    The app used to work really well, but about a year ago they changed it and with every update it gets worse. Forget offline viewing. That no longer works. It loses its "certificate" and won't play your transfered recordings. When watching recordings it spends most time buffering. You can no longer advance the recordings past commercials. Like I said, it worker perfectly about a year ago. I'm ready to switch to another company completely. This service is partly what I'm paying for and it's useless

    app This app is literally the worst app. Everything mentioned below is true. Cannot watch live TV on the app like advertised. And no it's not my slow internet. I have 4g lte and high speed WiFi. Neither worked. Loaded every 5 seconds and was blurry. For as much as we pay for dish you'd think they'd actually do what they advertise. This is sad and like always, nothing will be done about it. Below average product by a below average company.

    /activate Even this latest updates, no CC!!! Before you mess this app up, closed captioning is set up through the setting. Now I have to set CC on each channels? That's friggin outrageous! It seem you don't give a hoot in how we, deaf customers, feel. I kept messing around to get CC working. One channel work and other don't work. I tested from TV to device. This app still suck! Test this app before you upload for upgrade. Sheesh... Get it fix or I'll file suit through ADA laws.

    .com/activate The update that just occurred for this app is wonderful! It fixed so many niggling problems with remote viewing from the DVR that I now happily give it a full 5 stars! Special thanks go to whoever decided to abandon the new player interface and go back to the old simpler, cleaner and intuitive one. Yay! Thank you Dish software team.

    roku Update... The app still sucks balls. You can't watch anything on your DVR or from the guide. Been 5 months and they still can't get it right. What a waste. The new update sucks bad. You can't watch anything without it buffering all the time. You can't hit record in anything you're watching or even record from the guide. The old app worked great but just like dish does everything else they made it useless. Don't waste your time til they fix it.

    app not working Horrible. Every update gets worse. It takes at least three or four hours to watch an hour show. Buffers about every five minutes and then finally locks up. I have to restart my device to get back to the dvr. As big a company dish is and as much as we pay monthly you would think dish could provide a decent app. I also have to uninstall/reinstall at least once a day. The only reason I gave a one star is because there are no minus stars.

    on firestick The last month or so I was not able to use this app because of the update. I received another update a week ago and it fixed the problem. I have been using the app with no problems for about a week. I just received another update and downloaded it and guess what lt stopped working again. I am very upset now will you please stop with these update that do not work. If you get it back working again please stop with the updates that don't work.

    app for pc I am getting fed up with this app not working right. The original one did not have any of these problems. I would like to watch my DVR while I am running around doing homework and I can't get it to work after i press the show I am wanting to watch. Doesn't do a damn thing once it's supposed to stream. Please fix this so I can watch my DVR and not have to make my 15 month old daughter have to get of my main TV to watch my shows. She likes her baby first Station with all her favorite characters.

    not working I'm not sure what's gone wrong with this app. I've watched DISH Anywhere from Dallas to the coast and all around Europe and from my hospital bed here in Texas with no issues at all. However lately no matter what I do here from my home I can't play any recordings from my DVR. This is so from frustrating!I'll reserve any explatives I would truly love to share but I'll be nice.

    streaming problems Garbage!!! Try to pair, doesn't work, try to login, DOESN'T FREAKIN WORK!!! like WTH man!! Uninstall and reinstall, still does not work.     My remote broke so I down loaded this app. It freezes , I have to sign out and sign in many times for it to work , I have to take it off my phone and install it over and over and then it only works a few times before it stops working and I have to repeat the procedure over again , I ordered a new remote and I am looking forward to taking this app off my phone for good ,

    The most recent update to this app his horrible, the buttons to fast forward or rewind are tiny and have to hit them just right, load times once you FF 30 sec is super long and half the time when I click on a show to watch in the DVR or Prime Time Anytime it plays something different but works fine through the receiver on my tv. Please bring back the old version of the app or fix this one.

    Horrible app now. Used to work ok but new version cannot "log in" without an internet connection. Hard to do on a plane or traveling in a car. This version also has repeated "license needs to be updated" issues which also require that you are connected to the internet. This is unusable. The older version worked much better. Dish Network should be able to make an app that works.

