I'm curious to see how this application will evolve. I've been using add block on my computer for a while now and every now and then I would disable it in order to support the website. I agree that most adds are really annoying, but some others are ok and help the developers. I love the desktop application and I want to love this app, but there is plenty of room for improvement.

This app works, sort of. Initially it took some time to recognize ads, especially on YouTube. Eventually it did a pretty good job blocking majority of the ads I was encountering. Unfortunately I finally realized that it was blocking the use of S Voice, on my S3. I would get "network errors" constantly. Once I disabled AdBlock the S Voice worked fine. If not using S Voice isn't major.... the app does what it'supposed to.

No issues yet. Working just fine. It's living up to its reputation. Great job. But I have a small suggestion here. Add an option for auto on and off when WiFi is turned on/off. Because it will be great if ad block is only enabled when there's internet connectivity so the notification won't show up unnecessarily. Update - suddenly crash too often

I was going nuts trying to figure out why the Quora app for android would keep complaining about my internet connection. A quick peek at logcat showed that adblock was preventing it from being loaded. This needs to be fixed to grant 4 or more stars. Ability to modify the block patterns would also be a nice touch.

I love adblock plus on my pc, and wouldn't browse without it. However, it started crashing on my Nexus 4, resulting in pages not loading properly. Additionally, upon uninstalling, a complete reboot was required in order to use internet again. While I'll sadly have to see ads until I find something worth rooting for, at least I'll be able to browse the web.

While the firefox addon is completely unusable (at least in my phone), this app is working perfectly with firefox. The only draw back is chrome only give out blank page. It is even better if you are brave enough to root your phone, that way no need to setup proxy for every single wifi connection.

The app is great and does exactly what it's supposed to do. However, it causes some application errors and slow loading for some other apps. I only turn it on as I need it, otherwise it just makes things difficult. Having the option to have adblock without root is nice, especially since I recently upgraded from a rooted phone.

I was very excited to see this on android after using the browser version. It worked well initially, however, after a few weeks it started crashing. When it crashed my internet connection would be disrupted. I am running this on a rooted device and I believe the issue is with the transparent proxy adblock implements. I'm patiently awaiting an update to address this issue, but for now it's back to using the hosts file.

After enabling the ad filtering, most of the time the YouTube app was saying "there was a problem with the network". Please fix this bug. Also, some ads don't get blocked and still appear which is an issue. For example in "ninjump deluxe" ads don't get blocked at all. Another thing that I've noticed is that in "supermariamobile" ads appear as question marks which shows it is blocked but somehow it still manage to appear in the app. Please fix.

It stoped working for my Nexus 7 after upgrade to JB 4.2.2 Now the only option to filter banners is to setup proxy (bad idea) or use MiniBrowser pro version. Please fix asap, so I can use also Chrome browser.

... Then I switch from my old dhd to a nexus 4 and besides slowing down (or block) outgoing connections, it does nothing. Oh wait, he swallows huge amount of data for no apparent reason (132 mb in 8 hours, 3gb in two weeks on my dhd before I blocked background data). Disabled, will wait for a new release to test it once again

I was excited to see this available without needing to root my Nexus 7. Unfortunately, while it does block ads, it also blocks my WiFi connection and fails to load pages. Great idea, but unusable. Uninstalling for now, but I'll keep an eye on development.

I also have a variety of connection issues either this spell on my Galaxy S3 and constantly have to disable it. It does work on some sites but others refuse to load. some more work is needed.

While it does block ads, it also causes constant time outs, intermittent posting errors when trying to share links or even failure posting reviews here. Uninstalled and everything is smooth again.

Downloaded and within one day this app for some reason used over 600 mb of my monthly data. Not sure why it required that much usage, but I award this app no points, and may god have mercy on its soul

It needs a lot of optimization since it drains battery life, and can take a heavy toll on the cpu and ram.. Like 90mb ram.. And this is on a galaxy nexus.... Thts not a joke.... Thts quite an issue.... Many images in the browser get blocked..... EVEN worse is its inhibitory aspects... As steam mobile app can't function... Gtalk will have issues so will Skype....

