier. Some actions just cannot be done . Geoffensing does not work correctly and setting dates and times is nearly impossible if you want it to record overnight instead of during the day.

Everything about the lag time is true. It'll take 3-5 seconds to load at which whatever was there is now gone. You pretty much need the subscription if you want continuous recording you have to pay an additional $10 per camera, even if you have local storage. Their support is horrible, they outsource it overseas. Sounds like the read off scripts for support and seem clueless if you deviate from that. DO NOT BUY ARLO!

App works, but it's got annoying functions. Like if the system isn't on ALL the time, you can't see clips, the floodlight won't turn on. And you can't turn on and off notifications in the program (just suppressing notifications for up to 24h). Using on and off on Android to turn the system on and off essentially. The cameras doesn't tape the whole "sessions" of things happening but clips of seconds, claims it's a max of like 3 minutes clips, but that never happens. Cuts them into 99 tiny clips.