    Please make the app the app the way it used to be. This new format is terrible. Everything lags, the skip forward and back are too close together and too small. It freezes up quite often. Always tells me I have someone else watching remotely and asks me if I want to take over video. I can check my tuners and no one is viewing remotely. Go back to the way the app used to be before this last major change. This is so frustrating, along with several other things, considering dropping dish.

    Samsung Verizon Tab E? Forget it! Got this used tablet from a friend and it doesn't work with DISH. To go back 10 seconds takes 12 or more unlike the Fire tablet there's no option to restart from left off of TV or tablet. It's just not usable at all I'm going back to my Amazon Fire tablet. After giving it the best environment being next to the router and having hit the factory reset it is very sluggish and just incredibly frustrating.     It was nice and easy a few months back. Then came 'improvements'....and now its a nightmare. FF or rewind goes intk a freeze or black screen. You have to shut the app because nothing works after that. Very very annoying. I have more than 300 recordings of a particular show. I cannot open freezes. I have to go through transfers which takes a lot of time. Once i have watched, i cannot go back to recordingd to delete them what a pain. I gave 1 star but it is zero.

    Does not have a direct link to chromecast you have to mirror your screen on android and after every use you have to remove the app reinstall it and login otherwise the video will show on your device but not on the mirror, only a black screen, I can help them resolve the issue but they are not willing to allow me to help. Tried my friends Direct TV app works perfectly on my Note 5 switching over soon

    The Guide is not correct with some of the things I watch. Also I don't know how to get the quality better. I'm getting SD instead of HD. In my opinion Spectrum's app is way better. But I have both and most people don't. Also it asked me if I wanted to rate the app 5 stars. Nice way to assume something Dish and that's why you get a 1 instead of a 3.

    Despite the fact that a previous version of the app never buffered it now does almost every few minutes. It is not my network that is defective it is the latest version that is now screwed up. Fix it. I pay a fortune for my Dish subscription and Dish Anywhere is suppose to be a working part of what I'm paying for

    The app rarely works. I cannot fast forward or exit a program unless I close the app completely. I have to watch all commercials of my favorite recordings. The more I have recorded the more difficult it is to view the shows. I cannot pause the program I am watching otherwise it will stop working or skip forward and miss parts of the television shows I recorded. The app on the Android devices do not work. I might be able to watch one show, if I want to go to something else I have to exit the app.

    Garbage. Avoid. Don't waste your time. You'll have more success watching tv by connecting rabbit ears to your smartphone or tablet. The techs don't even care. They just say "yes there's a problem and we're working on it ". Um, since the great update when it screwed it up? You better fire those people.

    I would have giving them a ZERO rating if I could. You get a ZERO! 1) You can't pause this app, at least not for a long period. 2) The app losses connection all the time, even if I have full Wi-Fi signal 3) Who design a button for skipping next to a recording button? Mind you that these buttons are small 4) After every update I have to go renter my credentials.

I had to find an old version and download it. Forced to make updates manually so that it doesn't overwrite. Why is this so hard for Dish to reset?

    Well, looks likes Dish is starting to correct the problems with this app. There still needs to be more work because it buffers all the time. The good news is the forward and back buttons are now big enough to touch. Keep up the good work you might rate 5 stars before long.

    This app just got worse it's runs like garbage I don't know why but it does. It was a Great app intill it updated and changed use it all the time at lunch fun and convenient. Now there's always something the matter. You can't use it with Chromecast by Google the cast over your onto your TV. Which really is quite a downside.

