Had a password manager since before it was "cool". I started at that three dot red icon company but it was janky at best so the first security scare sent me packing. I landed at 1Password as I controlled the at Dropbox back then. I was Android user in the early days and there was a time that Android felt abandoned by Agile Bits - for years. So I "Dashed" away - but the "other" service had lame autofill on Android.... So here I am again - little to complain about. Except Biometric unlock sucks...

  2. Larry Sharon-avatar

Tried this as our first pw manager and it has been easy to use so far. Don't know if it's a setting but having to sign in for each app on mobile devices is annoying- there must be a sign in option that lasts for 30 minutes or so just as there's an option for sign on for laptop. Other than that it's been quite easy to set up and use.

  3. S-avatar

Had it for years. This started for me as a free app offering at a major coffee chain on my iPhone. I've since added it to everything I own. Stand alone licences for the Mac and paid apps on the phones (Android and Apple). All sync seamlessly through Dropbox. My only complaint is the subscription model. You don't get the full experience unless you pay more and more and more monthly. I wish there was a way to pay once and just enjoy until you want to upgrade to any new features. Great app overall.

  4. Matt Crombie-avatar

    Matt Crombie

Great app! My only request would be to make it easier to sign in without password so often (random combination or PIN and biometrics etc) but I understand it's a pretty important thing so needs to be secure. Maybe allow this to be configurable? With COVID-19 lockdowns I'm not really as concerned someone is going to gain access so would be nice to say something like "don't ask me for 3 days" or something. Otherwise great app.

  5. Zeth Odderskov-avatar

    Zeth Odderskov

Okay... The app is actually not that bad. But there is just one MASSIVE design-flaw! Why-oh-why do you have to press 'Categories' to access your passwords?! I've made about 10 people use 1Password - and they always ask me. It's so counter intuitive. But it never crashes. It never has any unfortunate stuff happening.

Updating to version 7.7 - have to uninstall and reinstall to get local storage sync working again after latest update Previous review Local file synchronization started to become unreliable, hangs with a spinner and just says sync already in progress if manually trigger sync. Had to reinstall several times to cure multiple instances of this bug, if it happens again I'll be looking for a new password manager.

I've used this app for years and I still have every username and password to every Website , Purchased App, and even all my Registered Software Serial and Registration Numbers for Windows and Android programs from 5yrs back and earlier in some cases. I trust this Company and their software. Great Technical Support to. It's worth every penny and more!

The best multi-platform password manager I've tried. I often read in reviews that 1password is Mac focused but I find it seamless on Windows, Android, MacOS, iOS and in the supported browsers. After having tried the other major competitors this one wins hands down for ease of use and functionality.

  9. Ard Righ-avatar

App will not update. Gets stuck at 99%. No indication why it fails to update. Never had any other android app that fails to update. Edit: App decided to update with no intervention from me.

I see some bad reviews about 1Password but I cannot imagine why. I heard about this app on a podcast and decided to check it out. I have not had any issues in all the months I've been using it. This is simple to use, my passwords are secure, I use the Watchtower function to quickly identify and resolve any bad or duplicated passwords, the cost is reasonable, recovery options are simple, and I have no complaints. I am able to review authorized devices, use biometrics to login, edit quickly, I have had great success with it. I actually came on today to upgrade to a family plan.

  11. Robert Kendall-avatar

    Robert Kendall

A major site and service was hacked that I have an account on. Since then I've used 1passwors to reset all passwords with its password gen and store it behind 1passwords lock and key. Which can only be accessed by thumbprint or master password, which was a new one, and only used for 1password. Making my identity and wallet virtually impenetrable. Given 1password dosnt get hacked lol. I only wish there was an annual subscription rather than every month.

  12. Audrey Yuan-avatar

What an amazing, secure, and beautiful app! I can never go back to using another password manager.

