My favorite FTP client app. Using it exclusively for 5+ years. Can reliably download and upload folders recursively. I love it. Recently I had some issues after the latest update. The developer was super helpful and we could solve the issue very quickly. Thank you. I also recommend the "AndFTP Pro Version" with SYNC feature and ad-free. Two thumbs up.

  2. Hammad Ul Haq-avatar

The best ftp client on android tbh. The only problem is theres no way to move files around on the server from the client. When i do need to do that (which is pretty rare) i have to login with another client which is pretty annoying considering i wont switch from this app because of the absolutely amazing and robust sync feature. Please look into that dev

  3. Justin-avatar

Works perfect. Only one that allows me to actually ftp practically anything to my ps3 with hen. I have to be fast in choosing the location and the file to upload but once it's going it's going. 10 out of 10 Matt Damons in dogma

  4. Joey Husband-avatar

Used a few times, currently having issues with the app closing/signing out when the screen goes off making most uploads/downloads impossible. Is there a way to fix this? Would be 5 stars even for the free version if that can be sorted. *Big thanks for the reply guys

  5. anlsm meh-avatar

The app asks often where to store a file although it should know it. I ghave to go to setup and press Save without chaning anything. It also forgets me resume option. If I select Always next time it will ask me again.

  6. Paulos Paulos-avatar

Great, but crashes on foreign file names. Minor bug, but a major problem for me. In particular, if the file has a name with a "accented grave a" in the name (e.g. "Libertà"), the transfer will crash.

  7. Andrey Pavlov-avatar

It works fine but for some reason always saves files to root of the internal stage... Even if I specify a different folder (on internal storage as well as on sdcard). Please, fix it.

Downloading to external SD no longer works on Android 10, UI is seriously dated (but fully functional and gets the job done). Otherwise working great for me.

  9. Matthew Warren-avatar

it works great, but if you leave a download in the background it sometimes disconnects.

  10. Cheng Yi-avatar

Got some problems with the last update, but the support helped me solve them! Currently using the app without any complains.

  11. PHN 789-avatar

Worked fine prior to april 2020 update... now says application stopped immediately after tapping icon... need to find another ftp app..

This is the only FTP program that works for me, and it works perfectly. Thanks very much.

  13. Bijay Dey-avatar

Its good. But don't support in landscape orientation. Got support by email too.

Finally a client that works.. no limits, easy to setup. If you need a functional FTP Client search no more..

  15. Ellis D.-avatar

An excellent client to access my sFTP server. Simple, yet exactly what I wanted.

Pretty good app with minimal interface and basic functions for quick FTP access.

The app does what I expect this kind of app to do, but the UI seriously needs a refresh.

I have been using this app for a long time, but once i selected some log files and try to delete them, all files in my ftp server were deleted (not only the log files i had selected). Im glad i had a backup of the files on my pc. Since that happend i never used that app ever again.

used to work very well. have the pro version too. but now, crashes consistently at startup on my honor 8x , with the same old emui/android version. tried uninstalling and reinstalling, uprading emui/android to no avail. this app has had its days. RIP. ahmen! where is your company located?

    2020-01-27T02:04:24.291Z

It works, it's intuitive, and it supports batch transfers, but that's about all I can say for it. It sends a LOT of unnecessary commands to the server (CWD before every transfer I can maybe excuse, but LIST after every file while doing a batch upload? Really?) and it's appallingly slow. During large batch uploads, there are big gaps between files as if it's iterating O(n) over every file it's already sent. This can get up to multiple seconds with 100 files or so.

  33. Frater Mus-avatar

Generally works as expected. BUT the "screen rotation kills connection" bug is brutal. It's bad enough I'm tempted to use something else even though I bought the AndFTP Pro option. Also, any loss of connection causes the app to get stuck in a useless state and requires reopening it, thus losing your place in the app, selections, etc. Suggestions: * better "resume" functionality. I can't tell if AndFTP is trying to resume a partial file (good) or overwrite a complete file (bad). * "download/upload + delete on success", a la WinSCP would be great. Especially since AndFTP clears selections after transferring Ughhhh, WHILE I was typing this review AndFTP crapped out for an unknown reason and will require a restart. Boo!

  34. Col Hardy-avatar

Unable to upload a single file though it started ok albeit slow (238kB/s vs 1800kB/s for another ftp client) failed with either IOException or a java file read on a galaxy s8. 2 stars as it is probably device specific fault and looked ok apart from not working at all.