    9.23 update -3 stars app got a lil better..-5 stars as of 7.11 update. App is even more trash go back to pre covid version. I think imma just delete the app........Latest update as of 6.1.20 That update is wacc because you can no longer be watching a channel and then go to the guide without having to stop what your watching.. outside of that update is good.. but that's a MAJOR FACTOR.. now you can't even have the option of choosing " play on device or play on tv"

    Horrible. Isn't able to cast. What's the point of Dish anywhere if I can't cast it to the TV in the room?! Streaming ability has issues to maintain a continuous delivery! Navigation = a "bit" to-be-desired: I can't search for a channel ...when I don't know the number results just give shows or episodes. ex: I wanted to hear what Fox News was saying about the first Presidential Debate... But I couldn't even find the Fox news channel...because when I tried skimming.. didn't allow past 131

    Videos load fine, and there aren't many bugs that I can see, but the app is LITTERED with ads. I was trying to watch Airplane Repo, and after about 30 minutes there have been 3 ad breaks, with like 4 ads each, and then when it got near the end, it gave me an ad break with 8 LONG ADS, THEN IT LET ME WATCH ABOUT 30 SECONDS, THEN ANOTHER AD BREAK WITH 7 LONG ADS! That ruined the experience.

    I don't understand ... I was able to watch live and from my DVR on my notebook. NOW I get black screens with sounds and constantly reloading. This now happens when I'm on the road and using my office Wi-Fi can't figure out how to fix it, AUGH!!! I just want to fix it

    App crashes when selecting a program to record from sports menu. When streaming from dvr audio & video are often non synchronous (by 10-20 seconds or more). App freezes when streaming Previous versions worked much better. The skip forward & back icons are so close the "x" (close) icon that you inadvertently close the app when trying to skip forward or back. Previous versions had these controls on the bottom.

    You are very lucky if you get this app to play a live program. Whenever you tap on play it will get stuck in a "LOADING" screen no matter how many times you close the app. I've even tried cleaning the Cache and closing every other app. Nothing work.

    The app works fine enough for me, but the ads are ENDLESS. I'm not mad about having ads, but the amount isn't worth the time it takes to watch the show. I have literally stopped watching shows because it's like I'm stuck watching only ads.

    Still can not use app. Not only do you have to pair it every time but now when you click on something to watch out brings up a black screen and that's it. Uninstalled and installed several times and never works. Oh well, back to DirecTV

    It is very difficult to use this app due to the fact that it buffers very often, even on a full wifi signal. It used to work much better, but since this "update" it hasn't been working properly. I am very dissappointed!

    The app is much slower now and the interface is less user friendly. Before the major upgrade my experience was good. Now I often struggle to watch shows on the app with constant buffering. I do not have buffering on any other of my streaming apps.

    It works great on my phone but when I use it on my laptop in my bedroom it pauses and freezes a lot. I'm only one room away from my living room receiver. During a half hour show it freezes at least 3 times.

    Third update installed since I told you about the problems created by April update. Still no way to choose which receiver or joey. No way to choose whether to watch or set or device. You obviously dont care. If your programmers did what I use to do they would have kept the original code. And when told of the problem reverted back to the original code. You should do both alpha and beta test with users .please fix issues

    My grandkids stay with me and my boyfriend has no tv at his house. So I installed this app to watch movies I recorded or series I am binge watching. But no matter what I do or how I log in I cant connect to my DVR. I would love to keep it if it worked. But not worth it.

    Dish is screwing its loyal subscribers again. Now I have to have a hopper to use Dish Anywhere. I've been using my 722 receiver for years with the Sling adapter that Dish MADE ME BUY to watch my programming on the go. Now Dish has turned off the ability to do that with the receiver I have. It says I have to upgrade to the hopper which just so happens would raise my monthly DVR fee from $7 to $15 a month. No gonna happen for me. Looks like Dish would take care of their loyal subscribers.

    Dish Anywhere version 20.3.40 will not open live shows on Samsung Galaxy Tab E with latest software version. Just get black screen. Prior version worked well. Dish Anywhere is working on other Samsung Galaxy Tab A running 20.3.40.

    Doesn't work unless you are on the SAME wifi network as your DVR. Even then you have to completely download the content you want to watch, there is no way to stream it from your "DISH Anywhere"

    Works well However, for the Google Tv version, it would be nice to have FAVORITES AS AN OPTION in the guide so we don't have to scroll through all the channels instead of seeing the ones that we want like we can have on the tv.

    Terrible, the only way i can use it is with wifi. I have great service but it never connects through my phone internet. On top it always cuts off or app will close all entirely. Dont waste your time!