  13. Jessie-avatar

Frustrating! I started a free trial today. The app constantly is logging me out on my phone or out of the web browser plugin and forces me to frequently input **2** complicated master passwords/long keys each time I need to use it. I'm going to try using 1password a bit more in case I set the account up wrong. After about 3 hours spent setting up a few website accounts on this manager this should be more user friendly. At this rate I'm probably going to delete and not "subscribe" to the service

  14. Dennis P-avatar

There was a pretty steep learning curve to using 1Password vs something like Chrome's integration for password management. However, after some trial and error I'm pretty happy. I still find the UI to be a bit convoluted. Especially, for the windows app. I actually enjoy the website the most but overall good app and good experience. Reason it is not perfect is because I have noticed times where the password manager will not autofill and that syncing password changes can be wonky at times.

  15. Kate Bell-avatar

    Kate Bell

I've been using the app for over a year after my boss recommended it to me and honestly it's made my entire online life so much simpler and more secure. I store all my passwords here as well as some passwords for my kids who are too young to need their own copy. It's straightforward to set up and use. I'm sure I'm not using it to its fullest, but even just as a lock box for hundreds of passwords, it's well worth the price for me

  16. Bradley Haskovec-avatar

    Bradley Haskovec

I can maybe understand some of the frustration that people exhibit when using a password manager. They can be difficult at times. But whatever negativity you might see about 1Password is misplaced, and it shouldn't deter anyone from using the features and options that this password manager offers. After getting it installed and usable on ALL of my devices and browsers, I finally am able to use it all the time -- and it has made my life so much easier and more manageable and safe. Take the time to learn what this has to offer and you won't be disappointed.

  17. Chris Lopez-avatar

I cannot get the 1password icon on my toolbar. I have downloaded the app 4 times! Been trying to use this for several hours and am extremely frustrated. I can get into my vault, but that's it. Can't do anything with that. A separate (?) issue is when trying to install it on my android devises it says there are no compatible ones. I this only for iphones?

  18. Stephen Conroy-avatar

    Stephen Conroy

This could be a great! I used LastPass since 2014. It worked great & then I found it had its own internal browser built into the app. We use internet filtering to protect our family from visiting unwanted websites. Embedded browsers allow the user to bypass all internet filtering. Because of this I did the trial of one password and it did not appear to have an embedded browser. After purchasing, I discovered it also had an embedded browser. VERY DISAPPOINTING! Pls remove browser for 5 stars!!

  19. Stephan Krasner-avatar

    Stephan Krasner

This program keeps getting worse, and worse. It used to be simple. Just pay for a program once @$60, remember your master password, and use Dropbox to store the data. EASY. Now there is a $30 monthly subscription fee, they hold your data hostage on their servers. This method does not sync as well as Dropbox, so often your passwords will not sync for days, casing you to have to reset passwords. You are forced to use a secret passphrase to regain access to your passwords. Do not use this program

  20. Dan-avatar

Sometimes doesn't show up when selecting certain websites text fields but works well when it does

  21. Luis Tejeda-avatar

    Luis Tejeda

this program sucks. I just noticed I still had it installed when google charged me a 3.99 monthly fee. didnt even use it because it was so bad. I have removed my card from google and won't be buying anything from them ever again. Not cool. I bet that's where 90% of their revenue comes from. Sneakily billing people a recurring fee and FOR WHAT. this app is garbage.

  22. Patrick Hung-avatar

    Patrick Hung

Disappointing. Came from other manager and after 5 mths of use I m regretting. App was solid at first but now # of apps are not recognizing and not auto fill at all. 2 of the examples are Walmart n HomeDepot. Also, Everytime u have a new login saved from the PC, u have to "search & link" with ur app on phone to use it. Very frustrating. The desktop app & extension is full of it too. It has windows hello fingerprint feature for exe but not extension yet it never works. Thinking hard to move on

Easy to use and convenient for storing all my passwords and other secure information then accessing quickly when I need it. Works across all devices including Apple, Windows and Android and the widgets work with all browsers that I've used (Edge, Chrome, Safari and Firefox).

Lovely app, but it needs to incorporate credit card filling - why does the iOS version of 1Password have this feature but not android :(

  25. Matthew Siegrist-avatar

    Matthew Siegrist

Software only limits you to one authenticator app with no back up app allowed. This can be a problem. For instance when the program self updates and logs you out. Been trying to reset this up for hours only to receive an error saying device limit reached... Thereby locking me out. This is deplorable for pay software.