I experienced an issue with the app while in standby blocking data on my phone. I would restart multiple times and could never figure out why i would not get data. I realized that the app may be causing it. I stopped the app and data was flowing like it should. I decided data was worth more to me than stopping ads. Overall the app worked.

RAM hog and significantly interferes with ordinary function of my phone. I understood it to block ads, not screw with my system. It also terminates my connection and I cannot get the information to set up the proxy per the directions given. Uninstalled, again... :/

I hate to give a bad review to something as useful as Adblock+, but this implementation is very unreliable. Many websites don't open at all until AB+ is disabled, or ads from f.e. Youtube still show up. Sad...

I initially thought it's issue with default filtering list (Fanboy). Then, I switched to EasyList and the same problem is still there. Either Quora URL pattern is filtered by all list OR AdBlock Plus app is blocking all Quora request. It would be nice to see ABP work with Quora app.

Never works. Ads are always on all my apps. They want you to go to their forum and join and waste more of your time. No thank you! I uninstalled the app and still have ads without their fake stopad app running in the background wasting more of my resources. Good grief!

Works fine and does great on most webpages (some native apps don't block ads), but randomly crashes, mostly on imgur or forums, and you have to refresh the page over and over untill the app works again.

You say it's not possible to completely disable the notification bar icon, but it is. Please check out AdFree because that developer did it. Please include an option to completely disable this icon. The lack of such an option for any app is an automatic 1 star review for me. Thanks.

It appears abp is incompatible with the new Chrome update. It blocks all content from every page I try. Shut it off, the pages load. Does not cause a problem with the built in browser on galaxy S3

This app needs some serious optimization.. It occupies 50-60 mb of RAM and for most phones this is unacceptable.. Moreover it turns out that blocks ads intermittently..uninstalled

Before one of the updates it would block all the ads, no problems. Until recently , I get ALL the adds on my apps and nothing changes when I switch it off or change lists. I may just be dumb, but I can't seem to fix it. Anyone know a solutions or a better ad blocker that works for crunchyroll?

Finally we got adb plus on android! It works like a charm, great job. The icon now is transparent. But a space is left is the notification bar as the icon is still present. I hope in a better solution. The drop down menu still shows up.

The app works generally well in block ads in web browser and application ads. There are a couple of issues such as crashing (adblock, not the web browser) with certain sites and serious crashing with flash enable web browser. There's also some kind of delay of loading website. ps: I know flash is no longer supported so that doesn't count.

This used 196mb of background data in 3 days so this didn't take me long to decide to uninstall it. I did seem to work while it was installed though

I have used ad block plus on other plarforms and frankly cannot use the web without it. Now that I have moved to Android, I am really happy that I can take advantage of it. I know it may hurt app economy for developers however I rarely click on ads so at least for me, it does not have that drawback. Thank you very much for the great work. The only feature that I really like to see is being able to add custom filters, like ones l have developed over years for myself.

It interferes with my wifi connection. I have to turn off my wifi and then turn it back on, this works for a little while then I have to do it again. This one problem makes it unusable.

This app completely block all web connectivity on my phone (rooted GS3). The browsers all were unable to connect to pages, and any app that used ads was unable to connect. Great, you've managed to block the ads, AND all content that went with them. Terrible.

It used to work without WiFi, but even with WiFi enabled the ads are still there. The worst thing on YouTube are the ads themselves, and I really wish this adblocker would work. Please find a way to fix it. Thank you!

Web pages in Chrome aren't loading properly. Tapatalk seems excessively slow. Gmail synch has been unusually slow since installing. Uninstalling to see if it corrects the problems.

Does the job, but like some people said - the non removable notification message should be removable. But my main issue is that it uses up SO much bandwidth. Had it on for two days - used 350mb. Shouldn't it block data, not use it?