    Just did the update and now it won't pair with the hopper. Tried putting in the IP address and it says it is wrong! Can't log on at all!! I should have read the reviews before doing the update!

    Why did you ruin your app with updating! Fastword or skip is useless. The delete is horrible on my recordings. Plus if I delete shows I watched on my TV they are still in my app! When are you going to fix it? It continues loading when I do hit the 30 second skip and I have to close out of it. Watching my recordings were great until you decided to ruin this app. Now I have recordings but the screen is blank when I go to them! What the heck happened! Nothing I recorded can be watched on the app!

    Worst app ever. It says Improvement but it is so unfriendly to utilize. For instance when you try to fast-forward through the commercials, or when you rewind. It takes forever to load so you might as well just watch the commercials. VERY disappointed. I mean we DVR things so we don't have to watch commercials and we can fast-forward through them but with this app it's just easier to watch them. -1 rate. The last app needed improvements but come on... I would rather have the old one back.

    This app sucks, plain and simple! If the app even opens consider yourself lucky. And if it does you're constantly has to be paired, which is a outrageous bc you're usually not anywhere near your receiver when you want you use the app. And if both of those do work the lag is terrible no matter what wifi or data you're running or picking up. Its just embarrassing! I'd rather go to straight streaming services, at least they have their servers and app issues under control.

    This is a downgrade from the previous app. Loading takes forever. You can't see the close captions on your screen. Not cool.If this is supposed to be an update, that developer robbed you to the bank. This really started out as a great cable company. Now you dropped HBO & showtime, we just got The CW after 2 months. Now youre app for android is awful One more problem and im leaving Dish.

    I have not been happy with the new app at all. All it does is freeze up and you cant watch your show. Any time you try to fast forward the the commercials it stops working, just says Loading, and you have to restart the app. Then it does the same thing. I tried to uninstall then reinstall, still doesn't work. Very disappointed and never get to watch my shows I DVR'd.

They lost CBS again, movie reviews are incomplete - just tells you to take the rating seriously. They used to be better. Now the whole service stinks, this app is just an example.

    Gave up on using this broken app. I went back to using the old version before they screwed it over with the new design. The previous app version works beautifully. Connects to my receiver fast and starts streaming without buffering issues. If anyone is interested the previous app version before they broke the app is v6.6.12. Anything after that version is broken AF.

    Horrible. Always timing out have to reconnect multiple times never plays right. Really bad update lots of bugs. Bad app. Update. App is still even worse with new update. Everytime I try to change the channel on the guide it says error. Then I have to spend 5-10 min resetting the app, clearing the cache, restarting my internet connection, restart phone or tablet and even then sometimes it doesn't work. Over all it is a really bad mobile app I wouldn't use if I had alternative. FIX THE BUGS

    This new dish app is horrible. It's very close to unusable. Random app closes and error messages. The skip buttons are so small they are unusable and if you miss the button it pauses the video and switches the video out of landscape mode. You would think with as much money we pay ($150+ a month) for dish service that you could afford to have the best apps and services for us. Please fix this terrible app.

    This is the worst app ever! No matter what device I try to use it on (laptop, iPad, or phone), it L-A-G-S or just doesn't start up. And it doesn't matter if you are on Wi-Fi or cellular network. Forget trying to rewind using the 10 second back arrow - better not miss a single word! C'mon! For the money that we pay for our cable access, you'd think you could make this app work better. I have no similar issues with any other TV show app (CBS, NBC, Acorn TV, Britbox, etc.) PLEASE fix whatever you need to to solve the crappy quality of this app. Thank you.

    Worse app ever! I can't wait til my contract is over. I'm so done with Dish! I'll pay the extra for Comcast. They don't have nearly as many problems as Dish. Something is always wrong with this app. I call customer service and they say uninstall it and reinstall, which works sometimes but who wants to keep having to do that every time they open the app?! Then it stays connected a few seconds at a time. Every movie or show i try to watch it does the "loading" thing EVERY few seconds!!