  26. Leigh Hogle-avatar

Absolute Nightmare. I had my "emergency packet" and "Secret Key". If I used the key on my packet or the phone app (both were the same) the website on the computer said it was an invalid key. Frustrating trying to get help. I ended up deleting my account. NOT A SERVICE WORTH PAYING FOR.

There needs to be a way to X out of autofill in browsers. A ton of the times it errors out and fills a huge space of mobile form input which you can't remove.

  29. Lyes Bouakaz-avatar

    Lyes Bouakaz

The app won't sync anymore. These days I expect most apps to just work without having to reinstall or get in touch to investigate an issue, as it's sadly easier to install a different app that just works than try to diagnose the problem.

  30. Kyle Martin-avatar

    Kyle Martin

Best password manager I have ever used - miles ahead of LastPass, and excellent customer service. The app is effortless to use, which is imperative for this kind of app imo. One request: a 'quick settings' button for easy access whenever

A solid app for the phone, fingerprint login is nice. I've been using it for over a year now. The desktop app is good as well, however I find myself using the web browser extensions most often and it's incredibly frustrating to have to type your password in every time you close an instance of the browser and reopen it. This is true even if you set it to "never lock" in the settings. This alone is making me want to switch to a different solution now. Otherwise, it's been a good reliable app.

  69. Jon Mooney-avatar

This is a very frustrating app. I've used it for a couple of years. Initially, I was satisfied, but it's has been having more and more trouble recognizing when it is needed. Sometimes it works as advertised, but much of the time it fails to spring into action, fills in either the login OR the password, but not both, or fails to do anything at all. I find myself manually opening the app, searching for the required login and then cutting and pasting the login information into the required fields.

Superb password safe. I migrated after many years with LastPass and did not regret. 1Password is multiplatform and supports 2-factor log in for each new device. Records in the database support multiple passwords per record and even include time-based one-time passwords. The company is very responsive to user feedback.

WONDERFUL password manager/2factor app if you're willing to pay the (very low!) price of admission! I haven't had any issues and the ability to access my OTPs directly in my desktop browser is what I needed in my life. Much cleaner and smoother than Lastpass.

I gave 1P a shot after years of being a paid LP user (thank you for FINALLY supporting hardware keys...it's what pushed me over the edge, along with LP's slow worsening), and it's great! Takes a little getting used to, but it's an upgrade over most people's bad password policies. Yes, it's paid, and yes, it's cloud-based, but the price is worth it, and they seem to take security seriously (the white paper is solid). Plus, you don't need to be always online to access (deal breaker otherwise).

My wife and I use 1Password on two IOS phones and two Android tablets. We are quite satisfied. For years, we had been premium users of another well known PW manager. Recently we were notified that unless we ran a DB conversion program on a Windows machine, there would be no further updates for us. We don't have a Windows machine. Their support blew us off, "Too bad. So sad. Go away". 1Password is a superior product with better functionality & platform support.

I've been looking for a password app and I'm glad to have read about 1Password. This app is great and does exactly what you need it to and I also appreciate the Secure Notes feature. For a while, I've been storing my passwords in Signal texts to myself but I'm happy to have found this encrypted app for my passwords and login information. I'm also glad I can use it on 2 devices. Thank you for this app, definitely worth the paid subscription!

Have been a paying member for many years and and very satisfied. Have only recently changed to android from iOS and am happy to report that the application still works as good as it did on iOS platform. I have thought about looking elsewhere just for a change or just in case there is some competition out there but I must honestly say that I haven't been able to find it yet. I think I will happily stop looking as was only wondering if any decent competition after all these years! Keep it going!

Though I am happy that some users seem to enjoy 1Password, I cannot wrap my mind around this being possible at all. The software forces you to type your password every single time you invoke it and i have not found a way to switch this off. It does not offer you to fill in your password automatically in your browser. You need to manually invoke it. The import feature made an unbelievable mess of my passwords and basically caused nothing to work anymore. Support was friendly and sincerely tried to help me but i think it is the wrong direction. The sofware should just be good, not bad and then try to solve that.