Still has the apostrophe bug, now more award requiring reconfiguration for every WiFi network, and the recurrent connectivity problems. Adblock for Firefox definitely seems the way to go instead...

Clear and precise, Could this app be more effective if we could choose multiple lists at one time. What do you think dev? Seems to block better over WiFi.

I play lots of games on my S3 and it flipping annoys me when those gosh darn popup adverts come into the corner of the screen or you just accidently click the ad when it pops up!! and then your game closes or stalls when you clicked the ad!! FFFFUUUU!!!!- So happy i installed adblock+ ^_^ no more ads!! thanks guys this is exactly what i should have gotten from the beginning!!

Totally awesome to finally have adblock on our android devices. With such limited spacing(especially w/phones), all the advertisements can be a bit much. Not to mention a source of lag from windows pop'n up from accidental pokes/clicks. :-P

The app is good and does what it says on the tin. The new update allows users to turn the notification tray icon invisible, which can be great for some, although I don't find the always-visible icon irritating. The only problem is it is too aggressive, causing some sites to always fail to load.

See progress bar indicates it's loading, but after reaching 100% only white space is displayed... Without ABP all pages work just fine, not just a few ones.

Not all ads blocked under wi-fi. Please offer option to remove AB+ icon from status bar. Wastes space and does nothing.

Using this app is causing wi-fi connection issues & I still see ads in YouTube, but I stick with it due to the freedom from add dodging on my touch screen. It annoys me that it is almost impossible to navigate through most sights without this app. It may still have issues, but I rather be with then without.

This application works well but usually use 50/60Mb of ram (for proxy?) It's unacceptable on low-end devices. Please improve it! P.s. I tried AdAway that just edit hosts file and it seems to work good.

stops websites from loading, web page not avalible, even refreshing does nothing, i want your app to block ads! not the whole website itself! "settings" is very basic, there is not much you can change at all, very poor indeed.

This program works perfectly on Windows PC s but not on Android. It causes browser connection problems, flagging up spurious proxy server issues that don't exist. Uninstalling until this is sorted out.

Although the last update was nice with the option to hide the permanent icon, there's still a constant notification in my tray cluttering everything up. Overall, this app doesn't block ads well enough to make it worthwhile. Uninstalling until it's updated to fix the notification thing.

There's a certain irony in that you can't watch the google play video for ABP with it active. Didn't work on YouTube app, the one app I wanted it to.

Doesn't even compare to addaway for a rooted android. I suppose it blocks ads I don't know it blocks everything that works on Google's website including Java basic functionality

I was expecting better customization with this app, I still see tons of ad's that I have custom filters for. But i have no way to enter my filters. It would be awesome if i could just 1 click import all my filters from my pc. So it works but not as good as it could be.

I've been waiting for this app to appear for quite some time. The features can be a little to confusing for newcomers. "No Root required" is a plus, although I am rooted. New ability to Hide the notification icon is great, nice move on the feedback.

The application does exactly what it intends to do, blocks all adds successfully, but for some reason it crashes and I constantly need to uninstall and install for it to work again, sometimes it takes longer than others, but in the end it crashes. The time that lasted the longest was about 5 days, which was better than just a couple of hours. Otherwise it would be the perfect ad blocking app.

Works great, but it cause the Kindle App to take a really really long time to download books. Took me a week to find out why my Kindle book downloads were taking 10 mins.

● AppGeyser powered apps - still ads ● Apps inc "Bus Parking 3D" has a trouble ad ● ABP need feedback tool ● ABP needs faults/false positives reporting. ● (apps) bypass choice: (reasons for: paid for app, user support (even with ads) and apps that unable to function otherwise! ● Work on cellular network w/o root ● (seperate) check for updates choice - choice of when ● custom filters ● multi filters ● boot choice (toggle) ● holo UI

The always-present (even if hidden) notification icon is very annoying. You should make it a low priority notification on Jelly Bean, so that the icon doesn't show up in the status bar.