    Garbage since the update! Was awesome before, now most of the time can't log in, can't watch channels of you're rec anymore. Picture quality seems to always be in low res. I'd give it negative stars if possible. Considering leaving Dish. It's nothing but problems anymore and disputes with channels I pay for but can't recieve.

    The new version is awful!!! I keep waiting for it to get better but its not!!! I travel a lot for my job. I used to record things i could listen to while i travel that didnt involve having to watch the show. Now it doesnt show up for days. In the middle it will rebuffer and disconnect from my account and dvr. Its TRASH!!! oh forget fast forwarding. Its not gonna happen. Honestly it is making me reconsider keeping DISH its gotten so bad. Im not home much to watch there.

    Update: I hate this new app! CC doesn't work, can't skip, doesn't sync w/ DVR. B4 could pull down to refresh. Orig: I am a long time user of the Dish Anywhere App and I've got to say the new app is a piece of crapola, it needs a lot of tweaking. I opened the new App and thought 'oh how nice, it looks awesome' but then I tried to use it and quickly found this new version was not user friendly. I am sending an email because I can't reduce the flaws found in this version down to 500 characters.

    The older version worked great. This version is awful. Multiple Login problems. Weak and dropped signals. The controls are less user-friendly. The home screen is cluttered. And it won't work unless I give permissions not required on older versions. I wish I could download the previous version. Sometimes it's better to leave well enough alone. I'm VERY dissatisfied.

Once it finally starts playing there is no way to stop it without killing the app. App only works for browsing the guide. It took a long time for them to get the last version right but it worked.     06/15/20 update to my previous post. App never works. When I go to watch a show on a channel it is stalls, freezing,then it starts loading so you have missed half your show. You go out of the app go back in into and the channel is blank and nothing is showing. Worst app ever. When you are streaming on your tablet or phone it is consistently freezing and has to load so you miss half the show you are watching. That has become very annoying.

    The app does not show all the videos that I have recorded on the dvr. Also, it shows episodes that i believe should be available on demand, but when I click on them, they do not play. Also, the skip ahead and skip back buttons are not in a convenient location and when you click on the buttons, they are not very responsive. In short, I want the old app back.

    The new android update is terrible, My dvr recordings should be available immediately. I shouldn't have to wait hours for it to pop up. The fast forward and rewind button needs to be spaced out and bigger. You shouldn't have to be forced to sit through 5 or 6 commercials when watching prime time. The app was just fine the way it was, I'm very disappointed.

    As usual when Dish updates an app it doesn't work. New app doesn't show most recently recorded shows (only shows from previous days) and has terrible Wifi connections, always buffering. New format on DVR shows listed is not user friendly. Dish should have left it alone! Rewind and fast forward "buttons" are totally misplaced at the top of the screen and are placed so close together on the phone that you can't hit one without hitting the other. Please DISH, go back to the app that was user friendly and actually worked!

I can't forward through commercials, When i watch something it constantly freezes, and you can't watch a show where you last left off. You literally have to restart from the beginning.     Newest Android version terrible (prior to 5/28/2020) . Doesn't show all your recordings in your hopper DVR. Doesn't refresh, 16 hours behind. A BIG STEP BACKWARDS! Update of 5/28/2020 solved NOTHING and may have made things worst! Don't you guys test these things? Update on 6/4/20. Still many issues. Gets better and then worse. The DVR issues are back. Doesn't update in real time. "Resume" doesn't exist. Fast forward and reverse buttons too small and not responsive. Difficult to exit back. 7/14

    Up until about 2 weeks ago I could watch with no problems, it worked great. I tried to use it a couple of days ago and it now has no video or audio. I can use the quite and it will set the dvr timer. I called dish and the young man tried his best to get it working to no avail. Later I decided to reinstall the app. Now it tells me this app may not work with my device????? My tablet is not that old. Very disappointed, used this app a lot. 😣

    App is horrible. 3 months since posting. Dish has done very little to improve this app. This version locks up and must be stopped/restarted. On screen icons are small and often do not function correctly. Now it even will not connect . "Now it says reciever is offline, which is not correct ". When it works it spends majority of the time spooling.