  35. John Hernandez-avatar

It's ok for transferring files to my PlayStation 3. It's expected to be slow, but I'm happy it works fine. But sometimes it doesn't want to connect

  36. ROO STERS-avatar

Can't fault it so far. Largest file I've transferred is about 1.5GB and I've never rotated my screen during a transfer. Used in the past too never a problem :-)

A nice light-weight app for doing exactly what I need it to do. It connects to my Synology SFTP server and mirrors the files to the SD Card. I was able to set up a one-way mirror in the free version. If sync is still limited to the pro version, that might mean two-way synchronizations. If you have file names with foreign characters be sure to change the character set in the advanced settings to UTF-8 (or whatever character set you need). Otherwise this app will silently change your filenames to fit within the specified character set. It does not warn you first. The scheduled synchronization feature will suffice. I would prefer an option to trigger synchronization when it gets plugged in for charging.

  39. Todd Marshall-avatar

Just having the app installed causes my phone to barely charge. After uninstalling everything was back to normal.

As an FTP works perfectly, but the SYNC feature does not work (scheduled transfer never happens), unclear which features are premium, this perhaps? Until I know, cant decide

  41. Ben H.-avatar

the app worked wonderfully for what I wanted to use it for, transferring files to a Homebrew 3ds, but after I started using it I began to get weird pop-ups on my phone that said they were clearing up space on my phone or optimizing battery without any input from myself, and all of them contained an ad for Google Fi. The app is wonderful, but as these pop-ups went away when I uninstalled the program and rebooted my phone, I'm afraid I can't really trust it.

  42. Gary Brav-avatar

Really the classic and straightforward interface and the diverse options makes this ftp client app the best of all ftp apps.

  43. Thomas Pfeifer-avatar

gets the job done! (works on my ancient phone, and does SCP too) My only complaint: while it is uploading a file it shows which file it is on, although if you're, say, uploading a bunch of image files, it spends more of it's time on the "upload starting" screen for each image and it can be hard to catch when it says "n files left".

Phonomenal. Connects to my routers ftp server flawlessly. i dont know why this app doesnt have better reviews. yes the ui may look a tad intimidating but for the functionality and simplicity this app brings, its worth it. Anyone who is having problems with dropping the connection, its probably your connection to your ftp server. I can access my ftp server both locally(LAN) and externally. so yeah... If i can work this high as a kite, anyone sober can do this easily

  45. Igor Chudov-avatar

I would love to rate it 5 star. However, I cannot do so because this app just is not reliable for multi-file transfers. Let's see. At relatively random moments, such as when android screen blinks, screen orientation changes or some such, the bulk transfer becomes STUCK. At this point there is no button to make it unstuck, re-continue etc. all I get is a stuck andftp window. There is no working CANCEL or RECONNECT button. And I have to kill andftp and start again. Today, for example, andftp became stuck simply because I laid the phone on my wireless charger. I fully gave up on using FTP protocol and use SCP, which made it better because it eliminated FTP command channel timeouts. However, even with SCP, the app becomes stuck and unusable for completely spurious reasons like screen changes.

Great app. I've bought full version and it's really "Must have". It can sync predefined folder in one touch (it even has widget with "sync" button!). It has "resume download" option (works both ways). Your 5th star: When very large folder is synced trough weak 3G, connection breaks (that's ok) I get "sync report": not all files were uploaded. Then I SHOULD press "Sync" AGAIN to resume uploading. Why not to add "Auto retry" checkbox in settings with unlimited retries?

  47. Timothy Smalls-avatar

Had a problem getting some thin client devices talking to a FileZilla ftp server in our DMZ,.... downloaded this to my phone to simulate an external user, and got it working, was then a snip to replicate on the thin devices.

Solid app. Only complaints are the UI is quite old-android style and hence a bit ugly and hard to use - it could do with a bit of a makeover, but overall a solid app.

  49. Voxel Buster-avatar

The app is very good for single file transfers, but is awful for any bulk transfers, as any small error in your connection will stop the entire queue, which is inevitable on a device that can't have a wired connection. There is no resume/auto resume feature for uploads and if the connection is broken you have to back all the way out and reconnect manually. FTPS support is also very poor and has trouble connecting to my server which I haven't had a problem with any other ftp client.

  50. Art W-avatar

I will give you five stars if you can correct the display of file names in Thai characters. At the moment they are garbled -- while your other app andSMB works fine with Thai file names.

  51. David Seifert-avatar

I've got multiple androids and a couple pc's that I've tried for years to network together in a comfortable manner and now I've finally found half my solution. the other half of course is the simple to use ftp server app. of course Filezilla in my Windows computers too. I've even configured one pc as an internet accessible ftp server as well as one android as well. I can upload files from my phone anywhere in three world to my other android tv box. It's awesome

  52. Tobias Smith-avatar

does not seem to support TLS resume. good app for less secure ftp servers

  53. A Google user-avatar

I think it's overated.... It doesn't even download the files from the server... For me to login I had to use a browser in desktop mode(chrome) then try to open files with it but it still failed....Am now considering ssh as it's even more secure though it's a complete remodeling

  54. Gaurav Magoon-avatar

Please fix the code so it doesn't throw errors to users. it's annoying. And please allow users to be able to change the ftp connection name in settings. That feature is badly required! Please! Only then I will give more stars. Thanks.