I really love the idea, but I can't use this app on a daily basis because of the bugs! Sometimes, YouTube videos won't load. Also, most of the webcomics I follow are blocked so I can't see their strips. I'll keep it and try it again whenever it gets updated (:

This app has great idea and very useful as well. But it uses too much resources and my whole system feels lagging. Will give 5 stars if this problem can be solved.

I installed it and tried Angry Birds (even after rebooting) and the ads still showed. What this app DID do was block access to the internet via both Firefox AND Chrome! Uninstalled this app.

I use adblock plus on my desktop and it's brilliant. On android it's lacking a lot of functionality in comparison. No whitelist means constant manual toggling. Also it seems to be making AWDlauncher very laggy

Okay, I know Developer did the best in un-rooted phone which is good job. I know there is a big gap to show when hiding the icon as well. I don't mind the icon; however, I will use it only when I use some apps may show ads. For example, watching live TV shows. I can just turn it on. However, I can't exit out the app!! Can developer make an Exit code so I can exit out all together instead of leaving in the memory!? I know this app requires some memory to run. But unchecking filter is not really exiting out the app. I had to kill it by other task killing app. If that can be updated, that may be possible a 5 stars. By the way, care to explain those lists.. We have no idea what they are!

Crashes frequantly when opening few tabs in chrome. Perhaps android closes it to save resources. When it works it works fine, but the crashing is so irritating since you have to enable adblock proxy multiple times per day since it crashed.

I still see ads, and apps (play store, youtube) randomly stop working. A hosts-file solution works much better. I'm really disappointed.

Its free but there is too many problems with non-rooted or rooted... soon as I un installed all problems want a way

When this program was running I had no Internet connection except thru wifi. I hadn't really noticed it until I took a road trip over the holidays. It took me about three weeks to figure out the problem. Now that adblock is not running I again have Internet access. In all fairness it might not have been set up correctly because it never really worked.

Great app it just needs to be able to block ads on network use... But as of late it's cause nothing but problems with browsers not loading pages etc and I can see the ABP logo in the status bar flashing as it crashes and restarts over and over. Turned off ABP and the browsers work.

Blocks some but have to change the list several different times. Am I using incorrectly?

I wish the persistent notification would go away... This could be resolved by using a remote rather than local server as the proxy or by simply using a hosts file hack in the event of successful root. Aside from that though, it's good. Hence, 4 stars.

Does not allow some sites to work at all. Very annoying. Should be designed as an extension for browsers not a server everything goes through as some sites do not allow this.

I did not notice any decline in the number of ads. What I did notice was a vast increase in the rate at which my battery died, and it sucked up so much memory it made everything else run poorly. Not worth the trouble.

Ok app, but a huge data hog! Used up my monthly data in just 2 days! Download Adfree instead. Works just as well & not a data hog.

Worked OK, missed some adds in pages and apps, but after updating to 4.2.2 on Nex4 via OTA it can't connect out. Doesn't work. Please fix. Desktop Chrome version is great.

Search Google for 'adblock plus android data usage' From Nov 9 - Nov 26, my WiFi data use was 2.6GB, which is pretty typical for me. I installed ABP on the 27th. From Nov 27 - Dec 7, data use ballooned to 51.78GB with no change in my use of the phone. Thankfully, this was on WiFi. "Saves bandwidth". Or not.

Does not work on dolphin browser but works for opera and Firefox and chrome? Dolphin is the most popular browser for android and no support, come on guys not cool. I have no use for this if I can't use my favorite browser. Disappointed.

This does indeed remove ads. Instead I get error messages that are bigger than the ads would have been. Maybe it works different on jellybean...

Been using the app for a while and it works. Only problem is it crashes a lot when opening tabs on Chrome browser and making webpages unable to load. The app have potential to grow better so please optimize it more.

I have nothing but problems with widgets no longer updating, and web browsing connection problems. Uninstalled adblock plus and the problems went away.