I have had no issues for 2 years. I hate that dish keeps removing channels off the air but still is lots of money. Now the app is not working I am thinking it might be time to change companies.     This app is by far the worst I've ever used to stream any kind of videos. I constantly have to log back in every couple of days. When you click out of the app while your show is on a commercial and return moments later or even an hour later, the app won't let me return to live TV. So watching sports is horrible if you feel the need to open another app while your waiting for the game to come back on. In the middle of watching TV the app will stop your show and day its reconnecting.

Please tell me how to go back to the previous version!!! New version 7/23.     New App is TERRIBLE! The old app was great. I could watch shows from the Hopper on my tablet via WiFi all over the house. It was clean and efficient and the streaming quality was very good. This new app is just the opposite. It only streams via the internet. This means that the content must go from the Hopper consume my limited upload speed and then come back on download to my tablet IN THE NEXT ROOM! Whoever did this should be fired. It makes the app slow to respond and streaming is glitchy. :(

    This new app is TERRIBLE!!!.I just got the Galaxy S10 Plus and I never should have updated it thinking it was better. Not only can I not bring up all the settings the old version had, the new app continuously crashes and wants me to reconnect until it times itself out! I cant even watch Recorded Programs until 24 Hours Later!!! Error Codes one right after the other! NOW IM STUCK WITH THIS TERD! I think after reading all the reviews it's consistently saying bring back the old version that worked!

    Aweful, absolutely aweful! I can not pause, fast forward, skip back, stop or even play after the first time I push the play button. I started a show, needed to pause it but had to close the app to stop the show. I went back later to finish it and it wasn't there, it was on a show I think came on after the one I wanted to watch. Dish is getting more and more expensive with channels being removed from programming, and the few shows I can still watch, I can't, because of this terrible app.

    Horrible! The old app was much better! I use HughesNet for my internet provider and AT&T as my carrier so I expect SOME problems with streaming especially with high demand times but I haven't been able to get more than 1 or 2 minutes out of a hour show. If that. App opens, selects, shows connected, loading and starting streaming, but that's the end of it. It might start playing after a minute but stops after 3 or 4 seconds. Might start again for 3 or 4 more. Usually freezes completly after that!

    The new update is trash! Had finally gotten the old version working right and then they did this. The screen options don't work so you can't see what you'd like to watch. Now it's a freaking exploration to find live TV instead of the live TV button that was there. It takes forever to load video. The buttons are now tiny and you can't access the guide or DVR buttons unless you exit out of everything and go back to the homescreen. * Update Aug 5, 2020* Still doesn't work!

I get kicked out and have to log back in all the time, 3 times in the past 24 hours, and half the time it won't let you log in it just stays on the dish screen, on top of all the buffering, poor video quality, and many Many other problems.     For the most part, the app works well . Only had one issue where I had to reset the hopper while away from home. The biggest disappointment is only one person can use the app at a time. It does not matter whether streaming live channels or viewing the DVR. There are times when the sound does not work on the Android app and I must reboot my phone. I switched to Dish from DirecTV specifically for the app to view content away from home. Still disappointing, but better than DirecTV.

    You keep making updates where changes don't need to be made! You used to be able to decide whether to watch on the device, or on the TV. Can't choose TV anymore. App's remote will not turn on the television either. Only the hopper box turns on with the power button. Stop fixing things that don't need to be fixed!

    Since the last update this app is absolute trash. The video player is ridiculous and literally if anything else happens on my phone it freezes and I have to get all the way out of the app and back in. Everything takes absolutely forever to load. If you try to skip forwarded or go back it freezes. No episodes that I've watched on my DVR actually show on the app and vice versa whether it be things I've recorded or on demand programs it doesn't matter if I'm in my house on the same WiFi.

    Older version worked instantly with no buffering, stopping/starting several times per minute, channel list was also much more user friendly. This version does all things badly. Shows suggested for me are something I would absolutely not watch. Who determines my recommendations anyway? I would like to recommend something for them! To add to my review I cannot pause rewind or fast forward my DVR I can't do anything your app is completely unusable please restore app to what it was before this previous update or like I said I will be canceling my service