Wonderful app and password manager. I never have to worry about forgetting my password as its all stored safely and securely on here. All I need to do is remember my login information and password for this 1Password which is so much simpler. Another great feature is that it generates new strong passwords for sites if needed and its 2FA is easy to use. It easily syncs between my android and Mac. The extensions work flawlessly. They also have a family plan which I have upgraded to with no issues.

Sometimes it doesn't sync between devices. But I didn't want pay dropbox since they put on a limit on how many devices can access an account.

Exceptional customer service. When an error occurred I was immediately given the opportunity to send a diagnostic report and when I did so a customer representative immediately responded and troubleshooted the issue. This saves so much time and frustration. One of the best apps out there to use in the digital age.

I understand and definitely get the impression that 1password focuses on Apple devices and that's where they started. But there are certain features I can't believe aren't present on either Windows or Android, such as password history. I accidentally changed a password and cannot recover my password.

Very good. Bugs: Some few websites and apps act weird with it, but might just be a problem with how those are coded. · Like 1password might keep popping up annoyingly when trying to input without it. · In some apps it just stops popping up after misclicking it away. // The update notes thing seems fine now.

User experience is incredibly frustrating. More bells and whistles constantly added yet doesn't recognize pw changes 1/2 the time which results in more pw changes which defeats the purpose of a pw manager. More work on usability would be nice.

We've got some great additions for you in this update. Get notified when a website that you have an account for is added to Watchtower. View and edit your vault details from the convenience of the new vault switcher. And send 1Password stickers using Gboard to encourage your family, friends, and co-workers to stay secure. We hope you enjoy this release as much as we enjoyed building it for you! Let us know what you think on Google Play, Twitter, and in the 1Password forums.

I've been a paying user on Apple for a little over a year. After switching to android I'm ready to drop it, it's constantly asking me if I want to save system pass codes or pins that I enter for things like my secure folder, or the pin I use to unlock my phone. And as of now I have yet to find a way to turn it off. Every single time I unlock my phone, or go into settings to change something in the pin coded area it pops up and makes me click "don't save"

Easy to use, amazing. It might be a scam that I have been pawned many times, I am not sure but still keeping that much password in the notebook (not digital) was hard. Just please, try to enhance autofilling for some apps. In some apps it is not working fully. If the app animates pasword field app is not able.to fill the password field for example. Not your fault I know but good to improve :)

After upgrade, I had a minor problem with frozen Unlocked screen after entering pswd correctly. Search of 1Password's Support Forum revealed a physical or virtual keyboard might be causing conflict. Floating keyboard app (MS-SwiftKey, ver was the problem. passports, drivers licenses, SIN cards, etc. I should just be able to add a photo and not need to double the number of items I have for my families' docs. When i search passport I shouldnt have to choose between the object with the photos or the one with the info. It should be easy and the current system is not. Its extra painful since I took all the photos on my phone and want my app to do this. The app looks amazing though!

I have used this app for a long time. I originally downloaded it when it ran version 4. After upgrading to version 7 the sync ability for the app is extremely slow. If I add new information on my desktop the sync process could take days to complete. I believe it doesn't sync in the background for some reason. So the screen has to be on and app open. Please fix. The desktop is slow to respond after the update to 7 as well.

The service is great, but the app leaves a lot to be desired. There's no way to generate a password, which makes it almost impossible to create a new account with a strong password on mobile. Plus, I have all kinds of issues logging in to things using in-app browsers (ie when you click a link from Facebook or Instagram). It often misses signing in to websites and applications that I do have accounts for, too.

I have loved 1Password since I first used in a few years ago, and highly recommend it for accuracy, ease of use, the auto-fill feature. When I added it to another device, I needed help with syncing to my phone. The customer service is THE BEST! I was amazed at the prompt response, the friendly assistant, the detailed instructions and walking me through each step to success. I recommend 1Password for their customer service as well as for the product itself. Thank you!