Best non-root ad blocker! Unfortunately android 4.2.2 fixed the security hole this app was using (exploiting) thus rendering the app useless. Don't get me wrong, I did like this app and I do appreciate Google fixing security holes.

Ads still show up wherever I go... still have to watch commercials before YouTube videos... What kind of ads was it supposed to be blocking?

Blocks ads but also causes constant WiFi dropouts on my nexus 7. Had to disable this so I could enjoy my tablet again.

I checked how much memory it's using. Tremendous almost 100Mb in the memory continually. It's too much until a phone comes out with 2-4Gb memory... Plus it slows down extremely. Uninstalled, because of these and only working through wifi.

I've used Adblock Plus on my desktop browsers for years with satisfaction. I was disappointed with the connectivity errors this app caused. Please fix so I can give it a higher rating. Unistalling for now. SGH-I717D Galaxy Note, rooted, stock.

Does what it said but also slows down everything on my phone & makes some things un-loadable! But utube viewing is much better would give 5 stars if it could be left turned on & just used for utube..

But it does completely block access to any website except Google. The notification icon is unnecessary. Uninstalled, back to AdFree. Thanks for coming out.

Causes apps to crash, websites not to load, etc. Too aggressive. And it uses to much battery life

Nexus 7. Not rooted, chrome complains about proxy errors and Facebook won't shoe inline pictures. Disabling the block fixed all my problems. Something is not quite working yet.

Blocked the ads in my gReader which delighted me. Wish it had a few more options but for people who dont have a rooted phone, this is very helpful. With a bit more work it could be an essential app.

Blocks ads well, but it also blocks web pages(Facebook) in browser even when ad block is not running. Probably has to do with ad block's recommended proxy settings. Changed proxy settings and web pages open again.

Take a look at the amount of data this app uses in the background... This needs to be fixed it is a rather large amount...

Can you update this app to work without a wifi connection. I am always on my cell phone network never wifi. The app says blocks ads with wifi. Please update thanks

I've read on tech sites that ad blocking apps have been temporarily defeated by Google on JB 4.2.2. It would appear they way, for more. For now, here is a way to get rid of the notification icon. Might only work on AOSP / Jelly Bean ROM): view the app's settings in Android's application management. Untick "show notifications" box. Accept the disclaimer. Voila.

It's taken me three weeks of fruitless googling and then I finally found the culprit of constant disconnects and timeouts when using a WiFi connection. I've uninstalled adblock and poof, the problems are gone.

I love adblock for desktop but this version has many problems. It uses a lot of data, is inconsistent and causes network connection failure. Needs improvement.

I have used this and it works wonderful. Of course ads find ways around. The pop ups that use up all your resourses just make me hot under the hat lets say!

Caused application crashes and web connection problems, no good really. Shame as the desktop vesion is excellent.

Web browsing used to be slow and painful, with the system often asking me if I wanted to force close or wait. No more! My browsing experience is now silky smooth and lag-free.

I have been waiting AGES for an Ad-Blocker for *Non Rooted phone's* and found this one to be great. Thanks so much. Can't wait for future updates!

When it blocks ads on all connections (rooted) it breaks mms on my AT&T Galaxy Note 2. Confirmed this several times. Uninstalling for now. Hopefully, it gets fixed later.

The application works well but has flaws. Causes Google Chrome to display a can't connect to proxy error. You can't select more then one list at a time. Ads can slip thru the block.

On a rooted Nexus 4, with over 1GB of free RAM, the app often crashes for a fraction of a second before restarting. However, it takes the phone up to 30 seconds before it is ready to use again, during which no data apps work. If you're rooted, this is not the app for you - go with Adfree which works, works well, and doesn't ruin your browsing experience with routine crashes. I'm also baffled by the icon requirement - other than to inform the user of the inevitable crash and unusability of the phone.

Since recent Chrome update I get only empty pages, only disabling Adblock helps. Firefox and stock browser work fine however even with Adblock enabled.