Faster than the other apps that I used. this saturates my connection while other FTP apps were only using a fraction of it. Make sure to turn off battery optimization to prevent the background process from being killed off in the middle of a download!

  56. Skyler Link-avatar

She ain't pretty, but she gets the job done. Function over form and I'm not complaining, great app. It uses an old Android UI, but it works great. Some small banner ads, but those don't bug me for a great free app and there's no fullscreens pop-ups or anything.

I primarily used this app to back my phone up every night. The syncing scheduler appears to no longer work, and manually syncing seems to stop as soon as the screen cuts off or the app loses focus. Not usable for anything other than single file transfers

  58. Eric Green-avatar

It has an easy to use user interface, BUT: It doesn't retry upon a failed transfer. It just aborts the whole multi-file transfer. Useless given the realities of crappy Internet access. Maybe okay for transferring one file from one local server. But that's it.

FTP and SFTP connection are very slow. Don't working properly on background.

  61. Paul Kienitz-avatar

Occasionally uploads incorrectly — it seems to sometimes "resume" inappropriately and fail to overwrite earlier parts. This may happen more when uploading multiple files. I'll try turning off Resume support. Also, it constantly forgets your choice of sort order.

  62. Steve J-avatar

Works, but local device navigation sucks. Internal storage doesn't show up, so if you navigate out of it, you can't navigate back normally. The only way to get back to it is by going back all the way.

  63. Clinton Reese-avatar

I like the fact that it's a free app, however, it did lose connection a lot and it always overheated my battery. It put my phone in an endless rebooting Loop. Once my phone finally rebooted I uninstalled the app and my phone has been working fine ever since.

  64. Ravi K-avatar

Very un intuitive UI. Even after I selected the SD card as the default local directory, it defaults to the main drive once I login to the FTP server. With no way to navigate to the SD card subfolder.

  65. Rohit galani-avatar

On my running site , There is some technical problem generated and i have to solve it immediately. But I can't access PC for access remote Files of my site. Using this app we can access remote pages and config it. And Problem solved. Thank You.

  66. Yannick Thijs-avatar

Works well but I have a question. Is there a way to stop it from downscaling the images I upload to the server. I upload high quality images but when I compare file sizes and the actual quality of the images the ones on the server are lower in both regards.

  67. Neil Channen-avatar

Very slow determining which files to sync, then fails to copy any file to SD card.

  68. A Google user-avatar

Small footprint, ads are not intrusive, works. Why do I need a 15MB waste of space when this does the job for less than 2. Good app.

  70. Bruno Raoult-avatar

i enjoyed using it until i understood symlinked files on server are not supported, and considered as directories on andFTP (which tried to "cd" to this symlink instead of just opening it. I will find another sftp client for this unique reason.

  74. Jon Cooper-avatar

Great app. Does what it says. Flipping brilliant, actually!!

  75. Richard Mace-avatar

Pathetic as only allows for one connection at a time. I have 3 servers but can only connect to one at a time. App will also only process 1 file transfer per session. Bought the 'pro' version thinking it might be better but no, useless, avoid at any cost.

  76. Wall Fur-avatar

I managed to get file off a dying phone that has no removable storage, but it didn't preserve any of the file dates so now I have to guess how old my kid was in his baby videos. At least the photos have the timestamp inside the file, but it still messes up sorting directories by date.

Could not successfully batch transfer files over SCP or SFTP, would disconnect with an error after transferring around 5 to 10 selected files. Completely insufficient for transferring a dated archive of over 10,000 files.

  80. Alberto Villar-avatar

Awful. Easy to configure but that's all. It keeps disconnecting and getting "broken pipe" on any FTP conmand after a successful login. I'm on Android for a MIA1.

  84. Argus-avatar

Yes this works as it should. Nevermind the people saying otherwise, I tried other apps and came back to this because it actually works like ftp should.

I install it on my Tv Box TX2, but Unfortunately, when I open the app, the layout is completely blank. There is no option to use the app, not even a field to fill.

A very nice little FTP app. Easy to get to grips with and easily let's me transfer photos/files from mobile to server. 👍 Great!!

Syncing manually works great. Auto Sync doesn't work at all. The app doesn't even attempt to sync.
